Tru Green has provided various services over the years and without exception all services were effective, completed discretely and according to the contract plan. We live in a rural area with lots of trees and dormant water making it a paradise for mosquito reproduction. The pest control service with Tru Green has allowed us to enjoy the outdoors and our patio setting. As far as I know the products used are pet safe and environmentally friendly.

These people are persistent. I get constant calls from them after I let them know I am no longer interested. It s extremely annoying.

Ryan came to the door (which in the past other service providers did not) introduced himself and was very polite. He was patient and very knowledgeable about my lawn concerns. My son and I are very allergic to mosquitoes. The new house we purchased had a serious mosquito population. A friend of mine recommended true green. When I called I spoke to a man named Rodney who was super awesome to deal with. He was very informative and professional. I was set up as a new client and within 4 days had my yard sprayed. We have just received our second application and have been quite happy and mosquito free.

I shared a concern after my service was completed. I appreciate TruGreen having after hours customer service where I could directly talk with an agent and have my concern resolved. TruGreen also worked to resolve my concern in a very efficient manner. Thank you!

Easy pay option is a joke because they just take whatever they want then when I call to get the service cancelled the person on the phone was so rude. They took 111 one time and 230 another when my easy pay option was 55 each time they come out. I tried telling her that but she just cut me off and rudely said Ill get it cancelled then did whatever she did for a couple minutes gets back on the line just says its cancelled and hung up on me when I was trying to ask another question. Oh yeah not to mention every single weed is still in my yard which was the whole reason I even tried them out... Better off going to Weedman

Hard to share experience with out seeing results. Noticed on pdf sheet that it says sorry I missed you? I was home and noting was mentioned to me about anything? So the customer service part to me is poor. Even before I was home and I mentioned to the person that I wanted them to be sure to check along the fence area. I believe that is was not done. I feel the interaction with the customer is important. Recommend taking out the ear buds and focus on the job more.

They did a good job make my grass nice and green until one application they burned my grass front and back. Now I am stuck looking at dead grass streaks in my yard. I called the salesman out to look at it and he said..it ll grow back .He was wrong I would post pictures but google review isn t giving me the option.

Great for mosquito control will come twice a month. With that being said... DO NOT TRANSFER YOUR ACCT. Ive been fighting with over billing for 2yrs! You have to cancel your account, get refund then start new service if you move. Otherwise its a nightmare!

You people should be responsible for when stuff falls off your trucks and hits people vehicles and when I tried to call you gave me the run around very unprofessional

In the spring they answer the phone and take your credit card to charge future applications. All summer long, it is impossible to contact them. Each time I tried to call them in the summer to hold or adjust our application, I gave up after waiting over an hour on hold to talk to somebody. I tried several times throughout July and August to reach someone to adjust our application and each time was never able to speak with someone or leave a message. Once they have your credit card in the spring, forget being able to reach them or stop service. Its an unforgivable way to do business. They just hold you hostage.

UPDATE: 8/12/22 upgraded from 1 star to 3 star. TruGreen local branch and corporate HQs both reached out to me and did a good come back with customer service and explanation why my account did not come up (new system glitch; was found in old system). They offered to come out and further assess the situation (my flowers are not looking good) and give me a free treatment on top of first treatment no charge. I really appreciated the effort and somewhat redeemed their customer service, however I have decided to go with a friend recommended, smaller company with lower rates. As a single woman and a Direct Care Provider for group homes for the severely disabled individuals, the industry is going through a huge staff shortage and I am finding that I must work double shifts consistently with no time for any kind of lawn care. Yesterday was my first treatment from Trugreen and I made sure to meet the tech to show him certain areas where I did NOT want treated. One area in particular is a rustic cement area in my backyard where there have been beautiful flowers growing, for years, through the cracks. The area was already growing up beautifully with bright purple petunias. It is where I have my rustic bird feeders and it is my prized area. Having a security camera I started to record and watched as the tech sprayed my backyard and to my horror, he started to spray the cement area! I jumped up and ran out but it was too late. My heart sunk and I was near tears. The tech apologized and said he misunderstood. That may be so, but the flowers (no weeds) that were growing up should have been a clue for him to double check with me. I did not scream or shout, I just quietly walked away. Next thing I know, within minutes, he was done with the rest of the lawn. Did he treat the whole area? Less than 20 minutes? Before he left, I went outside and asked if we could water down the cement area with the hose. Possibly that would help. He helped me spray the area with water, but I am not hopeful. I know the tech felt bad, however, Trugreen will have to make it right. After he left I tried calling the customer care number on the app multiple times. I could not get a live person. I then tried the chat on the app. Virtual chat! No live person. I kept trying and finally got a hold of a live chat person and I told him what happened and he was sympathetic but he could not found my account. I gave him my customer number, the techs number, the appointment number, etc. etc. No account! He escalated and said someone will call me within 3 hours. I was very suspicious now because I told him I had video and photos. I also was taking screenshots of the chat. So, I asked him for a name and number in return in case I did not receive that phone call. He said no, I could not have it. I then insisted. He said he was not allowed. I then demanded and he abruptly quit the chat. I tried chat again and no surprise, could not get through. And no surprise, no call back. Really Trugreen! If Trugreen thinks I am going to pay this bill and continue with their services after this treatment, they would be wrong. Now it is up to the local branch in Freeland to get back with me to make it right. I am not a Karen. I am very reasonable and know honest mistakes happen. This I told the chat person. Make it right Trugreen otherwise, I wont pay nor continue with treatments, wont amend this review, add proofs, and will continue not say anything good about Trugreen that obviously cannot live up to being Americas #1 Lawn Care Company.

So I had a brand new hydroseeded lawn a few years back. I managed it myself until 2020 when. I hired trugreen. They managed to kill half my lawn. I stated to about 3 people when I was talking to them that I wanted overseeding to be done of which they assured me it would be. Was never done. I called them towards the end of the season last year as my lawn went from perfect to dead and they told me not to worry that the grass will be fine next season (2021). Well the grass wasnt fine it was all dead. Then I called to cancel and they kept me on the phone for like 30 minutes promising me that theyd fix it and that Id get an email with a greatly reduced rate and someone would be out to my house in a few days. Well I never got the email and noone ever came. Worst company Ive ever dealt with. Avoid at all costs. No its going to cost me a ton in the fall to re-hydroseed my lawn. Perfect example of what happens when a company gets too big for its own good and stops caring about quality over quantity.

Horrible experience with this company. I only had services for one month before I had to cancel. I was told they would kill the grubs in my yard, put down weed control, and that they could do my seeding and aeration in the spring. When I called to ask about the services I had contracted for I was told 3 different things by 3 different reps. After getting the run around about if they could really help with the problems I had, I cancelled on 4/30 and got a cancellation number because I read previous reviews about issues with cancelling. I was told my next treatment wasnt scheduled until May 11 or 12 so I cancelled before any other services happened and I didnt owe anything. A few weeks later I was sent a bill for a couple hundred dollars for a service I never received. I have received numerous calls asking for payment, to reopen services, text messages, etc. Every rep that calls me is confused. This company is crazy and disorganized. I dont trust doing business with anyone who tries to bully customers and then bill them for something they never received. Everyone knows after Trugreen performs a service, they leave information at your house, a sign in your yard, and they send you a confirmation email. None of those things happened because the services never happened. Now 7 weeks later I am waiting on GM to call me and clear this issue up once and for all. I hired another company weeks ago. I would never recommend Trugreen based on my experience.

Right now Im not happy with the brown spots in my yard.

I like the results as my lawn is beginning to take shap, however, it has been impossible to speak with a local person to address some concerns Ive had. Ive tried on a number of occasions and the only person I can get is somewhere at a national call center and they are never able to help. Last time, after an hour on the phone, I asked them to have a local manager call me and never received one.

We had a lot of weeds this year I had to call twice to come out and spray but still a lot of quack grass and weeds on the perimeters nice folks just seem to be not as effective this year

Who sprays poisions on a wet/soaked lawn? TruGreen does. Used them in the past an they were great old tech was keem or something an had 0 issues. Started back up this year with different tech and that was a mistake. They spray in the rain and the weeds never died this time. Customer service is a hit or miss. Very unprofessional 1/5

Incorrect billing and then took the funds from a bank account I had linked a year prior that belongs to my EX husband. They must be desperate for money. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Bad customer service. We were sent up on autopay they took all their money every month and put us on collection. What kind of scam are you running?

This place calls me non stop to get me to sign up with their service. I ve told them repeatedly to TAKE ME OFF THEIR LIST. I ve had to go so far as to block the numbers that they call from. Tonight was the finally straw. They called me at 7:15 and when I didn t answer, they didn t leave a voice mail. But what they did do is TEXT ME. I get bombarded by emails, phone calls and now text messages? That is why I decided to go with a local company out of Bay City. Stay far away from this company, that is unless you want endless phone calls and text messages.

Had the yard over seeded and had slit seeding done as well as fertilizer application etc. This was done last year 2018. Our backyard was bare and had very few patches of grass in it so they did slit seeding (based on my own research it was done incorrectly to boot) Front yard was decent but had moss and some bare spots so that was overseeded as well as fertilized The results were awful. Everything germinated and grew in....than it all died. We have irrigation that we ran all last year as we were directed to do. Fast forward to 2019 all of our grass is GONE! Pure dirt. Front yard overseeding looks awful as well...nothing looks thicker or greener. Infact I would say it looks in worse condition than when it was started. We have been calling the company over and over to get a refund for the slit seeding...theyre giveing us the run around. We have a part shade backyard and the corporate office told us that they dont have shade seed mix! Whaaattt?? Theyre the professionals here....why were we told that a LAWN CARE SPECIALIST TruGreen could solve the issue GUARANTEED but they FAILED! I have expressed my concern and frusteration to them only to hear them ask me to sign up and spend hundreds more of my dollars on a services that FAILED! I am tired of dealing with this company and I will be looking for true professionals for the job next time. Do yourself a favor and stay away from TruGreen.

My experience with this company was very distasteful and disappointing. I signed up for and insecticide and fungicide treatment. Followed by a healthy lawn spray (grass feed). I was told that the first visit would be only $29.95. And the second visit would be $40.The first service tech came and sprayed the fungicide and insecticide. One hour later, a second guy came to spray the grass feed. Under the assumption that I would only be charged $69.95 plus tax, I gave over my debit card number, only to my surprise, the very next day I checked my account transactions, and noticed two transactions had been made to my account that was very surprising to me. The first for $29.95, and a second for $80. I called and inquired about the discrepancy. I was told that a mistake was made, and that I should call a particular number, explain my discrepancy and ask for a refund. I have been on a rollercoaster ride ever since. And, still am without my refund. Yet, this PROFESSIONAL company took my debit card number, promising A-1 service, and produced the complete opposite.

We have been a long time customer but the last two years the service has been a down hill run. For some reason this year they cancelled our lawn service. Have seen their trucks pull into the driveway and leave. I have called several times and cannot get a response from anyone who knows whats going on. So now we will try to find another company. Probably more local so I can get a response.

Having TruGreen manage my lawn care has been one of my best decisions ever. My grass is very green, thick, lush, and weed free. I even have strangers stopping by to ask what Im doing for it to look the way it does. My only function in the process is to do the watering when necessary. The lawncare techs are all very knowledgeable, competent, and friendly. Costs for their services are very reasonable.

First visit was a week later than schedule, tech was very professional, have no contact on what they do next , supposed to remove moss, replant grass ? Have had no contact since first visit not impressed so far .

Horrible service! Left bald patches in my front yard & applied weed control over freshly planted grass seed. When confronted, they said I don t think it will be a problem would not give a clear answer. Canceled service after being tossed around.

If I could give one-half star I would.... All talk, no action as to Customer Service. While they may provide pretty service tickets after lawn service - it stops there. If technicians are trained, it is not obvious in their work and customer interaction. Poor clean up after aeration and very careless application of overseeding. Honesty and integrity are not strong points in this organization. A few years back, I was repeatedly told by a manager that if I remained with their service and continued aeration and overseeding, the quack grass in our lawn would be gone in several seasons. I am not a fool. While their service may reduce presence of crab grass, it will not reduce - or eliminate - quack grass. Equipment used is often not sized to the job or latest available. Use TruGreen only at great risk.

No respect for customers time

They came to their account, my next door neighbors home, to apply their product. Theyd spread their product through out the neighbors yard, and also flung it inside my pond... Costing me roughly 130.00 in product to save my koi fish. When i contact Mike Tackett at the freeland office, he seemingly couldve cared less. Swore the product was fiah freindly. I was directed to contact their supplier of the products they use. I contacted them, and they could not back the statement that it was fish friendly. Tried several times to get tru green to make the situation right... But to no prevail. Luckily enough, were from a tight niche community and their services will no longer be accepted in out neighborhood. Terrible ethics and business practice. Couldnt even get an apology.

if you want an unending supply of junk mail for the rest of your life, then give these guys a call. they have absolutely no respect for their customers. i must have called them 20 times to ask to be taken off their distribution list, but to no avail. they will call my phone and ask me to sign back up too. theyre relentless. i had their service like five years ago, but they still send me stuff. i mean outside of hiring a lawyer to get a cease and desist order, i dont think theres anything you can do. regarding their actual product, i cant say i noticed any difference w/ or w/o it. my lawn seems to have a few patches of crabgrass or clover either way. maybe if i was totally covered in weeds it would have been beneficial. cant say. anyway, i cant say enough how much i hate these guys. they have the most aggressive marketing campaign ive ever seen. worse than credit cards. hate Hate HATE these fers

Not dissatisfied with the service per say. Dissatisfied with the fact that they dont listen to me. I work third shift and have now asked them nine times not to call me during the middle of the day and they continue to do so. I spoke to two different reps today, the one said she would call first thing in the morning to not wake me up....and then called me back at 6 pm. I have been placed on their do not call list and they continue to call. I finally had to just blocked the number. Edit: 5 months later- after repeated requests for them not to call me. They are still calling me. Im considering filing a consumer complaint. This is ridiculous. Dont get their service unless you like being harassed.

Just got off the phone with a call center representing TruGreen, wanted to add services (almost doubling the cost per year) to our existing account. We have been a customer for approximately 12 years. They would not add services unless we put a credit card on file and had our services billed that way. I told her I just wanted to continue to be invoiced as previously and that if I had to add the card I wouldnt add the services, She absolutely said I dont care if you add the services or not. So, if someone from Freelend MI doesnt call me soon, I will be looking for another company to provide not only the new service but also the current services they provide. Great customer service TruGreen. I recommend firing that employee before she costs you more business. Her name was Sandy

Will not be a return customer. This is the first year we used TruGreen and it will be the last. My husband does a better job than this. The first two applications were great and after that the services was less than superior. We had to call to get our paper work...twice, and my husband had to retreat the weeds himself which defeated the purpose of us paying a company to handle this for us. Additionally, our sales person said we would receive 8 applications between May and November. Come to find out this was incorrect. I would be able to get more information from him, but now his cell phone is not accepting phone calls. From a customer experience standpoint, this is not how a company should be performing. We will go back to handling our own lawn care, or find another company to do business with.

As a homeowner I take pride in my yard and work many hours outside taking care of my flower beds and lawn. I hired TruGreen last summer and in less then 4 months they totally destroyed my lawn. The grass was totally burned away by chemicals used and the service people continued to come applying Trugreen products to a lawn they turned into a mud bath. Who fertilizers dirt??? So I can only assume that this company cares very little about its customers. I have to have it totally reseeded. The company has very poor customer service and even after cancelling them midsummer they continued to come and spray their chemicals on a lawn they destroyed. I would recommend that no one use this service ever. Its a horrible company. It is going to cost almost $3000 to fix what they destroyed. I would never recommend this company to anyone ever. If you value your lawn, stay away from Trugreen.

I would refer True Green to any home owner that prides their lawn. I spent many hours and dollars trying to achieve a beautiful lawn, and was so disappointed in my results. I had a knock on my door, and much to my surprise a True Green specialist. A very nice, and informative young lady (Mandy) took the time to go over the issues I was having. She was very thorough and explained the many issues with my lawn. She devised a plan for me. I am very satisfied with my program. I no longer have the hassle, and I look forward to enjoying my beautiful yard again this summer.

Pathetic, Pathetic service!!! Beware! This company is a complete scam! They lure you in with discounts and promises of money back guarantee and burn your lawn up. We payed up for their Lawn Fertilization program, and they said they would maintain and make the lawn even more lush than it already is. Instead, we were seeing bald patches in our lawn, to which the technician who used to come out to apply fertilizer seemed to have absolutely no idea why it was happening. They left notes saying that the trees and shrubs around was getting infested as well and how we should invest some more money on other plans with them. This is just a money making racket. On seeing no results we called and reprimanded to which they said we do not do full refunds and said they would come and seed the area. This seems to have not helped at all. Our yard is a mess!!!! And will take a lot of $$ to fix the mess. TruGreen is PoorGreen!!!!!

Your product is good and whenever I have an issue it is addressed quickly. I get a better result and at a lower price than I can do myself...let alone making sure it is done in a timely manner. Sometimes I think you take more pride in my lawn than I do. Thanks!!!

Horrible customer service and the sales rep talked me out of doing business with them. Lol. I went with another company that was much cheaper and valued my business.

The sales representative guaranteed a service that Tru Green does not even provide. I had to call an average of 3 times to get answers to questions. After many calls to customer service my bank account t was credited for an incorrectly done slit seeding. I have clover, creeping Charlie, crab grass and other broadleaf weeds in my front and back yard. A rep came to take care of them after I called to complain. The person lied and said he knocked on my door as my husband was home and watching him. He did one small section in my front yard and never even went on the backyard. The GM was to visit my property according to customer service and it has been 2 weeks with zero contact. I called last week and canceled my account. I have yet to receive the refund of remaining balance. I called again today and was told the account was never canceled by Tammie in Customer Care. She has assured me that as of 7/13 my account has been canceled. No one else from Trugreen is to be on my property and I should have the $300 and something remaining balance in my account in 7-10 days. Hopefully its true this time.

each time I had to call and remind them to come. chemicals applied did not work as they said , call several times . They even reseeded an area last fall, The lawn is still bad in that area.They were good about coming out but not about taking care of the lawn issues. I would recommend them for their tree serviced. They do a good job with trees not lawns.
