We had an irrigation system sprinkler leak at our house we just bought in Eugene. We got slapped with a huge EWEB water bill and knew we needed help. I know Scott M. from disc golfing, and he gave me some great pointers on troubleshooting the problem and told me to call Grassroots and ask for Paul, aka the sprinkler whisperer. Unlike the other places we had tried earlier, the scheduling team at Grassroots answered right away and got me an appointment. Paul even called and got me in earlier than what was scheduled. I knew right away when he got there that I was in good hands. Extremely patient and professional all the way through. Paul diagnosed, fixed, upgraded, set up timers, and walked me through all the ins and outs of my 20 year old system in a few hours time. He even took time to help us plan for the future and went over some layout options for when we bring our landscape vision to life but never pressured or oversold us. The bill was a fraction of what I was expecting to get charged, and the invoice had a very detailed report of the work done. I attached the Grassroots invoice / report to the EWEB Leak Adjustment form, and to pur surprise, we got an over 50% reduction on our EWEB bill! He also gave a great referral to a dog friendly grass seed company in Portland called Pro Time lawn, which was exactly what we were looking for. Our backyards hillside had been in need of attention for maybe more than 4 years. This was mostly our own fault as new homeowners we allowed the soil to erode, we didnt take care of the plants properly, we were not familiar with the irrigation systems or maintaining them. By the time we started talking to GrassRoots, we had a very good idea of what wed need to do and almost entirely no idea how to execute it. GrassRoots helped us put together and modify a plan that met all of our expectations. We worked with Tim, who was great to work with, highly knowledgeable, and excellent at managing the project and communication. After nailing down details of the project (plant layout, new irrigation, French drain installation, erosion control, lighting, etc.), GrassRoots began work and did it ALL in about a week or two. Near the projects completion, there were a few items that we were not happy with and GrassRoots addressed them quickly. By the end of the project, our yard was built completely as we expected, within budget and timeline. We are looking forward to working with GrassRoots again in the future!

My main valve was leaking and needed to be replaced. I had called several companies and they were either too busy or they wanted a fee for them to just come look at it. Grassroots came out and gave me a cost and answered all my questions then came back the following week to not only replace my valve but, they fixed, replace, and move my sprinklers. Great customer service and fair prices. They are now my new irrigation company for all my maintenance.

I thought the grassroots staff were professional with an eye on customer service. I had requested that part of my project be done with atypical white oak pavers. From the first phone call to Phillip regarding our project to the end of the project was fantastic. We started out thinking of landscape cleanup with a possible hardscape. The GrassRoots team took on a nice challenge with our property, with some difficult terrain and overgrown areas. They placed a beautiful boulder wall next to the driveway, with nice plants on a steep geocell-stabilized slope beyond it. The crew smoothed out and replaced an overgrown front lawn area with beautiful new sod, and also created a back lawn on a sloped area in the backyard. In all their work, the team was diligent to do the job right. In one case, they even pulled up some sod to make extra adjustments to the terrain underneath! Garrett, Austin, and the whole crew from GrassRoots did a PHENOMENAL overhaul on our entire 1/3 acre property. I wish I had before photos, but our front and back yards were very steep slopes covered in weeds. From start to finish they were a dream to work with. Grass Roots does a wonderful job of taking care of our yard. They make sure that any debris is picked up including our patio which gets a lot of leaves on it in the fall. If we have questions or want something extra done they get back to us quickly. I highly recommend them for any work you need to have done.

We hired Grassroots for a few important projects at our home over the past 2 years. The entire Grassroots team really went above and beyond. Garretts team was very professional, flexible, and were truly focused on quality. Our projects were challenging due to terrain and access. This didnt stop Garrett, Luke, Austin, and team from building a rock solid cedar deck with custom wrap around stairs, a river rock retaining wall, in-ground stair case, and new gravel path with proper drainage, all in a steep backyard with very limited access. We couldnt be happier and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come! We will definitely be working with Grassroots again.

Phillip consulted with us on what we wanted and expected. His crew worked quickly, finishing the back yard, the side yard and leaving the work area totally cleaned before leaving. The mulch was distributed , the places for the more than 30 shrubs and plants were readied for planting to day, wednesday the 11th. Phillip even agreed to come back today so that we would have the benefit of a Pisces moon when the plants went in the ground. Fair price, good work, clean and fast. Thanks guys.

I cant stop smiling at our new yard. I now have two types of neighbors, ones that wont talk to me and ones that wont stop talking to me, since my new yard was installed. Grassroots did a complete demo of a 50 year old yard and gave it the facelift my home and neighborhood needed. It was completed on time and on budget. Grassroots worked around my crazy work schedule and did a beyond amazing job. Communication, billing and scheduling went very smooth. They crew was fun to have around that week. We bounced ideas of eachother and the finish project speaks for itself.

In short: I was looking for a landscaping company to completely redo the front yard. Of the 4 companies with 5 star reviews that I met, GrassRoots made the best first impression by far. It was a pleasure working with Phillip and his crew all through the project, which was very well planned, scheduled and executed on time and within budget. Highly recommend and have plans for future projects with these guys. More details. Philip was very enthusiastic about the project. Very detail-oriented and knowledgeable, he took notes and really delivered the design that I asked for. He also made recommendations and went the extra mile supporting some of the unconventional ideas. He was on-site every day making sure things were done right. Every part of the project was discussed in details and priced separately. Every day the crew showed up on time and worked non-stop. Everyone was very friendly and good natured and I never felt that they cut any corners. What was done: 1.Completely demolished existing overgrown landscape Two guys, Billy and Joe, in their beast mode, cleaned the area in 2.5 days, removing shrubs and trees. They worked non-stop. But, a lot of plants that could be saved were dug out and moved. Some of them were re-used in the new landscape and some I planted elsewhere. A tree expert was brought in to determine whether larger trees were in good shape. 2. A flagstone path was installed. That was mostly a one-man job and the path looks fantastic. Vern picked and fit every stone by hand. 3. Multi-zone irrigation system was installed. That was a process in itself which was fully coordinated by Phillip and Oasis Irrigation. They had to determine the acceptable water consumption as we are on the well. I did not have to do a thing but I was constantly aware of the progress. 4. Plants. All perennial, low maintenance, drought tolerant, fragrant, colorful. Very fitting to the neighborhood we live in and my taste. I.Love.My.Yard.

We had our front planter redone by GrassRoots. We couldnt be more excited about how it turned out. From start to finish Phil from GrassRoots gave 100% attention to our wants and needs. There are times where the phrase You get what you pay for. is woefully true. Im happy to say that in this case, I got what I paid for and then some! Grassroots when above and beyond my expectations. They not only left the work site spotless, they replaced three fence boards that got damaged, and then brought me three extra! They hedge trimmed and weed wacked a part of my yard they werent even working on. A few days later when I realized something got overlooked they came back, and not only finished the job, they left me a $50 bag of Sand for my patio for next spring at no extra charge. The guys on site had a killer sense of humor and were fantastic to have around. Ive been doing a lot of home reno and worked with a lot of contractors over the last 6 months and I would recommend grass roots again in a heart beat! Ive spent way more time outdoors in my new space than I ever thought I would. I cannot recommend them enough!

I could not be happier with the super job Grass Roots performed landscaping my front and backyard. I wanted all of the lawn removed and replaced with a variety of plants. Phil, the general manager, listened to my ideas and translated them into reality. They added a berm and large boulders. Just lovely! The crew was great and cleaned up every night before leaving. Garrett and his crew arrived on time and ready to work. They obviously had a plan when they arrived to lift my 400 lb. water feature from my truck, carry it to the back yard and set it into place. That plan unfortunately did not meet expectations but the team quickly adapted their plan to the weight of of the fountain and had it in place in minutes. Everyone that came to work that day were courteous, hard working and did their job well. In fact it was like having your family do the work and Grassroots Landscape will be the first people I would call again when the need arises.

We hired GrassRoots for an irrigation project because they said they do irrigation. Without letting us know, they outsourced to another company, didnt over see the project nor checked on the finished project. Absolutely no communication on the project. We were unaware no one was managing this other company and were charged an exorbitant amount of hours that cannot be verified and no receipts were provided with their final bill. Not happy at all and will not recommend GrassRoots to anyone.

I hired grassroots landscaping to do my backyard. I purchased a new home and it came with no landscaping at all. They did a fantastic job I m in love with it. From the very beginning I ve been very happy. when Garrett met with me the first day he was on time which is a huge positive for me the other two people I got quotes from were late. He was able to get me a quote the exact same day we met which ended up saving time and I was able to get the landscaping going the following week.
