Schafer & Family Lawn Maintenance & more in Evansville

My brother hired him to remove my leaves before Thanksgiving since my dad had surgery, I was caring for him and I was hosting Thanksgiving for the family. Yes, I have an awesome brother! But Mr Shafer showed up 3.5 hours late the first day stating family issues. Ok...understand. He was to clean the leaves off the gutter guards, blow the leaves from the flowerbeds and the yard. He blew the leaves from the flowerbeds and yard into piles and left saying he would return at 6 am and would have the yard finished on Thanksgiving morning before all my family arrived. He did not show up, my brother called after Thanksgiving and asked if he was going to finish the job and he told him he was in a car accident on the way here. He did come the next day, blew the leaves back through the front ditch, mulched them on the road and bagged them. He worked for a few hours and has not been back. I still have a huge pile of leaves in my front yard, the side ditches not cleaned, leaves on the gutter guards, 2 huge piles on my patio and piles in the backyard. He seemed like a nice guy but the job is not done.

Alex was kind enough to work us in after our initial company bailed.. his work is wonderful! 10/10 would recommend!!

Alex comes mow are lawn twice a month. The price is affordable. The yard always looks amazing when done. He also had done couple yard clean up and he goes beyond what we expect.

Can't say.They never showed up.They told me they would come by and give me an estimate but they didn't come over.So I had to go buy a lawnmower and do it myself.

When we initially hired Alex we were quoted a price of $45 to cut our front and back yard, including weed eating/edging lawn. His lawn mower got stuck in our backyard due to it being “too wet” still from the rain from days prior. This left a huge divot along with tire tracks and piles of mud in our yard. He only mowed about 1/3rd of our backyard. He also blew all of the grass from the front yard into my landscaping bed and made a huge mess. Not only did he not finish the job he started, but he charged my husband $55 instead of the $45 he quoted us and said “I hope you understand” My husband was not aware that Alex didn’t finish the job until later that evening. Once he realized this, he messaged Alex and asked if he would be coming back to finish the job he started once the ground was a little drier. Alex told him yes, that was the plan. Well, it has now been 11 days since he was here and he still hasn’t finished the job. Meanwhile, my husband has sent numerous messages to Alex. He was promised he would be here last week Thursday. Then we were told he would be here on Friday of last week. Alex has still never showed. Now he is ignoring our messages. I don’t know how this man has 20 years experience. Supposedly his whole reputation is built on trust and communication with his customers. Well he has shown us zero evidence of this. Please do yourself a favor and do not do business with this man if you know what’s good for you.

alex came out same day I called and mowed my lawn for an affordable price! Really happy about how my lawn looks now! He is very quick too! Great quality!
