Horrible experience! They keep rescheduling again and again, and when you report on the app they again reschedule it and never work on time! Don t ever work with them!

I wouldnt recommend this provider! Very unreliable! They are middle men company dealing with unproven individual lawn care services. They missed several schedules one after another, now our grass is out of control. Lawn Starter is not taking responsibility for anything that goes wrong.

My partner and I did two jobs for lawnstarter and they have not paid us. It was supposed to take one week for the first payment. It has been about 6 weeks now. Every time we call, they give us the run around. They always say itll be just a few more days and the money never goes in. I would also caution any prospective clients. Lawnstarter does not vet the people they send to your house. They do not check references. Anyone with a phone and a lawn mower can sign up to mow your lawn. To Lawnstarter, you can save your generic response to this post. I dont need anymore lame excuses.

I spend more time on the phone than actually providing service.Dont ever work for them this app is trash now they wont even pay me.

The fact that they charge 100% of the service fee for long grass is absolutely ridiculous.

Worst company ever they charged me $51 and my lawn was not even mowed. I complained and they offered a $15 credit. I said that is not sufficient because no service was provided so you should not charge me at all or you should have the person come and do what they actually Promised to do. Now they re trying to collect payment on something that was never done. They said that they were going to send somebody out within 48 hours to fix the issue and they never did this! I am not paying them until my grass is mowed, as promised. They sent me a nasty email saying that they wanted their payment. I said payment for what no one did anything Just stay away from this company. I ve read so many nightmare reviews about them and it s all recent that they re not honoring what they do and they re not obviously paying the lawn men that they subcontract so now their services is horrendous.

I regret to inform that my experience with Lawn Starters has been deeply unsatisfactory. Initially, we had agreed upon a bi-weekly schedule for lawn maintenance. However, without any prior notice or discussion, they unilaterally shifted to a weekly billing cycle. When I reached out to rectify this discrepancy, they were uncooperative and failed to address the issue adequately. This blatant disregard for our agreed-upon terms and refusal to rectify their mistake leaves me feeling utterly disappointed and questioning the integrity of their business practices. It is disheartening to feel misled and taken advantage of by a company I entrusted with my lawn care needs.

This company is a complete and total scam. They offer to start your services at the beginning of what they note as the start of mowing season and knowing this they charge a long grass Fee to start you off its not like a portion its completely double and I have photos of them missing a ton of spots and damaging my property. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY!!!!!

I ordered the lawn mowing service on 4/10, the first schedule was on 4/14 - 4/17, but the crew didnt show up. I reported a issue about this, and I was told the second schedule was on 4/20 or 4/21, the crew didnt show up again. 10 days passed, Im so disappointed. I have to cancel the service then looking for another service.

I am a new customer and LawnStarter Durham has missed several appointments already. I would give 0 stars if I could, this is how you treat customers?? Also when reporting a problem it takes 20+ minutes to get a hold of anyone. Update: No one has contacted me, no one has shown up, and the app has not updated. I have to keep calling and keep getting told the same thing just a few more days, just a few more days. Go with someone else.

Never showed up. Gave them three opportunities but they never proactively contacted me to respond except for an automated email asking me to wait at least a day after they were supposed to be on site (it was 4 days as of my call today). I was told that IF someone gets scheduled ti handle my service I would get an email otherwise I would need to call back to reschedule. Very poor customer service policies. However, the reps that answer the calls are very apologetic but do not offer alternate solutions. Overall, poor 1st experience so I highly recommend trying other services if available.

Avoid this company at all cost! They will quote you $19 for the first lawn mowing, then magically the fee rises to $60. Worse, you will be assessed a long grass fee. My yard was not mown completely and they had the temerity to add on the fee. Also, when you sign up youre on the hook for three lawn mowings. AVOID!

Terrible service and support. I used them for ~2.5 years, initially they were okay but were terrible by the end. Crews would claim they did service that was never done, charged long grass fees when the grass was not long, and took pictures of someone else s lawn. Support is also terrible- took many days to get a response back about issues and took several weeks to get a refund on services that were charged and never done. Not recommended.

My husband booked this service with high hopes, but they were no-call no-show 3 times in a row. He had contacted customer service the first time they no-showed and the service provider was apologetic and promised someone would come out during one of two of the following days but no one showed up either day. Seems to be a pattern per other reviews. Don t waste your time on this service provider.

Please don t use this garbage lawn service. They will say that they want to resolve the issues, but can t even keep their promises on that. I don t know it s possible to miss over 3 appointments. Crews aren t responsive either so why even bother? I can t even say I used this business because they did nothing!

Please do not use this company. First job was done well. Second job our grass was barely cut which led to it being overgrown by the next scheduled cut (which they kept delaying and not showing up for after they said they were on the way) When our grass was finally cut for the third time we were charged an overgrown grass fee for the grass they decided to wait 3 weeks to cut. The fee was 100% of the cost of the service so we paid 100 instead of 50. Staff was also rude and customer service was poor and we didn t receive a refund for anything.

Wow. Just wow. Started my third season with Mingos crew threw LawnStarter. I couldnt be happier with their flawless lawncare, efficiency, and professionalism.

The crew never show up at the data scheduled. I have tried 3x. So decided to cancel this service. Providers are not committed.

The one star reviews are real....learned the hard way. Use anyone else to mow your grass other than trying to source it through LawnStarter. They have terrible support and communication. I regret using them. They exploit customers and lawn care providers alike and bring no value to the process of matching the two due to incompetence. I had 3 different crews no-show and one that charged for lawn service that was never performed. Good luck getting a refund when the crew bills out for service but never even showed up. Customer support seeems fine until you have a problem....wouldnt recommend

Extremely professional quality work. Could not be happier. My daughter chose this company when I was in hospital but I will never change. Their attention to detail is the best Ive ever seen. For example, Nick consistently close the gate after he finishes. Not everyone does.

DO not waste your money. I have had two time slots that no one showed up and when someone did they were here all of 8 mins and did not edge, grass uneven and patchy! Will NOT use them again!

George is great. He is punctual and does a professional job. He is very responsive and always will communicate if he is running late or cant schedule due to weather or other issues.

They charged me a long grass fee even though they were didnt come to my house 5 days after the original mowing date. My normal fee is $35 and they charged me $95. Not only that, they ran over my flower bed, granted it was overrun with weeds but there was still a very distinct black border that they ran over. Joey from their customer service reached out to me and helped me fix the issue. I appreciate that he refunded me the long grass fee.

My last lawn person never edged or took care of weeds in driveway cracks unless I asked and ruined several plant pots with the weed whacker and wouldn t acknowledge it. Last year, after our lawn mower who helped us for years just disappeared without notice, I randomly got to know about Law Starter and wanted to give it a try. Well, after 1 year of service I feel to have a 3rd party handle souring and scheduling is helpful. There had been several mowers, some changed pretty transparent to me, and some had issues which I contacted Lawn Starter support which responded promptly through different channel. Also like the app which allows me to easily manage schedule in one minute.

I am finally free of LawnStarter after paying for the 3rd mow! All 3 cutters refused to meet with me during the first mow so I could tell them where NOT to cut. None ever did any edging of my front walk although that is supposed to be part of standard service. I left notes in door and wrote to Customer Support but communication to/from the mowing providers did not result in any improvement. The mowing was done neatly and no grass clippings were left stuck to the house, planters, outdoor furniture. So the people they subcontract to are competent grass cutters, just no way to effectively give instructions or ensure that front walkway edging was performed.

OMG ... someone on Thumbtack contacted me and offered a $19 service to try them. I used the service ONCE. Two weeks later I message Nick/my crew to confirm the time he was showing up. I did not hear anything so the next day I checked the app and saw a NEW crew assigned. I was very disappointed since I did not have TIME to train a new crew! Customer support told me to message the crew and tell them now to show up. I asked what happened and why the guy that mowed my lawn last time was not showing up. I called back and the next support person told me Nick had an issue with his truck. I asked him to transfer me to a manager since I wanted to know more about how this service works. He told me a supervisor would call me back. Needless to say I heard from NO ONE. I called back AGAIN and spoke with another CALL CENTER person. They told me a supervisor WOULD NOT be calling me back and that Lawnstarter WILL CHANGE MY crew with out notifying me!! :( Upon hearing that I asked to cancel my account. As a first time customer I had enough. The next day a crew showed up. OMG!!! I then called support back for the EIGHT TIME and asked them if my account was cancelled and they said NO. What the !#&*@#... I then made sure they cancelled it and I also cancelled it from the app. While I was going through ALL this HORRIBLE Customer Service, I noticed they did not charge me the $19 dollars promised. I have tall fescue, not the short southern grass, but not over 6. To my surprise I was charge $61 for a less then 1000 sq foot tiny yard :( They told me we have photos. I said forward them to me, Id like to see them. The first guy Jean told me he could not email me while on the phone but would call me back after emailing. An hour passed an dI called Customer Service back. Melissa said she would forward me the photos. I did not get them and waited with her on the phone. I gave her two different email addresses. NOTHING.... no Photos. I called my bank for a charge back. I had enough. I do not recommend this service at all!!!

This is an absolute dumpster fire of a service. I called, set up an account... it definitely was outsourced with poor communication. The agent who set me up said there was a crew and said Im set for 9/2-9/3 which is what I need. At the end of the setup call the guy says oops I put you for 9/12, call the support number they can DEFINITELY change it. This guy was just trying to lock in the membership. I call support and he informs me Theres no crew assigned to this, I cannot change it. Absolutely mind blowing.

Gerald is always reliable. I like the way my yard look, and I am no longer getting any calls or letters from my HOA anymore. I know Gerald does an awesome job every time. He tamed my wild weeded yard to a stellar looking yard that I love.

I hired LawnStarter to make sure my lawn looked great throughout the summer. Not having time to do it myself, I was more than pleased at their work. Now my weekends are spent enjoying my time off.

I tend to be an easy reviewer. However, I will have to include facts. I have a mixed response with this service. Moved to NC last year, and in the beginning there was a crew assigned to us and they did a regular service. No complaints. As the Spring came, I requested them to start earlier than anticipated. After initial communication messages through the app, where they agreed to come, eventually they did not. I waited for approx 10-12 days, and no one showed up. Then, a new crew was assigned. I messaged them, no response. 2 days later, yet another crew got assigned. By this time, I paused the service wanting to talk to customer service. And got a local person come and mow the lawn. Finally, the day after that, a yet another new person showed up, and mowed the lawn that was moved the day before. Charged more than what I was used to be charged. No response from customer service. Last 4 weeks back and forth with LawnStarter app taught me that there is no one person accountable for customer service. Its an interesting system that just assigns crew without asking or notifying customers. I would not only not recommend this, but strongly discourage from using it.

LawnStarter customer service agent set up the appointment for the weekend, but lawnmower never contacted me to say that they were not coming after the lawnmower messaged through the app sayimg he would cut my grass on Saturday. He never came Saturday nor Sunday. They may come Monday but no one has communcated that to me as of yet.I told them to cancel my service due to the lack of communication amd respect. Also the customer service agent which only sets appointments takes about 45 minutes to speak to. All the agent could do was to put in an inquiry for why the mower never came.I told her to cancel because I do not have time to wait again. My grass is getting higher. I am just being honest. I dont think this company should have any stars because they didnt do anything. There may be some happy ppl with higher ratings, but it takes one to tell the truth.

Unfortunately, this lawn service is horrible. The first lawn care provider never showed up and stopped responding to my messages through the lawnstarter app. Therefore, I attempted to contact lawnstarter four times before finally speaking to a representative. Another lawn care service was assigned, by this time its been a almost a week. He stated at 3pm itll be two hours before he can cut my grass. After two hours passed, he messaged he has to apply the long grass fee and I have to accept it before he can service my yard. The reason the grass was long is because I have been getting the runaround for over a dang week. I called lawnstarter and CANCELED my account and did not mince any words when she asked why. I do not and will not recommend Lawnstarter to anyone.

I use Lawnstarter in the Raleigh, NC area. I highly recommend Tim King, as many other crews either wont show up on time or wont show up at all. Good luck trying to get assistance from Lawnstarter customer service lol Tim is far and away the best. Hes cut my lawn since May of 2020 and has always shown up on time, done a fantastic job, and has always been friendly and courteous. He is the ONLY reason Im giving a 5 star review.

The sales representatives will call you several times to get you to sign up and promise the world. The crew didn t show up to the two day window that was agreed upon. I sent a message and received no response. I live in an HOA so I had to borrow a mower and get it done. The crew responded and said they would come Wednesday. They responded to lawn starter stating it was due to weather.. it was sunny both days. I rescheduled for two weeks away since I just did it. Now for the rescheduled service the crew never showed up. I messaged support about a refund and I have received absolutely zero response.

Great lawn care service for my Bermuda grass. Appreciate that they stick to the schedule and give plenty of advance notice if something does needs rescheduling. Easy to deal with via texts.

Please read the comments and believe this service is a no go! Support Supervisor Paul L was rude and wanted to bill me for a service that was not rendered. He was unable to get in touch with his own employee to verify if my grass was cut. This is truly and unprofessional business and Customer Service is useless. Do not waste your time or money.

All of the negative reviews in here are unfortunately true. It has a very big scam feel to us. They canceled our service on their end and told us if we restored service they would charge us a long lawn fee as a returning customer 24 hours after I spoke to someone about why no one had been out to cut our grass. Use at your own risk, but I recommend not using.

LawnStarter is very unprofessional, ethically and morally. Twice I have been charged a long grass fee for grass that was not over six inches long. Pictures clearly show that the grass does NOT meet the long grass length. The only logical reason I think I was charged, was in the hopes that I would not look at my account to see the charge, and then they could pocket the money. Please check your accounts if you use this unethical company.

Lawnstarter is a marketplace for mowing services to come by your property - they do not do the work themselves and have no ability to resolve issues when: 1. Your crew never shows up 2. Your crew never shows up AND bills you for work 3. Your crew continually reschedules until you decide youve had enough 4. Your crew DOES show up and they do 20 minutes of work before leaving and never coming back If you are looking for anything even remotely reliable - do not use one of these services. They are a middleman and you are paying them to match you with bottom of the barrel contractors to mow your lawn. If you want cheap 1-time service and dont care about quality or reliability, its probably for you. But for ANYTHING else, find someone local you can trust.

I really regret using this service. I hired them to do fall aerating and seeding because my yard was in a bad shape. They did the service and promised me health grass in the spring. During the winter and early this year I didnt see any new grass growing. Kept on messaging the service person he kept on assuring me itd be fine. Guess what? My yard is just in the bad shape as it was last year. I wasted another year. When the service person finally came and look at my yard he said hed aerate and seed again. A week went by no word from him. The professionalism and quality are so poor with this company. Avoid at all cost.

I was charged for a mow that I didnt get and not refunded. When I reached out to them to sort the problem out, then they offered to credit me half the amount charged to my credit card. I told them Id be satisfied if they would just come mow my lawn since they already charged me for it at the full amount and then they said there may be an additional charge since the grass is probably taller now. Thats enough.

I schedule services with this company. The service date was pushed back by 2-3 days due to weather (which was understandable). On the final date for services, I messaged the crew and asked for an estimated time. The crew responded back the next morning, stating they will be there at 9am (a whole day late). They never showed up so I decided to cancel my services. This company is a total waste of time.

This company does not provide the actual services listed online. They did not edge nor blow off any surfaces which is stated that comes included with lawn mowing services. My back patio was completely covered in grass. The quality was bad as well, all i could hear from inside was one man yelling at the other to hurry up and lets go. Was a rushed job and they completely missed the other half of my front yard. Will not be using this company again.

Daniel did a TERRIBLE job. I paid for a basic mowing package, including edging and blowing and he did neither. The worst part- he killed my grass. Didn t pick up the clippings and now my once green lawn is dead. If a dead lawn is what you want, I recommend them. Otherwise, take your business elsewhere!

I HAD THIS SERVICE FOR MONTHS. NEVER ONCE MISSED A PAYMENT! HOWEVER I ASKED FOR MY BUSHES TO BE TRIMMED AND CUT OFF BAMBOO TREES. THEY CUT THE BAMBOO TREES AND NOT THE BUSHES. AND LEFT THE TREES ALONG MY DRIVEWAY. I HAVE COMPLAINED FOR 3 MONTHS NOW. THEY REFUNDED MY MONEY AND SCHEDULED A DAY TO PICK UP THE TREES. OF COURSE IT WAS CANCELED BY THEM AND NEVER RESCHEDULED. I CALLED AGAIN TO COMPLAIN AND THEY TOOK $30 OFF MY GRASS BEING CUT. STILL THE TREES REMAIN ALONG MY DRIVEWAY. I CALLED AGAIN ITS 3 MONTHS AND THEY TELL ME THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I STOP PAYMENT AND FUNNY HOW I GET ALL TEXT ASKING ME TO UPDATE MY PAYMENT. I ASKED FOR A RETURN CALL WHICH I NEVER GOT. THEY CANCELED MY SERVICE. BAD BUSINESS I WOULDNT RECCOMEND THEM!!!

Attempted to cancel a lawn cutting a few days before the lawn service was scheduled. I was unable to log into my online account due to their poor software, and could NOT get a customer service rep on the phone. When the pro arrived I asked them to NOT cut my yard as I would not authorize payment, they told me they had to cut it or they would get in trouble, and cut it anyways. I was unable to get a refund from the company, everyone should stay far away from this company and book service directly with a qualified professional.

Horrendous experience. Id give a zero star if I could. Communication is poor and basically nonexistent. I was supposed to get service once every 2 weeks. It has now been one month since someone came to mow. I needed the lawn mowed over a week ago so I could aerate and seed. I had to mow myself be and put up sprinklers to water the seed. I let Lawn Starter know that the sprinklers were up and to only have a crew mow the back. They didnt send that message to anyone and when a crew finally showed up, they just left and mowed nothing. Dont waste your time and money on this terrible service.
