Agape Lawn Company in Durham

Last winter we got a quote for landscaping that included SOD. As of today our lawn is in terrible shape. When we got the initial estimate we brought up our concern about drainage, our concerns were dismissed. We went ahead with the work. Close to $10k in work including sod. We have had Agape come out and do all of the regular maintenance excluding mowing. Also as the year went on we had them come out and listen to our concerns. Each time it was you are not watering enough or too much then the summer rain came and destroyed our lawn. We are now out of close to $10k in sod and maintenance and our lawn looks terrible. Everytime we brought up a concern they said it was our fault. I will not be working with this company ever again.

Recommend! Victor Donato - Sales Manager (Hardscape/Landscape Construction Division) was great to work with in terms of scoping the job, negotiating the price, communicating during the project, and completing the punch list. He was solution oriented when we ran into any obstacles. We appreciated the hard working crew(s). The retaining wall, patio, and outdoor kitchen are great.

This company took my money & ran. They did not do the work as promised. They had terrible Customer Service. This is how they left my lawn.

Agape did great work in my yard. Jaime and Jose came to clean up the yard, remove unwanted plants/trees, define beds, and apply mulch. Jaime and Jose worked very hard all day. Jaime listened to my specific requests and was super pleasant and helpful. Jose was also pleasant and hardworking even in the intense heat. They took all of the debris and left the yard, driveway, and sideways very neat. They are obviously very knowledgeable about plants and trees.

Agape ALWAYS does an outstanding job -- today Rolando and Cuthberto installed a full truckload of mulch in our yard. We have a large amount of area without turf, so they worked unbelievably diligently putting down a huge dump truck load of shredded mulch. They were quick-working, were very precise and professional with placement of the mulch, and were very polite and friendly and worked diligently for 8 or 9 hours. At completion, the property looked really wonderful.

Great experience over with Agape. Quick intro/information taking phone call. Mike Hoy was quite fast with response timing and actually came out to the property to discuss. I was open and honest about what I wanted, and he was responsive/communicative. The labormen, Jamie and Mando were prompt, quick, skilled and always let me know what part of the project they were working on. Extremely pleasant first counter with this company.

I had lawn cleanup and mulching done on my yard. Michael was great to work with and made the process/quote easy. Ignacio and Marco did a wonderful job defining my garden beds, cleaning up my yard, and mulching. Price was very reasonable for the amount of work they did. Can t wait to use their services again!

Victor and his team are the best. My yard looks even better than I imagined. In addition to the landscaping piece they installed fire pit, seating and design and installation of tile and lighting around pool. I would highly recommend Agape services and I am sure I will use them again.

We used Agape Lawn Company to pave our pool deck with pavers, to create a rock waterfall by the pool, to put in some low voltage lighting, laid a stone pathway, and worked with us to plant a variety of plants around the pool. Chris did an amazing job leading us through the decision making process and working with us to make sure the project fit our budget. He was there at every step and was both knowledgeable and responsive. Chris patiently answered all our questions and kept the job moving forward. Daniel, Pedro, Pablo, Jose, and Erika were the crew that worked on our job and they were hard working, skillful, and very patient. The team did a great job and we are thrilled with the results. We have used Agape for several years now, and we have tried others. Theyre the best. Our team (Jose A. and Jose O.) are very skillful, professional, friendly, and fast! We asked them last week to do three extra digging jobs for us and Sam Garcia scheduled them today. They did our normal maintenance and the three extra jobs and were finished in half an hour. Someone there decided 8am on Black Friday was the perfect time to do a neighbors yard with leaf blowers. Its bad enough when that happens on weekends but a holiday weekend? As a bonus, one guy ended up blowing leaves in another persons yard. What a joke.

I recently used Agape Lawn Company for a set of wooden stairs and installation of a french drain and could not more highly recommend another company. Everyone I have interacted with has been amazing, prompt, and professional. Heather the project manager came out and performed an assessment and provided a thorough quote the following day. I was really impressed by her professionalism and knowledge of what would be appropriate and help with my water drainage issues. The crew came out over two days, and took care to protect what lawn they could and left the yard orderly even though they were coming back the next day. If you are looking to get work done, small or big, I highly recommend you reach out to Agape. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

They do our lawn maintenance and do a great job. We are getting our house ready to go on the market and I asked them to spread 16 cubic yards of mulch with about 4 days notice and they did a fantastic job. No mess. They trimmed the bushes also. The yard looks great!!! Their commitment to great service is outstanding. Cristobal and Narcizo did a great job!!! Highly recommend them.

The team from Agape (Jorge & Evodio) that did our mulch refresh this year were professional, fast, and most of all, neat. I especially appreciated that they left the street in front of the house clean.

I contacted the company about services, the lady that answered the phone sounded like she hated her job. I provided my information and she said she didn t service my area. On the website it says they service a town that is literally connected to the town I live in and yet they don t service it. I saw the reviews and thought this place would be a great option but clearly not. If you want more customer base, I would consider expanding and getting someone else to answer your phones.

We had a landscape design done a few years ago and were having trouble getting quotes on the implementation of the design from the companies we tried to contact! I found out about Agape based on the work they did for a friend of ours who lives close by. Victor Denado from Agape came by and listened to us on what we were looking for. Some minor changes were needed in the original design due to some remodeling work during the past year. Victor provided us the initial estimate and made sure that work was implemented close to the design. He is a great communicator and his experience in the area of landscaping shows. The implementation of our design after agreeing to the quote took about 2.5 days. We were worried that unseasonably cold weather (during January) when this was done would affect our plants. Victor discussed our concerns with the plant expert at Agape and assured us that we would be okay. We were really impressed by their crew who implemented the plan and Victors communication to them during the process. We would surely hire Agape for any future landscaping related needs and would highly recommend them.

Very Very Poor Customer Service. I have reached out multiple times to this company, and have gotten little to no response. We had an appointment set and had to reschedule due to a sickness in the family which i completely get. But after that ive have to reach out multiple times to get a follow up appointment and/or any updates on if they had the equipment to level out my yard after tilling. I have then messaged twice trying to speak to a manger in regards to this poor customer service and have gotten no response. Very Unprofessional.

I have used several companies over the past 10 years but Agape is by far the most professional, friendly and knowledgeable. Their communication is amazing, and you will always know when they are coming and what service will be performed (and why). I would like to specifically acknowledge Alex Wentzel, Sam Garcia and Corey Ellis. Corey came today to apply fertilizer and pre-emergent treatment and I asked him a few questions about the application. He was nothing but professional and helpful to me, and this is what you will always get with Agape. Cannot recommend them enough.

Agape knows and executes value; their reputation means everything to them and, their reputation & performance are unmatched. I m impressed with their business model, but most importantly, they keep constant contact with us/their customers. It is with great satisfaction and pleasure (and I am NOT an easy person to please w/ service-type situations) that I highly recommend Agape for any landscaping services you may be searching for. To keep things honest and fair, you get what you pay for with this company. And, it s totally worth employing them if you are seeking exceptional, crisp, healthy, curb-appealing landscaping. Today, 05/26/22, C. Ellis treated our lawn for round 4 of fertilizer. He was efficient and covered every inch diligently. It s this type of service and quality that make Agape and its employees like C. Ellis worth continuing and trusting them with all our landscaping needs. As an aside, in the Fall of 2021, Agape installed 26 trees, laid sod, did our beds, mulched, planted various plants/bushes .and it looks spectacular. We are insanely pleased :)

Every Monday morning at 7am they pull up on our block (Dowd St in Durham) and use their leaf blowers for 45mins. Wakes up the whole neighborhood. Terrible way to start the week and Im pretty sure is against the Durham noise ordinance regulations.

I am very satisfied with my Agape Lawn Service. I have a small pet that needs to stay off the lawn for two hours after application and they always make sure I am notified. As I write this review, Mario Ramirez is applying my Round 4 application for the year. I have very few weeds in my yard and the grass is nice and green.

I have just started using Agape and am extremely satisfied so far. The communication has been excellent amd timely.....from Mike Hoy, Michael Vrabel, Alex Wenzel and Sam Garcia. I have been apprised of all pending and completed services, and the initial lawn clean-up was first rate. Thus far, I am more than happy with my decision to choose them.

I have had SO many problems with my irrigation system over the past five years and many GI technicians have visited my house. Most recently, Luis provided service twice. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, informative, professional, and very easy to work with. I highly recommend GI, particularly Luis, for irrigation system needs.

Decent job cleaning my yard that was neglected by the last owner but they only had two people and a truck to clean my yard. It was not cheap to do. I expected a little more service for 3k for a .4 ac lot. I thought there would be a team for four people and the guy working on my yard didnt even know that all the leaves around the house needed to be done. The job was good but it wasnt over the top. That is why I gave 3 stars and I will try someone else next time.

Received an email recently that theyve raised pricing, which for me, was a 25% increase. They did a similar increase, though smaller, during COVID. Feels like they are capitalizing on the inflationary period we are in to justify greater profit when then the inflationary period is over. I called the Account Manager to cancel and he barely cared while cancelling my account with them. Ive been with them for 6 years. They come twice a month to manage my lawn and it takes them 20 minutes each visit. They want $400 per month. Absurd. Check pricing on all of the competition first. Agape will always be more expensive, especially now.

I generally do not write reviews but needed to share my atrocious experience with Agape. Over the course of approx. 3 years they took our yard from being one of the nicest lawns in the neighborhood to the worst lawn on the block. Here is a short list of some of the things you can look forward to with this company: - They damaged our (flagged) electronic dog fence on three occasions and did nothing to remediate. Called multiple times and never received a call back. Costed us 100s $ to fix each time. - Used the ride on mower in locations with uneven terrain and continuously scalped the grass and continued to do so until nothing would grow there again. - Continually drove the ride on mower to fast after hard rains along one side of the yard eroding the soil so now one whole section of the yard is just hard dirt. - Trimmed our hedges and knocked the gutter down spout out right before a storm. They just left it broken and the next day my entire garage flooded. - After spending 750$ to have another company lay pine straw along the border I notified Agape to be aware of the new pine straw border. They came the next day and blew it all over the place. Waste of 750$! - Never returned a phone call or tried to notify me of damage they caused OR recognized the yard was steadily looking worse year over year and try to discuss services to maintain it properly. (all damage they caused BTW) - Finally after 3 years of this the owner of the company came out said he was so sorry for their poor service and issues and he would send me a plan to fix portions of the yard. He said there would be no fee except maybe a 200$ for material. He didnt send me a quote for over a week. When I finally received it he wanted to charge me 5,000$ with 1,000$ discount for my troubles. Are you joking - 4K? So if you want to spend 12K with these guys over 3 years for Full Maintenance Yard Care just to be disappointed and have them try to squeeze a few thousand more out of you to fix your yard after they carelessly maintain it then these are your guys! Otherwise your money is better spent elsewhere.

This company is so unprofessional and terrible with communication. They will put you on the books for a certain day and just not show up or say anything until you reach out to them. Additionally, they will make up excuses that weather kept them from coming by. They were supposed to come by at least 5 different times and they never showed up. Lastly, they added a $400 charge to their initial estimate which they initially said was included in their initial $240 quote. They give black owned businesses a bad name. They wasted my time and I had to hire another professional company to come in and service my lawn last minute before it went on the market. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Michael Vrabel is very professional, he did pre-emergent and post emergent weed application this afternoon, in order to better spray effects, he removed leaves at first, my lawn looks very clean too.

Agape installed 6-foot holly trees in my backyard, for a privacy border. The trees look great! Service was quick and done right (EJ/Juan and his staff were excellent). Staff in-office and on-site were courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. Prices were quoted to me up front and everything went as expected. I definitely recommend Agape, and hope to contact them again soon for other landscaping projects. I m usually a do-it-yourself person, but wanted to try out a professional company, and Agape made this such an easy process and positive experience.

I have a 20+ year old irrigation system that needed a complete drip zone replacement in addition to a water drainage problem that was washing out my back yard. The team from Agape came in and not only replaced my drip zone but did a couple of other small fixes that were above the required work. The drainage solution looks great and appears to be working, but havent had a good down poor to fully test. Matt Yates and his team did a great job.

I have a very shady, wet back yard that was frankly a big mess. No grass would grow, old scraggly bushes and trees...and dear lord the leaves in fall are more than I can keep up with. Hence years of buildup of old leaves, lots of mud when it rains, etc. We just never used the yard for anything other than the dogs playground. In just two days, Agape completely transformed our yard into something I actually want to look at and spend time in! Gone are all the yucky bushes and Charlie Brown trees, replaced with new plants and gorgeous green sod. A new drain was installed to handle excess water, and all of the natural area was covered in pine straw. It looks fantastic! And to top it off, the guys hauled away some old stuff for me left by the previous owners that was too heavy for me, as well as my two decade old grill which no longer worked. Highly recommend...you won t be disappointed!

Brayan and Isaias did a great job in the French drain installation. They were knowledgeable and careful during digging and took ownership if they hit any unmarked underground irrigation pipe and repaired them. They completed in time and even got an irrigation specialist to come and check the installation and working of the irrigation system after the work was done.

Oct 2020 - Switched over to Agape recently and I cant be more happier. Excellent customer service, fair pricing and top quality workmanship! Unlike my previous landscaper, they take the time to address any questions/concerns and I really feel like they have a sincere interest in keeping our yard beautiful. April 2021 - Just had landscaping done by Agape and my yard looks even more beautiful. Thanks EJ and Juan for being so professional and doing amazing work! This company has really provided the personalized care that Ive been looking for. I would highly recommend them!

Agape / Greenway Irregation Durham installed an irregation system on my rocky, sloped property. Matt was patient with my questions, and organized the whole process so that it worked with my schedule. Brian and Ricardo were thorough in digging and installing with as little impact on my plants and hardscape as possible. I would us them again without hesitation.

Agape has been taking care of my lawn for about a year now. By that, I mean weed and fertilizer. I am so pleased with the results. Today Glenn was treating my yard. He rang the doorbell and actually showed me that I had 2 kinds of grass and exactly what kind of treatment did I prefer. Seriously, I couldn t believe he spent that kind of time with me! Great customer service.

On June 28th Sam came to my residence to perform an assessment. He provided a quote the very next day and the team came to perform the job promptly and professionally. They did a wonderful job cleaning out my flower beds, applying new mulch and planting new bushes. I also received a follow up call to ensure everything met my expectations. The service and professionalism was grade-A!

A special mention go out to Seth Sporkut who does the weed control on my yard. Seth works for Agape. He is proactive in his communication, provides a lot of detail by email on what work he is going to do on the day they come out for my yard work. I appreciate his attention to detail.

Gregorio & Silvia take great care our yard. It is one of the best looking yards in Brier Creek Country Club! I have had them do stonework also, and it was TOP NOTCH. Used the highest quality materials to do it also. All around, these guys are great. I highly recommend them.

We used Agape to build our patio and basically help populate our blank slate of a back yard. First, Luis and Samuel were SO EFFICIENT! I was thoroughly impressed with the amount they got done in a short period of time (not to mention in the middle of the summer). In little over a week our empty lot turned into a beautiful, lush back yard fitted with new drainage, a great patio, gorgeous stone steps, mulch beds and green grass. It was overwhelming to figure out what to do with a blank canvas, but I am very appreciative of Heather for helping guide the effort.

It is with pleasure that I write this recommendation for Greenway Irrigation after the installation of a complete, city-approved, underground irrigation system. Since purchasing my home in the Triangle 5-1/2 years ago, Greenway is the most professional, trustworthy and responsive company I have dealt with in the area. EJ and Juan installed the lighting system as part of the walkway project with Agape. They were thoughtful about where to position the lights and did great job. I highly recommend them.

I hired Agape to install drainage pipes, irrigation/sprinkler, and to aerate and seed my lawn this Fall. They were responsive, punctual, and kept to their word. When a few things fell through the cracks, they quickly made them right after I pointed them out. The quality of their work seems to be top-notch to this point. I am certainly happy I used them and would recommend them to anyone in the area. Edited: Unfortunately I have had to amend my initial review. The office staff here is great, the guys who do the work work EXTREMELY hard and are friendly, nice and courteous, but I have had issue after issue with the work that was done. I will say that they have been willing to fix most of it covered under the initial installation costs, but it has been a frustrating process. Edited again: They have really gone out of their way to make things right in every regard. Seth has been great with weed spraying and fertilizing our lawn.

Awesome job by Agapes crew. Were very pleased with the work and the cost. Brayan and Isaias were friendly, knowledgeable, and very hard workers. They finished the job early and it looks absolutely fantastic. We had major drainage problems in the front of the house they corrected, as well as trimming low branches of several trees, cleaning up multiple beds, planting new bushes around the new drainage, and adding mulch all around. What we planned as a 4 day job they completed in 3 and we could not be happier!

EJ and Juan installed new outdoor landscape lighting today they did an excellent job. Theyre work sets us up to be able to add on as our landscape design continues to evolve.

Agape transformed the barren wasteland around our new pool into a gorgeous blanket of zoysia, and resolved runoff issues caused by the poor grading performed by our pool company The guys who came out, Melvin and Ignacio, were on time, professional, and efficient. With a new construction home, we started with a blank slate yard and Agape installed phase 1 (several trees and plants) based on our design plan. This was a large project and they exceeded our expectations in every way. The quote process was transparent and painless. The trees and plants they sourced were healthy and excellent quality, and the install team was hardworking and efficient with attention to detail. Victor Donato managed the project and was a pleasure to work with. He checked in often, addressed our questions and concerns promptly, and made things right if we weren t 100% happy with something. Another standout was Seth, who treated a large area of stiltgrass and seemed genuinely happy to answer my many questions and share his knowledge. Because of the outstanding service we received, we plan to continue with Agape for future services including irrigation, lawn care, landscape/hardscape and lighting. Everyone we have dealt with there is knowledgeable and professional.

EJ & Juan did a great job of installing a dry creek in my yard where a river runs through it when it storms.

Im giving three stars to reflect the average of my experience with Agape: one star for the service provided, but five stars for the owners sincere offer to make up for it after the fact. We only needed our lawn mowed and a tree removed, but the estimate returned to us included numerous items that we didnt ask for and everything was overpriced. After correcting the mistakes in the invoice and arranging for service, they promised but failed to show up to our house on three separate occasions. Only after sending three emails and making five phone calls were we finally able to get them to come to our house and provide the service we needed. That said, the owner did contact me later to apologize for our experience (which seems to be an outlier) and fully compensate us for the charges we paid. Despite our experience, Id recommend Agape since they do seem genuinely interested in optimizing customer satisfaction and making up for mistakes when they fall short.

This is our first year having a lawn care service after 9 years in our house. I am SO pleased with the service Agape Lawn Company has provided. We are home a lot now, due to Coronavirus, and having a lawn that is green and well kept has been so important to us. Each week, the lawn is mowed and bushes are cut back, but it is the little things that I am noticing...like the stone steps to our front porch being swept and the old blooms being cut back to make room for the new, spring growth. We highly recommend Agape Lawn Company for their attention to detail and professionalism.

Mulching, and all that entailed, was done last week. A gentleman named Juan came alone (coworkers out sick), and he did a beautiful job. Just an awful experience. Virtually every week they made a new mistake. Crew turnover was too high to maintain consistency. Office staff were friendly but complaining to them didnt result in better outcomes. They made mistakes in mowing (forgot to mow the back yard one week), edging (sloppy), blowing (blew so hard pebbles from the path were blown on to the mulched berms) and aeration/reseeding (missed some areas of the lawn and accidentally seeded berm so much that months later I am still hand picking errant grass). I had some mulching done in my lawn and we were very pleased with the results. Ive had a couple companies apply mulch but for some reason it tends to be a mixed result. Simply put, they edged the areas, removed the weeds, removed the dead mulch/pine straw, blew away and cleaned the area and left it neat and tidy.

After my first month of using this service for maintenance and a special project, I am impressed their reliability and the quality of their work.

We moved to Raleigh last year and struggled to find a lawn care and landscaping company. Agape has been fantastic... super responsive, consistent in communication and their work makes a very positive impact to your home. I would highly recommend them.

Couldnt be more excited about our yard! My wife and I decided to plant trees and shrubs and have Agape do the sod. Mike worked with us on a plan that would look really good. He even answered all our questions about the plants even though their work had nothing to do with it. EJ, Jose, and Juan did a fantastic job with the sod and making edges and curves and pathway to look real sharp. EJ even cut leftovers from a stump before laying the sod. No detail forgotten. My neighbor next door is putting in a stone patio. I cant wait to see the final product in a few days.

We have an old lawn that was overrun by weeds and had bare patches of dirt. Evan Wood and his team gave us advice on preparing the ground and provided overseeding and fertilization at a very reasonable price. The grass is coming in thick and hearty, and they came back at no charge to repeat the process on a border area that didnt take. I am very pleased with the team and the result.

Edited 8/1: After posting my review, customer service reached out and they gave me a partial refund for services which improved my rating. Original review: I reached out to initiate their full lawn care package, and to get some general yard projects underway in our new home (ivy removal, bed clear out). The business is pretty responsive over phone and email, but ultimately our expectations and communications just werent in sync, despite a lot of back and forth with the company. We paid a higher rate for manual ivy removal to do so without herbicides - and ultimately we paid for a very expensive weed eating job that took the staff a few hours to complete. The ivy has almost completely grown back ...2 weeks later. After a lot of back and forth with the company, they decided not to continue working with us but did try to provide some suggested alternatives. When their lawn teams came for the regular lawn care- they provide no advance notice (just calling when theyre at the property), and would often work in poor conditions, for example, during a thunderstorm when the ground/grass is sopping wet or late in the evening (6pm). They also weed-eated fig trees and blueberry bushes that were clearly tagged/not weeds. The lawn service, in our limited experience, also does not include all the listed services on their website at each appointment-- but is rather is a very quick cut and the blowing is just to blow all the leaves/debris to the property perimeter to collect along the fenceline. They did not perform any pruning, edging, remove any weeds, remove leaves, or do anything beyond the minimum at any of the 3 visits we had. Make sure to get scopes of work very clearly defined and in writing on the invoices. We also had someone attempt to spray our yard without permission or notice several weeks after they terminated our services- despite us being an -herbicide free client due to a software glitch .

Jeff was very pleasant to speak with and his rates are very reasonable. He answered my initial text promptly and did exactly what I wanted and expected. My yard was a mess because we had just purchased a home that the yard had not been maintained. He mowed, weeded, and used his blower to clean up all of the grass clippings. He also sprayed all of the undergrowth in thenthe areas so that it will be nice and neat. Im really glad we hired him. Thanks Jeff!

I am revising my review after 9 months of service. I have less grass than at the beginning of the business relationship. My yard is ravaged by the low cutting of the grass and the chemicals that were used.The final straw is that no one showed up for two weeks, and this made a total of 5 weeks missed weeks over the course of 6 months. They continued to bill me even though no one showed up. I constantly had to email pictures because of the lack of service and poor quality. If I could attach pictures, then I would.

Gregorio and Alston came to my home to put out pine straw and trim some large Holly trees down the side of my property. They did a very detailed job. The trees were pruned better than anyone has ever done in the last 5 years theyve been in the yard. Great employees AGAPE.

Mike and his team did a great job with overhauling our backyard (amending the soil/adding topsoil, seeding, laying a flagstone pathway and improving drainage)! From the get-go, Mike was easy to get in touch with and very responsive. Due to inclement weather, our project was pushed back a little bit, but the instillation team, led by Juan, were able to get the job in one day, which was faster than anticipated - they worked diligently and stayed late and were great communicators. Would use again!

My wife and I recently had a wonderful experience working with Mike Hoy and his team (lead by Juan) with some drainage upgrades and landscaping / hardscaping at our home. We were able to turn the side of our house, which had previously been a poorly drained muddy area, into a lovely mulched walkway with stepping stones. Underneath it, the Agape team connected our two gutters which drained into the area and piped them out the back of our property. Juan made a suggestion on the day of the job to drain out the back rather than the front, and included a hookup for my neighbors gutter (which had previously drained onto our property). The result was much better than I had hoped for, helping substantially reduce further erosion / muddiness in this area. Wonderful working with Agape! It definitely wont be the last time.

Agape Lawn Company renovated my front yard and did a wonderful job. The crew leader Juan was excellent. They worked steady from stat rt to finish, and the finished product is excellent! I would hire them again if I have another landscaping project.

We used Agape Lawn Company for installation of french drains in our backyard to help with drainage issues. Also had sod installed and large mulch flower bed with stone walkway incorporated into the overall project. We couldnt be more pleased with the outcome! Juan and Jose did a FANTATSTIC job and worked diligently for 3 days to complete the entire project. Juan was very responsive to changes that we wanted to incorporate mid project and we are so happy with overall final outcome. We have already had neighbors come by to ask who did the work, and we will happily pass along Agapes information! We had a significant amount of work done (drains installed, downspout drains extended, new sod, new large flower bed with stone paver walkway installed, TONS of plants added) and the price for the project was very reasonable as well. We met with Mike early on, when deciding on landscaping company to use for our project, and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable with suggestions to remedy our drainage issues. I had another lawn service and was seeing gradual deterioration of my lawn, but one year w Agape and it is really turning around. Very responsive and great results.

We signed up for the complete yard maintenance package this summer and have been disappointed. The team has not mowed or done leaf clean up in a timely fashion, thus our yard has not looked great most of the fall. It took several phone calls/emails for us to get the bushes trimmed. Emails and calls are answered promptly but this not translate to actual work being done. We asked them to do another small project outside of the lawn maintenance package and the cost was expensive, then only half was completed because of a communication issue. Most of our neighbors have better maintained yards and their service teams charge less. Do not recommend their services for yard maintenance or smaller projects.

We were totally satisfied with the work that Agape Lawn Company provided for our yard, which included the removal of considerable English Ivy, dead undergrowth, installation of pine straw, planting a recommended maple tree, and moving a number of existing plants from one area of our yard to another. The two workers, Melvin and Juan, were incredibly hard workers and check with us frequently during the day to ask how everything looked, if they had missed anything, and if there was something additional that needed to be done. The work was done as promised on the dates given to us and was completed in less time than initially contemplated. When the work was finished, our yard had a very professionally done appearance. This week we experienced our first winter preparation yard maintenance since hiring Agape. All the bushes and plants were neatly and carefully cut back and trimmed, and every bit of the debris was gathered up and removed. Our team, Javier and Eusebio, were especially careful and thorough. I highly recommend Agape Lawn Company.

The main service was pruning a crape myrtle. They had done this previously 2 years ago. Before just trimming away they checked to see how low I wanted it. They pointed out where it had been done before and let me make an informed decision. They also added new mulch around my trees and the front of the house. They trimmed some of the bushes in the front so it wasnt overhanging onto the porch (this was without prompting). After everything was done not only did they clean up the tree trimmings, but they also gathered up all of the leaves and cleaned that up too. They had to delay doing the work a day because of the weather but I was informed early in the morning. They showed up in the afternoon the next day.

I used to do my own lawn/yard....I finally pulled the trigger to hire agape. Love it so much....full service....timely...curious....knows what they are doing. So happy I pulled the trigger....saving me tons of time

Agape has done a fantastic job so far. Salomo and Francisco are extremely attentive, friendly, and hard working when it comes to all of our lawn maintenance needs. Weve also been working with their Landscape Architect Bill on making some changes to our patio, hes probably one of the most detail oriented and creative people Ive worked with on any project related to my house. My wife and I are both very happy we made the switch from a different company, I just wish we had done it sooner.

I recently had landscaping done work with stone and new edging. EJ and Juan were here all day in the cold weather. They did a great job and made sure I was happy with it before they left. It makes me want to do more yard improvement! Also, the company is hired to do my weekly maintenance and mulching etc. which I had always done on my own and wish I had done it sooner. We recently had a pool installed and this team came in and graded around the pool, laid new sod, and installed a french drain with river rock for the steep slope on the side of the house. We hired Agape to install landscape stairs from our driveway to our back yard. The stairs turned out wonderfully. Agapes team finished the project on time and under budget. They paid attention to the details, too: they reseeded the grass around the project, and they installed a drainage pipe to divert water away from the stairs. We would absolutely hire them again.

We have a challenging lawn. I had gone through three separate landscapers (with mixed results) before calling Agape. I wish I had started there first. Agape not only managed to convert our ski-slope backyard into the envy of our neighborhood, but their professionalism and courtesy are above and beyond what wed come to expect from landscaping and lawn companies. Agape has now done two installations for us, and weve hired them to provide total maintenance for our lawn and landscaping. I couldnt be happier with the results. Everyone at Agape is first-rate and genuinely kind and caring. These folks are a hidden gem in the Triangle.

They do an excellent job of maintaining landscaping and lawn at a reasonable price. Very dependable. Last week had 4 large bushes die which I dug up. Agape included shrub and tree trimming in their monthly charge and they hauled these bushes away as a courtesy. I did not have to rent a trailer or take the time to haul away.

I have been happy with the irrigation system I received. It is state of the art. The system uses much less water than other systems I have owned. Agape did a great job with the installation. We have been very please so far. We also had then seed for us. Will keep you updated on the progress.

I found Agape to be an extremely professional company. They are excellent communicators and eager to provide you with top notch service. I found each and every person I communicated with pleasant, willing to listen and prepared to do the best job possible.

Agape made duplicate charges from our checking account and told us it was our problem to deal with through our bank. It took several months of dealing with claim services and hours of our time to rectify. We were also dissatisfied with their work.

I cant really say much about the actual service because I never got a quote. Tech came on a Friday to quote out an irrigation system. He seemed knowledgeable and said hed get the quote to me quickly. I confirmed my contact with him. Wednesday the next week I called because I hadnt received a quote. I was passed over to a lady who said shed look into it and get back to me shortly. That happened 2 more times, including one by the manager or owner (someone higher up) who said theyd call the tech and get back to me 15 minutes later. Four days later and still nothing. If they cant manage to provide a quote and keep other promises, maybe I should be glad theyre not doing my work.

I was able to get work done ie mature buses planted for about $1000 less than Agape. I also saved $200 on mulch. I had to cut back my own lantana which unlike the company we had before pulled out all perennial flowers. I feel we get better service on lawn care but everything else is more expensive. The company has grown since we used them years ago and I think they are better. So far I m happy. We just changed to this company again in September 1.

We moved here recently and went from having no lawn to a large one. It was fortuitous that we were referred to Agape as they have transformed our yard. We worked with Michael Hoy on an overall plan. First an irrigation system was installed. Then we had them replace the old lawn with fescue grass. Neighbors walking by told us their five-year-old said, Mommy/Daddy, can we have grass like this yard? What a compliment and kind of says it all. The weekly visits by their crew really keep things spruced up and looking sharp. Can t recommend them enough.

I d had erosion problems in my yard since moving in 4 years ago. We live halfway down a significantly sized hill, and though there were some visible attempts made in the past to address the effects it was easy to see they had failed. My next door neighbor had hired Agape to build a retaining wall and fire pit the year before, and the work looked great. So I decided to hire them to tackle our project, and I m so glad I did. Bill came over and was really easy to talk to. He designed a plan to give us the yard I doubted was possible. Bill introduced me to his crew, led by Louis, who expertly dug and buried drain lines and basins, and then built a beautiful retaining wall. All work was completed on time, and with respect to our property. I couldn t be happier.

Let me first say that I am extraordinarily picky and a bit OCD. Bill Matheson headed this team with Louis and Samuel doing the day-to-day work. I have Nest cameras in the front and back of my house so I was able to watch these guys as they worked. What I noticed is that they took great care with this project, and were as precise as I would have been if I had been building it. And Louis is an artist. There were times when they would lay a small pattern but he would take it up and re-do it because it was better the second time. Care is the word that characterized this project from start to finish. The back gate that they had to take off previously was hard to close since the hinge had sagged over the years. When they put the door back on they fixed that as well, at no additional charge, and now it latches as smooth as butter. They didnt do that because I asked them to, they did it because they care about the quality of the project and making the client extraordinarily happy, which they have accomplished. Bill had chosen the type of paver he thought I would like and would be consistent with the property, and I went to the stone company to take a look at the stone before finalizing. His recommendation was spot on, and the pavers are just stunning. The two patios they built are very, very pretty and the work is perfect. The pavers, the lines, the angles, the pattern -- I am SO happy with the work these guys did. If you are looking for a company that cares as much about your project as you do, start with Agape. You wont be disappointed.

First, Ive heard Agape does wonderful work with landscaping, hardscaping, lawn maintenance, drainage work etc...I find it very sad I cant even get the admin staff to schedule us for on-site estimate of the work wed like done on our property. Ive contacted Agape 3 times via phone and email in the past week or longer and was always promised whomever does the scheduling would get back in touch with me to set something up. It never happened. What a shame a potential client would be treated this way. Perhaps this is a blessing and a sign to go elsewhere. Ive never used a public forum before, but since I cant seem to ever get a response, maybe this will be brought to someones attention in the company to address these issues so Agape wont lose other future clients. Prior to selling our house we needed to have our flower beds, shrubs, and lawn cleaned up and made presentable. We contacted Agape and explained that we were under very tight time constraints. Excellent experience with Agape. We hired them to install patio and sidewalk hardscape and some shrubs. Installation team was experienced, professional, and obviously they take pride in their work. Everything they delivered is flawless and looks great. Will also use Agape for irrigation and sod installation.

The work they do is great however reliability seems spotty. The monthly maintenance agreement that we have states that they should be coming out on a weekly schedule (during spring and summer months), however this doesnt always happen. Despite this they are very responsive with or concerns so hopefully this too will be rectified since we pay for monthly services on time.

Oscar Olalde performed the startup of my irrigation system. Oscar is a skilled irrigation technician. He replace the controller (which I knew was not always operating correctly) and a bad solenoid valve that was causing some of my sprinkler heads to leak. We had a leak in our irrigation system, so called Agape Company to come out and fix it. (the actual company that performed the work was Greenway Irrigation, which appears to be one of their subsidiaries). As you read this review, bare in mind they charge by the hour. The first technician comes out and spends 3 hours to assess the situation. Turns out, my backflow wasn t completely turned on, and once he turned the valve completely the leak stopped. 3 hours to find that problem! But then we had another leak as soon as he left. A different technician comes out few days later, having no clue what the problem is, and tells us he need to reassess the situation. We obviously raise a concern. So he finally speaks with the owner, Brent Droege, speaks to the first technician, and fixes the problem in half an hour. He tells me the irrigation pipe was clogged with mulch and trash and that once he cleared that everything worked fine. Then he adds, and I quote I don t know why the Oscar (first technician) spent that much time . Hmm that is not something you want to hear from a technician of SAME company. He spends another hour and a half or so making sure there is no more problem, which I understand. Then he finally tells us, everything is good to go and that all problems are fixed. Few days later, we see the first technician working again on our lawn, completely unannounced. We ask him, what is going on? And he tells us there are couple more leaks. At this time, I really started getting frustrated. He calls the owner, and while he is talking to him, I ask to talk to him directly. Brent refused to talk to us, because he was too busy . WHILE on the phone with his technician! So I tell the technician to stop all work and leave. Then I proceed to write him an email explaining the situation, and asking for an explanation. The following are some of the quotes from my email exchanges with Brent: We do have a little bit of a language barrier that we are trying to work through (as my guys are not native english speakers and I assume your family is not as well) whether we are native speaker or not, how is this relevant??? All I know is the system is fixed at about 50% less then budget, and on time. I dont see what the issue is. His technician told us he doesn t understand why it took the first technician so long to figure out the problem! Wouldn t everyone question the validity of the quote at this point? Very easy over quote and later tell someone we came under budget. But is that the right thing to do? You guys starting having a panic attack as soon as I sent a different tech over the first time. no we raised concern when the second technician told us he need to reassess the situation because he doesn t know what is going on, and you guys are charging by the hour! I do not believe your version of the story, no I mean you are to believe what you want to believe but if you think your customer spends time to write multiple emails raising concerns and you completely dismiss them, that is quite a customer service! All I will say is that if you guys had just stayed inside and let us do our job, your system would be working 100% right now so we hire you and pay you, but we should just shut our mouth, close our eyes and pay you whatever you charge me And honestly, we do 7.5M a year in revenue, so Im not even this focused on this discussion I never asked and I honestly don t care. The only thing I care is the job I hired you guys to do for me, and how rude and insulting you are to us. Do you want us to come finish off everything or not? I will cap the final repair to $100 and I can get it done today At this point, do you really think I want you guys to continue working in my lawn??? Needless to say, they will NOT finish work at my place. And I will note that I did pay the bills, because (1) I do not want to be associated with this company anymore then I already have, and (2) so that they cannot discredit my story saying we just don t want to pay the bill.

I had the pleasure of using Agape for a small retaining wall project. Their team was quick to respond to the request for a quote and extremely helpful during the initial process of discussing options. Once started, there were some minor concerns with the look of the project. After reaching out to the representative, Tommy arrived first thing the next morning, reviewed the progress, walked me through the options, and had the issues corrected in a timely and professional manner. The end result was FANTASTIC. I would definitely recommend them to friends and will plan on using them again and again.

I had my initial meeting with Mike Hoy and he was professional, very knowledgeable and gregarious. We walked my property and he listened to my needs along with offering suggestions. He did a great job of informing me about Agapes services allowing me to choose how I wanted to proceed versus simply trying to get me into a contract. I look forward to working with the Agape team in the future especially if everyone is like Mike.

Finding a usable flat yard in Raleigh can be challenging. So thankful for Agape who helped our flat yard dreams come true. With nearly 7 slope in our backyard I knew our project would be challenging. Not only did Tommy & the engineer come out and do a thorough estimate and design, but the final invoice came close to the estimate number when we were done. We needed two 4 tall retaining walls and added a fire pit. Mario, the lead installer was professional, courteous and insanely thorough. He is very particular in installation and never cut corners. If the project slowed down he would inform me daily and let me know why. He always had quality as his focus and you could see that in his work. So pleased that they could take our dream house and help transform the entire property into the perfect fit for our family. We can t get enough of our new backyard and patio!

We chose Agape after talking to several landscaping companies. Agape was very honest, gave good advice and worked with our needs and budget. The quote was itemized and transparent, giving us options to save on items if we wanted. The crew was amazing, worked diligently and professionally on the job despite the rainy weather. These people run a great operation. I had some yard clearing and flower beds put in. They were quick and courteous with setting up an onsite evaluation. Mike was very knowledgeable and gave us a plan that met our budget and exceeded our expectations. Then, when the crew came to perform the work, they went above and beyond to ensure that the job was done right. Very friendly and competent staff at every encounter. I will use Agape for any future yard services and I recommend you do the same!

We hired Agape Lawn Company to provide complete lawn and garden work at our Chapel Hill home. Agape installed our irrigation system, designed and installed our landscaping, and now they maintain our lawn and garden. Each phase of the work was performed on time and with excellent results. The owners and employees of Agape are professional, courteous and truly care about providing excellent results. Quoted price seemed high for backyard only, but promised quality seed and work and they confirmed for backyard only as per my request. 1/2 payment was required and paid before scheduling. They did not come on scheduled day, understandably because of rain, but did not notify us or reschedule. They came the next day without notifying us. They were aerating, fertilizing and about to seed our front Bermuda grass yard with Fescue seed before we stopped them. He said the order was for whole yard and even though he saw we had Bermuda grass in front, he didnt question it before starting. They brought hay but none was laid down over seeds so much of the seed was eaten by birds, etc and washed away by heavy rain. Afterwards, I found that my debit card info was used again to automatically bill my account for the FULL amount instead of the balance of half pay. I contacted them and the office denied having record of payment of the half up front payment, even though their policy is to not schedule until payment is made. To get my refund, (by check!), they insisted I send a copy of my bank statement. I finally received a check in the mail for the overcharge. We will never use them again.

My experience with Agape has been exceptional. From management to the onsite crews, the service has been professional, efficient, and top quality. I highly recommend Agape for lawn maintenance and landscaping.

We purchased our home a year ago and put in a new deck. This put it right up against a steep hillside overgrown with weeds, trees and ivy. We had been looking for a contractor and spoke with several. Tommy from Agape Lawn was the only one who discussed all the things that needed to be done from clearing the hillside, to irrigation, to the wall. He provided us a plan that included all of these that met our budget and then we were able to comfortably increase our budget to match our real needs. From the day they arrived I was impressed with their staff and their desire to do the job right, despite find the clay in the hillside to be some of the toughest digging they had encountered. He kept in touch about our concerns, among them sprinklers damaged during the work. What we got was a professional built and attractive wall, a cleared and much more maintainable hillside, a fully repaired and functioning irrigation system, grading and seeding of the work area, and a real sense of pride in the immediate impact on the value of our back yard experience and its value. The crew they used was friendly throughout the process, on time, and were actively working all through the project. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a professional job that was worth the cost.

Of the 3 yard services I contacted, Agape was by far the most professional. They actually did as I asked with an estimate. Others did not seem interested in doing the job. Landscapers were super nice and did a great job!

Have nothing but great things to say about Agape. Have used them several this year (installation of an irrigation system as well as a paver patio extension for a new spa we added) and their work is top notch. Every member of their team was incredibly professional, courteous, and attentive to all aspects of the job. Prompt, knowledgable, and delivered exceptional quality for both projects. They came highly recommended and I can understand why. Really glad we found them and will not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Agape showed up 7 hrs late with an inexperienced crew and inadequate equipment. One of the owners came by afterward and acknowledged the mishaps but offered no compensation. He seemed to think that the company being busy was excuse enough for poor workmanship. I will never hire them again and do not recommend them

Will and the rest of the crew did an amazing job on my small backyard. We were looking to make more usable patio space from an area in our lawn where grass was never growing. They came by, provided great design ideas and suggestions and worked very hard to get everything completed in one week! They even installed some french drains under the patio to help with the water drainage which wasnt even in the original quote! I would definitely recommend these guys for any future landscaping needs.

Agape Lawn Company just mulched and weeded out entire preschool playground. Their staff were kind, hardworking, and even helped out with some labor that wasnt anticipated in at the last minute. I was more than satisfied with their work and would most definitely use them again.

Great experience, they came out and have a free estimate for what we had in mind and their very knowledgeable staff offered further suggestions based on our general ideas. Very punctual and professional. Initially hired to help remove some bushes and trim up, plan on doing additional work with them as we replant.

This company provided services to a nonprofit agency. The employee was unprofessional, rude, and sarcastic.

Brent is the kind of business owner we should all try to emulate. He treated me fairly and honestly and I couldnt give him a better review. If there was a 6 star rating, hed have it from me.
