Excellent Landscape and Yard Service in Denver

I was a random worker from Craigslist and yes there where others and some from Home Depot. The one thing I can say is this I would not recommend this company for many reasons. As a laborer I didn't get paid it shouldn't take three days to get $60. What concerns me the guy driving around without license plates on his vehicle the plates on the trailer is not registered to Shawn. The jobs I did do he had me cut alot of corners to cut time and ripped people off. I don't mind working with people as long as they are legal I will call it like I saw it people homes hve been put at risk. No laborer should not have to wait with excuses not to get paid. I stay in my lane and will not wrk for people like Shawn people don't need to hear excuses they get paid once your caught up get license plates for your vehicle your driving illegally. I'm ashamed of myself for trusting a guy like this. I don't need to lie to be me I know my lane an I be damed to hve my nme my wrk associated with this guy and so called company we all got to start some where but not with guy or company he claims. Any company hires people without doing a background check is not for me. Should you choose this so called company make sure every thing is legit. Pay attention to detail as you are paying for it the wrk he claims supposed to be an investment not a con job or a job done half ass by people who don't know what they are doing. I gain nothing about lieing about what I saw from this so called company and Shawn

Shawn and his team did an excellent job of cleaning out the front yard of our rental house. Shawn is responsive, fast, and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend Excellent Landscape and Yard Service for any of your landscaping needs! Thank you!

Shawn and his team were fast, efficient and friendly. Shawn was very easy to communicate with and im very thankful they were able to help take care of my yard so quickly.

DO NOT USE!!! I’m begging anyone who reads this to please save your time and misery and do not use this company. The owner Sean is not an actual landscaper. He tried to start his own business with absolutely no knowledge of irrigation installation or sod placement. He does not have a true crew of landscapers either. He hired new random temp laborers each day and you will get awful quality from his services. Initially when I got a quote for irrigation, rock, sod, and plants, he took absolutely no notes or measurements leading to a ridiculous quote. Once I decided what I wanted him to do it was a nightmare from there. He was supposed to grade my yard and prep it for sod and install a simple irrigation system. Once we laid the sod it was nothing short of an off road rally track with humps and dips everywhere. My yard holds ponds of water everywhere. He also did not compact the trenches from all the irrigation lines leading to sink holes all over the yard. He came back to fix these trenches and instead of pulling back the sod to re-compact the dirt he ripped up all the new sod and replaced it with dead sod. Now I have strips and patches of dead sod all over my yard. After he tested the sprinkler system I later discovered a large leak he seemed to overlook. He did come back to fix that. Also after testing the system the drip lines would not shut off. He came back to replace valve and said it was fixed and I then discovered later that day it was not fixed. At that point I No longer wanted him touching my yard and I hired a new landscaper to fix my irrigation system and fix all the sod. Everything he touched seemed to get worse. Please please save your money and don’t waste it on this company. Every positive review you see on this company has to do with him doing a good job cleaning yards. They are a labor company not a landscape company. UPDATE in response to his illiterate response to my review. The previous negative reviews about this company speak for themselves and are very accurate with my experience. I didn’t mention any issues with the brown spots from my dog being his fault. The SOD was certainly not established as I have pulled up multiple areas to fix his miserable attempt at grading. Also the timeline wasn’t months. It was exactly 3 weeks from start of job to me telling him not to come back. Me calling a “part” Incorrectly is irrelevant. The point was you didn’t know how to fix your mistakes. I would like to state once again please save your time and money and go with a professional.

Save your money. We contacted Shawn for a spring clean-up service for our front and back yard, essentially looking to have all dead landscaping removed from the ground (leaves, pine needles, plants that were not cut down in the fall, branches from the last snow). Shawn provided an estimate which we agreed to pay. After arriving onsite, he called explaining that he did not throughly evaluate our landscaping before providing the estimate and, now that he was looking at the job, he would need to charge nearly 4 times what he quoted us. That price was astronomical and no where in range of other bids we got. We came to an agreement that he would start work until i could arrive at home to have a better walk through of the property with him. I told him verbally on the phone we were not going to go above what he quoted us. Once i was home and we walked the property I saw several issues: 1. His crew were using our rakes and wheelbarrow to do the work. 2. He was complaining about how difficult it was to remove leaves from evergreen bushes (I suggested he invest in a professional grade blower). But again not my problem 3. They had only partially finished the front yard and said they reached the limit of work they could do in the quoted estimate. 4. Did not have proper trailer or truck to remove the materials from our front yard and would need to be back. They did not return the next day to pick up the materials. When I called to re-schedule their pick-up, Shawn told me they would finish the front yard which is what he drove by to “review” before giving his estimate. He later backed-out of finishing this work, giving a long list of reasons why the “math” didn’t add up for on him on this job (he basically low balled his estimate and then refused to finish the work because he was going to be upside down). In summary - save your time and money on a professional who knows how to properly bid on work and will complete the job he bid on. Shawn is not your guy for this and will give you a laundry list of excuses.

Shawn and his crew did a wonderful spring clean of our yard, including adding mulch. They did everything I requested in a timely manner and at a good price. I would definitely recommend Excellent Landscape to others.

UPDATE - it’s been a couple of years since Shawn and his ‘crew’ installed my fence. What a joke! We have had to replace so many panels because they HAMMERED them in, instead of using screws which is what any reputable landscaper would hold know. The gates jam, and many of the panels split apart. I had to pay another person to fix it. Posts weren’t leveled. We have spent more time fixing the ‘new’ fence than Shawn’s so called landscaping company did. I pay him over $40,000 and my old fence looked better than the new one he built. I wonder what excuses he’ll post about this review and I’m looking forward to seeing that it’s all my fault. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! The owner, Shawn, was the most unprofessional human being I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. As soon as he had his money he stopped showing up when he said he would and instructed his crew to do only half the job that I paid them to do. Within a month of my fence being built, the posts were already warping and the gate wouldn’t close, however, Shawn blamed the whole thing on me and refused to fix it. Screws were left sticking out of the fence, and tree roots that were supposed to have been dug out were only taken to ground level, even though he was paid to take them out completely. When I told Shawn I needed him to come out and readjust the sprinkler heads because they were spraying my neighbors, he argued with me that they were fine, so I was forced to record it in order to prove the problem. All of the jobs were left halfassed and there was no final walkthrough because Shawn kept not showing up or sending other people out. When I finally started to clean up the backyard after the mess Shawn and his crew made, I found 3 of his Starbucks frappacino cans in my yard and a ton of cigarette butts left lying around. So, if you want to throw your money away and have to have someone else fix the issue that Shawn and his crew cause, then call these guys, otherwise FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!

Not a man of his word. Shawn and I had an agreement for him to take care of 3 properties I have - Weed, water 2 of them, mow the other one; snow removal at all 3 during winter. He had not been doing what he said he was doing this summer even though I was paying him. I knew he wasn't doing a good job but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. When I sent him an email with containing photos specifically outlining what he had missed, I never heard from him again - despite multiple efforts to contact him (including phone calls and text). Not someone I would want to hire ever again. You should save yourself the hassle of him making promises of the work he would do, then never following through on those promises. Disappointing.
