BOG (Blades of Green) could also be Best of Group. Having sample many lawn services over the 35 plus years at the same location (Yes were homesteading and very content), I believe I have a reasonable sample by by which to make objective comparisons. Without mentioning the competition I can say hands down BOG has stood head and shoulders above the others in both yard care and customer service. As with all service companies their strength is in its leadership and consist standards when providing the myriad of avsilable services and engaging with the public. BOG excels in every aspect that makes small companies giants in their field. The members of their leadership team, especially Kelly Fadeley and Matt St. Cyr exemplifies the meaning of Leading by Example. Both have been responsive to concerns, proactive in seeking solutions and willing to think outside the box to resolve and address new and/or persistent issues. The crews they managed are professional, engaging and knowledgable and take great care while applying the various applications throughout the season. If mishaps occur they immediately take ownership, engage with leadership and take the necessary steps to address and resolve the issue(s). If I sound a bit effusive in my praise its because my experience and interaction with BOG over 5+ years has been one of the best and most rewarding decisions Ive made regarding yard care. Its obvious BOG cares about their employees and their employees about BOG, a relationship that benefits everyone, especially the customer. Id like to draw particular to the BOG Lawn Division Manager - Kelly Fadeley. Kellys refreshing and steadfast concern for customer satisfaction, employee welfare and working conditions speaks volumes to her business acumen and dedication to ensuring BOG is presented and represented in the best light possible. In my opinion shes not only a valuable asset to the company, but a sterling example of a small business manager. You guys rock and I appreciate all you have and continue to do.... After dscussing the Pros and Cons of the service and agreeing the most of the scrubs to be addressed were free of snow, Michael went about performing the scrub oil treatment. As Ive come to expect from the BOG technicans, Michael was friendly, knowledgeable and very professional and went about his work with the upmost respect for the property and desire to meet customer expectations. Buyer beware of this company and their billing . I canceled my contract with them and they charged my account for $273 they said for services from 2020. I was on an auto so this is a rip off.

After dissatisfaction from two other lawn care companies many years, ago, Blades of Green has proven to earn my rating as #1 in lawn care in providing superior lawn maintenance programs, in customer service, and in ensuring excellent results. As a result of their services, my lawn is well established and has endured summer drought, extreme heat, and much rain- - all on a lawn with difficult soil. The field technicians are polite, efficient, and always arrive on the day that they promise. Customer service is at the top of the list; they are willing to correct issues of concern without hesitation. On one occasion, seeds in a difficult area in my lawn did not germinate as well as other areas, Blades sent a technician to specifically rake in seeds in that area for free. Most importantly, my lawn is healthy and looks great all year!

Your technicians are always respectful of our property and very professional.

Michael called before he came. I spoke to him when he arrived. He discussed the treatment he was doing, and we talked about which shrubs were appropriate to receive the wax coat. He was courteous and professional.

Same as others have noted, years of missed payments without proof. Immediate reference to terms of agreement and legal language. Forgetting their dubious business practice, they did a terrible job with my lawn. Cannot tell you how many burned patches I corrected over the years. Total garbage. Avoid at all costs.

Nice tidy lawn application by Tom. We have seen a huge improvement in our lawn using BOG - weeds gone, lawn filling in and much greener than before (you can see a clear line between our house and the neighbors!!)

DO NOT---DO NOT USE THIS VENDOR AS THEY ONLY OFFER CUSTOMERS BUDGET BILLING/AUTOPAY/PREPAY. When you agree on a monthly bill payment, they claim they provide more services than agreed-upon. Then you will always have a balance due. They claimed fees increased in February 2024 without notice to customers. NO TRANSPARENCY AND DISHONEST. This now a 1 as I canceled the service for a one-stop-shop Landscapers who also provides the BOG services. CHECK YOUR BILL AND RATES IN ADVANCE as now they are trying to charge me an additional $215! I have never received a notification on increased rates! Sadly, I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS ORGANIZATION. The agreement never mentioned additional fees to cancel. If there were additional tests, those should have been discussed with me first and I would have said no! Shameful business practice.

We have been Blades of Green customers since 2005, and have had many different services from lawn maintenance, to sidewalk installation, to pest control, and there has never been a problem. They are all very professional, helpful, and knowledgeable about their products and services. They are also reasonably priced. Before we discovered them we used other landscape companies and were not satisfied. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

Excellent service provided with verbal guidance given to ensure a positive result for the numerous lawn services that were provided. A true expert for all lawn service performed. Would use him again.

All of their employees are exemplar and provide a standard for what customer service should be. Other businesses in Southern Maryland would do well to emulate their model. I have been a Blades of Green customer for over six years now and it remains consistent.

He followed directions well since it was his first time here and appeared to have covered the area well.

Although they were very responsive and came over immediately when we called MULTIPLE TIMES to report yellow jackets in our house, they messed up by not providing us the pest control we desperately needed. The technicians who came over were super nice but were not able to locate the nest. Over the course of 3.5 months they visited multiple times and were not able to find the nest. We had to pay 500$ to a different company that came over and was able to find it in 1 hour.

I received my first weed control /fertilizing service today from this company which was highly recommended by my neighbor. Both men were excellent. They did a soil sample too. There was a more experienced man training a young man I like seeing that in a company. I would say this is an excellent company and they use safer chemicals.

By the time the tech rang the doorbell he said half the yard was completed. I never saw them service that half. I had my house washed last week and my patio furniture was on the lawn, they did not even consider rescheduling, they just sprayed around the furniture. At this time I m canceling all future service.

I dont even know where to begin. I was a customer of 2 years for a lawn care program. In the beginning, they show up to your property with full force with lots of applications. You will see a difference in your lawn. After several months, their frequency of visits became less and less. After every visit, I got an email with a report of my service. After that, a text trying to sell me additional services such as we noticed this type of weed, we can treat it for additional costs which never made sense since I was already paying for weed control. Recently, my spouse was diagnosed with and illness and can no longer work. With less income, lawn care was no longer in our budget. I called the office to cancel service explaining my spouse is sick. I was told I had a balance and access to my online account was removed that same day preventing me from verifying the balance. I asked for a breakdown of services and payments. I was sent a very confusing document stating they provide more services than they charge for, which is why i had a several hundred dollar balance. I am still unclear of their math. Seems very sketchy to me. I asked for a payment plan. They agreed to break down the balance in three payments since my wifes treatment was draining our accounts. I called to provide bank information for the first payment and they charged me the entire amount at once putting my family in a tough place. I sent messages asking why they did that and I have been ignored. It is unbelievable to me that this is how they treat a customer of 2 years who never complained, purchased up sales, never caused issues even when the service was subpar and when my family is going through a difficult situation, they dishonor an agreement. STAY AWAY!!! They dont care about you at all. Zero stars if it were an option.

We ve used BOG for years and our lawn is one of the best in the neighborhood. We moved into a new development 7 years ago and since then learned the land was a former rock quarry so you can only imagine the condition of soil we ve worked with. Since we ve started working with BOG they ve been able to condition the soil and transform it into a healthy environment our grass can thrive in. They ve been professional anytime we ve called the office or engaged in conversations with our technician. They leave a detailed record of what has been done after each treatment along with suggestions or reminders of what we can continue to do to make our yard one of the best in the neighborhood. Chris S arrived mid-morning with a trainee for my quarterly pest treatment. Chris had been here for a callback and did a thorough inspection of the interior and exterior of the house and treated as needed. My invasive ant problem was eliminated. Today Chris and his trainee placed two alerting signs and I received an email identifying materials applied. I am very pleased with their performance.

We actually stopped using them at one point to go for a less expensive option, and that lawn care service practically ruined our lawn. When I noticed the BOG technician was at the house to perform the tree & shrub care application, I immediately approached him with a number of questions about the invasive waterfront plants that have become a problem and are most unattractive. He answered all of my questions with good suggestions as I quickly wrote notes to his answers. Mike Graybill is very knowledgeable about plants & trees and I was most appreciative that he took the time to provide the information. He is a gentleman who is professional, personable, pleasant, courteous, and helpful. It is quite obvious that he enjoys working with plants, shrubs, and trees, and helping his customers. Blades of Green is always courteous and thorough over the phone and in person. I appreciate they explain in detail the services completed.

NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. Poor service. Use form letters instead of talking with customer about their billing error over a 3 year period and then demanded immediate payment. Poorly written so called contract which didnt explain the terms clearly and then they didnt follow their own terms. Unwilling to compromise when they caused the billing error which they claimed resulted in a large sum being owed. They took no responsibility for their error but demanded immediate full payment. Wont use them again or recommend company.

BOG is a great lawn service. When they say they are coming they are. Great company.

The technician Curtis was great! On one of the hottest days of the year, he even brought my trashcan down to house for me. Great guy!

We had a sizable dead wasp nest hanging below the gutter of the second story of the house. I called around and was given quotes over $250 to get this nest removed. The BOG technician, Adam Bergstrom, came and gave me the best estimate, which is just a fraction of what others offered. Not only that, he walked around the house and took care of another tiny little dead wasp nest for me. They even sent a follow-up report via email. I am truly amazed with the professionalism and I highly recommend their services!

This is to recognize the Blades of Green tech Richard T. He is a very polite young man who identified himself as a Blades of Grass employee. Richard said that he would be doing a walk over the property and then performing the weed and lawn care services. He did his work efficiently and professionally.

Very courteous. A thorough job was done.

The tech Richard was great. He told me the application he was putting down along with communicating the special instructions regarding my grapevine and discussed his plan for treating around it. He verified the areas to be treated, and after he was finished he placed the application signage in ideal spots , not only visible to me but passers by who may have pets or children. He did a little extra by not just placing one sign near my driveway as usual, he also placed one on the other side of my property that is on a different street(I live on a corner) so anyone coming from any direction would be aware.

BOG takes care of my lawn shrubs and small trees for several years now. The lawn is now the best I have ever had and my shrubs are thriving. Extra care is provided for problems, rapidly and thoroughly. The techs are dedicated and pleasant to work with. BOG is fortunate to have them as employees.

I would have liked a phone call before leaving when treatment was completed. That way I could verify what was treated, and know what was wrong with the rose bushes. Maybe he could email /voicemail me with the information. I have a land line and dont receive texts.

Our Technicians were great and found a nest of bees that would we missed and could have ruined our summer. They took care of the nest, and saved our summer! Dominick Alton Thank YOU!
