I was truly excited about working with Jason & his crew. They were all very friendly & accommodating initially. We’ve had trouble with contractors not doing a great job. Jason promised we’d be taken care of, initially that was true as well. However, problems started to arise and now Jason is blaming Michigan weather, the very state he works in. If his products weren’t good for my yard goals…why didn’t he say that instead of taking almost $10k for a walkway that, one year out, is cracking up?? Also instead of coming out and seeing the issue and what this walkway looks like one year later for himself with his own eyes he just asked for for pictures and judged based off of that. Not good business if you ask me. I gave him plenty of time to hold true to his promises initially and that hasn’t happened so I’m writing a review, which honestly makes me really sad to do. Because I truly believe the promises he made. I believed in him so much initially I gave him referrals. That would not be the case currently and my voice would be different now.

Mathews Family Landscaping turned and ugly void in my yard where an old pool once stood into a beautiful yard! I am excited my kids will have a good area to play. Their lawn service also started cutting my lawn and are doing a great job. This took so much stress off my shoulders for this summer. I would highly recommend them for any of their services.
My wife and I hired Matthews for a front landscaping project and resealing our stamped concrete patio. We are happy with the front landscaping project despite a few issues we feel could have been handled better. First, they cut several sprinkler lines which cost me an additional $247 to have another company repair (Jason did help me get in touch with a sprinkler company that would come out and do the repair). Second, cleanup and follow up after landscaping could have been better. We spent a half day afterwards power washing our driveway from the mess left behind. This may be common; however, I expected a better cleanup and follow up afterwards to ensure everything is as we expected. Final issue, the resealing of our stamped concrete patio. Resealing looked good for about 2 weeks, then sealer began to fade at a rapid pace and looked horrible. Jason and his cement guy came out to look at it and agreed it looked awful but offered little to 'make it right' other than cleaning it and there has been zero follow up since. Considering he charged double what previous company did, you can understand my frustration. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I expected more.
Wow, talking about a company that’s unprofessional! Wanted them to do a fall cleanup and most likely hiring them for future lawn cutting. No Way Now! Signed a contract for/invoice for what? A week gone by can’t even tell me where I am on on the list (if they even have 1), can’t give me an estimate even when I could get it done. How many people are left for getting lawn service or fall clean ups?, it’s almost December. Lady that answers the phone makes it out like you’re bothering them for giving them business. Claims it’s to cold or bad weather. Not All times, if they have so many jobs to do. Get them done and move on. Apparently they don’t want any more business,so don’t quote jobs if your to busy to do them, Duh! How do they plow snow, when it’s bad weather and cold it’s Michigan, Not Florida. Any if you like being put off, hire them. If Not look for another company! By the way I am to Busy to call and cancel my Invoice and or Contract. Had another Company do the Work. If you decide to actually get to me. I WONT BE PAYING.CONSIDER THIS AS A FIRING NOTICE! Just driven from Inkster to Monroe this on Thursday November 30, 2023 (not on Freeway took telegraph all the way south to Monroe). What Snow is the delusional owner talking about. “ They had to Send Crews HOME”, check out photos.
Jason is very professional. His staff showed up on time, did what they were supposed to do when it was supposed to be done. You can t ask for anything more from a landscaping company!

Ive been using Mathews Family Landscaping for a year now and theyve done a wonderful job for me all year around. Jason and his team are very professional and the prices are great! I had a bad experience with another company in 2019, but whenever Ive had a question/concern, Jason listened and responded quickly. What I love most is that they are dependable. I can count on them to come, get the job done and respect my property! They are worth every penny and I have no plans to go anywhere else! I would definitely recommend Mathews Family Landscaping!
Please read entire review for updates--My wife and I hired Mathews to install our front yard sod and landscaping. The sod installation was decent except for a few areas but the sod in front of our landscaping was struggling to survive from day one. Weeks later its still struggling and we keep it moist. We ll most likely have to replace it with more sod. Beyond that we did have some required landscaping retouches . One night after installation 2 of our bushes began to fall over. Jason sent someone over to replant the bushes the next day. Something else we discovered while going through some of our landscaping photos from the day of install. Jason and his team staged 3 Dianthus around a Japanese Maple in our landscaping. We signed off on their location and the crew installed them. The problem is the plants in our landscaping were about 90% smaller than what was presented in the planning phase just moments earlier. I ve reached out to Jason multiple times by calling his business and email.--Update: Mathews has reached out to me with a solution to our situation. As of 7-23-2022 all issues have been addressed fully (replaced Dianthus and new sod).
Performed some landscape modifications after removal of existing shrubs & trees. Installed new stone and sod during improvements. Timely and professional. Very satisfied.

Using this company was a pleasure from start to finish. Upon meeting Jason he listened to me and heard my likes and dislikes and followed through with pictures and an estimate. The company showed up on the proper date and finished work in one day. As the crew worked, they were polite and answered any questions I had. The finished landscaping is absolutely beautiful! I would recommend Mathews Family Landscaping to anyone and I will definitely use them again.
I m curious if Mathews believe it s acceptable to be using a snowblower on the side of a house at 1am?
Mathews Family Landscaping does our weekly lawn services and we could not be happier! They are meticulous and our lawn looks so much better than when we ever did it ourselves! The edging is crisp and they always weed whip thoroughly. I pull up to our house and feel relieved and proud. Mathews also just completed a big project excavating, regrading, and laying down new sod in our backyard with some stone in an area as well. Again, WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! The project was completed in two days. One to excavate/prep and one to lay stone and sod. It was done professionally, timely, and neatly and we were given a full explanation on what to do to take care of our new lawn. All in all, we felt they were very reasonably priced and their quality of work is unmatched! We can t say enough good things about Mathews!
Mathews Family Landscaping has been mowing our lawn for several years. They use the smaller mowers, which we prefer, ( not the huge mowers) and they do a great job! They follow my husband s instructions about how he wants the lawn mowed, etc. They also do other outside maintenance, ex: gutter cleaning in the fall. Jason is very quick to respond to calls! I highly recommend Mathews Family Landscaping!

Jasons Family Landscaping is an absolutely outstanding company. They did a sod and landscaping job for me and I couldnt be happier with their work. Its hard to find honest people who have a good work ethic these days, but Jason has proven to me that they do still exist! Great job. Jason and crew were easy to work with, hard workers and nice people. Ours was not a large sod and landscape job, but Jason treated our project like it was the only one he had. They showed up with all the proper equipment, when promised, stayed on the job till completion, and it turned out great.
The quality of the grass is amazing, they are very thorough and the work way exceeded our expectations.
