I have been using Hambleton for many years.They do a great job.Had the bushes and shrubs trimmed last week.Everything looks great.All was completed in a week.Definitely recommend!

Last week lawn maintenance was terrible. Cut grass in the rain (had been raining for days!), left ruts in lawn from equipment and skid marks on side hill. Cut was very uneven(some spots didnt look mowed). Front grass around bushes was trimmed down to the dirt. Not the work I would expect.

I would highly recommend Hambleton Lawn & Landscape. They came out and did spring cleanup and mulching for us recently. Alex and Oscar were very professional and worked all day long. They were very thorough and cleaned areas of the yard that, frankly, I had forgotten about. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because we didnt find out it would be a 3-4 week wait, due to no availability, until after we had agreed to the contract (it turned out to be 3 weeks). However, it was worth the wait! We will very likely use them again based on the quality of the work.

The crew arrived on time and did a great job in clearing the branches, weeds, adding fresh mulch and established new edging. They completed the work in about 3 hours. It would have taken me several days to do all this work. Well worth it.

I wish to commend Hambleton Lawn & Landscaping for the highly professional job it did with its recent weeding and mulching service at my Annandale home. I actually required much more extensive work to be done than just a few garden plantings around the house and so requested an on-site estimate for several large bushes to also be trimmed. The quote provided by the estimator was very reasonable given the work I required. Two hardworking employees (Amilcar & Wulmer) arrived and did an outstanding job over two days doing exactly what was needed from trimming to weeding to mulching .and then a through cleanup and haul away of all debris. I was completely satisfied with the work done and compliment Hambleton on having such great employees on its staff. I have used Hambleton for seasonal lawn maintenance as well and have always found this company to be professional in responding to my requested services.

I just started using Hambleton this spring. They repaired a large part of my back yard that was damaged by some hardscape work done in the previous fall ($3,500 job). Andrew provided the proposal -- I found him to be courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He also followed up numerous times about the proposal, which for me was helpful, but I can see how some might not like that. From a value perspective (what you get for what you pay), I think they are OK. I know what sod and topsoil cost, but we do live in a high cost-of-living area, so I can see how labor can cost so much. One thing I really like about them so far is that they have been responsive. There was one area that I felt should have been remediated but wasnt. I called to ask about it, and the next day, two guys showed up and fixed it (as well as one other area I did not ask about, but could use remediation also). It looks like they take pride in their work, something you dont see a lot of anymore. The only thing that is somewhat irksome to me is they just come whenever! They dont give a lot of notice. Its not a hugely negative thing, but just something I think could easily be improved. Ive hired them for weekly mowing this season too, but cant comment yet on how thats going.

I engaged HL&L to take over lawn care at a property I represent in Falls Church starting last Friday after a full month of neglect having lost my previous contractor. Andrew far exceeded my expectations turning around the lawn and plant beds on Friday and Monday in time for the tenant s planned party for his work mates from his embassy on Tuesday. We started using Hambleton Lawn & Landscape just this year and could not be more pleased. We opted to start with a whole yard clean up and wow! what a difference. To say that our yard was transformed would not be hyperbolic. We have been getting the lawn cut weekly as well as periodic lawn treatment sand can already see a difference in the health of our grass. We plan to have aeration and overseeding performed in the fall and I cannot. wait to see what the yard looks like next year!

We asked Hambleton about a year ago to do a Spring Cleanup for our property. The quote process was painless and hassle free. The property is rather large with a lot of trees surrounding it and had not been maintained at all for well over a year at that point. Hambleton s crew worked hard and transformed the outside of our house entirely. Ever since then we have hired them to do regular property maintenance and leaf removal to keep the property in good shape, which hands down was the best decision we have made. Recently I decided to hire Hambleton to renovate the beds in front of our house. Andrew came to take a look and propose different design ideas which we discussed to make sure things will be done the way we want them. My design requirements kept changing over the weeks, and Andrew was very helpful and accommodated those changes. When the crew came to do the work, they were professional and timely, and I am very happy with the final result. TLDR; personable and professional, providing quality service and ease of mind. I will certainly continue using their services and highly recommend to anyone.

I recently contracted with Hambleton Lawn and Landscape to aerate and overseed my lawn. The company was aware that I have a sprinkler system, however, due to a miscommunication the yard was aerated and overseed before I could mark the sprinkler system and a line was ruptured in the process. That is the not so good news that is shared with Andrew and the good news is that he was apologetic, professional and responded immediately with corrective some positive actions. Andrew had Ed come out to assess the damage. I was impressed with his dedication, patience and professionalism. He demonstrated a high level of energy, ambition, honesty, integrity, self-confidence, and job knowledge. Ed schedules a return visit to make the repairs and when about an hour before the agreed time, he called to tell me know that he was finishing up on a job that ran over and would about 10 minutes late. Ed arrived and made the repair. He was proficient, skilled and reassuring by his competence. He made sure before leaving that I was comfortable with the overall repair and even took time to recalibrate the sprinkler heads, which he did not have to do. Ed demonstrated a caring attitude about excellent customer service and a high level of dedication and work ethics. while one of the successful outcomes of exceptional customer service might begin at point of sale, it reaches a good or bad place quickly based on the interactions and display of knowledgeable skills, a positive attitude, a relentless work ethic and professionalism on the part of the servicing/maintenance team member(s) for ensuring a job well done. In Ed, I see a Hambleton brand and core values of fairness, honesty, sincerity, accountability, commitment to customers and these attributes impress me. They gave me an estimate for a large project and I told them I would be getting two more. A few weeks later, when I decided to hire them (even though they were not the least expensive) they increased their estimate by $6000 saying they had initially miscalculated the amount of work, when in reality they probably thought that I was out of options. (They were wrong).

This year, I purchased their weekly mowing services and lawn care program and have been extremely happy with their service. Previous services that Ive used required checks to be written and seemed sloppy and unprofessional, whereas Hambleton has a website where you can manage your account and set up automatic payments. They are remarkably responsive; they answer the phone when you call and reply to emails. They are a professional outfit and are reasonably priced for the lawn and customer service they provide in northern Virginia. My lawn has never looked better.

They always showed up, did excellent work, including trimming, and cleaned up any debris. I never had to think about checking up and I never had any problems. We also used their leaf cleanup service in the fall. It was also reliable and reasonably priced. Also, when we had questions about adding service, it was great to talk to ssoneone who was knowledgeable, but never pushy. I would highly recommend Hambletons for any lawn needs. I believe they also have higher levels of landscaping service that can help with planting and maintenance of garden beds and bushes.

Have used this family company for over a decade and the service has been terrific both recurring and ad hoc. Company is incredibly responsive and I have recommended to other friends with equal success.

We use Hambletons for weekly lawn mowing of a 2/3 acre lot in McLean and the trimming/edging; collecting debris, cleaning sidewalks that goes along with it. On occasion, Hambletons or its affiliates have provided other services for us including construction of a deck, leaf raking, mulch laying, weeding and other lawn services. We have been clients for 17 years because of the act of kindness shown by one of the crews to our household long ago. Since then, it has been a treat to see the Hambletons crew swarm into our yard, knock out the necessary service in an exemplary manner and attired in team uniforms - looking like a first class outfit. When I think back how I used to spend nearly an entire day doing what this crew does in an hour - at a bargain price - I kick myself.
