I had a fantastic experience with Beds & Borders. From the very first meeting to the design and redesign, to the installation, and follow-up, they have been a wonderful company! I picked them after doing some research and really loving Andy s background and view on nature and design. I have a massive yard and Jesse came up with a beautiful, low maintenance design that will last me years and years! The plants he picked just gorgeous and so unique! The crew that did the work was fast, efficient, and it was obvious they truly loved what they do! They even worked in the rain. And the high-end hardscapes they installed and the lack of chemicals is so great! I didn t have to lift a finger or worry about a thing after they got here. My yard finally has definition and I m so motivated to do more with it now (once I can afford more ). It was pricey but again huge yard (half-acre) and they did just a ton of work! And I have almost 200 new plants! It was worth every penny! I ll add pictures when the plants grow in. For now pics wouldn t do them justice as they are all still babies and you cannot imagine the scope of my yard. But I can t wait to get them out here again! I used Beds and Borders to do some backyard landscaping, front yard landscape around an electrical box and redo edging around my house. Andy and Jesse came up with a great design that fit my budget and they listened to my ideas and needs. They were both very responsive to my questions and any changes I wanted to make to the design. The crew doing the installation was phenomenal. Highly skilled and professional. The plants looked great and have grown very nicely. Great communication from beginning to end.

We have hired many gardening services and gardeners. No one, even some of the big names in town, parallel the experience we just had with Beds and Borders. Our project was BIG and included leveling out a walkway plus adding better support as well as a re-do of front and back (very large space) greenery. They built some large planters for annuals in the big horseshoe back yard as well as moved around some existing pots. They brought in irrigation people to make sure everything worked correctly and made the pots self-watering. They cleaned up everything before they left. My favorite things working with Andy and his team is that are super good and quick communicators and are completely straight-shooter. They explain everything well, kept me involved as needed, answered questions and more. I could not be happier! Now if this 2024 rain would finally abate!

I wanted to wait a couple years before reviewing Beds & Borders, and I m happy to say that the boulder wall, steps, edging, and paver patio they installed haven t shifted a bit and still look great. They fixed my drainage problem, so no more sloppy mess in our backyard. Everyone on the B&B team was a pleasure to work with. I will definitely hire them again for my next project.

Beds & Borders designed and implemented a complete redesign of our courtyard and front lawn. Andy & Jesse, along with the rest of their crew, were great to work with. Beds & Borders was referred to us by a neighbor who used them 20+ years ago. They raved about their experience. Now, it is our turn. Jesse came out and looked at our property. His initial design was so intuitive. It was almost exactly what my husband & I had in mind. After a couple emails back & forth fine tuning our vision, Andy & Jesse came out to present the plan with colored, 3D print outs. They told us their availability was at the end of October. We had been waiting on the completion of our new swimming pool & concrete. The end of October was good for us, but we were apprehensive of the unknown weather patterns of MN that late in the Fall. The job was expected to be 5-days. Andy & Jesse came two weeks early and finished in 2.5 days. How is that for beating expectations! The crew was incredibly professional. Our neighbors were in awe of how one truck would come and unload the fill, followed by another dump truck less than 5-minutes later. The crew was lining up before dawn to get started, not losing a moment of daylight. It was really incredible to watch. The fact that Andy has been able to maintain this level of quality, and have a team that clearly like working together for 20+ is unheard of in any industry. I met with Andy for a consultation and found he had great design ideas. Also, he was upfront and honest about costs and expectations. We didnt end up using his services due to our budget, but we would definitely hire him if we were to go that route. Hes well organized and knowledgeable.

I cant say enough good things about Andy Freeland and the Beds and Borders team - we had several bids for a backyard project, and are so thankful we went with his group. He and his team were very responsive to our requests and ideas during the design and construction phases for a large backyard landscaping/hardscaping project around our pool. My family and I found the team to be professional, kind, on time, on budget, and their communication and attention to detail were outstanding. Andy did a great job coordinating multiple other teams (lighting, irrigation) and kept the timeline tight - I didnt have to worry about anything, I knew hed take care of everything.

This is the 2nd time we have hired this company and they continue to do a super job. Their people are efficient and very well organized. They always do an excellent job. Andy, the owner, does a great job of understanding what his customers are trying to do and putting together a result that works very well.

We used Beds & Borders for a recent patio design and installation to replace an aging deck, and everything turned out great! I wouldnt hesitate to use them again or recommend them to friends and family. They were cost competitive with other bids that we received, they worked with us to put together a great design for our back yard, and their crew did a great job with the installation. Andy checked in with us frequently to make sure things were going smoothly, and the crew were also great to deal with for minor questions and details. Very pleased with the results! Nov 2023 Update: After being pleased with our patio project, we hired Beds and Borders to replace a failing retaining wall and revamp our entire front yard landscaping. It was a much larger job than our patio, but once again everything went great, and we were very pleased with the resolution of a couple of issues that popped up during construction. Very happy we used Beds and Borders again, and still would not hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for a landscape project.

Andy and team were incredibly responsive from day 1. I knew what was happening and what to expect each step along the way, and I appreciated the proactive communication if there was going to be weather delays, etc. Im very happy with my new landscaping and I cant wait to see everything bloom! They put out quality work and Beds & Borders is a great company to work with.

We contacted the team at Beds & Borders early in 2021, and worked through a design with Jesse throughout the summer of 2021. The build-out team arrived right on time on May 12, 2022 and completed extensive revisions to our front and back gardens, installed a beautiful patio for our outdoor fireplace, installed stone steps, re-graded the corner of the yard, and also repositioned our in-ground sprinklers. The job came in on time (only 4 days on-site for all of that work), was billed to-the-penny from our final quote and work scope, and most importantly, it looks great. We are 100% pleased with the results. Bed & Borders did a great job for us.

Beds & Boarders did a phenomenal job from start to finish. Our landscaping needed a serious re-do and we couldnt be happier with the work that Andy and his very professional and friendly crew (seriously some of the nicest guys ever!) completed. Fantastic communication every step of the way. The plants they installed were healthy and beautiful. They added color and textures where we needed them. When we received the initial design they were responsive to requests for some changes to plant selections so we knew we would be happy with everything that was planted. The design was just what I wanted, with plenty of room for the plants to grow, with the edging placed out far enough to enable easy mowing of the lawn for as long as the plants live or until they get replaced. It also allowed for plenty of extra room to plant perennials and vegetables. The plant material was healthy, in good condition, and unique. Nothing boring and over used. The workers were courteous, prompt, hard working, and very professional. Couldn t be more happy or satisfied.

We hired Beds & Boards for a large landscaping and patio project in 2022, and wow, did they deliver! We worked with Jesse for the design process. He listened to our goals, put together a thoughtful & beautiful plan and was very supportive of our revisions along the way. Communication was often and clear, even allowing me to research each plant to be included in the yard to see if they were dog safe and working with me to replace them with good alternatives. Every member of the team that came to our home was professional and we enjoyed chatting with them all! Every little thing we had questions about or wanted changed or added was addressed. Chris was at the site every day and both he and Andy did such a wonderful job keeping us updated on what was happening and what to expect next. Beds and Borders were able to take our unkept .5 acre lot and turn it into an oasis even reusing a lot of what we had there previously. I loved how much Andy cared and thought about the environment and things like pollinators. I would give more than five stars if I could!

We had an excellent experience working with Beds & Borders. Very respectful and responsive to any questions we had over the course of the project. The crew was professional and it was nice to hear them having fun and enjoying working together. We pushed it right up to the snow, but they guarantee the results and stated will be back next Spring to make sure all is well. Would definitely recommend!

They did a retaining wall along our pond along with a patio with fire ring. It turned out great. Andy and his crew were super responsive and worked closely with us. Many of our neighbors have loved the result. I have some construction background and my wife has a green thumb and were pleased with the care they took in their workmanship from the staff.

Beds & Borders removed and replaced landscaping that was 25 years old. Andy and Jesse developed a comprehensive plan which they reviewed with us and accepted our modifications. Andy was very good about keeping us apprised of schedule. The crew was fantastic as was the foreman Chris. They all went the extra mile to make sure we were satisfied. Andy reviewed care and maintenance of all our new plants with us. Beds & Borders probably isnt the cheapest option but in this case I feel like we got what we paid for, which is to say that we are very pleased with the design and installation and especially the final product.

We partnered with Beds and Borders to do a pretty comprehensive landscape refresh at our home in June of this year, and are so happy with the result! Andy and Jesse worked with us initially to come up with a plan that worked for our yard and our budget. Once the crew arrived to transform our yard, they were so professional and adept at their craft. They cleaned up each night and were friendly and willing to answer any questions we had along the way. Andy stopped over once the project was complete to do a walk through of all of the improvements, which was really helpful to us: he reminded us of what they had removed, what they planted and then gave us some great tips and tricks for keeping the plantings watered and healthy. We used B&B to do our backyard landscaping and could not of been happier. I started searching for a company to put together this project a few years ago. I looked at many different options and after a exhaustive search I chose B&B for the design. Jesse put together exactly what we asked for an oasis in the cities. Through the design he gave us ideas and suggestions but also listened to our input as we worked through changes. While we waited to start the project I came back to Jesse with a significant change. He worked with me and we came up with an enhanced plan. B&B communicated through the whole process. When the work began their entire crew was professional and treated my property respectfully and cleaned up after each day. My biggest review is not only that the work was great is that when I would contacted them they got back to me right away. For me the best thing of this project is the family time that we can have around the fire, dinner on the patio and just great enjoyment. Thanks to all the B&B crew.

I cant say enough about how positive our experience was working with Andy and Jesse and the rest of the Beds and Borders crew. Our project was fairly large in scale and included a complete landscaping install from scratch. Starting with the design process, you could feel their energy and excitement for what they do...The vision they brought took our initial ideas and transformed them into a design that perfectly complemented our lot and architectural style of our house. The level of communication from Andy was beyond expectations. We never had to wonder what was going on. Not only was the project completed quicker than originally estimated, we always knew exactly what was happening and what to expect day to day. The onsite crew was so professional and friendly. If they said theyd be there at 7am, they were there at 6:55 ready to go. We also really appreciated their attention to detail and level of execution - Everything turned out absolutely beautiful. We have had a great experience working with Andy and Jesse. We needed to start over with our yard and they helped us figure out a design that would work for us. We knew we needed to do this project over several years and they worked with us to plan out this project in phases. We pruned and removed trees, put in a fire pit and landscaped around that area, landscaped areas in the back and front yards, we are putting in brick patio, landscaping around our house, and putting in a garden. We have been so happy with the work they have done so far and we now love being in our yard! I highly recommend them, and we will be continuing our phases until our whole yard is complete.

Beds and Borders did a fantastic job in landscaping my front yard after I had some home remodeling done. From the beginning working with Andy and the team in creating a design and the process of the work was so easy and stress free. Andy kept me updated on the crews start date and the process. The project took 5 days, as per the expectation I was given. At the end of the project, Andy did a walk through to make sure everything was satisfactory. I am so pleased with the outcome. I plan on having some more work done and I am definitely going to have Beds and Borders do the job! They were so easy to work with.

This is our 2nd time using Beds and Borders Landscape Design in 2 years. We needed to have a row of blighted box hedges and a dying tree removed from our front patio. Also this was a good time to do a complete redesign. Jesse P provided a well thought out and detailed design plan and estimate (total approx $2500). When compared to other landscaping companies we looked at, the cost was somewhat higher ($300-500) but the attention made to the design and our wishlist was worth it. Jesse and Andy did a great job keeping us informed of their timetable and responded to questions promptly. On install day, their team showed up on time and completed the job in the expected amount of time. It is the extra details that stood out to us. Not only did they remulch the area that was part of their design plan, they also added a layer of much to a completely separate area of the front patio to make it all looks complete. Also, their team picked up and removed all the locator flags from the front lawn (this is a small detail but one that shows the level of attention). We highly recommend their team and will be looking to work with them on our next major landscaping project either this or next year.

Beds and Borders is the best!! I had them do an extensive design and implementation which included a large retaining wall, new patio, lighting, sprinkler system, as well as all new plants and trees!! They were creative and picked just the right shrubs to ensure year around blooms! Their service was exceptional!! I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

All the people at Beds and Borders were very prompt and friendly. Andy and Jesse worked with me to achieve the design I was wanting within my budget. They were able keep some of the original plants from the old landscaping relocating them to help save some additional money. I would highly recommend them.

Andy listened to my ideas for my garden and made a beautiful plan. He has done hardscaping for me ,too, that was beautiful-- folks going by would stop to take pictures.

Beds & Borders designed a garden for a problem area of our yard that is on a slope and gets too much sun. It looks beautiful and will not require too much water once the plants get established. I couldnt believe how quickly they did the work; it was all done in about 8 hours and they cleaned up so well after themselves that you couldnt even tell they had been here. When I had an issue with the shrubs surviving in my high clay soil, Andy advised me on what would be best suited to the soil and replaced my shrubs. Its really refreshing to work with a company that stands behind its work and does exactly what they say they will do! I highly recommend them.

Went very well. Cant say enough. We had 3 different landscaping companies come in for an initial estimate. We were doing a full lot project and while we had an idea of what we wanted to do, we needed some suggestions and direction on what to do and how to approach. Andy and Jessie listened to what we were looking for and came up with some very concise ideas around what would work and fit our needs. Other companies who came in were frankly all over the place and really didnt seem to listen to what we were looking for. They were unorganized and werent nearly as concise around what sort of vision they might have for our project. We went ahead and paid Beds and Borders to put together a design for us so we could visualize on paper. They put together a great design/blueprint that we used to make the final decision to go ahead with the project. This included pictures of the plants and trees they were suggesting. A huge help. We replaced our entire front yard with new sod, landscaped a small area by our front entry, landscaped an area by a deck in the back yard. Planted 15 new trees (about 6) for privacy in the back yard and planted 10 arborvitae for privacy in our front yard. Also tore out a small mulched area and seeding with grass. Crew was very much on time, on schedule, and made quick work of the project (barely 4 days). They took great care to minimize any damage to existing lawn, clean everything up at the end of the day, and were super courteous with the way they worked, even making sure not to block the garage/driveway with equipment, etc. Weve had plenty of work done around our home and very much appreciate that kind of courteous work- something thats not really expected. Everything looks incredible and will really give us the privacy and outdoor space were looking for as time goes on. Andy is very knowledgable, is super prompt answering any questions and returning calls/emails, and its evident he and the rest of the crew have passion for what they do. Would definitely recommend hiring them for any project. Large or small. Only B (Good) rating above is for price. This only reflects they werent the cheapest. Want to be clear- Cost of our project was very fair, not exorbitant. We would do project with them again and will hire them again in the future. Quality of their work well worth the money.

Weve lived in the same house for 30+ years and have been fortunate to have worked with several very good remodelers and landscapers. Our experience with Beds & Borders was exceptional. Starting with the design phase, working with Andy and Jesse was great. They were a tremendous help in selecting plants and a layout for a seamless design to blend in with our existing landscape. After a few meetings to work out details they gave us a projected start date and stayed in constant contact until the project began. Both before and during the project, any emails, texts or phone calls with questions were always returned promptly. They started as promised and arrived with a large crew. It was obvious they had been well trained and everyone knew exactly what to do. Each worker seemed to take pride and attack their task with meticulous care. With a project that we thought could stretch into a couple of weeks, was completed in a few days and looks great. We hired Beds and Borders to landscape a backyard patio for us. It turned out beautifully! The guys did a fast efficient job and Andrew really has an eye for the detailing of flora. (I would love to post some pictures, but as I write this, the patio is now under 3 feet of backyard snow!) We hope to use them again for a future project. Update- We used Andy and crew again for some front yard updates. Once again, you guys did an awesome job in only one day of work! The boulders were a nice touch!

Beds and Borders did a great job with a couple of landscape projects weve had. They listened to our needs and provided a good design that worked for us. They showed up on time and performed the work they promised. Post project cleanup could have been a little better, but in the overall scope of what they did, it was a minor issue. Overall I would highly recommended their service.

While the price for adding a patio and landscaping around my house was as high as expected, the quality, professionalism, and customer service were top notch. The crew got the work done faster than I thought reasonably possible, and it looks better than I imagined. Working with Andy to plan the project was a pleasure as well, as he was a very good listener and very quickly understood and planned what I wanted. He accommodated unanticipated changes with a minimum of cost overruns. We hired Beds and Borders to redo a rock wall and patio for us. The company was very good about letting us know where things were at as to when they would show up and how long the project would take. Andy stopped by a couple of times to go over what we wanted done. Once the project stared it went in a timely manner and was very well done. The workers were very good about asking what I wanted done as the project went along and as things changed and needed to be changed or talked about. The completed stonework was better than I anticipated and had hoped for. It was a pleasure to work with Andy and the three people that did the stone work. All were friends and easy to deal with. We are beyond pleased with the job Beds and Borders did with our yard. We did a complete revamp of our yard/landscape and they did an amazing job. We were very impressed with the design work and collaboration we had with the design team. The execution was fantastic. The crew was very pleasant, very clean and great to work with. Andy and the team have done a number of projects for us.... including stone patios, gas grill install, gas fire pit, and plants, trees, and flowers. Quality product all around. Works well with other subs on bigger projects. Stands by the product - if the plant dies he will change it. But it starts with the selection. They pick beautiful trees.... and they check in on them. They know design, but do design/build as well. They have ideas... the candleberry that they planted 7 years ago might be my favorite tree from that project. Decorative rocks, borders (duh, read the name), flowers. Moved some trees... and get this: they did not destroy the lawn, putting plywood under their equipment. A bit pricey for basic work (like just mulch), but a great investment if you want a quality job on anything else of any size done. Call them!

Andy and his crew renovated our front yard including installation of a rain garden and we are very happy with the results. Nice people with experience! I would hire them again.

We used Beds and Borders for an entire yard of landscaping at our new construction home. Andy incorporated plants from my list of favorites that I provided and added others that I m excited to see mature. His team worked hard and did all the work in three days, including a paved patio. Andy was patient with me as I made some edits to the plan while in progress. I m most excited to see the native area that was planted on the slope leading to the wetland area. No mowing the hill, a filter for runoff, and a home for bees and butterflies. I can t wait to see this yard mature!

We had the biggest weed patch ever. Our landscaping was over forty years old and we had never ending weeds growing everywhere. We had to redo all sides of our house. We are not home on the weekends, so Jesse came up with a plan that will minimize any upkeep into the future. Our courtyard is unique with climbing (and sitting) rocks for the grand-kids and a fresh look with a variety of grasses and miniature pine-like bush that I am not allergic to. The team of people working on the project were hardworking, professional, and kept the whole area clean. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

We are really happy with the dry creek bed Beds & Borders created in our yard. The competitive proposals either did not fully address the problem, lacked detail, or only included the main attraction without integrating with the rest of the yard. In contrast, Beds & Borders created a comprehensive solution including boulders, stepping stones, and a variety of plants. They designed a beautiful, detailed plan that both addressed the drainage problem and beautified the space. During installation, the crew was hard-working, adaptable, and friendly. From the time that we started interviewing landscapers, Andy stood out for his enthusiasm, knowledge and ability to turn our ideas into a beautiful and livable design. Andy and Jesse put together a great design and worked with us on phasing and modifications to meet our budget. One of the things that I really appreciated was that they took our yard from demolition to completion in about three weeks, minimizing the time that everything was torn up. The design created interest and depth in our front yard and transformed our backyard into a beautiful space to relax and entertain. The plants they selected are beautiful and unique and the entire garden is growing out beautifully. We get so many compliments from our friends and neighbors! The Beds & Borders crew was professional worked hard to complete our projects. They cleaned up after each day and took care not to damage existing areas as they worked. Andys subcontractors were all exceptional and coordinated well to get the project done. Spring rains did delay the schedule of some of the contractors but they kept us up to date on schedules and completed the work as promised. At completion of the project Andy provided us with a guide to take care of our landscape and manage any weeds, and he came out to replace some plants that failed over the summer. Our original project started the summer of 2016. We hired Beds and Borders to come back again in 2017 to do some updates and freshen up the mulch beds. This is an exceptional team of people from the first call to the last planting. I highly recommend this company for all your landscape and gardening design dreams.

Beds & Borders did a complete landscaping make over of our entire yard. From the creative design plan to the finished product, everything exceeded our expectations, We had both practical and aesthetic features that needed addressing, and all all were completed to exacting specifications. A complete drain tile installation addressed our water remediation needs. And the installation of a wheelchair/walkway path from the front driveway down the slope into the backyard allowed my husband access to the backyard for the first time since 2009. Jesse did his wheelchair accessibility homework and installed the path according to accessibility protocol for grade and slope. We requested some unique specimen plantings as well as architectural focus throughout the design, in addition to rabbit & deer resistant shrubs and plants whenever possible - and all this with low maintenance in mind. These goals could not have turned out better - right down to the new sod. The crew was courteous, professional, and helpful at explaining the process to us as the project proceeded. They were also very willing to transplant a few salvaged specimens - even to an area not being redesigned. The crew cleaned up daily prior to the close of the day, and there was very little dust and debris left behind. This is commendable considering the amount of rain to be dealt with throughout the duration of the installation. Andy also worked with other professionals for the finishing touches: a new irrigation system, landscape lightening, and suggesting the craftsman who refinished our existing pergola and teak love seat and chairs. The finished look is all that was hoped for and much more - we could not be happier!
