I lost my front lawn in the the bad weather. Jakes planted a hardier sod for me and replaced my old sprinkler heads with rotating heads. Now my lawn is a lovely, lush green.

The few times that we have contacted the office (to increase the frequency of our mowing, to start a regular fertilizer program schedule, and to update our CC info), they have been efficient & responsive. To start off, the lawn care that the workers provided was exceptional! They did a really good job on my property and it looks great and is what warrants them the 2 stars I have given them. Now the reason for the missing 3 stars is the communication and pricing. I asked for a quote originally and was told that their standard charge was $85/ hour. I then set up a time for them to come look at my yard and if possible give me a rough quote and the lady said they would show up around 8am next day and she would give me a call. Next thing my wife knew they just started working. They finished and Jakes Lawn Care office gives me a call a few days later for the invoice and I am surprised with the price. What was failed to communicate to me to my recollection was their $85/hour is PER worker they have on site, even though it only took about 4 hours, since they had 3 people I was charged over $1000 for the yard work. They do have a fee for bags they have to take away which is completely understandable as well but once again to my recollection I was not informed of those fees. All I can say is the charge for that is outrageous. MAKE SURE BEFORE ANY WORK IS PERFORMED YOU UNDERSTAND THEIR PRICES AND CHARGES. A typical 2 person just mowing your yard could end up costing you $170+ easily.
I have emailed the company directly and the issue is the same. Since I moved in to my home they service my neighbors yard and they cannot seem to understand that the fence is what divides our property not the concrete retaining wall. My neighbor has these trees he does not take care of and go over to my yard. And for whatever reason they cut with their big Azz mover that cuts into my yard and always scalp it. I wish I would have saved the video of one of your guys taking a piss right after they got done mowing . Might have to call my monitoring company to get the video so I can post it
Just visited my mom and her weekly lawn service was just here. Since she signed up with Jake’s her yard has never looked so bad. I asked some of my FWPD friends if they had any recommendations for service and when I told them who she hired they said “oh she wants to pay high dollar for poor service?” Today they blew all her leaves into the dog run and mowed with poor attention to quality. They didn’t even edge or use the weed eater.
This is what my yard looks like sixteen days after the Bermuda grass was laid. The yard is very lumpy and uneven, the grass is dying in some areas. Dry stubble from broken sod is evident throughtout the yard. I had removed a lot if it last week. After the rains this past weekend a patch of green grass suddenly died. This morning, 5/20/2020 the yard appears to be under more stress.The representative from the company came out yesterday to look at the yard. His conclusion was that the yard was a done like the yards they do on million dollar homes, and also it was done as if he was doing it for his own mother. The day after the grass was laid an email was sent to the the company requesting that a roller be sent out to smoothen out the obvious lumps. I was told that the damper that was used on the grass was better than the roller. The men who came did an excellent job repositioning the brick border for me and even laid down some new ones that was not part of the job description. They were given a nice tip for their labor. My front yard is my pride and joy, but it pains me to look at it now. The gentleman told me that after mowing it would look even. Obvious dips will not give an even appearance, and also create uneven grass growth. Close to two thousands dollars wasted. There is an old adage that says, "The customer is always right." However, the inference was very obvious from the response of the company's representative that I was wrong in the assessment of the condition of my yard. In closing, I retired from 34 years of teaching, and one thing I always practiced was making sure that the parents were happy with the instruction that their children received from me. I kept them informed and they kept me informed. The information gleaned from our communications was used in my instructional strategies to make sure that their children performed to their optimal best. I wish Jakes would have done the same for me. I just talked to a lady that works for this company and she told me they charge $85.00 dollars if you want your yard cut one time. OMG what is going on with these companies.
Ms. Kauffman, I read reviews about this Jakes lawn service, after hiring this company for one time and when you wanted more money. When people have been quoted a price and it has been agreed upon, afterwards, YOU want to jack up the price on not just me, according to reviews but you do this to other people too. After mowing, you said you wanted MORE money. This is very poor businessmanship. The card left on my door showed, arrived at 833am and departed at 943am. That is 1 hour, 10 minutes. I am curious, why the person Ray did not come to my door and say something if you were going to want more money BEFORE starting to mow. Then after mowing, you said you wanted more money. You accused me of not mowing a week before. We DID MOW THE WEEK PRIOR. We have family and friends that said the yard looked very nice, the week prior. Nobody has ever accused me of lying to them about yardwork, I was honest, and said our yard is small in the front and large in the back. You agreed. We absolutely did mow the grass one week prior. I called and let Ciarra know that we have small gates, not large ones, she said ok. For this reason, of accusing me AND wanting to jack up the price after an agreed price was set, WE DO NOT REQUIRE OR WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOUR LAWN SERVICE. YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. YOU HAVE AN EXTREMELY POOR BUSINESS ETHIC. WHEN YOU STATE A PRICE, YOU DO NOT KEEP YOUR WORD. Jakes LawnCare will get the 64.95 check. It was already made out to this company and the lead, left before we could give it to him. Shame on you, Ms. Kauffan for running a bad business. We will never use this company again. Installed sprinkler system in 2021. Backflow preventer failed 2023 inspection - valve should last 10 years. Called and left message about it, Waited a week but never received a response. Went with another sprinkler repair service and they have been very helpful. Not doing business with them anymore. -update: After reading the review, the owner called back and tried to rectify the situation. Unfortunately I had to get the valve resolved in an expedient manner before they shut the water off to my house and had it repaired by another company. Moved to 3 star because of the call back. They need to work on their answering service when people call them after hours.

Initial consultation was low cost and they helped me by giving instructions on how I could correct many of the issues I was having on my own. They re not just trying to bill for little things they were willing to take the time to teach. Jake s has a customer for life now.
I give the staff 5 stars for sure, but Im a little disappointed in the most recent visit I had. About 1 1/2 years ago, I had Jakes come out to repair a station that wasnt working. It was determined that the valve was bad and needed replacement. No problem, they did it and all was great. About a month ago, I noticed a water leak in my yard in upon inspection myself, I noticed a leak in the valve box for the same valve that was replaced. Called Jakes to come out and it was determined that the leak was coming from the connection between the valve and the pipe. Now I understand warranties and that they expire, but I firmly believe that this connection should have lasted more than it did...........and the recent technician even stated that the connection wasnt straight and possibly could have led to the leak. The leak was fixed in about 2 1/2 hours and I was billed about $350. I certainly didnt expect it to be done for free, but there should have been some concessions on the price based upon what was leaking and the possibility that it was workmanship failure. I like Jakes and what they do and service they provide, I just dont think the cost for this service is justifiable based on what was discovered.

I have used Jake s for lawn care for many years and have always been happy with their services. This year had three trees removed. Tree removal perfectly done and the cleanup was remarkable.

Jake s has taken care of our business location for 3 years. Always on time and never disappointed when they leave. They do a great job of mowing and leaf clean up. When seasonal planting comes around they do a great of job communicating on what needs to be done. 100% recommend if you re looking to make the switch.
Jakes Lawn Care planted jasmine and installed a rock path in the front yard. They were the best quote and completed the work in a timely manner. Prior to quoting, the owner came out and walked through outlining all the work they intended to do. He suggested jasmine as a great choice for a shaded area.
The team who is assigned to my property does an excellent job. My yard is primarily flower beds, and the crew always makes sure to trim carefully around each bed, in addition to mowing. Well worth the money.
I have been a customer of Jakes Lawn Care for 5+ years. I was quite satisfied with them until last year. They went through some changes, and I was trying to get through the transition with them, but 6 months of problems is just too much. Invoicing a disaster, with over charges and incorrect services billed. Scheduling is a real hassle. You never know what day the guys may or may not show up. And no one answers when I call their office. Very frustrating.
Apparently this company does not need any new business. Contacted both online and phone for an estimate and have yet to have a response.
Were new customers enjoying our second week of service from Jakes and its been fantastic. Neither of us have been able to keep up with our lawn due to both health and work issues and so it ended up being terribly overgrown. Jakes went above and beyond the first week to really tidy things up - going so far as to clean up weeds around trees and in beds in addition to mowing, edging, and bagging everything else. They service other families on our street and were glad to give them our business as well. Thank you!

Austin did a great job putting in sod today. He was a hard worker and very pleasant and productive. He also noted a couple of problems that they would address. He left the yard and street clean. Very pleased with the timely responses and the knowledge of Jake s Lawn Care.
I highly recommend Jakes. They have been doing a wonderful job keeping my lawn neat and tidy for almost two years now, on time on the scheduled day. They pay attention to the quality of the lawn mowing right down to the customers preferred grass length; its really quite impressive. Marian is especially helpful with schedule accomodations when they are needed, and I can tell from doing business with her that she is very passionate about quality and taking care of her customers. Try these guys out, and skip the neighborhood mowing guy headaches.
We used them for 8 years without incident and enjoyed great service. We had one dispute with them about our bill a few months ago. They resolved it at the time but its been down hill since. Our regular contact with the company is no longer there and he too... Interesting reply. I have lived in this house for 5 years, my husband has been here since 3 years before that. While this owner states they have only serviced our lawn 2 times this year the records are inaccurate. The time referred to about arguing about payment was a price quoted to us over the phone and then was charged a very different price. We are happy with our new provider and gladly paid them for the great work they completed. In fact they are returning this week and we will happily pay them since they have been clear from the start how their pricing is structured. Your market is a competitive one and there is no shortage of great lawn care services in Fort Worth. Good riddance!

Nothing I posted was a lie. They want to say they couldn t get in when they could. (Video proof because of security cameras) Messages me for an hour saying it was inaccurate and to tell me how I was in the wrong. Then he has the audacity to say they wasted money on me. This is exactly why I went with someone else. So rude and disrespectful. We re all people here. Just level with me.. dang. I asked for lawn service and sprinkler diagnostic and repair. I was told that the sprinkler repair would take 5 weeks to schedule and they would go ahead with the lawn until then. I said ok. When the they called for me to pay the bill it was serveral times higher than I had discussed. I discussed with the lady which services zzx
Not a happy customer. Jakes came highly recommended and I was excited about their service. They are expensive and I was expecting quality work to go along with that expensive service. Unfortunately, the quality was amateurish at best. My old solo practitioner lawn guy did a MUCH BETTER JOB, and for a fraction of the price. To make matters worse, when I received my final bill from Jakes, I was DOUBLE BILLED for extremely shoddy work on my flower beds. I called to complain about the work and was told the owner was going to come visit me, unfortunately that never happened. Not sure if they are just too busy to keep up with their work and billing. In any case, they lost this customer for good.

Very happy with Jakes Lawn Care! They do my yard and shrubs on a regular basis and are very reliable. Occasional they will do repairs on my sprinkler system which is also a quality job.
My sprinkler system would not start so I emailed Jakes Lawn Care to see what they charged for a service call. Jeff Kauffman emailed me right back and asked for details regarding what the system was doing. Jeff had me try a number of different things so we could rule out possibilities. By Jeff taking the time to assist I got the system running again. You talk about customer service, how could you possibly beat that. I believe that customer service is a reflection of the company itself and would have no reservation recommending Jakes Lawn Care.
Weve used Jakes Lawn Care for YEARS! THIS year, they re-did our entire front yard! They had to remove a lot of decaying rock work & installed all new flower beds & plants. Jeff did the design work & it turned out absolutely beautiful!!! I would recommend them often & will continue to do so!!!

I have been using Jakes now for the past 6 months. They have always been on time and have done a great job. I see that 95% of the time it is the same people so I have been able to have a relationship with them which is nice. It is always good to be able to ask questions to the workers and know that each week it is the same ones so if there is ever a problem they will understand and be able to fix it.
Jakes does not do the job, period. Quality of work is poor, customer service is poor. When we recently had a problem with the service, their answer was to be rude and blame everything but themselves (including blaming us). I do not recommend.
