Joe and his guys were fantabulous! Not only did they remove an ice dam for us this week (causing a major leak in our kitchen) but only a few months ago, Ron and the crew completed a large landscaping project for us. We just can t say enough good things about Joe, his guys, and his company. They not only landscaped our yard beautifully, but they showed up the same day we called them to remove our ice dams. Just a few years ago we had some major damage done to our old home, and the last thing we wanted was to go through that fiasco ago with our new home. We were only calling them to recommend an ice dam removal company, and next thing you know (2 hours later) they are on our roof removing our ice dam! They are certainly not cheap (IMO) but they were/are worth every dime we spent. I m not sure there is any amount of money that would get either one of us up on an icy roof in the dead of winter. No thank you! If you re looking for quality landscaping, or if you happen to need urgent help with a pesky ice dam, these are your guys. I don t foresee us every using anyone else. Thanks a gazillion, Ice Dam Guys.

After contacting Joe, he promptly replied that due to his schedule, he would not be able to get to my landscaping project. However, BEFORE his reply, he reached out to a fellow landscaper to see if this would be something he could do, with his contact information. (John Capetz, with Johns ProCare, which I was able to schedule). If I could give 10 stars to Joe for going above and beyond customer service, I would, and he never saw or stepped foot in my yard!

I couldnt be happier with my landscaping! Honestly just blew my mind how professional everything was done and on top of that how everything was cleaned up so neat and tidy! I wasnt a fan of a consulting fee, but wow, worth every penny! Im just a regular working man and these guys are the best in my mind! Now my neighbors need to catch up to me!

The Landscape Guys rebuilt a retaining wall around my front entry. Everything went perfectly from beginning to end. My initial inquiry was responded to promptly as well every other communication. The crew members (Ron, Brody and Mike) were personable, professional and incredibly industrious working for several hours on the project. Ron was a master at cutting stone to cap the wall perfectly. Every detail was attended to beyond my expectations!

From my first contact with Joe from The Landscape Guys (owner), I had a feeling my landscaping project was going to be a success. He was VERY responsive! I was impressed with the communication with him. He always responded quickly, even before hiring them. My landscaping project was quite large, removing old existing deteriorated landscaping including large boulders, rock gardens, lawn, trees, etc. Next came re-grading the land, and installation of new landscaping. This included new garden areas, boulders, rock, mulch, several new beautiful trees, resurfacing a patio, relocating irrigation heads, fill, topsoil, sod, and thinning a wooded area behind the house. Next came the plantings. We worked with their designer and she came up with an excellent plan. There were many plantings including shrubs and dozens of different types of gorgeous flowering plants. The crew installed the plantings and the end result is absolutely beautiful! There were so many trucks coming and going to haul away the old landscaping and bringing in the new... It was an orchestrated and well-timed project! I was truly impressed with how all that was organized and blown away with the end result! Hats-off to Joes crew! Ron, Gary, Mike and all the other guys, they did an outstanding job. They made sure throughout the process that we were totally satisfied, and asked that if ANYTHING wasnt perfect, to let them know right away and theyd make it right. They were very respectful of my property and my neighbors as well. There were many vehicles parked here, and many coming and going. Never ONCE did one of them put a tire even one inch on any of my neighbors or my boulevard. One neighbor told me he was so impressed about that! They cleaned up every evening before ending their work for the day. And I mean CLEAN! Sweeping, washing, organizing their equipment. They were extraordinarily professional and respectful. The end result was astonishing. The transformation was amazing! Joe has a great team of people and it was a pleasure to work with them. They made sure we were completely satisfied and happy. My wife and I couldnt be happier. We highly recommend them.

Jordan Phillippo - Joe was extremely patient in working with us to provide detailed quotes, probably exchanging 20 plus e-mails, and a few phone calls over a week period of time. We honestly felt he was just wanting to help in any way that he could and at no point did we feel pressured. Our project consisted of removing stumps, tree roots, adding a ton of top soil and seeding a good portion of our backyard. The crew spent the entire day on the project and we could not have been more impressed with how thorough and meticulous the guys were on the job. It was clear their attention to detail was a main focus, right down to leaf blowing the grass before they left to fluff up where they had been walking all day. It wasnt 2 hours after the guys left for the day that I had a message waiting from Joe to make sure that every part of the project exceeded our expectations and he assured us that if not, they would be right back out the next day to make sure it did. Palumbo Landscaping saved my yard! We spent a year trying to work with a different contractor to who was either not available or was always trying to up charge us. We had placed a deposit with him and it took months (and many attempts) to get it returned to us. Then we contacted Palumbo Landscaping. Within a day he was out to our house, drone in hand, to discuss our project. A quote and detailed plans, including areal pictures of the work to be done, followed that night. The entire crew was courteous and professional. When they were done, you didn t even know they were there. Even our neighbors commented on what a great crew we had. And, my yard looks amazing! I would definitely recommend Palumbo for any landscaping or restoration needs.

We had Palumbo Landscaping do work for us, including a rock wall rebuilding and additional landscaping work. I had by chance run across Joe s company on the internet. I would have to say that was my first stroke of luck. From the start, my experience with Palumbo Landscaping was extremely positive. Joe was quick to get back to me for an initial consultation. He was very thorough in understanding the work we wanted to have done. He spent a great deal of time preparing the details of the job and made sure they were complete and each step understood by me and my wife. I received the quote for the job in a very timely manner. We had a small area in our back yard that needed up dating with plants and new mulch and trim. What a wonderful job Jo and his crew did. Wonderful, Wonderful! Joe and his guys just completed an amazing landscaping job for us and we couldnt be happier! They are true professionals who focus on customer needs and take great pride in their work. They laid a beautiful flowing rock border around our house that included a set of functional and attractive boulders, several of which Joe added at no extra cost. They also cleared out a large section of overgrowth that had crept in over the years and we feel like we can breath again! The highlight of their work is the lovely paver patio they put in the front yard. They used all top grade materials and exhibited true expertise and artistry in their design and built it so solid so you could drive on it! They surrounded the patio with mulch and two gorgeous stepping stones and we are excited to start planting a perennial garden. Our thanks to Joe and his landscaping guys for a job well done. They work hard, they know what they are doing, and it shows! We will definitely call on them again if needed and we strongly recommend them to anyone.

My wife and I purchased a 1980s built home just over a year ago. While the house was somewhat updated, the landscaping was not. The 1 acre yard consisted of large, overgrown, and mostly unhealthy trees and plants. The design and style hadn t been updated in decades. I was fully aware we d need to find and hire a landscaping company to give the property an overhaul. After I started to research landscaping companies around the Twin Cities, it became increasingly difficult to for me to differentiate them from one another. They all seemed good enough, so I started to make some calls. By chance, Palumbo Landscaping was the first company I called, but I also called four other companies for comparison sake. I had nothing to benchmark any of these companies against each other. 2 of the 5 companies never returned my call or request for information. The other 3, including Palumbo Landscaping, were vetted against each other. Spoiler alert: I chose to work with Palumbo Landscaping for several reasons: 1) Joe possesses a unique ability to listen, discern, and make customized recommendations. The other companies just wanted me to tell them the work I wanted done in our yard. I stated I wanted an updated, modernized landscape, but they wanted specifics, which I didn t have the firsthand examples to provide. My inability to provide specifics didn t frustrate Joe. In fact, it was quite the opposite. He asked insightful, relevant questions to help me discover what I wanted. His ability to communicate gave me a high degree of confidence. 2) Palumbo Landscaping s fee structure is transparent. The proposal Joe provided was incredibly detailed. The other companies were non-committal on price and none of them provided a proposal as detailed. 3) Most importantly, I chose to work with Palumbo Landscaping because of their reputation. I was comforted by the volume of positive reviews I read online. I couldn t find another landscaping company with such a consistently positive and longstanding record. Needless to say I made the right decision. I was floored by how professional Joe, Ron, and his entire crew were throughout. To say they re perfectionists is an understatement. These guys don t cut corners. None of them. EVER. They always gave 110% no matter the task at hand. They were at my house when I left for work each morning. Often, they were at my house hours after I had returned home from work in the evening. I had several neighbors and family members offer up their own feedback to me. All of them said they d never seen anything like it. In short, Palumbo s dedication, work ethic, professionalism, and workmanship is simply unmatched in their field. We are so pleased and blown away by the final product! I m eager to work with Palumbo Landscaping on our next project! I ll confidently recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

I normally dont take the time to write reviews but after working with Palumbo Landscaping & Services, Inc., I decided it was least I could do. My experience started out with Joe Palumbo visiting with me at my home to get a bid on some landscaping. This evolved into work with many members of his staff, including Mike H., Ron, Gary, Zack, Tyler, Gage and Mike C. All were totally professional and the most polite and neatest crew that I have worked with. Everything was done to perfection. While I ended up investing a lot more money in this project that I had originally planned on, I wouldnt change a thing. Joe was extremely helpful in explaining my options for a limited or complete landscaping job. I would, without hesitation, recommend this company to you 100%. Outstanding landscaping service! Our project was smaller than most, yet we received the same prompt, professional service as the big ones. They were able to squeeze our one long day project into the busy summer schedule. Joe is a perfectionist--and he thinks of the job as his own yard. To say that they went above and beyond is an understatement! We had Joe and team hydro seed our very expansive shoreline. Joe worked with us to come up with the very best option for our situation and was flexible in working us in. Joe is extremely responsive and thorough. Not only did they do an excellent job applying the hydro seed, they also carried away excess brush and set up an elaborate auto-watering system. All of which was beyond the original agreed upon job. Without hesitation we would recommend Joe and his team (Palumbo Landscaping and Services, Inc.).

Joe and his crew recently completed removing debris (plus TONS of huge rocks) from our 140 feet of shoreline, re-graded it, added new steps, placed weed block down, and put down approximately 7 tons of rip-rap and dark colored bark above the rock. His entire crew was so respectful, professional, timely, and above all else, left the yard in great shape, re-seeding where bobcats did slight damage. I have never seen such a group of guys work so hard for hours on end with very few breaks. They were typically here from 8:30 or 9:00 AM, working until almost 7:00 PM on some days, even while it rained all day. I would definitely recommend them for any work you need done, especially lakeshore work. A huge A+++++ from us. Thanks Joe and crew!

Joe and his team were fantastic! Their attention to the details were just what I wanted. The terraced area of my yard was overgrown with weeds and out of control shrubs. The clean up his crew did in this area included removing all the weeds, trimming the shrubs, and covering the entire area with a thick layer of mulch. It looks so well-groomed and beautiful again! My project also included completely removing landscape rock and shrubs around the entire perimeter of the house and redoing this area which included a redesign of the border, removing a cement slab and seeding the area, relocating the underground sprinkler heads, a fresh layer of black dirt, new edging, new landscape plastic, and new St Cloud granite landscape rock. Joe was very particular about the details such as digging a trench next to the edging to provide a deeper layer of mulch and rock for reduced weed growth. The cleanup was very thorough and my lawn was not damaged at all. He even added a couple of extras such as sealing a gap under my siding to prevent critters from entering and treating my lawn to get rid of the mole infestation. Joe and all of his crew were great to work with from the beginning to end and I couldnt be more pleased with the results. I highly recommend Palumbo Landscaping!

Joe, Thank you to you and your wonderful crew for doing such an excellent job in my parents backyard jungle. We gave you work around the entire perimeter of the house and kept adding more brush clearing, more rock moving, and more plantings and the guys kept smiling every day...It was the landscaping project that seemed like it would never end, but all of you were so accommodating and always hard working, polite and professional. We were having a problem with our Mississippi river shoreline in that erosion was undercutting and washing away our property. Joe surveyed the situation and decided that existing roots would have to be cut out, two yards of fill dirt would have to be brought in and tamped down, fabric put down and twenty tons of rock would be installed. In doing the job they decided that an additional eight yards of fill dirt and five extra tons of rock would be needed to do the job right. Because of the high bank all of the dirt had to be taken down thirty steps to the shoreline in five gallon pails. I have had experience in working with contractors in the past where the job was more complicated than first thought and the price has always gone up because of it. This was not the case with Joe, the price stayed as it was quoted. Joe and his crew were excellent to work with all the way through the project from the beginning until the cleanup process was finished. Mike and Ali Miller

Despite the challenge to work with me and my very time consuming work schedule, Joe and his crew were able to get the job done and then some. Im so happy with the improved appearance of my back yard and the eradication of the buckthorn. Very good work. Employees willing to stay late, worked hard, and they did a good job of replacing our jungle in very short time. Cleaned up every piece of debris before they finished. Very willing to work with us on our unique circumstances.

We had Joe do a curb/sidewalk border to replace a old block wall planter and extended it around two sides of our house. Throughout the process, Joe was exceptionally attentive and responsive. Even though weather was not cooperating, Joe and his crew gave us high priority and finished the project in fairly short order. When unexpected things arose, Joe worked very hard to resolve them quickly, professionally and without delay to the project. He even added some unexpected perks. For example, I offered to let them pile leftover soil in a low spot in my lawn and I would spread it and seed. I came home from work one day, it was already graded and seeded. An example of over the top service, I had asked Joe if he happened to go by his supplier before he comes by for the last task, I could use two more walkway stones but insisted that he not go out of his way. I came home one day to not only find the two stones, but they had placed them as well. Bottom line, the project looks awesome. Joe went above and beyond to make us happy, and frankly, I am difficult to please. Anyone looking to contract out a landscaping project should only hire Palumbo Landscaping. Seriously.

We hired Palumbo Landscaping to install drain tile and re-slope our swampy walkout area and install a patio. Little did we or Joe know the extent of the problem that was below the ground. Joe and his crew fought a stream of water the entire first day. Despite what had to be a frustrating start, Joe and his crew never showed it and put in long hours and much effort into our problem child of a back yard. My 3 neighbors who are home all day (one retired, one teacher, and one who works from home) all told me about the great efforts they were making and commented that that patio isnt going anywhere. Joe and his crew clearly take pride in what they do. He was so bothered by a little mud splash on my window that he couldnt clean that night due to the patio just being installed that he showed up the next day (despite me saying it was no big deal) and cleaned it up. I am thankful that we selected Palumbo Landscaping as I am not sure if other outfits would have put the effort into the project that was required to get it done right. The end result is we have an outstanding patio and a yard that we can use again. I will recommend Palumbo Landscaping to anyone and would use them again in a heartbeat.

We hired Joe Palumbo to assist with our back yard. It was a an ugly mess of buckthorn, poison ivy and weeds. They came in cleaned everything up, installed edging and mulched everything in along our fence line. Working with Joe and his crew was extraordinary. From the initial quote through the constant open communication and then working with the crew and his follow up. Joe is very personable and is really concerned about doing everything just right. The crew worked very quickly and professionally. My wife worked with the foreman to ensure everything was done right. They even helped re-locate a small tree my wife wanted to ensure stuck around. The clean up was impressive, you couldnt even tell a dump truck had dumped a pile of mulch on the driveway. Even after everything was done and paid for, he still checks in to ensure were happy with everything. I very highly recommend Palumbo Landscaping and wouldnt hesitate to use their services again.

Updated September 2014 This is to update my earlier review after having had a year to enjoy Joe s design and planting of multiple varieties of perennial flowers on the very steep and irregular hillside that connects to the beach at the bottom. The arrangement of each plant, taking into account the type of flower, color, height and bloom time was perfect. This steep hill, which had once been an eyesore and source of endless frustration and weeding for me, is now a beautiful and interesting showplace of color requiring minimal upkeep. The results far exceeded my expectations. Joe enjoys the challenge of creating just what his customers envision -- and he certainly did so for me. I highly recommend Joe and his landscaping crew!

From the initial meeting to the final product, Palumbo Landscaping & Services, Inc. did a TERRIFIC job! Late this summer we had a staircase built in the backyard going down to the lake. We are just so happy with the end result. The staircase makes our hillside user friendly and it is beautiful too!! Next summer I am looking forward to Palumbo Landscaping performing the work on our Phase 2... outcropping the hillside. I cant wait!

We recently contracted Palumbo Landscaping for a project in our backyard. Everything from the initial consultation to the finished project went very smooth and was as advertised. We even doubled the scope of the project and added a nice paver patio and they were able to still finish the project within the week!! The entire crew was very personable and made sure that everything was done perfect. It seemed that the entire space was cleaner than when they arrived and looked perfect. We hired Palumbo Services to remove an old timber wall along our driveway and dress up the front of our house as well. We sure appreciated the fact that Joe and his guys worked through the weekend to ensure that our project was completed before our daughter s birthday party. Joe first gave me a detailed estimate of the work we hoped to complete on our lakefront. It involved removing existing rip-rap, shaping the shoreline, adding a sandy beach and building a new shoreline with landscape fabric, additional rock and a river rock border. Additionally, we agreed to have a large cottonwood tree stump and circular mound removed and graded. Improvement of the shoreline and property area required the removal of a number of trees and stumps and subsequent grading of additional fill and topsoil. The final graded area would be hand raked and seeded. Joe and his crew arrived ahead of schedule, worked 10-12 hour days, reported back nightly through detailed emails and made valuable suggestions on improving our original work agreement. The final outcome was a lakefront to die for--Joe left us with a work of true landscape artistry, better than we could have imagined. I have never worked with a contractor who communicated as well as Joe. He was engaged with this project from original estimate until the bill was paid and even followed up afterwards. He is creative, energetic and skilled. His team is friendly, hard working and trustworthy. We were amazed at Joes work ethic--he pushed himself and his staff to reach specific goals each day. The final result is nothing less than impressive and stunning. We will definitely use Joe for future landscaping projects. I have recommended him to everyone who has stopped to look at the work he did.

Palumbo = professional and fair. We had appx 180 feet x 8 ft of buckthorn and boxelder/scrub trees that had become an eyesore along a fence. Because it was in the overhead lines, I decided I needed a professional. I contacted Joe for a quote and received immediate response and guidance. His pricing was fair, he was able to get his crew onsight quickly (about 9 days after I accepted the quote), he kept me informed at all stages of the process (this is huge for me), and the results are excellent and as promised. I will definitly be using Palumbos Landscaping again.
