Ive taken down the previous review and re-engaged services with this company. Initial impressions are very positive. The new ownership team has certainly gone above and beyond in being a best in class service provider. Im looking forward to working with them going forward. Disregard any review or response from 4 years ago.

Very professional and experienced crew. Had a large system put in with 8 zones and they went through each zone with me and also found issues with quality and fixed them on the spot. They did a great job.

They were very proficient & professional, worked exceptionally well together as a team, extremely thoughtful & courteous and very diligent in their work!! Commonwealth Irrigation was great to work with once again. They installed my irrigation system years ago and it is still working well today. Alex, the original installer of the system, maintains my property each year though his co-workers are also very qualified to do the work as well (on occasion we have had other technicians handle minor repairs). Today the crew came out and adjusted my system to work more efficiently and save on water and time of watering. Great work and very reliable!

Only stars given for the pleasant attitude of the service tech. I received a cold call regarding an annual contract to start up, close down, and one service call for my system. I told the person on the phone what wonderful timing, because there were repairs that I knew my system needed. Jokes on me, read your contract more closely than I did (not)!! The service appointment is an $80 value just for them to come out to your property. This does NOT include any labor OR any work being done. Unfortunately, the item I specifically notated that needed to be addressed was a significant additional cost. At this point, I did not realize that a fence I had installed just a few days prior had rendered the majority of my system useless, as the sprinklers are outside of the fence line (and apparently not even within my property boundaries). The technician did not bring this to my attention before telling me of the required repair. Oh, work deadline and being repeatedly interrupted, I quickly agreed to the repair. It wasn t until after it was done, and I was charged over $700, that I was told the rest of the system was basically useless. Additionally, I was charged over $20 to cap a sprinkler head that I had originally requested be capped, although again, and didn t need to be done once the system was rendered useless. The company and technician could have easily saved the time and effort; shame on me for not thinking of specifically stating this no longer needed to be done since I had told the technician to go ahead and turn off the system. I asked for my annual contract to be canceled and prorated, (don t need a winterization for system that can t be utilized) and for that refund to be applied to my outrageous repair bill. However, (again, read your contract), come to find out that once a technician comes out to the property, no prorated refund will be given. Not a very common practice, but I suppose when you provide a poor customer service, you have to have clauses like this in place. I was only using this company because I was told by the builder they were who installed the original system. I will never use them again, nor can I in good faith recommend them to anyone. I take responsibility for not reading every word of the contract or asking more questions. I mistakenly thought I was in good hands. I hold the business responsible for a lack of professionalism and, in my opinion, poor ethical practices.

I wanted to share a review for Commonwealth Irrigation. Weve used them for five years and we have zero complaints. While everything hasnt been perfect (thats life), the constant was Commonwealth Irrigations dedication to their customer base. When you take some time to connect with one of their employees, show them your system, ask questions and in return you will save yourself money with a small amount of participation. As the owner take part in the system upkeep throughout the year (i.e., ensure valve boxes are clean of debris, summer/winter grass isnt blocking access etc.) it makes their jobs that much easier. Absolutely great service. From the time I signed the contract to time of install it took a total of 3 days. I was expecting at least 2 weeks before they could install. Hands down one of the best companies Ive used since living in my home.

The worst ever. I Do not plan to use the ever again. HAD THEN FOR15 YESRS NOW THEY CAN NOT RETURN A PHONE CALL OR FET A TECH OUT ON TIME. THEY ARE GONE FROM MY LIST OF CONTRSCTORS

Good luck getting them to answer the phone. Paid for the annual opening and closing for 2023. They schedule me for opening on a day when I am not home and I call and reschedule. Tech shows up on the original day, I call and they say not sure what happen, sorry, and you are on the schedule for the 28th. 28th comes and goes, no one shows up. Call 4 times throughout the day, get voice mail and no return call. Call again on Monday, person has no clue and says I have to call you back. No call back, voice mail again. Update: I was contacted by the owner who apologized for the delay and had someone out the very next day.

Common Wealth is a bad company because they do not follow through on the basis of what needs to be done. I waited for them to come back to my house and finish a job they started 3 days ago. My advice is dont deal with this company. I thought they were reliable. I should have read the reviews before working with them.

Everything was straightforward. Prices were fair. Employees were thorough, and communication was always clear.

This company was sold after we had contracted them to install sprinkler system which seems like some sprinklers were substituted. They are not responsive, and did not respond when I called about a potential leak. Difficult to get someone on the phone. However, they are very diligent about sending out a invoice over 275.00 winterization. The person comes out for 5 minutes or less.

Had several issues due to handover in management. Talked to Matt and Alex who walked through everything and handled the miscommunications, more importantly they are making things right. I changed my review to reflect this. Much appreciated.

Commonwealth Irrigation & Landscape did an amazing job with repairing my sprinkler system. The tech, Sampson, was customer service friendly and professional. He went above and beyond. While I expect a technician to be skilled in the work they are performing, which Sampson was..., my decision, however, to continue doing business with a company is determined by whether or not a company can deliver great customer service. Sampson indeed exceeded the bar.

Had an irrigation problem. They jumped right in to remove the issue. Recommend you use this group. We plan to request major landscape quotes for installs and annual maintenance. Will followup in future reviews.

They contracted to do work and then they bailed on us. Wouldn t ever trust them.

I called twice last week and spoke with Tracey to schedule an appointment and was told both times that not until she is able to talk to the scheduler she would call me back with an appointment. The second time I called her, she must have been having a bad day due to her demeanor and being so short with me. I have used Commonwealth a number of times over the past 15 years and never had a problem in scheduling an appoinment nor in the quality of their work. As a followup, Tracey did call the day after this review was posted and left a message indicating that they did want to followup behind my work when in fact my intial request was for Commonwealth to install my irrigation pump in lake behind the house. Commonwealth installed my first irrigation pump around 13 years ago. Nonetheless, I had an electrician come over to take care of the install.

Very responsive and professional techs and company.

This company decided to call me a liar instead of fixing the issue. Im not a liar. I however do have dead trees because they never completed the work that I needed. I stand by my review. They are horrible. They came in April without having enough time to complete all of the work that we needed. My husband showed them everything that we needed done. They said that theyd have to come back. We couldnt get them back until June. They came when I was home with my special needs child. I didnt expect to have to show them what needed to be done, again. Since I couldnt drop everything and leave my special needs child unattended they are trying to charge me almost $80. Without ever finishing the work. How many times should someone tell them what needs to be done? They should have finished the first time or at least written down what needed to be done when they came back out. When I called they tried to tell me that they dont have it in their notes from April that they didnt complete everything. Pretty convenient, that they want to get paid by me to not do anything. Lets use our brains here if youd have finished everything in April then why would you come back in June? Theres a reason they have such low ratings on Yelp they suck. Their staff is unprofessional, as they hung up on me. They accused me of yelling when I never even raised my voice. Just ridiculous!!!

Amazing service! The gentlemen who came out to winterize our sprinklers even took the time to give us some helpful advice about our setup since were new to all this.

What a mess!!!!! We hired them to do our irrigation and they yes ed us to death and then didn t do what they said. We wanted the heads to be flush with the ground and they are not . They stick way up from the ground and they are an eye sore!!!!!!

I live in the SUMMERLAKE COMMUNITY ON SALEM STATION BLVD. THIS COMPANY HAS A CONTRACT TO DO THE LAWNS FOR US. THE QUALITY OF THE WORK THEY DO IS VERY POORLY DONE. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CONTINUITY OR PLAN ON HOW THEY CUT, TRIM AND BLOW THE GRASS CLIPPINGS. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. I WORK IN A BIGBOX STORE SND SEE MANY CONTRACTORS.

Nothing but great things to say about my experience with Commonwealth Irrigation from setting up the consultation to installation. I have referred them out and will continue to do so to any friends, family and neighbors in the market for an irrigation system.

Actually, they didnt perform anything, thats the problem. They said they performed winterization, but did not. They didnt realize that someone was home and watched as they sat in the car the whole time, after they said you dont need to be there for winterization, Then sent a bill, and tried to charge interest.

This is an excellent company that is knowledgeable, reasonable and followed through. Thank you very much and we love our sprinkler system. Above and beyond our expectations

We partner with Commonwealth on a distributor level. They are a great company to work with. Very professional and knowledgeable staff. I wish I had many more customers like them.

I am highly unsatisfied with the customer service from Commonwealth Irrigation. We hired them to come perform a mandatory backflow test required by the town. Once the tech came out he assured me that the test would be sent to the town by their office the following morning (I has asked him to leave the report with me so that I could turn it in however he told me some of the numbers he needed were back at the office). It wasnt until we received a certified letter in the mail from the town two months later, informing us that they would turn our water off because they had not received our backflow test report, did we realize that Commonwealth had not turned in the paperwork. After contacting Commonwealth, I was told that they didnt have anything on my file and would need to connect with the tech the following morning. After NO return call, I called them the following afternoon to ask for a status update. They told me that they were going to email the report to the town. I asked whether they had sent the form in originally and they said that they had no record to confirm that it was sent originally. I asked to be put in touch with the manager to rectify the situation further and waited for two weeks before receiving a phone call from Alex. While he agreed that there should have been something in our account that marked the job as complete he was not willing to offer a refund or solution for how to avoid this issue going forward.

Poor service and poor communication. When you call the office, you cannot speak to a service manager, technician, or even the owner himself. Shannon, the apparent dispatcher/secretary will only take messages and pass it along to the appropriate people even if its an urgent matter. Last week, we requested that someone come out and fix our system that has been leaking for over a week. On 06/20, technician Robert came to check our system while we werent home. We had no idea he came to the house other than placing a red flag in our yard that advised us to please call Commonwealth Irrigation. This was a Friday after 5PM and the place was closed for the day. Our system continued to leak water all weekend long because you CANT call someone on the weekend. Theyre closed. Called first thing Monday morning and of course only allowed to talk to Shannon. Shannon would not even give me a phone number for Robert so that I can speak to him regarding the issue. Shannon would not even provide me a phone number for Alex Herring, the service manager. Shannon stated that she cannot give out personal phone numbers. This is a business. Why would you not have a business phone number so that I can speak with the people responsible for handling a product Ive paid good money for? Why cant I speak with someone immediately regarding a leak that is destroying my yard? Shannon wouldnt even give me the name of the owner of the company. I had to ask her 10 times before she finally told me the name of Rodney Covington, but again, would not provide me a phone number for Rodney. This company is completely bogus, unprofessional, and a complete scam. I will be reporting them to the BBB. Please take my advice and go elsewhere for services.

I called to get an estimate on some projects at my house and received an appointment in two days. The owner showed up and understood exactly what I needed. Very professional and knowledgeable! I had an estimate within 24 hours. I am truly looking forward to them doing my project; more to follow after the project is done. The reason I wanted to post this prior to the project starting is because I had four other companies out to my house prior to Commonwealth. It took weeks to get them out for an estimate and they had no thought process on design and took weeks to get back to me.

These people are completely unprofessional. We repeatedly asked for an estimate and they send us a bill for $175 for replacing a couple of sprinkler heads. This is the kind of business they conduct. Beware of them !!

Commonwealth Irrigation cracked our driveway running pvc under it for our irrigation system. We had them out several times to fix the issue. All they would do is patch the asphalt with some sort of tar looking substance from a tube and say, that should take care of it, if not we will talk with an asphalt company next year if the problem persists until we were out of warranty now they say there is nothing we can do now that it has finally cracked all the way across the driveway. BEWARE!

They came to fix my irrigation system is he said oh it s fixed $180 second day I turn my irrigation system on before I go to work I came back and night time in the irrigation system was still running so I was so tired of trying to fix it I couldn t so it was running all day all night in the morning I tried to shut it off from the main gets I got my water bill over $700 I called The manager his name is Alex the meanest rudest person in earth goes like I was nothing I can do for you. Don t use this company Z don t know how to fix stuff there very expensive and so rude . Don t waste your time your money with this people

Disregard the Yelp review regarding customer service. Probably based on one guy having a bad day. Ive dealt with them multiple times and the entire team is awesome. They continue to go out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction.

They came out to install our irrigation system and we could not be happier. Very professional, great customer service and it was a very smooth process. The crew members took time to explain every step of the installation even when there was a small hiccup with the electricity (Dominions fault, not theirs) and explained things to our neighbors, etc. We didnt have to do a thing. Im really happy with the work this company did for us and would recommend them.

Ive had four Irrigation companies in several homes over the years, and Commonwealth is by far the worst! They installed my sprinkler system and the layout is terrible! It doesnt cover all the grass areas, leaving many yellow areas of grass. They use the cheapest materials, per another Irrigation company. But most damaging is, Ive had three leaks in 2.6 years from their improper install. They tell you they bury the pipes 6 in the ground, yet every leak that was dug up the pipes were only buried 1 or less! Therefore, any pressure at all on the pipe will crack it , which is how all three leaks occured. Im anticipating more leaks because of this. Commonwealth will not fix any of their faulty work if you dont stay contracted with them. This puts the homeowner in a no win situation. Why on Earth would we stay with a company that is beyond terrible!! We are looking to hire a lawyer as the entire system of pipes need to be properly buried, at which they refuse to do!

I am absolutely thrilled with the work this organization recently did for me. I had a drainage problem in my backyard that was well beyond my ability to figure out. On the recommendation of a close friend, I called Mike and he was out to inspect quickly, drew up a solution and price, and completed the work in the space of a few weeks exceeding my expectations. His crew knows what they are doing, very professional, answered all my questions, adjusted the work during the service call per my request, and could not have been more accommodating. Most companies only give lip-service to customer focus. These guys live it. Give them a call and I guarantee you will be as satisfied as I am. Commonwealth installed a French drain along one side of my house, just for safekeeping. Everyone involved was terrific: the person who priced and continued to check the job, the two fellows who did the actual work. The company is one that I would definitely hire again.

Very Please with my Installation. Billy was very attentive to what I wanted and worked with me on the system to build exactly what I wanted. Competitive prices. I would recommend to family and friends.

Top notch customer service. For our latest job we did a big mulch job in the back yard. I asked many questions via email and ALWAYS received a reply from Mike at Commonwealth. Sometimes within just a couple of hours or at 6 in the morning. You just dont see this level of service very often anymore. The job was completed and looks great! Highly recommend Commonwealth.

Have been billed twice for a leak they have not fixed and I still have and most recently billed for a spring start up service they clearly didnt do. There were supposed to come out to repair a valve that we called about because none of the heads where popping up. When we called to explain that no one came out and the system still isnt working we were met with rudeness and unwillingness to make it right. They clearly did not come out as there was no way for them to get into the locked garage without ringing the doorbell which no one had and we were home all day, not too mention all of the 30 sprinkler heads were covered by winter grass and none of the heads could come up. Yet, their invoice stated, start up complete and working well. Will never use them again.

The crew spent 3 days at our house landscaping and installing sprinklers. The yard looks wonderful; you cant even tell any irrigation work was done. Professional, on time and friendly!! We will be returning customers and will pass your card to others. Thank you!

Have had service for about two years, just recently cancelled and was going to restart but after speaking with someone on the phone named Tracy, I backed out. She is rude and doesnt know how to speak with people. I highly recommend finding another company.
