Midwest Landscaping Design & Tree Service did a fantastic job for us. The place was overgrown and out of control. It looks wonderful now. They cleared away shrubs weeded and trimmed trees and shrubs. We will be able to enjoy our front and backyard this summer. They were a pleasure to deal with and everything was done in less than a week from the first phone call. Highly recommend. I have added before and after photos.

Recently hired Midwest Landscaping Design & Trees to reset the pavers on my 20 yr old patio and replace a staircase and could not happier with the results. The team was great, worked quickly, and my backyard was spotless when they finished and my patio looks like new. Great work at a reasonable price and I highly recommend them.

PSA: do not trust this guy! I wish I would have seen the reviews on here before I hired Pat to repair my paver stone driveway in September 2023. Unfortunately I was urged to look at their BBB reviews, which was A+. I am filing a complaint with them to reflect my experience. There were large gaps between the pavers at the end of my driveway causing them to shift and I was concerned that the winter weather would exasperate the issue. When Pat got here, he convinced me to do additional work in other areas of the driveway. I don't know anything about these things and believed his "professional opinion." On the next visit, Pat said I should remove a shrub and cut back some trees and shrubs around my property. Which I said I'd think about. I asked for a quote and never got one, instead he started working the next day. A mature birch tree and an evergreen shrub was cut down to a stump, while I wasn't home. This appears to be part of his MO - as he added many things to the "verbal contract" every chance he got, doubling the contract price without providing any paperwork or receiving any signed approvals. Then when it came to payment he REQUIRED CASH. Idiotically, I acquiesced. Now I'm out of luck. Pat seems like quite a friendly guy really enthusiastic to help you get your project completed, however is unable to perform and when confronted turns vicious. I am a small Asian woman and when questioning the quality of work he got visibly frustrated and, in front of my 8 year old, shouted that "[he] should have known better than to deal with a....", at which point I asked him to leave my property. Now seven months later, hoping his emotions would have tempered, I reached out with a video asking his help to remedy the poor quality of work and he refused because he “did a great job.” The "great job" he did leaves my driveway looking aesthetically worse than when he started, and my pavers are still shifting - wish I could add a video. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

Midwest Landscaping completed some patio work, reworked our dry creek bed and some other landscaping in our back yard.  Pat came out a couple of times to review our project—even on a Sunday. He is super knowledgeable and knew what was needed to complete what we wanted within budget. We were kept up to date during the project and checked with us before making any significant decisions.  We are so happy we had this work done.  Highly recommended.

Midwest Landscaping did a wonderful job for us! They removed an old 30+ year deck and designed and built us a beautiful patio. They worked very long days, 7 days a week and completed the project in just 7 days. We will definitely call them for future projects!

Pat and his family did great work on our yard at a very reasonable price! We had multiple trees removed and he worked with us to create some better ideas for using space and cleaning up the yard. His team removed a lot of underbrush and created a flagstone path by the side of our house (before and after pictures attached) and also mulched multiple areas for us. Great work, very friendly and would definitely recommend!

Great work from Pat and his crew. They totally transformed my front yard. I gave him the basics of what I wanted done, but gave him a lot of latitude with the specifics and he came up with a great plan.

This is the 6th year I have used Midwest Landscaping for my annual maintenance and special projects. They are very responsive and timely. From the time I call to the time the work is done, typically not more than 24 hours have passed. They are very professional and have great recommendations on how to enhance and improve our overall landscaping. I will continue to use them and would highly recommend them for those that have professional landscaping needs.

Last year Midwest Landscaping (Pat) stopped by our house and offered a few suggestions on what we could do to improve the landscaping in the front. We agreed with the ideas and called Pat this Spring. He is very easy to work with and with his sons did a fantastic job. Pat even came by a week later to make sure everything looked okay. We will definitely call Midwest Landscaping again.

We received a mailer advertising spring cleanup and yard services for this company. I contacted them strictly because we got their flier, and said we wanted spring cleaning & mulch installation. (I checked their website too for pics.) We set a date/time for someone to give us a quote. A man came, about an hour later than we scheduled, and walked around, and said This isnt worth it. We are designers. Huh. Thats great, but thats not what the flier in the mail promoted. We have a LARGE yard with lots of landscaping. We installed a new deck last year, and so all the ground around it is all torn up, which I showed him. Strangely, he didnt say, But lets talk about designing your deck surround. It was brief, and strange, and he couldnt get away quick enough. A waste of my time. I couldnt even follow-up with any questions, he was hopping in his truck so fast. Its possible they do great work; they didnt want to work with me though.

I live in a heavily wooded area and I knew my front yard was dramatically overgrown. We called Pat mostly for a consult but was quickly impressed with his vision for the yard. With the exception of two bushes, Pat was able to create a masterpiece in the front of the house using mostly plants we already had on the property and just opening things up. Its completely transformed. Im not going to say it didnt look like hard work but the end result was nothing short of magical. Were so happy we called Midwest and Pat and would highly recommend them to anyone whos looking for a honest, hardworking landscaper who understands your needs and works with you to achieve the beautiful landscape you desire

A big thumbs up to Midwest Landscaping for their exceptional work on our recent landscaping project. They provided a comprehensive turnkey service, including design ideas, plant selection, and labor for both the planting and hardscape (pavers). What impressed us the most was their clever approach to utilizing existing plants and beds, showing their expertise and respect for the landscape. Pat, the owner, along with his sons, did an amazing job. From promptly responding to our initial inquiry to delivering on-time and on-budget, Midwest Landscaping proved to be a reliable and skilled family service. I highly recommend Midwest Landscaping for your project -hire these guys!

We used Pat and his team for concrete patio/walkway removal and re-pouring, tree/shrub trimming, edging and mulch replacement. We found Pat to be incredibly responsive (job was completed in 3 days), competitive on price, honest and he genuinely cared about the work his team was doing to ensure we were happy upon completion. Pat was always around and available during the project to answer any questions we had. His team is incredibly hard-working - I cant say enough good things about their work ethic - his sons and Santiago and his team worked tirelessly and we were very impressed with the end result. Pats work was well worth the price - not only in terms of our ultimate satisfaction, but also our home looks more valuable ;). I recommend Pat and his team highly and will continue to use him for future projects.

This landscaping company just stomped through my neighborhood putting flyers on doorknobs; The man they hired just STOMPED THROUGH my retaining wall flower bed on his way to the next house. Are you KIDDING ME?!! [Update: in response to the owners reply] I am loathe to comment further, but I am not Rachel, I do not know any Rachel and Ive had no phone or verbal communication with the owner or anyone in their business whatsoever, nor do I ever care to. Whoever Rachel is, her actions are separate from mine...but according to the comment, she sounded rather upset. It seems clear that Im not the only one who was disturbed on the very same day. Enough said. Emotions aside, I witnessed (but also on camera) two employees walking straight through our neighbors retaining wall/landscaping and yards as a short-cut to distribute company flyers on their doors. Then, one crossed directly across the street, cutting through my yard (not using sidewalks, paved walk paths, or driveways) straight to my door, and then stepping into the mud and THROUGH my own retaining wall/sprouting spring flower bed (!) and then through my yard. So my neighbors grass weeds / pollen are now mixed into mine, and the flowers (Thanks...? How is that acceptable to you as landscapers? The irony here is off the charts. Theres a real conversation starter for you.) That is completely disrespectful as it is destructive - and yes, unprofessional - and therefore I am perfectly fine with leaving this legitimate negative review. The only other regrets are for my lost and wasted time, emotion, and realization that a one star review seems to have been one star too many - the waste of a perfectly good star. PS: I also found it rather interesting how brand new favorable 5 star reviews suddenly emerged simultaneously, just a couple hours after my negative feedback was placed here (the very same evening, maybe just another coincidence.) These are just random observations - but perhaps we have found a point of agreement: Anyone can post whatever they want on social media. That includes my very fair and substantiated review of (mis)conduct. Dont like it? Make some real positive changes and train your employees to observe local ordinances with common decency. Show some respect! That responsibility rests with your business and your employees -- not me, or Rachel, or our neighbors.

We selected MIDWEST LANDSCAPING in 2015 due to their membership in Better Business Bureau and Customer Satisfaction Guarantee on their website. The work from 2015 went well but our latest project in April 2019 was a nightmare. We paid Midwest Landscaping for the following: 1. Remove pea gravel used as a ground cover for an old Rainbow System Climbing Unit; 2. Plant a Red Bud Tree in an area that was previously from an old tree removed in late summer the previous year. 3. Install a dry creek bed using Kabul Stones and River Rocks to help resolve our water drainage problem. Add 6 new Dogwood Bushes to match the existing bushes they planted in 2015. 4. Regrade and reseed our yard. Midwest Landscaping completed their work in one day but never called J.U.L.I.E. Midwest Landscaping actually did the following: 1. Covered the existing pea gravel with dirt then reseeded our yard. 2. Planted a Red Bud Bush, rather than the Red Bud Tree, which died back in June 2019. 3. The Cry Creek Bed was a Bed with Rocks and bushes which we clearly stated via text that we did not want a bed of rocks and bushes, We agreed upon 6 Dogwood Bushes but they only planted 5 instead. The President of Midwest Landscaping did return to plant the 6th but this did not match the existing 9 dogwood trees. Midwest Landscaping President clearly stated via text message the Dry Creek bed would be similar to the picture of a sample dry creek bed he sent us but would use Kabul Stones and River Rocks. They used PEA GRAVEL and Kabul Stones not River Rock. We never stated we wanted pea gravel in that area. Complicating this situation: once Midwest Landscaping stated their work was considered completed and a few days after I filed a complaint with the BBB.org, the President of Midwest Landscaping and his wife appeared while I was gone and proceeded to vandalize our yard by digging up the established hydrangeas tree from our back yard and replant it in the center of our front yard in shade, in clay and in alignment with our front door. They verbally abused Meghan, a local landscaper helping me weed garden bed and plant new perennials, causing such a commotion that my neighbors called 911. Once I returned home to speak with the responding police officer, I discovered they had shown this police officer a fabricated an email to justify their actions - a complete misrepresentation of the situation. If Meghan was not present and my neighbors did not call 911, we would have returned home to this tree in the center of our yard without any proof or knowledge to who did this to our yard. It is also worth noting that once again the President of Midwest Landscaping broke Illinois State Law requiring all contractors or people digging in our yard must call J.U.L.I.E. before the work begins. Although we followed BBB.orgs recommendations and used a member of BBB who also had a Customer Service Guarantee on their website, we are left with a mucky muddy mess in our backyard. The Village Public Works came out to evaluate the water drainage problems within our immediate neighborhood - the work completed by Midwest Landscaping to help resolve our water drainage problem must be completely redone. We have a dead bush and a large area of our yard that must have the pea gravel bed now buried removed before we can plant anything further. We are now stuck with more pea gravel to remove and removing 6 dogwood bushes that were planted without calling J.U.L.I.E.. Since this area is the Northwest corner of our yard, we called JULIE to determine the extent of the damage only to discover several utility lines are buried within those 6 new Dogwood Bushes. Looking for a new Landscaper to help fix our yard has been challenging since most do not want to accept responsibility cleaning up a mess intertwined with utility lines. Unfortunately, we have been unable to amend our complaint through the BBB Chicago Regional Office and are facing a total loss over $6,800 on this project with Midwest Landscaping, they are still member of BBB and retain their A+ Rating.

Very upset! A older gentleman was significantly taken advantage of by this company. They charged $1,200 to clean gutters and trim bushes on a 2,000 square foot ranch home. Called to address my concerns and there was no acknowledgement of wrong doing. Keep an eye out for this company and their pushy ways!
