This is a great nursery! Largest selection of houseplants by far and so many interesting plants, flowers, and herbs. This is a locally owned business and the family is wonderful. I love that they are a multigenerational local family owned business!

I went to Lavocats for the first time yesterday, I was looking for a blue rose of Sharon tree which I found! I also had questions about some issues with my Japanese maple, and I was helped by Jim, he was super knowledgeable and very nice, he helped me with everything I needed! Significantly better pricing than where we had been going in the past. Staff members were very helpful, but not pushy. The setup with the shades areas was a really nice experience. Would recommend you stop here and look around for small and large landscaping jobs. Delivery fees also lower compared to competitors.

Talk about meticulous detail! I recently had Rob from Lovacats Nursing and Landscaping come out to my home and perform some landscaping. All I can say is Rob and his crew were absolutely amazing, they did an absolutely phenomenal job! I truly was very impressed and I gotta say I am a very picky person that is very hard to please. Lovacats went above and beyond my expectations and my wife and I could not be happier. What I can tell you is that Lovacats will be servicing our home from now!

Best greenhouse in the Buffalo area! My little dog is allowed to come in, the plant selection is wonderful and healthy, nice pots and garden accessories, and super friendly staff. They definitely think about how a gardener s day goes. There are cool drinks available because who isn t thirsty while shopping, and I just got a notice that for May and early June there will be weekend food trucks! I love this because this time of year I get so involved in my garden projects that I do postpone eating. They are in tune with the holistic needs of gardeners like me!

Beautiful place with beautiful plants. I bought 3 plants from this greenhouse a peace Lilly, money tree & Ti plant (money tree & Ti were on sale) unfortunately all of them have Mealybugs. I only had a couple small house plants before this purchase and these 3 were placed no where near them. So unfortunately I believe I just brought them home this way. Not a terrible infestation. But the mealy bugs are there nonetheless. Had it not been for this, I would have gave 5 stars!

This was my go to place for plants and landscaping until today. My daughter was home from school for a classmates funeral this morning and wanted to go to the nursery to look at plants. While we were looking at the air plants she accidentally knocked a bird off the table and it broke. We took the bird to a girl who worked there and told her what happened. She told us we had to pay 50% of it. Not a big deal, it was a $6 bird. My daughter turned away and just started sobbing. It had already been an emotionally taxing day. I just hugged her until we collected ourselves before heading to the counter. I told her to pick an air plant that she wants and we ll leave. I payed for the bird and told them to just throw it away when they offered it to us. I have spent so much money on plants, supplies and landscaping there but will be taking our business elsewhere from now on.

Weve been getting all of our annual & perennial flowers and other outdoor plants at Lavocats for a few years now and have always had a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, plants are healthy with a wide variety to choose from, and the greenhouse, shop, and outdoor area are lovely. We always look forward to stopping by!

Something for everyone from fruit trees, grasses and shrubbery to every annual imagineable, pond/water plantings, vegetables, a huge selection of hanging plants. And this is the first place Ive been in 5 months that had a selection of air plants. Beautiful pots, birdhouses, feeders, and baths... I coupd go on and on. They also do classes, and have terrarium and bonsai equipment. Oh and also deliver, plant, design, and do landscaping. Wow!

I used to love going here.... until today. I had a full punch card so I was off to buy more annuals. I had everything picked out and on my cart; the carts with the extremely long bottom shelf. I was trying to get around a man who was on his phone and he was kind of blocking the aisle. I made a tight turn to try to squeeze through and that elongated bottom shelf of the cart hit a resin statue on the floor next to a dresser. It fell over and its head broke off. As a person who abides by doing the right thing, I took it over to the register to let them know what happened. The cashier mentioned that there would be a charge for the breakage. I told her I shouldnt be punished for doing the right thing by letting them know. It broke cleanly and could easily be glued back together and sold at a discount. I walked away and continued shopping. Another woman, presumably a manager walked over to me and told me it was a store policy that I be charged for the accident with the statue. I argued my point that I could not see the bottom of the cart and had no idea it was going to come in contact with anything. She insisted that I must pay for it (yeah, um, I think there is something called breakage insurance that even small businesses can get). I could have left the broken thing on the floor and pretended I knew nothing about it, but because I did the right thing I was going to be punished. I left without my items and threw my $10 punch card on the ground. I will never shop there again. OH, And I work at another nursery and I used to send business their way if someone was looking for houseplants. NO MORE.

I cannot say enough great things about Lavocat s. It s just the best nursery I ve been to by a mile. So glad I made the trip.

Lavocats is one of our favorite nurseries to visit in WNY. Their staff is so friendly and helpful. I also really appreciate that they have clear labels on their house plants indicating which ones are pet-friendly and which ones are not. It makes shopping with confidence a breeze!

Just had my landscaping done and am so happy with the outcome. Not only does it all look fantastic but everyone was just so nice throughout the entire process. There was fantastic follow up and they were always available to answer any questions. The guys that did the installation were courteous, helpful, planted everything as I wanted and incredibly neat. I would highly recommend Lavocats!

We had Donnie Lavocat design and install a backyard shade garden, and a garden wall in front of our house. What wonderful landscaping results Donnie and his crew created, all at a reasonable price. Everyone on his staff were focused on their task (not their cell phones), did their work promptly and thoroughly, and they were all very polite and courteous. Their work product has received the highest praise from all our neighbors. We give our highest recommendation to Lavocat Nursery.

We used their landscaping service to remove and replace some old hedges. Everyone at Lavocats was very helpful and knowledgeable, from the staff at the nursery, to Donnie and his landscaping crew. The landscapers were so nice, extremely professional and paid attention to every detail. When they finished the job, the yard was left in beautiful condition and the plantings are healthy, carefully spaced and staked. It is exactly what we wanted. We give Lavocats entire staff our highest recommendation.

I spent quite a bit of money on 3 shrubs last year. I specifically asked if they would do okay in large pots and was told, I dont see why not! Now this year I have 3 giant pots that I also bought from there, 3 dead shrubs, and NONE of them fall under warranty. I was misled, misinformed, and will not be returning or recommending to anyone.

Five big stars! After a very disappointing and frustrating experience at a nearby nursery, I stopped on a whim at Lavocats, where I have previously purchased flowers, to ask questions about small decorative trees. Steve was exceedingly helpful to me, and he patiently explained all of the available options and the advantages/disadvantages of each. I came back the next day with my husband, and Ashley also helped us to sort through the choices and to pick the best option for us. Our new limelight hydrangea tree will be delivered and planted for us (at a bargain price, IMO), and we could not be happier. Thanks, Lavocats!

Drove all the way from Rochester and got 4 plants, some pots and spent a good penny at this greenhouse. When I got home, I realised my $40 alocasia was infested with bugs! I rinsed the roots and repotted. Two weeks later and my plant is clearly dying. I contacted the green house and they pretty much blamed me and took no accountability. Beware my plant was Infested.

Last year my niece and I bought four hanging cone planters. The woman there said we could bring the planters back this year and have them refilled. I assumed there would be a charge which would be OK but that didn t happen. On returning them the lady was very nasty and said they re not doing that this year and that we will just have to get our hands dirty. I understand they may have had to change their mind but the rudeness certainly was not needed. There are plenty of other fine nurseries to shop at which is what I will be doing this year and in the future.

This is one of my top 3 places to buy plants! The staff are all very friendly and the selection is always wonderful for indoor and outdoor plants alike. Only thing is - I ve started to inspect the plants I m browsing before purchasing, for pests. It s not too often but once in a while, I leave a plant behind and inform staff (who are always thankful for the information). I know pests are hard to control especially with the influx of inventory they receive. The plants go through a lot of stress getting to the nursery and your home. That said, I m not trying to give the nursery a bad rep! Just be sure to take the right next steps if you don t want to leave the plant on the shelf!

Knowledgeable and friendly staff and great trees and plants

I stopped at Lavocats today on my way to another nursery today, but never made it. What a great selection of healthy plants. The bushes and trees are easily accessible with paved paths so one doesnt get muddy. After wondering around for less than a few minutes, I was approached by Danielle who asked it I needed assistance. She was friendly and knew about all the bushes and trees I needed. She helped me pick out things and called on her walkie talkie to see if what I wanted was coming in soon. I even found a Flamethrower Redbud and was able to pick out one from several beautiful choices. Inside the greenhouse Kathy was more than happy to show me what I was looking for. Chris was nice enough to load the 6 ft. tree into my truck and assured me that it would thrive in the location I had picked for it. Lovacats is one of the best-kept secrets in WNY. I am headed there next week to pick up four more bushes due for delivery....plus, I get to use my Lovacats punch card for a cash discount!!!!!

Wonderful service and selection. Ive purchased indoor plants and planters in the past and just purchased a beautiful Christmas tree. Lavocats always has seasonal merchandise so its a great spot to shop for gifts too.

We recently had Rob and his crew plant about 9 trees in our backyard, and we are very satisfied with everything. The whole experience, from visiting the nursery to pick out our trees, to calling with questions, to the estimate, and the actual cleanout, then planting, was thorough, professional, and looks great. And the cost was very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Lavocats is my new Mennes. Love walking in & breathing deep. Right now(Jan.) they have a variety of wonderful indoor plants & pots for every taste. Cant wait for spring. Its family owned & all staff r knowledgeable & friendly

Just be careful... They have a vast range of plants to purchase. However, if there is a plant that has a specific need unlike the others (distilled water, specific humidity, etc.) they do not always provide it. Do your research before purchasing as you may end up with a plant that dies within a week at no fault of your own. Also, dont be surprised if their somewhat overwatering results in gnats in your home. You should probably change the soil when you get home...

Way overpriced and questionable practice. First of all, Id love to support local and family business. I heard many good things about Lavocats, they indeed have friendly staff, nice and clean facility, and good variety and selection of plants, but the more I went to Lavocats the more I find it is way overpriced and there are some questionable practice. 1. Purchased and paid for 10 bags of leaf compost, and then they told me they only have 5 bags left, and 3 out of the 5 bags are ripped open. Most retailers would discard or discount those open bag compost, mulch or stones, but they insisted no material loss without weighting or measuring, and they told me to take the 3 open bags compost at full price; 2. I was looking for a plant that would attract hummingbird, they recommended a perennial called Butterfly Weed in a small container, which cost around 20 dollars, which is very expensive for a perennial, only one week after that, I found the exact same perennial and in same size at Mischlers for 10 dollars each. In addition, I also found the aforementioned leaf compost, same brand and same size at another local nursery for 4 dollars per bag, while Lavocats demands 5.50 dollars per bag, even for the open bagged ones. I can not understand Lavocats pricing approach, but it seems way overpriced to me; 3. I ordered their bulk mulch for delivery, which cost significantly higher than big box stores, and I was hoping to get a superior product but I find there is no material difference. The delivery was quick and friendly, but the total amount/volume is less than I expected. We used to purchase about 6 cubic yards equivalent amount of bagged mulch from big box store for our yard, but the 6 cubic yards from Lavocats delivery did not cover 70 percent of the area we used to mulch. Bulk mulch delivery is difficult for customer to measure and it may also be difficult for merchant to precisely quantify when prepare the delivery. I am reluctant to say but I dont think I received the amount I ordered, and I wont be going back again.

Excellent selection of healthy plants. It is a bit out of my way but oh so worth the drive. I am a hummingbird gardener and good nectar plants have always been hard to find. Lavocats does have some of the more unusual and harder to find selections. Included is a photo of my Tacoma stans, a southwest native shrub that I purchased last year from Lavocats.

We used Lavocats for our landscaping and they were excellent. They did a beautiful job, their prices were reasonable and the plants look great. On top of that they were great with communication and super quick to respond to emails and phone calls which is something Ive found many small businesses lack in. We will definitely be recommending them to friends and family.

By far the friendliest and knowledgeable staff I have encountered. I run a landscaping service and anytime I need something quick Chirs always comes to the rescue. Keep it up Lavacats!

I can t say enough good things about this family run business! After getting a major run around from four other landscapers, we called Don for a quote. He came out to the site, gave us a quote in a timely fashion, modified and worked within our budget, and scheduled the work to be done. He and the crew showed up on time, were polite, knowledgeable, and took much pride in their work. We are 100% satisfied with Lavocats, and will recommend and continue to use them for future landscaping projects!

Broke down and drifted into the parking lot. Very nice people! Also, it looked like they had some high quality xmas trees! Would break down there again someday!

They had the best looking Christmas trees in town! Not the biggest selection. But definitely the nicest!

Best nursery around. Was going to stop at one closer to our house but they were closed and saw this one had good reviews so we drove out here and was amazed! Everything is so organized and what a hugeeee selection! They have everything here and then some. Everyone was so helpful and the lady who cashed us out even called her husband and went out of her way to make sure we knew the right way of how to plant all the plants/trees we bought. Definitely recommend this place. Family owned and no middle man .

The BEST service of any nursery in the area Ive been too, great selection and prices, and my kids love the fish pond and fully fenced in playground. Lavocats is the only greenhouse I visit now.

Bought our christmas tree here. They were so nice and accommodating! We had just come from another place down the road, which was not very nice and it was very overpriced. Stopped in Lavocats and we were slightly overwhelmed by the prices (only because we recently moved to Buffalo from a more rural area and we were used to paying a lot less) but as we were about to leave we were approached by a very nice man who showed us some cheaper trees outside. We found a beautiful tree which they wrapped for us and even put it on our car and tied it down! So glad we stopped! Thank you!
