Our yard needed a makeover, before listing the property for sale. The Plant Nerds developed a great plan, flexed their schedule as our move timeline changed, and ultimately brought out a friendly, professional, hard-working crew that absolutely nailed the job! Other landscaping companies failed to do anything beyond lawnmowing and leaf-blowing. The Plant Nerds properly pruned all of our plants, re-set our paths & hardscape elements, and made the place look great! They are not a "budget" solution, but when you want great results from a knowledgeable and creative team give these folks a call!
I had an overgrown front and backyard, trees that hadn’t been pruned in years or barely had been, blackberry bushes invading a quarter of my yard and many other issues.I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with the job this team did. There was so much work that had to be done and I was amazed that they were constantly working very hard to ensure every corner of the property was taken care of. The cleanup every evening was amazing as well. They did not disappoint.Thank you very much for that. I will use them again for yearly maintenance and other issues as they present themselves. I believe that they are competitively priced as well I just wanna point out. It is hard to find a group of people that actually know what they’re doing. Keep that in mind when you need some work done.
Next door neighbor had this Co. doing landscaping. They left mud & grass on my car, driveway & sidewalk. Told the workman about it. He smiled & said "no speak English." I would check the liability insurance, bond before hiring.
The team was perfection from start to finish - we had an overgrown front yard with aging trees/shrubs and quite the horsetail situation. They cleared our yard and gave us a fresh start - the team was kind, knowledgeable, and without reservation are getting hired to help us tackle our backyard when we are ready!
If you just want the short version: I've been using The Plant Nerds for Monthly maintenance of my yard/garden, and had them put in some wood chip mulch which you can see in the first photo. The quality of their work is about as high as money could buy, and thankfully doesn't cost that same high amount. For a longer version: I've been trying to get a local business for maintenance of my yard/garden after a restoration from being horribly overgrown by invasive plants (mostly Morning-Glory/bindweed and Himalayan Blackberry). Most of the services I've tried have had issues with the quality of their work, "management issues" (scheduling, communication, etc.), or often both. The Plant Nerds have had none of these issues, have a level of discretion regarding what I wanted that no other place even asked me about, and if they did ask, didn't actually deliver on. The main thing I wanted them to focus on was "keeping invasives and other things that will completely take over the space out, and leave anything else, even what some might consider 'weeds' like dandelions/etc are fine". If you look at the photos included - which is after they came by for a monthly *MAINTENANCE* visit - you will notice that there aren't any blackberries or morning-glory anywhere. I didn't think to take "before" photos of these spots, but those same areas had almost 1/3 of the space filled with sprouts of either (spring will do that). Most impressively, this involved properly removing some morning-glory sprouts which had started wrapping around those daylilies and hostas, and yet, those plants are doing just fine. They had the understanding to leave that nice little fern near the trees because it was in the "good" category, despite me not specifically asking them to. Which is honestly better than I have seen anyone else manage, including myself. Even at my absolute harshest, I am quite pleased. Are there a few sprouts of blackberry/morning-glory near some strawberries in the last few photos that got missed? Yes. But there are fewer than 5 such sprouts I could find *AT ALL*, and some of them are right next to other plants that, unless you bent down and looked, you might not even notice they were different plants until they grew out more. This is a level of discretion and care that I had really thought was unattainable from a business. So yeah, I'd say I'm pretty happy with them.
I was extremely happy with the work done by The Plant Nerds team. I have a small front yard so the thatching, aerating, reseeding, and fertilizing were very much needed. In addition, they pruned an overly grown Laurel bush as well as three overgrown Burberry bushes. They were on time, cleaned up everything when done. Can’t wait to see my lawn come back to life!
It has been my pleasure to work with The Plant Nerds team since 2019. Their name does a great job of describing their special expertise with plants. They perform everything from routine landscape maintenance to pruning for plant health. Their deep knowledge in plant pathology allows them to suggest the best treatment for any plant condition. The Plant Nerds leadership team is highly trained in horticultural science and they recruit and train the best team in the area. Personally, I greatly appreciate working with Stephen and Edgardo, who take expert care of my garden. On top of that, they are all very nice people!
We had The Plant Nerds come out and do this to our front yard. It is so beautiful and will be easy to maintain as we had asked for. Brandon talked to us about what we wanted and came back with this plan. It was a joy to work with them.
The crew arrived right on time. They went thru the list of tasks and had been briefed very well by the Estimator. I had to talk to them about some missed minor things, to which they responded right away. I was very pleased and will use The Plant Nerds again in the near future. The work crew chief, a diminutive lady, plunged right into the tough stuff, too. She was the Spanish-English translator for the Spanish-speaking workers. They did skilled pruning, which is so hard to find. All in all, my yard now looks terrific!
I am so happy with the work that Zuriel did. The yard looks beautiful and I appreciate all of the attention to detail and hard work. I will definitely hire again. Thank you!
Team was awesome from the walkthrough to getting the work done. Came in earlier then expected and did great work
Plant Nerds has been amazing maintaining the house Ive been renting. They turned it from an eye sore to one of the best on the street. Ive referred several neighbors, as the results speak for themselves. Im moving soon, and will miss their quality landscaping.
Thank you Brandon for coming out on a Saturday to share your ideas on our yard upgrades. We appreciate the time and attention your current crew is putting on our yard. It looks great!
Always appreciate the great work done by the crew that keeps my home looking amazing in Snohomish.
Ive used The Plant Nerds twice. First, for a complete backyard landscape and the second time for a spring clean up. Both times the attention to detail was great and done on time. It was a great feeling to come home from work and see a beautiful yard. They also work with you on meeting your budget and have creative ways to get the things you want done. I highly recommend them and will keep using them!
I appreciate the time and care The Plant Nerds have taken with my lawn rejuvenation. Easy communication, quick estimate after an in-person visit, HARD working folks who spent the day destroying my yard but lo and behold, it was not actually destroyed ;-) Given several weeks the new grass seed has filled in and things are looking very green and lush and my husband and I are very pleased with the results! I appreciate the education materials via email that tell me EXACTLY what to expect and how to care for the lawn.
Weve had Plant Nerds perform comprehensive maintenance on our yard for several years. Crews we used in the past, not only ignored or failed to recognize problems, but frequently damaged things without telling us. By contrast, Plant Nerds are well trained and knowledgeable about plants. They have frequently taken the initiative to solve problems they spot (like spraying insect infestations) or call them to our attention (like a leak in our irrigation system). They take real pride in their work.
For over a year now The Plant Nerds have been taking care of mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, & anything else I need help with in my yard/gardens. Steve and Edgardo are very knowledgeable, their education in botany/plants shows in the work they do. Thank you Plant Nerds!
Beautiful job. I had knee surgery and was unable to do basic yard cleanup. The Plant Nerds came out, tidied up my yard, laid down new mulch, arranged rocks, trimmed bushes, edge, and mowed. It hasnt looked this good in years. Their prices were reasonable and now I dont have to worry about my yard looking unkempt while I heal.
I just had my first visit from the Plant Nerds for my bi-weekly mowing and landscaped bed care. Amazing. My yard has never looked better.
I was very impressed with Brandons breadth of knowledge of all the plants in my yard and how to prune them. The team did a great job of careful pruning the plants that I had identified for them as well as cleaning up a large area and covering with mulch. They cleaned up all the trimmed branches and walked through with me at the end of the work to show me what had been done. They did a great job with all the plants but especially my overgrown and neglected Japanese maple. They really know their trade!
Brandon clearly knows his stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed his visit and learning more about the plants and trees in our yard, however nobody ever followed up with the list of the names of the trees in our yard, the name of the fungus he discovered on one of our trees, the mulch he recommends, etc. He also said he d send over a bid for having some of our trees pruned, but 5 months later I ve gotten nothing. He visited in October 2022 and it s now the end of March 2033 I ve followed up several times with no response. I would have loved to hire his team to prune our trees and fertilize and overseed our yard, however I can t do that if nobody will respond or follow through with what they said they d do.
Paid several thousand dollars to thatch, aerate, and seed to refurbish our lawns. They started too late into spring, very little of the lawn took hold. They came back out to touch-up in the fall and assured me it would fill in over the winter. When we contacted them this spring to let them know that it did not, in fact, fill in, all we got was an apology with no offer to make it right or even come take a look. Paid full-service prices for high school kid side gig finished product.
We appreciate the beautiful job by Plant Nerds team at our unwieldy Woodinville property. The clean-up and maintenance crew did fantastic work, and the yard looks great. Thank you for all you do.
Wow. I was so happy with the tree trimming and the cleanup of the fall leaves everywhere. They trimmed last year so well that the trees grew enormously and healthy. I appreciate that they asked for me to review thier work before finishing. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the awesome job planting trees and bushes on our bank. The crew did a great job getting these 45 or so plants and trees down to locations on the 200 high bank and the getting them planted. Thanks for the tips provided as well.
Brandon & the Plant Nerds did a great job! They added compost to my raised beds & gravel to the pathways. The huge laurel got very careful, non-disfiguring pruning attention. I highly recommend them! Positive
They thatched, aerated, leveled and renovated our front lawn with a mix of soil/compost and new grass seed with a fertilizer a week ago and now the new grass is coming up. The people who do the work are friendly and prompt. Im very happy we chose The Plant Nerds (aka Cook Brothers).
Its so hard to get a response from service based businesss now a days but The Plant Nerds responded and gave a quote the same day i requested service and did an excellent job. Very friendly and professional.
We had this company out last year and they did a good job so this year we decided to have them come out again. What a mistake! First, they did not come on the day they were scheduled (we contacted them in September). We called at the end of the 4 hour arrival window to ask what was going on and they emailed us back to say they wouldn t be able to come that day and rescheduled us for the following week and then emailed us again the change to Friday. Then, they sent out people who had no idea what they were doing. We have a 50 year old climbing rose that they just butchered. We called in the middle because we were unhappy with where and how much they were cutting. The owner should have come out at that time or had them stop until he could come out. Instead, we had to have them stop. They did not do what we asked and it looks absolutely terrible. Now we will have to figure out how to fix their mistake. If you hire these people, be prepared for poor communication and to stay outside to watch and make sure they are doing what you asked.
I strongly recommend Plant Nerds. The leadership of the team are well educated in all aspects of landscaping and landscape maintenance. I rely upon Plant Nerds to properly prune my small trees and shrubs. Their work ethic is admirable. They will treat you and your landscape with the respect you deserve.
To say these two, Brandon Cook and Dane Bailey, are great at what the do would be a horrible understatement. The knowledge they posses is truly astounding! They are definitely my go to guys with all things plants. I absolutely recommend them to everyone I know.
They came back and finished up on what they couldnt get done on the initial service. The workers were very friendly and courteous. Both went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied with the work they preformed. This is a good company and they are very consciousness about the work they do and the feed back they get. One thing they could improve on a little bit is communication. Sometimes they get a little lax about returning calls or messages in a timely manner but they are working on it. Over all I am very pleased to have them maintaining my property and would highly recommend them to anyone. A great staff and ownership.
The Cook Brothers team took down 2 unhealthy trees in our backyard along with trimming several others. They are knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. We are very pleased with the services they provided. We will definitely hire the Cook Brothers again in the future.
We live in the forest, and wanted to have health of our trees checked. We got a couple of different quotes, and decided to go with Cook Brothers. And I am so happy that we did! Brandon stopped by and spent about an hour walking around our property with me and looking at our trees. I had a ton of questions, and he answered all of them in great detail! And I mean in great detail! He would explain how trees grow, what can happen, why it happens, and how to make sure bad things dont happen. It is absolutely mind blowing how much Brandon knows about trees! Its rare to find someone who knows their specialty so well, seriously. Its also worth noting that Brandon truly LOVES trees! That probably explains why he knows so much about them! Overall, it was one of the best customer experiences I have had in my life, so I highly recommend Cook Brothers Landscaping, especially if you need to have your trees inspected.
I recently purchased a 2 acre property in Woodenville. The grounds are beautiful and in fairly good condition but need to be uplifted to its full potential. Through a referral I called Brandon and he sent Michelle to look at the property. Wow! From the beginning I knew I was in good hands. She is a knowledgeable horticulturist, she is a landscape designer, she teaches her trade, she is inspiring and just a lovely person. I don t live in the area full time so I have entrusted Michelle with the landscaping design and decision making. I have not lost a wink of sleep. I am very happy with The Plant Nerds and would not hesitate to refer them to any persons out there looking for garden or property care. And Brandon s a board certified arborist. That s so great!
I waited 3 weeks to get an estimate for landscape work and The Plant Nerds were a no show. They are slow to respond to emails and they do not answer the phone or return calls.
They did an excellent job. I would highly recommend them to others. They artfully prune, have a good design sense and do a thorough job of cleaning up. I have complete trust in having them work in my yard.
Amazing job! Quick friendly service. They cleared out a large amount of overgrowth and blackberry bushes. Thank you!
Brandon and his team reshaped our trees and shrubs that were overgrown. They are very knowledgeable about the plants and trees and gave me confidence that they knew how to best trim them for easier maintenance.
Company is a joke, owner came out for a quote on Aug 3, was promised an estimate for the project by Aug 7. Never received the estimate. I followed up on Aug 18. No response. Ghosted. Unprofessional and a lack of respect for people s time is what this boils down to. Zero stars if that was an option.
The crews are all manned by experienced and dedicated lawn care professionals. Some of them have been in lawn care their entire lives, and know the ins and outs of their job like the back of their hand. The company takes pride in their work, and the satisfaction rating is through the roof. From large apartment complexs, to personal homes, they do it all. The owner, Brandon, has a lot of integrity, and listens to customer needs to meet their satisfaction, as well as his crews suggestions, in case theres a better way to do a project. I highly recommend this company for any lawn care, tree care, or mulching needs you have.
Brandon and Dane are very professional, timely and knowledgeable about their work! They have fair rates and provide quality work. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for landscaping services!
Ive known the owners of Cook Brothers Landscaping for years, and a family member was employed by them. These are good people who do quality work. Highly recommend.
They did a great job
Brandon and Dane have a deep knowledge and passion for plants and design that is evident in their work. The business is operates with what I would call integrity- driven business practices that are rare and reassuring.
Brandons crew did a great job revamping one of our planting areas, major cleanup of other planting areas, and mulching. Very professional and done on time with good quality workmanship.
Brandon and Lisa are easy to work with, thoughtful, and capable of hearing out ideas an making them come to fruition. Reliable and consistent crew, and beautiful results. -Autumn and Charlie Positive
Had them come over and give me a quote for my backyard! Brandon and I walked it, I let him know what I wanted to do. He took lots of notes and gave me a few different options and approaches we could do. I had a lot of questions which he answered, along with educating me....not familiar with many things he was taking about LOL hence why I needed him. He then sent me a very detailed quote with price break down and all the things we wanted to do. I look forward to them making my yard beautiful and manageable!
Over the past five years weve used Cook Brothers Landscaping many times for various jobs around our property. Weve worked with Brandon to transform certain areas to just cleaning up loads of weeds in beds to putting down new mulch and many other things. The work has always been fantastic, and the employees always professional. I love the fact that Brandon is always taking classes/courses to expand his knowledge from landscape design to arborist qualifications. Having someone that loves what they do and cares about the industry is important!
Brandon and Dane came out and inspected our small forest. They took down a tree that started to lean over our house and found two other dead trees that would have fallen. They did great work and even opened up the branches in our backyard so we get a lot more sunlight. I highly recommend Cook Brothers!
Brandon and his team are top notch. Cook Brothers Landscaping is my go-to place when looking for a knowledgeable arborist, whose attention to detail and professionalism is key.
We had an entire hillside of very overgrown juniper bushes removed by Cook Brothers. The entire job was completed in one day by their very efficient team of three two cutting and pulling out the bushes and one manning the chipper. They were extremely professional in every way punctual, courteous, and hard working. We were extra impressed with their helpful suggestions, immaculate cleanup after they were done, and their super clean truck and equipment. We were proud to have them work at our home and look forward to using them again on future projects.
I have cooperated with Cook Brothers Landscaping on a number of projects now and it is always a pleasure. I know for certain that the end product is high quality and done the right way!
Brandon and his team do incredible work. They are the most knowledgeable team in landscaping I have ever come across. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work, I assure you they cannot be beat.
Professional and very knowledgeable about our trees and plants. End result is wonderful and it was a pleasure to discuss our project directly with the owner. Highly recommend.
Brandon and his team love what they do and it shows in their work!
Brandon and Dane run a solid operation. They are responsive and professional. With their horticultural and arborist training they really provide top notch service that outshines the fly by night operations of others in the industry. Give them a shot, you wont regret it.
Brandon is professional, friendly, and an expert in his field. He and his whole crew do highly skilled work and are a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend them for anything from lawn maintenance to large landscaping projects
Very happy to have found Cook Brothers. They are very knowledgeable. They have great recommendations and if there is something they are not equipped to handle they will help find someone who can. We look forward to a long and happy relationship with them
The Cook Brothers have done a great job maintaining our houses year round. They always keep the yard looking well kept and healthy. I especially appreciate how responsive they are to any special requests when they have come up. In addition, it s clear they value their staff and treat them well - prioritizing their staff health and safety over profit during the pandemic, while working with us to make sure we were aware of their plans and knew what to expect. A wonderful company to work with. Highly recommend them.
We have hired Cook Brothers twice now and had a great experience both times. The first was to clean up our very large and overgrown front and back yards. They restored it back to the wonderland of a garden we remembered loving when we bought our house. Just recently Cook Brothers trimmed our very large Laurel Hedge. We have come to trust their expertise and appreciate their guidance for big projects. They are quick, efficient, and pleasant to work with. Thanks for another great project. Im sure youll hear from us again soon.
As a fellow landscape industry professional, I have nothing but praise for the manner in which Brandon Cook brings his knowledge and experience to the table. This is an individual who is not afraid to speak out and accept whatever feedback comes with that in a respectable manner. I refer Cook Brothers Landscaping to my clients and never doubt the quality of service and overall result they will end up with. I am excited to see this company grow and achieve the notoriety they deserve over time.
Cook Brothers Landscaping provides exceptionally professional service. Their crews are academically trained in horticulture, which means that they know eactly what they are dealing with in any home garden situation and able to provide helpful advice. They are prompt, diligent and very hard working, not to mention affable and a pleasure to deal with. We have had them working on two projects and are more than satisfied with the results.
Brandon Cook s knowledge of all things trees and plants is unparalleled. I live in the Dallas, TX area so unfortunately I haven t had the opportunity to have him work on my property but I still consult with him. He is always willing to share his knowledge and you can see his true passion for trees and plants. I also know he is a man of great integrity and holds himself and his entire staff to the highest standards. I highly recommend Cooks Brothers for any of your landscaping needs, I know you won t regret it.
Brandon and his team have been doing a terrific job maintaining my yard. I would recommend them to anyone.
Wonderful company! Very professional and easy to work with. Job completed as expected and would highly recommend!
They did an absolutely fantastic job cleaning up my large yard for the fall/winter! I look forward to their continued service. 100% recommend them!
I know Brandon and used this company to help me with some landscaping issues that had been left by the previous owners. They installed a retainer wall along the fence to prevent soil from rotting the wood, and cleaned up the yard (weeded, trimmed bushes, etc.). They did a quick and thorough job. Fair pricing, and no surprises from when I got the estimate to when I was billed. Would recommend this group to others.
Brandon and his team are awesome! Brandon is a board certified arborist, holds multiple horticultural and landscaping board positions, and is an all-around outstanding person. He has a landscaping designer on staff as well. I cant recommend them highly enough!
I hired The Plant Nerds for an initial consultation regarding the health of the trees on our property as well as some initial design discussions for our landscaping. I was beyond impressed with the attention to detail as well as enthusiasm Brandon displayed, it is immediately apparent that they know their stuff and this is way more than just a landscaping company. I am looking forward to working with them more in the future.
Brandon and teams recent work at our property was great - they helped prep two areas one for a front porch and one for a carport. Soon well be having Brandon and team put in fruit trees.
The Plant Nerds know what they re talking about. The backyard was in complete disarray and in need of serious reorganization. Owners Dane and Brandon are indeed plant nerds; they figured out which plants should go where and, in very short time, were able to create a gorgeous and inviting backyard oasis. Highly recommend these guys!
I just had some work done and am so thrilled that I had to recommend these folks... Brandon Cook at Cook Brothers Landscaping is the best! Super knowledgeable about all things plants (hes an actual arborist), he takes a gentle approach to garden maintenance and never tries to upsell - yay! He and his crew took out some cottonwoods that had, unfortunately, been planted in a bad place for them and put in some more appropriate plantings for us. Making the task challenging was the fact that our sump pump and drainage system had pipes running all through the area. They were meticulous, getting everything out and putting in beautiful new shrubs without damaging a thing. They were punctual, efficient, and left the place spotless! 100% thrilled - wont use anyone else. Thanks Brandon!
