I've had problems with LawnStarter from the beginning. They promise service on a specific date, then change the date or do not show up at all. The website and the app are useless, as you cannot cancel, pause, or control your service. They make it very difficult to end service. They contract out to random service providers who aren't necessarily good at their job.
Ordered service and the provider did not show up on the scheduled day. Trying to cancel the service and remove myself from LawnStarter right now as I type this review. Unfortunately I have to select a star before I post the review. I would prefer to leave a negative star, but it is not possible.
They scheduled and pro showed up for less than an hour. Left without explanation and suggested a different service and didn't show up. Total waste of time and money. I don't know why this company is still there. Very disappointed!!!

Confirmation of appointment two months in a row, both times mower failed to show. No call or text saying they would not show up. Called customer service both times, got the same story. No resolution on their part. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! 100% UNRELIABLE
Do not use this service. They are horrible. I have been using them for several months this now and have been moved around to 5-6 different contractors because NONE of them ever show up. One of the companies stopped by and blew the leaves of my porch and used the weed hacker on some of the higher spots in my backyard and just called it a day. My lawn looked terrible. My lawn is now severely overgrown because no one has showed up for 2 months. Do Not use this company. They have no accountability and are completely unreliable.
I had used this company a couple of years ago after my husband and I had surgery, and they were decent then. So when our lawnmower went to the shop I signed up again, HUGE mistake!!!! If I could give them negative stars I would. The company/whomever accepted the contract changed three times as did the date for the first mowing…finally got a message and responded to wait one day….they allegedly mowed that day(see pictures). We’ve been trying to get the first mow resolved as I disputed the mow, for over two weeks already….no crew has shown up, three more crew changes since….attempted to work it out with the company….zero satisfaction….I think maybe an investigative report might get them to move a little faster…for your sanity DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
This is a terrible service! They charged my card the $50 and then was a no-show. After trying to make them aware several times they never made an attempt to make it right. In the last call I made, I was told that the crew marked the job “complete” three days ago! Check the Better Business Bureau before using these folk … I wasn’t the first, nor do I think I’ll be the last.

If zero stars were an option . I d take it. This company AND it s sister company/app: Lawn Love completely disappoint in their customer service. Their professionals never show and reschedule to KNOWN rain days in the forecast and then RESCHEDULE AGAIN like it was a surprise it was raining. I will never use their services again. 2 subscriptions for services, 4 different assigned lawn professionals, no one ever showed. Don t waste your time or money. Get on the Nextdoor app and use the teenagers in your neighborhood at least they want the job.
My last mow was great! The crew did a good job of mowing, edging, & getting to hard to reach places. If they continue to do my lawn like this every time I will be happy. There has been alot of rain this spring so my lawn is nice & green. Im still working to get rid of the unwanted grass that took hold when my lawn burned up in August 2022 when I was away for my hip surgeries. However, its shaping up thanks to Lawnstarter! Their website lets you fill out a short form for a one-time Mow quote, and then you talk to someone who will tell you they will not do a one-time mow . Misleading.

AVOID THIS COMPANY! First mow the service pro did not do everything that was promised on the site, I called and the customer service rep said they would have a new person come next mow. The time for the next mow came and went, after two weeks I got a notification that the mow was completed and I saw that my card was charged . No one actually mowed my lawn and the service pro lied. After calling about this they said they were waiting for the service pro to respond to the dispute and would give him a chance to come back to complete it. Almost a week goes by and the guy never comes but again marks it as complete, when I call it turned out the service pro again lied and sent screenshots from google maps as his proof of mowing. Almost a week after this they finally get a new crew out and the mow was completed but this time the company charged me twice. I called and they offered a refund, I ve waited over a week and still no refund.

Usually my experience is good. At the start of the 2022 season, my usual crew was assigned to cut my grass. They came by, saw it didn t need it, reported it to Lawn Starter, and left. I appreciated that. I don t want to be charged for a service I don t need. Unfortunately, shortly thereafter, that crew was no longer available to service my area. Lawn Starter assigned a new crew, and a week later they came and attempted to cut my lawn. The gate to my backyard was locked, so they couldn t complete it. Also, just a week earlier another crew has reported my lawn didn t need it, so a week later with no rain, there still wasn t anything to cut. Yet, I was charged anyway. I m trying to find another lawn service provider. Although I like the convenience and generally like the services they provide, I have grown weary of hassle. Last season I had cancelled my service and started looking for another lawn service provider. I guess I ll resume my search.

My lawn was an out of shape and overgrown from winter and Emma s One Tuff Mama came out on in the time frame they said they would and did a wonderful job cleaning it all up and getting the overgrown edging done neatly and everything mowed and nice looking. Will continue to use them!

Unfortunately I had numerous issues with this company including unreliability, inconsistency with quality, inconsistent pricing, price gouging and more. Today was the final straw, and unfortunately I had to cancel the service altogether and find another provider.
They reschedule the first day they were supposed to come, and claimed it was due to inclement weather although there had been no rain in my area for days. The day he rescheduled came and went with no word from the contracted lawn company. I sent a message and no response was received. This is why I stopped using this service the first time. My lawn mower broke and I was desperate for a mow and thought why not. They obviously don t have a good vetting process.
This company is horrible I do not recommend them. I recently signed up with this company and their service has been horrible. I set up services for lawn maintenance (front and back yard). When my provider came he only cut the front yard , I called the company and they stated that someone would be out the following day and there would be no charge. No one showed and i was fully charged. I called again and the provider came out, his car stopped in front of my house, when I opened the door he drove off. Therefore, I called again and continue to get the same script that every other employee was giving me hes one of our best providers he will take care of you and does not cancel. I was told that my provider has a house ahead of me and he would be on his way. Well once again no one came and I received a citation from the city of irving for tall grass. Please do not hire this company they are inconsistent save your time and money.
They used the trimmer ti cut my whole lawn!!!!!! Grass was barely cut .. grew tall in 5 days as if nothing was done to it.. I am very disappointed
Set up my first app with this company and said how I needed my front and back yard cut and by what day . The lady said no problem will have someone out there before your deadline. No one ever showed up , but I received 2 emails that they where saying well be there early to cut the lawn again no onw showed up . customer service said they reached out them by email and no answer . DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE !!!!!!!!
I scheduled a lawn service for Friday then after submitting the request they changed it to Friday-Monday. Then changed it to Monday or Tuesday, then changed it again to Wednesday or Thursday. All this was done without any communication to me. The only reason I found out was because no one showed up so I checked the app only to see that they had yet again moved the dates my lawn was supposed to be serviced. There was no bad weather to cause any of the delays, they just didn t show up and didn t give a reason. This is very poor customer service and I am canceling my service and will not use them again.

I was quoted one rate but was charged twice as much. After speaking to someone they said my grass was 6ft it was impossible cause my grass was mowed 5 days before they came. I asked for pictures and still couldnt show. I wouldnt recommend but the lawn service was ok.

My first time experience has not been so good. I had a scheduled visit for my first lawn cutting service and received two separate notifications hours apart that the job was complete even though no one had showed up. Customer service is pretty good so far. Someone picked up the phone right away and was able to look into the matter. Now Im just waiting on a new crew to be assigned to my property so that I can get my initial cut. Im hoping they show up Monday( first cut was due Friday), if I dont see anyone by then I may have to cancel and find someone else because when I have something scheduled, I expect it to be done at that time or at least as close as possible to it. Ill update my experience once my grass gets cut. Note to the owner: make sure you get reliable contractors to partner with your business.

I canceled with them because they kept rescheduling the service and changing the provider. I don t trust this company and no one should do business with them. They asked on their survey what can they do better and my answer was: GO OUT OF BUSINESS . The most inconsistent and unprofessional company I have ever dealt with.
This is for lawn starter in general. Absolutely horrible customer service, no one is on the same page, we were quoted 2 different prices and then charged an additional 11$ on top of that just to be told we were given wrong information and there is nothing we can do about it. Every time we have used them its nothing but problems! I do not recommend this company. This all also happened after someone supposedly came and cut the lawn, I got home and it wasnt cut and the photo he submitted was not our home or anything, even customer service said the photo he submitted was questionable. We verified everything on the phone with customer service literally 2 days ago and they we have to deal with this. Its absolutely ridiculous to pay 63$ to get the back yard only mowed. When last year we paid 51$ for front, back and bagging. Smh And we just got charged 51$ for long grass fee. 1 it took them a week to send someone out. No one bagged it and it was only the back yard. So we just paid $112 for someone to mow the back yard... thats absolutely insane. Customer service over the phone was an absolute mess.
I really wanted to like this company because of the convenience they promote. Although this company is anything but convenient. The app is useless as they NEVER answer any messages on the app. The crew never shows up and customer service is absolutely useless. Avoid at all costs. They wont let you cancel until you have 3 mows but we cant even get them to show up for the 2nd mow. Unprofessional to say the least.
I could really cry on how horrible my experience was. The amount of unprofessionalism also seems to be a requirement for this company. Horrible communication between the desk jockeys and the workers. They claim this application makes it easy to talk to your lawn care guys. But they dont answer and they lie about when they show up or not and say that you rescheduled when you didnt. Absolute fail of a company
Set up an account and first mow was scheduled for 9/19. Crew messaged asking if they could come 9/22. Said that was fine. Never showed up. Called and complained, scheduled new crew for 9/26. Second crew asked if they could reschedule 9/27. Sure. They marked the job as completed but never showed up. I have no idea what this companys deal is, but they are unreliable.

Called to get a quote. Got sales lady who wanted me to Sign a contract and listen to her rules. Wanted $43 for a small back yard. Now they keep texting saying $19 for first now. It s just a mow. Shouldn t have to listen to all the rules and should of been offered lowest price up front. Very scammy feeling. Went with another company.
This place is the absolute worst as far as professionalism and communication. This is my first time using the service and I had my first mow schedule for September 30th. It is now October 10th and nobody has been out to service my lawn. I have made multiple calls and every time I call, I am told that the provider was unresponsive and that they had to reschedule to find a new provider. Keep in mind that nobody has called me to notify me each time this has happened and the only way I know is because I called to find out what was going on. When I call, I m always told that someone would be there within two days. They also charge more for your grass being over a certain height, which I m sure they re going to charge me for, even though it was a problem they helped create. I cannot wait to never use this service again (they make you commit to three cuts).

Norma and crew is amazing! They always come as scheduled and let me know if they need to reschedule which is very rare. I messaged a question about leaf removal services and they answered right away and took care of the problem. They did a great job removing leaves! The crew went above and beyond!
They keep rescheduling my lawn cut. HOA is fining me and customer service here is non existent.
They were overpriced in my opinion. They wanted almost $200 to remove leaves from my backyard when I requested a mow for the back. I told them in my request details that the leaves were in the places that didn t have grass grown in yet and so they shouldn t be mowed anyways and so they knew this before coming. They came and didn t even tell anyone they were here to discuss it further they just added the $200 estimate on the app with a note that said that they could not mow until we accepted the additional service. I declined the service and they deactivated my whole account... Then I actually didn t know this but I when I was looking at my previous charges they had charged me a long grass fee the first time which adds 20-30 dollars on... the grass wasn t above their height max and only had 1-2 weeds in the front that measured above their height. Again, 0 communication from the crew about this charge. When they did cut it always seemed uneven and the way too short in some areas. It would have been fine if I were paying some neighborhood kid $15 to mow but for $30-$60 a mow from a professional crew I expected more.
We re new to the area so we were looking for a local lawn care crew when we found Lawn Starter. We were told one price and were charged another without any explanation or receipt explaining the charges. In addition to being overcharged, the lawn work was patchy and not completely mowed in certain areas. We also requested services every 2 weeks and they had us down for every week. For it to be the first time, the lack of communication and miscommunication was enough for us not to use them again. $80 for a patchy high cut yard isn t worth it.

This company has used a business name that does not exist and added my web site and my old business address and has created a fake profile on their site And when you click on it You do not get us You get people who are paying lawn starter I do not want even a free listing on their site They generated this as a set tactic to out rank my web address with their fake listing of my business I will report them to the BBC and the cyber theft As they are claiming I am associated with them by showing my business on their landing pages And I am not I suggest local competitors of mine look further into rather they are using your business on their site to generate your competition leads As of right now I gave them 7 days to remove my web site and my address Well we will see if they realize They are stealing my business by using links of mine to rank their site and then hiding my page when people click on it In fact every click able part of this landing page goes to a get four quotes form and I have never received on request from. I hardly ever write bad reviews but this was one of the worst experiences I have had hiring a contractor. You get what you pay for. I was assigned a contractor who never showed up. They assigned me a 2nd guy, who was okay, but he made a bigger mess when I found out he dumped a bunch of acorns in my trash can, which wasnt a dealbreaker, but then he went AWOL too. The third guy showed up once, then went AWOL too. By this point my lawn was badly in need of mowing, so I contacted customer support and had to wait several days for a response. They assured me they would get someone to my house ASAP, and then they never did. Please learn from my mistakes and skip this company entirely. These guys are the cheapest, but their quality left a lot to be desired.

1st and only mow was rescheduled and completed two days later. Then, regular schedule should have taken over. Rescheduled so many times. No less than 20 emails and texts sent to customer service with no resolution after 3 weeks still no subsequent service. Cant recommend them.

Over priced for the quality of work they do. They lack customer service, my crew will skip you and not respond to messages.
After using the service for more than a year, they stopped sending crews without notice and when I asked for service they said they didn t have any crews they could send. After my request for them to honor our service agreement they simply canceled my account without notice. Prior to this interaction I would have rated them well, but they proved unable to maintain service or provide basic customer service.
Lawn crews rescheduled or postponed or just didnt show up, all that in six weeks. Good luck calling Customer Service your just put on hold. I found out instead of pushing 2 for existing customers pushing 1 for new customers your call is answered immediately. I suggest looking for independent mowers and not franchise companies for they only can hope they have a good independant crew to take that contract and probably not pay very good. Remember that if customer service was so good you would not be on hold for so long, and PS they have a tip button for the crew, I tipped alot and still had terrible service which adds to that weekly cost to get your lawn mowed.
I liked this company at first. They would come every 2 weeks to maintain my yard. Its been almost 2 months since anyone has serviced my yard from this company. Someone did come out and only cut the front saying they would return to complete but they never did. They still charged me tho anf I had to ask for a refund. After several cancelled appointments on their part and several support emails, I still have an untouched over grown yard. The crews were telling me that I should get someone else. The emails from the customer support were telling me to basically cancel them and theyd understand. I seriously just needed my yard cut. Thanks lawnstarter for NOTHING but a difficult experience.
Horrible service. They said they would cut my lawn and connected me with provider. There app has a direct message feature with the provider and he never would responded and tell me why he kept failing to show up on the scheduled date and just kept bumping the time up then charged me for a cut he never showed up to do and my grass got so long waiting for them to show up after multiple reschedules and that my HOA fined me for me grass being to long. I got on support and they kept rescheduling me with the same provider Devon who would just cancel on me and charge me. Absolutely do not recommend that anyone should use them.

I have had a lot of bad experiences. But this last crew (Anthony) took the time to communicate with me, offered to come and fix the couple spots they missed (our HOa is very picky) and responded right away. Highly recommend him. Did a good job, just came later in the day and finished up as it was getting dark. No doubt bc it has been so hot!! But having someone respond whenever you ask a question online (thru the app) usually doesnt happen. Anthony has been great!

They dont keep the companies they use accountable, Ive had this app service since may. I have had 5 different companies assigned to my yard. And only once has anyone of them every shown up. Just to be told the will come a different day. Which they dont. My last cut by this app was in June. Which since they have been actively looking for a new company to cut my yard.
My John Deer is in service and used these guys because of reviews, mistake.. Explicit verbal and written instructions and they still riuned my lawn. For 6 months been nurturing my grass and these guys cut it way shorter than I instructed. On top of that they left grass clippings that not only looks bad but kills the grass underneath. It takes me over 2 hours on a rider to mow and they send a guy with a push mower. Now I know why they require a commitment of 3 cuts. I called twice and waited each time for over 30 minutes, second time person answered and immediately hung up before I could even say who I was. Bad.
Im so sad to report the horrible service at this company. We were schedule on a Thursday. Then got a message on Friday that due to weather, they would be out on Sunday. That wasnt a problem, but then they didnt show up again. We didnt get any other contact with them until Tuesday when they messaged to call. I called and the support said they would definitely be out by Thursday/Friday. Keep in mind this is a full week after they were first scheduled. I then got theatened with a long grass fee. We had been using this service for a few months and it was their fault, for what ever reason, that my schedule was off by a week and they were going to charge me extra? Didnt matter. No team showed up again, and I finally called back Friday evening to find out (again) what was going on. The support I talked to then said no one was scheduled at all. Its not worth the headache to bother using this company. So much runaround, and my lawn still isnt taken care of.
First time to ever use this company. On Thursday last week I arranged to have my lawn mowed the following Monday. It has now been a full week and my lawn is still not mowed. Very poor customer service. I called to tell them of my disappointment and there was no remedy offered. I will not be using this company for my lawn service.
I signed up for Lawn starter and am still within in the first three mows required period. The first company they assigned didn t arrive until 2 days after they said they would. When they did arrive it was a single guy with a push mower that walked directly into the backyard after 4PM when the dog was outside. Without a heads up he mowed the front and back yard in less than 30 min making sure to leave tall grass along every fence post and around the garden planters. We asked for a different crew for the second now. The second crew never arrived and when I called in after 5pm and the second day of expected service I was told the service was cancelled, a new crew has been assigned and should be there tomorrow. When I asked why the new crew isn t showing assigned in the app, or why we weren t notified the answer was - that s a different department.Honestly if I knew it would have been this big of a hassle, I would have never signed up!
Always happy with the way my yard looks when they are finished mowing. They even skipped a service because my yard didnt need it instead of moving and charging me (which I love that they did that). Nothing like being charged for a service that isnt really needed at that time. Already looking forward to next time. Didnt show for a service and no communication even though I have reached out to my crew so kind of disappointed about that but I never have an issue and my lawn always looks great when they are complete.
They are always ready and will send me a response right away if I ask for something to be done. Their app is where everything is taken care of. They come when they are scheduled and do a good clean job. I very much recommend them.

Getting someone to actually show up on time continues to be difficult, but if you need infrequent lawn service, this unfortunately seems to be the only option.

What can they do better they asked as I cancelled. LITERALLY EVERYTHING. The only words I could use to describe this company is total disaster. I was scheduled for Monday. I received a text the crew was on the way Monday morning. They never showed then that afternoon I got a message saying it would be more for leaf removal from $89 to $108. Okay approved. Then I got a notification I was rescheduled to Wednesday. Wednesday comes no rain in the forecast or radar but I was cancelled due to weather. I have company coming over Friday. I call in get rescheduled for Friday. Then Friday comes, my leaf removal is moved to Monday with the lawn mowed Friday. I tell them if you cant do the leaves just cancel. Jason says they can do both today. Yay! Then 3 hours later I get a message from Jan saying my service has been canceled. I ask her why?! She didnt realize Jason was messaging me (disorganized systems). I call in to some guy who was so rude and said hell schedule a supervisor to call me Monday. I called back and got heavenly angel Amber who was just absolutely wonderful. Fixed my account, got the crew rescheduled for today. She was amazing and so sweet. Crew shows up sends a quote for almost $80 more than what they submitted Monday. So a $89 project now over $200 a week later and on the day you have company coming over because they ve left you no options. Decline because I will not give this company my money. Total disaster.
My lawn is mowed regularly without any hassle. I can communicate with my crew through texts and the app. It s super convenient. The price is great too.

Scott is great! We asked him to make sure the weed eater didn t tear up the fence or drains and he has been careful not to do that. The yard looks great and would highly recommend them.
A man came up and cut my yard better than I ever could. I was very impressed with this company will hire them again.
If I could change anything about this company, it would be for them to completely go green. They would not mow my property earlier in the year due to wanting to bag leaves for a significant charge. I never bag leaves. I always mulched them with the lawn mower when I mowed the lawn myself. So I deactivated the service for months. Other than that, they do excellent work.
Do NOT use them. They are a management company....meaning they dont have their own employees and use whatever freelancers happen to be available. First group kept delaying service for 10 days, so they scheduled another group. We asked the second guy if they provided a trimming service (for free or cost). He said he would do it only if we tipped him. He then proceeded to give us the worst lawn service I have ever seen. Cancelled service immediately, but stated there was a minimum of three service charges. Will report to BBB....these people are crooks.
I m only giving 2 stars because the price is decent, but the service and customer service of this company is terrible. I used them for about 2 months and was never really satisfied. The lawn was a mess every time they came. Uneven, patches skipped, poor edging with the weed-eater. The clippings were just inconsiderate, completely blown all over walk ways, entry areas, and all over plants and lawn furniture. This most recent time, they destroyed my home security sign with the weed eater and broke one of my solar lights for my garden. Their customer service offered nothing but a sorry, not even a small credit towards my next weekly service. There are better companies out there that will respect your property and do a thorough job.

This company is among the worse of the worst, their work is poor they charge 30% plus more than their competitors and they charge for work that they do not do. After receiving a 10 shrubs for $179, I agreed to 25 for $345, on the right side of my home, when they showed up I showed them the work, they admitted to not having the equipment to do the job, then performed bi-weekly lawn service. They went on the left side of my house cut a few(less than 10) shrubs that were not contracted and cut some small shrubs sloppily and marked the job complete, later charged my card without authorization. This company has a F Better Business Bureau rating with multiple customers. Do yourself a favor and find a more reputable company.

I was suppose to get my service today , Getting my glass mowed, and getting estimating with trimming the tree and none of the service was done am so mad because they wasted my time and Im sure they dont even know what they are doing please dont not use them they have the worse service ever..Im still mad for what they have done to me..

The company really looks good on the surface but is highly unreliable. I was very impressed with the app and the appearance of an organized service, but my experience was the opposite. I signed up 30 May, and they have only mowed my lawn once because the providers flaked out on multiple scheduled services causing me to have to mow myself on 3 separate occasions. I think the problem is that this company farms their service out to several local providers, and perhaps their LawnStarter clients are their last priority. Ive wasted so much time on the phone with their customer service, etc, so Im hoping to save others the time they likely value by leaving this info.
Did fine the 1st 2 mows. 3rd mow, I never got notified they were not coming. I text them at 4pm on the 2nd day of a 2 day window they ask just to find out they were too busy with a bigger project to get to my house & I would have to wait until my next scheduled day 2 weeks later. My lawn was too tall to wait 2 more weeks. I cancelled service all together & mowed it myself. Very dissatisfied.

The first and ONLY time using this company, they caused $500 worth of damage from a rock shattering my glass door. I have to pay out of pocket to replace. I cannot get anyone to answer the phone for reimbursement. AND they continue to charge my card for services they have not done. DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Overall it s been a decent company but I have had a few issues. The first three weeks were great, then all of a sudden the crew decided that they weren t making enough money off of my small property so they quit . The second crew was good for a few mows but then apparently the whole team got the coronavirus? (That was at the beginning of the pandemic FYI). The new crew is great. They are a small crew of usually 1 or 2 guys which must be a father/son combo. They do my lawn very well and we re impressed with our lawn when it s done. My only complaint is that if it s rainy or wet, they wait until the next week to do our lawn but don t let us know until late afternoon that they re not coming. Once it was two weeks which was bad because our lawn was getting pretty high at that point.
Im retired Army and was trained to pay attention to detail now Jorge and his service is best lawn care service Ive had the pleasure of working with period I feel he could impress any one at any level totally professional and easy to talk to I recommend him to anyone that wants a great job, great lawn and great experience overall.
I had this service and it was going okay until I got cancelled on, on June 23rd. The. My provider quit, then they scheduled me with someone new. Now it is july 21st! And I have been given terrible excuses every 2 days as to why they are not servicing my lawn!! Excuses like personal problem and doctors appointment ! I have contacted the office by phone and email and requested new providers, but they ALL do the same thing! I now have to go find a new service in the next 2 days or I will be fined $200 from my HOA for long grass... I liked the app and when they were working it was working okay. But this is a terrible company who has no idea how to maintain business. They don t care if they drop you last second and they just think handing you off to another unprofessional lawn care guy is going to make things right! I m done here and I advise anyone considering this company to run away!
Ive been using LawnStarter for a few months now and Im impressed. No more wondering whether or not the mower wll show up for the appointment. No more finding the work incomplete and the mower gone. Keep up the great work LawnStarter.
I hired Lawn Starter at the beginning of the season and they are terrific. I hired them to weed my beds and they look great.
I tried out LawnStarter lawn care service for 4 months. I kept hoping the service would get better. Unfortunately, the company could not keep a consistent crew. Either young teenagers would show up or a single person who did a half way job. The people who showed up was unconcerned and didnt care about a professional job. In 4 months 6 different crews showed up to do the yard work. LawnStarter works similar to Uber. The crews register with LawnStarter and they send whoever is available to cut the yard. You will never have one dedicated crew to show up. I finally cancelled after 3 no-show of service. If your not picky about the care of your yard then you will not have a problem. I wish you luck.guy
Called this service as a favor for a friend who just had surgery and would be out of commission for at least 8 weeks. Called, scheduled and had a site inspection done for a quote. The first guy they set me up with never showed and they still charged me for the service. Called and complained and they scheduled another team to come out to actually cut the lawn. Well they didnt show either and texted and said they had equipment issues. So they scheduled a 3rd team to come out on Saturday. Well they came out and mowed and were suppose to pull weeds in a garden area by hand but they ended up using a trimmer and cut down plants and left all the debris in my bed and pool area. At this point my friend and his wife are livid because they now have to replace plants they had already planted and there happens to be damage to other things as well. I called to start a claim and this is where the professionalism really shines through. Crickets. No one would call back regarding claim. They just think if they do not call they do not have to resolve anything. So i called again and once again started a claim and you guessed it no response. This service may have worked for others but I definitely would never recommend this and I plan on blasting this on all media platforms until we get resolution. There was close to 350 in damage done to my friends house and I feel horribly about it because Im the one who set it up. I would love someone to call me and resolve this but until then I will keep posting this on different forums regarding Lawn starter.

Crew hired appear to not want to mow a lawn every other week, Or, price is set too low to keep crew on the job, and I always tipped them. I would be informed the day of scheduled service that crew no longer want to cut property. Went through 4 crews in 2 months before I had enough. Either dont make every other week an option, or increase the rate.
We requested them to come out on September 5th, and when scheduling approved a long grass fee (normal fee was around $36, long grass fee is double that) because our lawn was in desperate need of attention. After they arrived, they messaged and said the lawn was in too bad of shape and they would have to charge us $120 because it was too long for normal service. They rescheduled to do that on Sept. 11th. At 3pm on the 11th they still hadnt arrived, so we messaged and asked if they were still coming. An hour later we were told that they couldnt make it as they had just gotten out of the hospital and couldnt have done it anyways because of the rain 2 days ago and said they could be here Sunday the 13th. When they rescheduled in the app it was scheduled for Sunday or Monday. After sitting on hold to speak to customer service, we were informed that they couldnt have someone come by today because they would have to completely reroute the crew from the other lawns they were serving today, and the best they could do is have a different crew come give us a new quote on our now longer grass on Monday. The short version is dont use Lawnstarter, they wont show up, and have no means of actually correcting the issue if they dont.

I signed up for service on Tuesday and was promised my lawn would be cut within a 48 hour window. On Thursday my service was cancelled and re-assigned to Friday supposedly due to equipment breakdown. This morning on Friday it has been cancelled again and moved to Monday. I was not given the courtesy of a phone call to explain the reason for the cancellation, I found out when i checked the status on the app. I am confused on how this company has such fantastic ratings. My first experience or no experience is definitely a failure. I should have been told that they couldnt guarantee service, that way I could have made other arrangements. F- in my book
I typically dont take my time to write reviews unless something absolutely stands out. For this instance, I had originally scheduled for a cleanup for the price of 150, and 3 biweekly mowing. There were delays after delays that ended over month and service was never provided, yet I was charged $162. I then gave up and cancelled the service and spoke to 4 different representatives that guaranteed I would surely get my refund, it has been two weeks and I still dont see a refund. So, they stole 162 dollars from me and no service was provided. This is THEFT, and I wish I knew a way they can be held accountable. So in the middle of a pandemic, right before the holiday, this company stole $162 of needed money from me. On top of this, you can not remove your credit UNLESS you contact support. I will look into reporting this company to the BBB, and open a audit through my Credit Card company.
