Been a customer for years. May not be the cheapest but great quality and their employees are exemplary. Once their technician found a dollar bill in my yard and he placed it under my mat! I value this kind of honesty. Another time, their technician worked on the problem area of my yard around the trees with the huge power seeding machine. All of us in the house were commenting that he was really trying and how hard it must have been. The next year that area was covered with grass! Once I was unhappy with the service and the manager immediately contacted me and visited my house. The problem was immediately fixed. Yes, I highly recommend this company for your mosquito treatment and lawn management.

I have used several other lawn services but Lawn Doctor is better than the rest. Would definitely recommend them.

Appreciate the follow-up and return visit to address my concerns. Recommend additional information be provided to consumers on what power seeding does and does not do beforehand, based on soil conditions. In retrospect, would have completed aerated before seeding.

I called this company to aerate my yard. I received a call on Wednesday, 10/13/2021, stating that someone will be out there the following day. I work from home, so I would know when someone shows up. No one did, I called at 4 PM and was assured that someone would be there. No one came. I followed up with them on Friday, 10/15/2021. The office said that someone was there the day before for the last stop of the day. I went outside to check and there were no aeration plugs. He continued to claim that the work had been done. I told him I needed someone here by noon to actually do the work, he said that would not happen. I asked for my money back, he said have a nice day and hung up. They did not answer the phone again when I called throughout the day. I ended up calling the credit card company to report fraud.

Lawn Doctor of Stafford has proven to be a responsive, thorough company that performs excellent work and is quick to respond to questions and concerns regarding my lawn. On those rare occasions when a re-application was necessary, it was done promptly. I have been using their services for 14 years and plan to continue using their services.

My lawn was a disaster but after hiring Lawn Doctor its looking much better. They are there when they say they are coming and the technician who came last visit (social distancing) gave my wife and I great tips to help our lawn get better.

This company did a good job aerating my lawn. The price was fair and reasonable. Will use them again in the fall. Tom.

Our lawn was a total disaster following our poor attempt to repair after a well being dug. Now it is full and green and actually looks like a lawn. The service is timely and comes and goes quietly and always leaves a record of what has been done.

Over the course of 3 visits the issue with my lawn was identified, and 2 applications to my lawn were performed. I m already seeing a difference. The staff is friendly and the service techs are very good. I was previously using Trugreen and I can say there s definitely a difference.

The absolute worst lawn care service I ve ever encountered. Office staff is rude. After over two years with little to no results they decided to cancel my lawn service without any notification. The feeling is actually mutual I am so dissatisfied with their service however I expected they were coming out to apply the spring treatment for crabgrass prevention and they didn t even notify me that they weren t going to provide service this year. This hass to be applied at a specific time and if they let me known that I could ve got another company and or done it myself. Highly recommend to avoid this company

Office staff is completely unprofessional and blatantly rude. They dont answer their phone or return calls. We never got our service and are still waiting on our $550 deposit to be refunded. Virginia Green Lawn Care is cheaper and friendlier :) EDIT: They never returned my call from Oct 5th which is why my wife then called on the 9th. Also, instead of being combative in your responses, posting dates and times with absolutely no proof whatsoever, why dont you touch on how your office manager yelled at my wife on the phone for 7 minutes when she was trying to get our deposit back? :)

After a really negative experience with corporate and this franchise, we finally had someone show up to do our lawn. He knocked on the door and said he couldnt do it because of the leaves in our yard. In October...shocking. We had someone IN PERSON come gives us an estimate and he mentioned NOTHING about it being our responsibility to remove the leaves. I called the franchise for a refund but they literally never answer their phone. I left a message about all of this and they call back. The first thing the woman said was WE RETURN ALL OF OUR CALLS AND OPEN AT 9AM **LIKE MOST BUSINESSES***. Wow, really? Also, every page they have online says 8am. Didnt even address my poor service experience, disappointment, or the $550 they have of mine. She then proceeded to stay on the phone and argue with me for 7 minutes. She said I DONT KNOW ANYONE WHO THINKS GRASS CAN GROW THROUGH LEAVES probably (literally) 15 times. She was clearly trying to insult me. I explained that I did not think that, just would have liked to know it was our responsibility. I seriously cannot believe how someone SO RUDE could work in a customer service role.

Our yard still looks bad no care from them anytime I call no one answers and when I do talk to them they don t help and are ignorant I would not recommend this company to anyone

Summer 2019 was extraordinarily hot and dry in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Sod laid in December 2018 weathered the heat OK, except on a steep, south-facing hillside exposed to direct sun rays most of the day. The grass cutter had cut the sod too short on that slope, most of it had died by midsummer, the pre-emergent herbicide apparently wore out, and crabgrass took over the slope. On Saturday afternoon 6Jul19, I called Lawn Doctor because they treat a neighbors beautiful lawn. Within an hour or so, the president of Lawn Doctor, Stafford, Virginia, returned my call: he said Marvin, their lawn foreman, would come to our home Tuesday morning at 0730. Marvin showed up on time and described Lawn Doctors technology. He recommended power seeding in September and said he would come on 5Sep19 to get started. He said I would be wasting my time to pull up the crab grass because it would die in cold weather anyway. As promised, on 5Sep19 he measured the lawn, and two days later they power seeded the lawn. Lawn Doctor has special seed that promises 90% germination with no weed seeds. I had pulled out crabgrass from two thirds of the slope, so I was able to compare the results of weeding out crabgrass and letting it grow. Lawn Doctors patented power seeder works as advertised: cultivator blades open up soil, a seed bin drops fresh seed, and a second set of cultivator blades covers up much of the seed. Our irrigation-sprinkler system kept the seed wet enough for the seed to germinate fairly quickly. Results are shockingly good! I never expected grass to grow so well, and was resigned to either laying new sod or planting ground cover on the slope. Where about half the sod had survived on the eastern steep slope, the fresh seed filled in nicely, but on the southern two-thirds where I pulled up crabgrass it looked like some of the new seed had washed away. I called Lawn Doctor to buy some more seed for that slope, and Erin said she would ask Marvin to check our lawn within a week or so. Well, the following morning a man dressed in a suit knocked on our front door. He introduced himself as Chris, the president of Stafford Lawn Doctor, and he asked to take a look at our lawn. He said not to worry, the seed would still germinate. So I agreed to wait and started to hose water the strip between the street and sidewalk where the city easement prohibits sprinklers. I honestly cannot believe how beautiful the lawn looks now. Everything Lawn Doctor promised came true! I suggested they offer their power seeding in place of sod. Our steep slope is hard Virginia clay, although we did have a layer of topsoil laid as a base for the sod last December, and what had not washed away may have helped the seed germinate so well. As for leaving the crabgrass in place? It felt good to tear it out, it was good exercise, and when the new grass came up, it was smooth green. But the old crabgrass seemed to shield the new grass from the sun and may have prevented rain from washing new seed away. S/F H. Wayne Gardner

This business is a joke! My yard has NEVER looked worse since treatment! I have LESS grass and MORE weeds!!! I sure had to pay the bill on time when I feel like they should be paying ME!!!! I followed ALL instructions left under the doormat....and they didnt even complete the last service or treatment of my contract!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! And....NO....customer service does NOT care!!!

My lawn doesnt look any better and the technician complained because there were THREE piles of dog poop in my back yard. I got an email telling me that the dog waste was unacceptable and in the future we should just service the side and front yard. Im a very good dog owner and a clean person. I dont like having judgement passed because one technician didnt want to do his job that day. Insulting and ineffective . I stopped the service.

If you have issues with service, dont expect them to bother even trying to make it right. Youll get excuses or in my case, even blamed for the problem. Theres plenty of other lawn care services in the area. Id recommend giving your business to one that doesnt argue with their customers, or at least to one that calls you when they arent going to show up.

Great family operated business with attention to customer detail. The service takes the worry out of having to apply the appropriate nutrients and feed these lawns need. Dont fool yourself by skimping on the costs because theres nothing better than a healthy green lawn and will increase the value of your home. The programs are a fraction of what your total costs would be if you had to do it yourself, plus Lawn Doctors support is there for your concerns and questions. Great company!

I had a problem with Bermuda grass infecting my lawn three years ago. Lawn Doctor recommended killing my entire lawn, then deep seeding with new grass. My lawn was the absolute worst in the neighborhood that year. After spending over $500 for deep seeding, the Bermuda grass was back the next year - its really hard to get rid of. The 3rd season after the treatment, I stuck with them, and the lawn looked much better, however, the Bermuda grass is still there, and I pull it up whenever it shows itself. I basically wasted my money with their treatment. I still rate them with 4 stars though because they tried to help, but I know Bermuda grass is really difficult to get rid of. Lawn Doctor was responsive to my calls, but the doctor didnt cure the patient. I will continue to use their service because most of the lawn looks nice, even though the Bermuda grass areas are very visible if you look for it. Most people looking at my lawn will not notice it, but I know its there.

I am very pleased with the service I receive from Lawn Doctor, this is the 3rd year Ive had their services. I was unsure of their services initially as my yard went through its transformation. The techs addressed my concerns and explained the processes my yard would go through due to weather and treatments. It is gorgeously green and the grass has a strong healthy look. This particular lawn doctor in my opinion is HORRIBLE. They decimated/killed my entire lawn. They admitted that the technician mistakenly grabbed the wrong chemical and applied it to my entire lawn, the only surviving patch was a patch that a tarp had blown onto, it survived. Thank goodness the tech was to lazy to move it also. The owner came out and initially tried to say it was a disease, lol. Then later stated what really happened. He also stated it had happened to several other lawns on this technicians route. They said they would make good on repair. Some seeding and weed pulling and they claimed to be done. This year my former beautiful lawn is a shadow of its former self and looks worse than my neighbors who dont even use a professional lawn service. If I could give negative stars I would certainly do so.

This is the absolute worst lawn care service I have ever used, and Ive been using services for many years. I went with them because they were much less expensive than the service I was using. What a mistake. The only evidence I ever saw of them servicing my lawn was the bill attached to my door. After one season of service my lawn looks the worst it has ever been in years. You can see a literal line between my neighbors on either side (who use TrueGreen) and my lawn which is completely over run with weeds. Never once did I see any evidence of granular fertilizer. When I called to complain they offered nothing to help except that my lawn needed aeration and over seeding which was supposed to be a free service included with my package. Its mid-October and they claimed that in order for me to get my free aeration I had to pay for two more services. November and December?? I refused and they refused to honor what was promised. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. This the only service this company provides is hand delivery of a bill to your door. They did NOTHING for my lawn .
