Wow! The Gardenzilla team had arrived, cleared all the leaves, bagged them, lined the bags up at the curb -- 27 bags! -- and left before I was downstairs! They did a great job -- thorough and efficient, and my yard looked great.

I am very pleased with the service I received from Gardenzilla. They were easy to book, they came well within the allotted timeframe, the job was done well, and I thought it was priced properly. I will be calling on Gardenzilla again for sure.

First time we had used Gardenzilla. An 18 foot long 3 foot high old barberry hedge needed to be taken out including all stumps. Reliable - they showed up within the agreed upon time window, and pleasant to deal with on site. There was a discrepancy with the final invoice from the estimate, but this was resolved quickly, professionally and with genuine apologies from Gardenzilla for their mistake. We recommend them and will definitely use them again for various landscaping jobs/maintenance. Michael Chudy, whom we worked with, knows his stuff!

Gardenzilla has been maintaining my property for the last few years. Each year, I have to raise the same issues - issues that are part of routine maintenance, but which the crew do not undertake if they think that nobody is paying attention. For example, each year, they do not weed the garden unless I say something to the office. One year they didnt mow half of the lawn until I complained. Of the 4 sides of the house, they routinely do not clean up the side that nobody walks down or is able to see readily. With the recent storms, and the crews lack of maintenance on blowing and bagging leaves every week, the leaves on my driveway and each of the walkouts covered the drains, causing them to back up, and let water into my basement. When I called to report this, the response I received was sorry about the flooding, but I dont see that many complaints on your file. (Perhaps it was my fault that I didnt complain enough?) Besides the suggestion that I should have complained more about a service that was not being performed as part of routine weekly maintenance, the office offered me a higher level service which presumably cost more, so that I could be assured that in fact, work that I had contracted for under weekly routine maintenance, would in fact be performed. After the complaint about the walk-outs, the following week, all leaves were blown and bagged. Unfortunately, the crew decided that surely no one was paying attention to the 4th side of the house that nobody walks down because that area has looked the same since spring - piles of leaves everywhere. After reporting this final issue, I decided I had had enough. Gardenzillas office staff may be very responsive, but if you the ground crews are hit and miss.

Two visits to our home. One for chinch bug issues on on our street. One for some work on the front lawn. Work was done on schedule and well. Happy with both visits.

I have used Gardenzilla for both garden and snow removal services, the latter for at least 4-5 years, the former for just one year. I have nothing but praise for both services and would highly recommend both. For snow removal, I had used 3-4 services prior to this one but none were as reliable or as responsive to queries on a consistent basis as Gardenzilla. Snow removal is a difficult business if done well, particularly during a bad winter, and not a lot of firms are good at it consistently. As for the garden services, again, their service is super. Their people are reliable and responsive to special requests. They do not just mow lawns but they are gardeners in the true sense of the word and know when plants should be deadheaded and weeds removed and so many other things if you have a garden to maintain. Overall, if you are looking for either of these services, I highly recommend you try Gardenzilla.

Overall, a good experience, quality work, and super nice and professional crew. We needed some help trimming 3 of the largest shrubs and small trees on our city lot in Toronto and reached out to Gardenzilla for a quote. Determining how our need fit took some time as the standard model is a more comprehensive scope at established price points with incentive for recurring contracts. After some emails and pics we agreed on an ad gov hourly visit. Was a little disappointed that due to backlog in Sorimg it took about a month to book the crew for our visit. We wanted to meet with the crew due to custom nature of the job. We booked for a weekday morning and there was good communication leading up but crew arrived afternoon due to delay on earlier job. Crew was very friendly and after walk around to discuss needs took about 2.5 hours to complete the work. They were more thorough than needed but great quality work, cleanup. Easy wrap up and payment process. A little costly for our small job but will definitely use them again if needed.

I took lawn seeding service this year. The worker used a machine that plants grass seeds directly into the existing lawn. It was not just sprinkle grass seeds that many lawn care companies do. Mike at Gardenzilla saved my bacon when I was prepping a house for sale! We discovered what appeared to be a sink hole in the backyard. Mike came and was able to determine the problem. He and his crew excavated, filled in the unsecure area with loads of dirt and made the area safe so that we could move forward with showing the property! I do my own gardening because I have a very small lot, but I use your snow removal services which are absolutely great. You are always on time and do a very nice job.

They do a good job, are reasonably priced and respond quickly to questions.

Over the past two years, we have turned to Gardenzilla to help us both with new plantings and with fall and spring clean-up of our gardens. The gardens are not large, but were carefully planned and landscaped twenty years ago. Over time, some plants thrived and others did not, creating new growing conditions. Gardenzilla has met these new growing conditions beautifully and the gardens are continuing to delight. They have been very flexible and responsive in scheduling - both last spring and this we have had major repairs done to the house and access to the garden has been limited, but Gardenzilla has been able to schedule around this. Everything looks far more beautiful than it ever could had we done the work ourselves.

My lawn has never looked so good. I had a weed forest before working with Gardenzilla and I tried so many things to address it but I often ended up killing the grass and ending up with more weeds. After many years of trying different snow removal services unsuccessfully, we are shocked that we found a service that was prompt and professional, from the first inspection of our home, to their billing policy, and to the response when the front walk was inadvertently missed, Gardenzilla performed a solid service at a sound price. Granted there was little snow this year, so on a per shovel basis, the price might a surprise to some. However, it also works the other way and I am sure that if we had snow every week, there would not be any letdown in their service. Indeed last night, in one of our few snowstorms, Gardenzilla arrived as expected late at night so my driveway was clear when I woke up. We will retain Gardenzilla next year.

We used Gardenzilla snow removal service for the first time this winter and were extremely pleased. Snow was always cleared thoroughly and as soon as each snowfall stopped. I didnt have to shovel once.

Good work by knowledgeable crew. We have a complex front & back garden fully planted with perennials. They also cleaned out the window wells and prepped the containers for the roof-top garden.

Great job by the team that did our Spring yard clean up. Very thorough and took great care not to damage any plants. The lost star is for the communication with the call center used by the business which has no information on when the work would actually be done and all enquiries are then routed to the head office. Hopefully this is something that can be improved in the future. That said, I will definitely use Gardenzilla again.

Ive hired Gardenzilla on 2 occasions to help with my front yard, first to install an entirely native flowering garden with interlocking, and second to do seasonal maintenance of said garden. Both times they were thorough and professional, and I am making arrangements to hire them again. Great experience overall. From the initial call online w/ Simon, to the great three-man crew who did the work, Gardenzilla hit all the high notes and checked all the boxes. There very busy so there was a 6 week delay between sigining the initial contract to when they actually performed the work. That aside, I would definitely recommend them for your next project. Edit of edit: Front-running the upcoming city-wide ban on 2-stroke gardening equipment, Gardenzilla will apparently use electric blowing equipment for most every customer that asks! Gas powered blowers can so enrage your neighbours that theyre soon to be illegal in Toronto -as they are in so many US cities already: City Council has voted to ban some of the dirtiest engines on Earth. Now City Staff will put together a plan. This summer, Toronto City Council took a big step towards the banning of 2-stroke gas engines throughout the City of Toronto. Two stroke engines are gasoline or diesel burning engines primarily found in lawn care equipment like leafblowers and lawn mowers. These small engines produce far more noise, air pollution, and greenhouse gasses than they should for the amount of work they accomplish. They create more pollution per minute than cars and trucks, and stir up microscopic pollutants known to cause lung cancer, heart disease, and other respiratory illnesses. Edit: Gardenzilla has several electrical blowers in service and they more quietly clean small lots! EDIT a month later: same gas powered noisemaker. Same property. Promise to use a broom on this tiny property was renewed, and owner explained that electrical blowers are on the way . HERE MY ORIGINAL POST, altered at request of owner, to reflect his undertaking to not use gasoline powered blowers on the 15 foot lot across from me: Twice these guys showing up before 8, blasting for 10 minutes with gasoline-powered blowers, pushing the few found leaves under their truck and driving off. And, after the second time company was called, asking them to use a broom or rake instead, especially on microscopic properties (porch is only like 75 square feet...the walkway less than 3 feet wide) company owner called back, and will ask the workers to use a broom. Impressed with the leadership and responsibility; the owner says that they will voluntarily break out the brooms on small properties, until their apparently quieter electric blowers are on hand. I have had Gardenzilla do both my lawn maintenance and snow removal for years now. Their team is great and always do and excellent job. Their admin staff is very responsive as well. A week ago I had Victor and Ian from the team come for a special request to cut back some out of hand bushes and some unruly vines coming in from my neighbour s garden. They did a wonderful job of cutting everything back and tackling the vines and other growth I wanted gone. It looks great now. Jim did our Spring Cleanup this year and did an excellent job! Weve been having Gardenzilla do our cleanups twice a year for several years and they always do a great job.

We had hired 2 other landscaping companies for different work and we were super unimpressed with the quality of the work they did for us. When Gardenzilla came to do a spring yard clean-up, it was night and day! They worked really hard, got everything done in a few hours, and our property looks the best it ever has - they went above and beyond in terms of making sure every corner was properly cleaned up, an old tree root was taken out, and all of our yard waste bags were put under the covered porch (as requested) because of rain the forecast. Thank you, Tobias and your colleague (sorry we didnt get her name - maybe Lisa?)! We will definitely be hiring your company again. The only thing that we would have changed is to have been given a heads-up re: when they were coming (even just the day before since these things are hard to schedule in advance) without having to pay $40 to get the 24-hour notice. Still, an overall amazingly positive experience - would highly recommend Gardenzillla for yard work!

I tried Gardenzilla for the first time to do spring clean-up. They were terrific and the money was well spent. They raked all debris (and there was lots!) from our front and back lawns and our many garden beds. They cut back plants which I should have cut back in the fall. And, they edged our beds and our lawns. They bagged the garden garbage and cleaned-up well. Now we just need some sun! Will call Gardenzilla again for the fall clean-up.
