What a doozy. It all began with high hopes and the promise of a smooth transition from one lawn care company to another. I was ready to put my trust in a new team, with the hopes of a lush, green lawn as the result. Enter Mike Ryan, the salesman—a man of promises and services, offering aeration and overseeding for a hefty $400, But something seemed off. These services had already been done weeks earlier. A minor oversight, I thought of course—easily forgiven in the grand scheme of things. Little did I know, this was just the tip of the iceberg. Monday arrived, and with it, the first scheduled service: fertilizer and weed treatment. As I peered outside, I noticed the technician busily working on my front lawn. Something seemed… off. There were no telltale signs of fertilizer, no pellets in sight in the rear seem hours later. I figured maybe the treatment was more subtle than I expected. But curiosity got the best of me. I checked the backyard, expecting to find the same careful treatment. Instead, I found… nothing. Not a single step had been taken in the backyard. The technician never even set foot there. At this point, suspicion was brewing, and I decided to confirm my worst fears. I checked the security cameras, and there it was: the technician hadn’t even bothered with the backyard. Yet, the invoice arrived promptly, listing a full treatment along with a mysterious, almost laughable service they called weed treatment in a “surgical strike.” The absurdity of it all hit me like a wave—half the work, none of the promised care, but a full bill sent my way. So, naturally, I called Mike Ryan. After all, he was the one who made the promises, right? Surely, he would want to know why we were walking away from his company so soon. But what came next left me absolutely dumbfounded. I calmly explained the situation, fully expecting professionalism in return. But instead, Mike turned from a sales professional into something unrecognizable. His voice rose. His tone became aggressive. When I declined his offer to send someone back out, his response was nothing short of shocking. He yelled. Yes, yelled, at me—the customer. His words were a barrage of accusations: “You didn’t trust that I went to the site the first time! I bent over backwards for you!” I was in disbelief. I was the one who had been wronged, yet here I was, being berated for daring to inform them of their performance. I tried to reason with him, to explain that trust had been broken. But he wasn’t having it. His aggression mounted, his tone sharper, louder—until, finally, in a move I could scarcely believe, he hung up on me. Yes, the sales representative of a company that prided itself on “customer first” and always “calling back” had just cut me off mid-conversation, leaving me stunned. There are bad customer service experiences, and then there are this. A simple request for accountability turned into an altercation I will never forget. Wow. Just… WOW. Needless to say, go anywhere else, there are tons of other companies that won’t treat their new customers this way.
My lawn has never looked better thanks to Weed Man. I am Weed Free with a thriving tall fescue lawn. Their treatments are precise a well thought out. I couldn’t be happier with their service.
Initially, this company appeared highly commendable. However, once you commit and sign the contract, their service quality drastically declines. Despite repeatedly spraying for mosquito problems, the issue persists. Despite our attempts to address the problem with them, they continue to charge for ineffective services. It's crucial for them to attentively listen to their customers' needs and concerns, especially when payment is involved.
I've been using Weedman for two years now. I'm kicking myself now for not using their outstanding service since I bought my house...in 2009. My lawn looks great. Very few weeds, healthy, vibrant looking and, more importantly, bug/pest free. You'll only do worse if you don't go with Weedman.
I have had Excellent service at a very reasonable price with Weed Man. I signed up with them about two years ago during their fall special service and by the following spring I saw a significant improvement in my lawn. They continue to service my lawn and their complete program including aeration, weed control, over-seeding and fertilization is the best. My neighbors are all commenting on my Ann and how nice it looks compare to two years ago. If you are considering a service this is one I recommend.
In just 18 months, my lawn which was infested with weeds and almost bald became lush and green and weed-free. Excellent work done by Weed Man team - they delivered what they promised. We have used Weedman for several years and had been extremely happy with their service until 2019-2020. I believe the original franchise split in two about that time, and our Vienna location got the new company. Since then, our lawn has become patchy and deteriorated , and my emails were never responded to. In the past, we got personal, hand-written notes on the invoice after they treated the lawn. Now I get a generic computer-generated message. And last year, without any forewarning, they applied a new product that killed all the grasses that weren’t supposed to grow here. My lawn started looking dead after that. I hope the owner will come and discuss the poor state of our lawn. We’re definitely considering a new service.
Initially I was not sure I needed a lawn care service so when Weed Man offered a chance to try a limited time offer I took them up on it. I had some weeds in my yard that I wanted to see how Weed Man did against them. After just 2 Weed Man applications my weeds were very noticeably reduced and they have not returned. As the summer of 2019 got dry Weed Man advised me to water. I chose to ignore their advise and now my grass paid the price. I feel that if I had listened to Weed Man I would have made out good last year. I was impressed with all that they did for me in 2019 that I signed up for their full program in 2020. I am looking forward to their help in recovering my grass and this time I plan to listen to all their advice the first time. They are a great company that offers a well priced product and great advice. I am looking forward to a great lawn in 2020.
the Weed man company is not Honest at all. After payment , the technician just looks around the house, he doesn t even spray, and will leave the place after a minute !then he reports I am done!!. In fact, they dont do anything. After charging, no body responds ,they are very disrespectful. They treat the customer completely as liars and irresponsible. I do not recommend the Weed man company at all.

I went through four different high profile companies over the course of 20 plus years trying to grow a nice lawn. I have many trees so growing grass is a challenge. All failed. I called Weedman. Eric came out and explained the service. He was honest. He told me to have patience as it would take time. Three years later my lawn is the best it has ever looked! Weedman does one thing only .grow grass. And they do it better than anyone.
Weed Man has completely transformed our yard. A year ago we had a yard full of weeds and bare spots, like magic we now have lush grass. Highly recommend this lawn care service.
I have a 0.75 acre back yard that became infested with bermuda and wild grass. Weed Man refurbished the affected area and aerated the entire lawn. So far the yard looks amazing. Used these guys for at least two years. This last year has been bad. The staff that come to your house are very nice. The office staff have a lot of excuses. I had to prepay 3 times to get the services I wanted, and I didnt get the fall aeration and I wanted it. I asked for a refund proir to the seaons end because I was just over it. They cancelled more than they showed. Two times in a row they canceled 3 days in a row. The last cancel was at end of day and excuses where the spreader broke and the truck ran out of supplies, but they had cancelled the two days prior to only cancel at end of day for the third. I am suspecting that it had more to do with it being the end of the work day. I requested notification one day prior before coming; this was hit or miss. I called the office several times. Received a lot of excuses. Our yard looks bad and they blamed it on lack of rain; we have a sprinkler system. The excuse then was over watering. The mosquito treatment was a bust; they practically carried me away and bit me through pants. I spoke directly to one of the owners about this, she asked me how was the flea and tick treatment going. Weedman will tell you they will retreat if necessary, but I never got that remedy. If you want weeds, pay for Weedman.
We had a beautiful lawn until we decided to sign up with Weed Man this year. Even though our lawn was completely re-sodded 2 years ago, we have full irrigation and professional mowing, somehow Weed Man caused problems. I wish I had stayed with my prior company! When I signed up for service I repeatedly asked if Weed Man applies fungicide which is needed in this area. They insisted that a product called Apex (which isn t a fungicide) would prevent disease on our lawn. We paid extra to have this product applied, and guess what, our lawn got brown patch/leaf blight which caused significant damage. I contacted Weed Man about this right away, they were extremely slow to respond and then argued with me about the problem. They claimed that applying this Apex product again would help with the disease. However, I checked with other lawn care companies that explained Apex does nothing to help with lawn disease. After weeks, Weed Man finally agreed to apply disease control, but I already found a new company and cancelled my service. Very disappointing/frustrating experience!
Used this service for yrs, even before the current owners purchased our territory. We got a nasty email from Them about a past due amount, which we didn t know we had. When we checked the invoices we noticed that the majority of the invoices didn t have a technician name or dates of service. When we called to go through the invoices, they said it was our problem. Do not recommend.

Our front lawn gets either little sun or a few parts of it get singed. We were to a point where our lawn was mostly weeds. We engaged Weedman to fertilize, aerate, seed, and provide weed control. In just a few months our lawn went from weeds to a green lush lawn that my kids now enjoy walking and playing on barefoot. Our grass is a deeper green than our neighbors. We sign up annually with Weedman. It s costs are comparable to what you would spend buying fertilizer, seed, and weed controllers annually, renting an aeration machine, and time spent using said items.
Weed Man did a great job aerating and seeding our 1/4 acre lot this past spring. The improvement is already noticeable! We will have them repeat the process this spring.

After using one company that charged way to much for subpar performance, and deciding to try handling the weeds and the fertilizing myself and not seeing results I decided to give Weed Man a try. I have been extremely happy and with the quality of my lawn and the lack of weeds. They are always extremely responsive when I have a request to treat or handle something. Local company that provides personal service. They missed an area in the yard. I called and Teresa answered . She apologized and sent someone back in under an hour.
They have been a welcome change from ,my previous company. The old company overbilled and it took. Several calls to fix. The lawn has also really improved.

I purchased a groupon deal that the company redeemed without having a appointment setup. When i called to set up a appointment for the services, theresa told me that her location does not service my zipcode. She gave me the number to the Maryland location in hopes that the Maryland location would honor the voucher and correct the Virginia location mistake, the Maryland location would not honor my groupon voucher. I now have to wait for a check to be sent out via postal service to have my money returned. The groupon voucher should be more clear in writing about what zipcode are within the service area. I truly wanted to have my lawn service and im very disappointed.

I could not be happier with the service. When we bought our house two years ago there was not much grass, mostly weeds in our yard. We had hired another big lawn service to take care of weeds and seeding. After over a year of using that service we were not very happy, and still had a bare yard. When it got to its worst I called and scheduled with weed man, and two months after our first service with our yard looks GREAT. There is grass growing in places I never thought it would (most of our yard was infested with ivy that I pulled up in the spring.) The price is reasonable, and we were given thorough instructions on how to prepare our yard for aeration and seeding (which we were never given with our previous yard service) and they gave me enough notice to when they were coming that I was able to have the yard prepared which I think was a very important part of FINALLY successfully growing grass.
I now have a full seasons experience. When I signed up, it was to rid my lawn of weeds and I forecast that half the green vegetation would have to be eliminated. It was. The Fall aeration and seeding produced miraculous results. Im sure Im the proudest lawn-owner in our neighborhood and have committed to a second year of outstanding service. Service personnel were friendly, efficient, punctual -- all good, of course -- but the real Wow factor was the resulting green lawn. Having lived in our house since 1973, our lawn has never been even close to this good. Thank you Weed Man!

Destroyed our front and side yard. They killed every blade of grass. They agreed it was their fault and would fix it. They then seeded our front yard. They didn t touch the side and left us a big bill. When I called to speak to them about the big bill and the fact that we now have a few blades of grass in our front yard they said their employee didn t say that it was their fault and they just killed weeds. I have pictures of the dirt front yard that was sent to them when it happened. They essentially called me a liar. They also halfway through the summer after they destroyed our front and side yard told us that they charged us the wrong price and that next year they would have to double the cost. The joke in our house and with our neighbors was yes let s pay double to destroy our yard. I told them to cancel my account and I just got a bill for next year.lol. We will have to sod our front and side yard.
