Everyone at Jefferson Landscape and Design is hard working and dedicated to their profession. They made sure to keep me updated and informed every step of the way. When they say from “Design to Finish” they really mean it. The main reason I went with this company was because I didn’t want to deal with a bunch of different people, but what caught my eye was their blog. It seems like such a simple thing, but I knew that a company that took that much time to further explain concepts and ideas would definitely go above and beyond on my project. In fact, it was their blog post on small landscapes that caught my eye. My yard is urban and small(ish), like most these days, but I wanted it to be full, to include as much as possible so it didn’t seem small. They hit it out of the park! I now have a stamped concrete patio, an arbor, lights, plants with gravel planting areas, a Japanese maple, a flowering tree, even a pondless waterfall. The irrigation system and lighting transformer that Jeff installed allows me to set the timers and forget about it. During the design process Jeff and his team really listened. Alejandro and Emilio are both really knowledgeable, respectful and hard-working. Jeff offered suggestions on what would work best, and offered terrific solutions to my problems…well, what turned out to not be problems at all. Great company and crew all the way around.
Jefferson Landscape and Design is a magnificent company! I was planning on spending a fortune on my backyard and wanted an honest, reputable company that wasn't going to take advantage of me, and that's exactly what I got. I did my homework, read the many reviews and I can honestly say, all the wonderful things people have said about Jeff and everyone at Jefferson Landscape and Design are absolutely true! From the color of the plants to the curve of the lighted pathway, every detail was expertly executed. Now I have a peaceful place to spend my afternoons while the grandkids have a safe, level grassy area to run and play. I am so happy with the end result. I will definitely reach out to Jeff again when it's time to redo my front yard.
I have so much respect for Jeff and Jefferson Landscape and Design and here's why. I had called several other landscapers first and they all gave me a quote over the phone, but when they actually came out to survey my yard, it was often 10x higher or more than what they quoted. Imagine my shock!! That's when a friend recommended Jefferson Landscape and Design. Jeff didn't give me a quote over the phone, instead he came out and we sat down and talked. He asked what I wanted for the yard. What was MY vision, not his. After three design meetings and seeing the drawing of the yard, I knew exactly what I was getting and exactly how much it would cost. No surprises. I respect how open and honest they are. Plus, I got a great looking yard. Thank you for being so transparent in a time where that seems to be the exception and not the rule!
Jeff is a true visionary and his work is exceptional. He designed and installed a spectacular 15-foot waterfall and stream in our backyard. Jeff is very easy to communicate with and just an all-around wonderful person. Jeff and his entire crew showed real ownership and pride in the project. The guys always arrived on time ready to work and left the site in an orderly fashion every night. This kind of pride and dedication is hard to find in a company now a days. I’m so happy we found Jefferson Landscape and Design.
I was looking for a landscaper who was willing to accept a challenge and who I could work with. Jefferson Landscape and Design turned out to be the answer. They not only did a very nice job but they were easy to work with. Any little snags that did come up were quickly addressed. Jeff took a personal interest in the project and contacts me periodically even now to make sure everything is functioning properly. I am a very happy customer and would definitely recommend Jefferson Landscape and Design to anyone.
First, I have to say that Jeff (the owner) is very responsive, whether it’s through email, text message or in person. Jeff and his crew at Jefferson Landscape and Design are a pleasure to work with. They are punctual, professional and personable. This was such a wonderful experience. We love our new front yard and we are getting so many compliments from our neighbors on the change. Like most couples, my husband and I have watched all of those DIY, House Flipper-type shows and we thought "Oh we can easily do this. We can totally landscape our yard". WRONG!! We were oh so wrong! That's when we decided to call Jeff at Jefferson Landscape and Design and thank God we did. Not only did he swoop in and rescue our eyesore, hodge-podge of a backyard that screamed "We don't have a clue", but quite possibly saved our marriage (just kidding. LOL). Jeff listened to both my husband and myself and took into account that we both have VERY different ideas of how we wanted our yard to look and function. My husband wanted a simple and classic design, "less is more". I wanted hip and whimsical. Jeff came back with a design that was a perfect blend of classic with a bit of whimsy. Jeff first showed us a list of plants and trees that were drought-tolerant, would thrive best in our type of soil, and provide a kaleidoscope of color. Then it came time to pick the color for our stamped concrete, this is where Jeff's expertise and patience came into play again. My husband wanted plain (picture beige). I wanted fun (picture red). Jeff offered a suggestion that was right in the middle, a color neither of us had even considered, but ended up being EXACTLY what we wanted. Brilliant!! It's truly amazing the way Jeff designed our yard, it feels like he gave us more square footage. I'm most looking forward to when our new plants and trees bloom so we can be showered with all of the different colors and scents. Our yard is now a cohesive work of art that is functional, gorgeous to look at, and easy to maintain. The process from concept, to design, to execution was seamless. My only regret is that I didn't call Jefferson Landscape and Design sooner!
Jeff and all the guys at Jefferson Landscape and Design are FANTASTIC!! Jeff took the time to listen to what I wanted, worked with me and my budget, suggested some wonderful alternatives and then presented me with an amazing design. The whole group was polite, patient (I asked a lot of questions) and very respectful. This was one of the best experiences I've had doing home improvements!! You'd be crazy to hire another landscape firm! I would recommend Jeff and his guys to everyone!!

I had a very strange and awkward experience with this company. In my experience, they are unreliable, rude and untrustworthy, so I would strongly recommend against engaging with them. I called them to ask if they would be interested in helping finish a waterfall that was already started. Right off the bat, the owner was dismissive and condescending - telling me he is very busy and doesnt have time. He then agreed to come out and we locked on a date and time. I texted him early in the day to confirm and did not get a response. Sure enough, no one showed up for the appointment. The owner called after the time had passed and said something about his text messages getting deleted (what?). No apology, no acknowledgement of missing our appointment. He said he is sending one of his guys like it was a favor to me. The guy came out and we discussed scope and price. We agreed to it and agreed that we would get in touch later in the week to firm it up. I called the number he gave me and the line was dead. After a few days, I got in touch with the owner via text again asking about timing only to receive a two word response not interested. Without explaining what happened or taking the time to have a proper conversation. I can only assume the this is how they treat all of their customers, unless someone is willing to grossly overpay for their work. Maybe thats the only time they exhibit any sense of customer service. If this is how they treat you BEFORE they start a job, I can only imagine what a nightmare it must be to work with them.
WARNING! I cannot implore you enough, do NOT use Jefferson Landscaping, Fremont. First don t pay ahead, ripoff goes buys cheapest limited number of plants he could. Left clue,ex s workers did not listen. There are hoses sticking out of the ground,either for a fountain or sprinklers. The arbor has misaligned wood, and the plant promised are just left there in pots! The work done 12/12/17 parch of grass already dying. The fountain is on the fritz. I m reasonable most could be fixed but they took the money and ran THIEVES Jeffrey Zima is Crooked
Our backyard was a wasteland of concrete and weeds. It was not pretty to look at and was barely functional. I was blown away by the transformation that Jefferson Landscape and Design gave us. Where once was bland and grey, is now a lush lawn with high and low points, lights with flowers and shrubs, and my favorite, an arbor that sits over a stamped concrete patio that overlooks the valley below our home. The end result is magical and beyond words. Thank you to everyone for a stellar job!

I wish we could give more than 5 stars! Our backyard was plain, basic and frankly boring. It was average and we wanted something with a little more pizzazz, which is where Jefferson Landscape and Design comes in. Before even meeting in person, I spoke with Jeff over the phone and explained what we were looking for. Jeff was very excited about the possibilities and assured us that no task was too big. Jeff and his team tore out all of the old cracked concrete and replaced it with new grass, a stone walkway, new patio, a moss retaining wall and a waterfall cascading into a koi pond. To say it was a huge undertaking is an understatement, but they handled it like the consummate professionals they are. The really exciting part was coming home each night from work to see what new piece had been completed. I was really appreciative of the way that Jeff stayed in contact with us during each and every phase of the project. Thanks Guys for all of your hard work!
Jefferson Landscape and Design is exactly as his motto/business philosophy states: From design to finish. I had my entire backyard demolished and redesigned it with stamped concrete, a pondless waterfall, and a new lawn! Jeffery Zima, the owner, was thorough, listened to my ideas of wanting a serene/peaceful & hummingbird/butterfly friendly environment and he incorporated them into his design. My entire job only took 2.5 weeks to complete; Jefferys workers were conscientious, consistent w/ start/stop times, and kept my backyard clean; everything was orchestrated in an organized manner: from design, demolition, prepping of the soil, pouring/designing of the concrete, installation of the waterfall, sprinkler/drip and electrical lines, & planting the plants. Jeffery was prompt in his communication/follow through w/ me & his workers. Jeffrey provided a list of shrubs, trees, vines, water-friendly plants & I researched every one of them and provided feedback; he managed to choose the perfect plants for my feng-sui backyard! Theres no need to shop around; just call Jefferson Landscape & Design for your 1-stop shopping to get the job done right!!!!
