We were very impressed by the snow removal service provided by Maj Lawncare Inc. They did a great job clearing the walks, and were careful not to get snow on our neighbor s walk. The team was friendly and helpful. While I hope there isn t too too much snow this winter, it s a relief to know Maj will be here to dig us out!

We recently had a fall cleanup and they nailed it. Bushes sculpted, lawns edges beautifully around the beds and walkways, all waste gone. Our yard looks fantastic and they waited until our large tree dropped all its leaves, so it should look great for awhile.

Excruciatingly annoying and cocky behavior by the workers with absolutely zero respect to surrounding neighborhood. Blocking two ends of the sidewalk with their truck and trailer and would refuse to relocate when asked nicely. Wouldn t do business with these folks.

As new homeowners, my husband and I didn t know which direction to go when looking into landscaping our yard. We had a vision and a 10 year dream however, we were determined to at least start this year. We received plenty of quotes, but something stood out about the way Mason dealt with us from the initial site visit to the formal proposal. He was patient and not pushy at all, making us feel comfortable throughout the entire process. The on-site crew took their time and walked us through what they were doing and why, ensuring we were always in the loop. With about .5 acres of land, these guys had their work cut out for them. The entire team was truly a joy to work with, and didn t complain at all even though with that much work, I wouldn t blame them haha! Anywho, we had never seen our yard so clean! We started with a spring cleaning, and eventually want to get a few trees taken down along with some beautification projects. I look forward to working with them on many projects to come. As a new homeowner, I initially went with Maj Lawncare because I wanted to support a local business with a young entrepreneurial team. I prematurely originally gave them a 5 star rating because they are very adamant about getting these reviews. I worked with Maj Lawncare for a year (2021-2022) for weekly maintenance and for some smaller landscaping as well. The weekly maintenance started out okay, but the crew mowed over some small planted rose bushes, two garden stake decorations, and left skid marks on the patio. After a year, I received an updated quote from them with updated higher pricing and that s when I decided to try a different landscaping company (I now pay HALF the original price). I also had white marble laid alongside the perimeter of my house, and half of the work was completed and paid for while the other half was to be scheduled post spring. When I contacted them to finish the remaining work, they increased the price even though Maj Lawncare was the one that recommended to wait to complete the job. I would not have waited had I known that the price would have been increased. The contracted price should have been honored. Once again, I got the job completed with a different landscaping company with better quality and at a much cheaper price, despite Maj s quoted rising costs to maintain employees which is not foreign to anyone. I also previously contracted Maj Lawncare to get weeds removed and fresh sod installed in their place, but Maj lawncare reused non-viable sod from the areas where I had the marble laid, and the weeds came back because they were not properly removed. Anytime I asked for quotes, the prices were excessively high (it cost less to have a pool installed in-ground than it would have for Maj Lawncare to lay stones under a 16 foot round above ground pool!), and unfortunately I cannot say that the quality nor service made up for it.

I had the pleasure of working with this group for snow removal. They are responsive and understand the customers needs. I would definitely recommend and use again!

Have used them for years, great job! This year just for mulch installation, they used high quality materials and did a great job. They also relocated 2 raised beds, and also did a great job with no mess.

Mason was a pleasure to work with. From start of planning to Finish I was pleased with the experience. I felt pricing was fair especially for a lot of manual labor that I was not up for doing myself. They removed a lot of debris and cleaned up the property, adding in a large mulch bed under my pine tree and some other areas in elevated planters. Added in a planting bed. All work was satisfactory and completed as planned. Would definitely work with MAJ again for future projects.

Maj Lawncare designed a beautiful garden for the front yard of my Lincoln Square home. Mason was very helpful with offering guidance and suggestions regarding plants that would work well in the space. The young crew worked hard to remove a lot of overgrown prairie grass and to put in burning bushes, astilbe, Russian sage, and ground cover. We were initially very happy with Maj Lawncare; however, it became apparent they did not think through some decisions they made with our planters. We have high wind on our outdoor patio and the screens they installed the year prior were blowing over out of the planters. They were responsive to our concerns and decided the solution was to pour concrete into the planters to hold the planters in place. While the screens have gone no where the planters are now cracking because of the concrete inside and expansion with the freeze and winter temps. I would think a company with expertise would know better. We now have to figure out how to haul all of these planters off our outdoor space and replace them since they all are now showing signs of cracking. Maj took no responsibility and blamed it on the planters (which we were told by another company it is def the concrete). They offered to move the planters but again with a hefty price tag. They also employ emerging college grads which I think is great; however, several of their staff did not seem to care about being careful when inside our unit and damaged walls etc- I even saw one worker run right into our kitchen island with the items they were carting in and out of our unit leaving perm damage.

Maj always does a professional job and responds promptly when we have questions. I would highly recommend them.

They showed up on time, with a force of about 7 people. Completed all the work I requested in record time. Saved me a lot of running back and forth to the store to rent the machines to aerate and dethatch my lawn, not to mention several hours of backbreaking Labor cleaning up the mess I just made. They are not the lowest prices for the service in the market but it is quality work.

I have worked with Maj Lawncare on multiple occasions. Some were just for fall or spring cleanup. They did that quickly and left my garden ready for me to plant, improving the soil year over year. They built me a patio at my old house, and it was done when they said it would be, and done extremely well. They dug down, added gravel for drainage, made certain everything was level and square. After several years it still was in excellent condition. I moved to a place that needs lots of work. They removed large areas of ground covering, conditioned the soil and mulched, leaving it a usable bed. We planted a couple days later and things were in great shape. They also dug out a large area of gravel and conditioned that soil and mulched the area. We have now planted vegetables in a previously unusable place. Their price was reasonable and we plan to have them do lots more work over the next couple of years as we make the yard our own.

Sent a crew of 7 people and knocked out the job quickly. They did a great job, exactly what was agreed on, and left the place clean when they were finished. Taylor was very patient and helpful as my wife and I went back and forth on materials/design decisions. Would highly recommend!

Maj Lawncare is great to work with. Mason was awesome the entire time. His crews were just as great. Our yard has two trees so we don t get a lot of sun. Grass was destroyed from our dogs and wouldn t grow back. Mason was creative and saw the design from the very beginning on what to do. A combination of edging, slate rock and mulch and our backyard look fantastic. Even during the work they were flexible on making sure the shape of everything was exactly what we wanted. Very smooth working with them. They will be our first call whenever we need something done in our yard.

A nice crew that again this year did an excellent spring cleaning of our Bucktown property. We are on a double city lot and they worked for five hours straight on a task that would have taken me most of the summer! Would absolutely recommend and use the team again.

The day of service, the clean up went just as I asked. All was left very clean and ready for spring! I will be booking weekly service to keep up the great looking yard.

We have been using Maj Lawncare for the past 5 years when we are out of town for yard clean-up and snow removal. Mason is very nice, polite and accomodating. His team does a great job, they let you know when they will come over. A lot of our neighbors also use their services, they have done sods and great landscaping by us. We will keep on using them as they are a small neighborhood company that provides great services at a reasonable price.

Don t listen to bad reviews that have all been posted on this date as they are fake. A post spread on facebook telling people to leave bad reviews because the owner has different beliefs than some others. Don t let these reviews reflect what kind of business they do. Maj lawn care does great work and is very professional.

for those who are clients of this company know that all of the low ratings are false. some posts are stating that it is a male who runs the business when clients like my family know it is ran by a female. they offer great work and are very respectful to everyone they encounter.

There is obviously a young disgruntled individual out there trying to sabotage this company. As far as Maj Lawncare being racist, this couldnt be further from the truth. Ive been privileged to watch several Maj Lawncare employees grow from kids to respectable, hard working young adults. These bad reviews are very unfortunate. If your feelings got hurt in some way you should take it up with the individual not the whole company. Thats what mature people would do.
