Landscape Living in Denton

If I could rate them a 0 I would. I have been trying to get the projects I hired Terry for, over a year and a half ago, finished. He is incredibly unprofessional and not responsive at all. He has one excuse after another. I normally would not post such a scathing review but after giving him nearly $10k of my very hard earned and saved money, I dont have a single project at 100% completion. Terry and his crew were to install new landscaping in the front of my house, replace my fence and build a new deck, but nothing at all has been completed. I am beside myself since it took so long time as a single mom to save up the money to have this work done on my home and he has ultimately stolen from me. He went completely M.I.A for nearly a year and it wasnt until I contacted the BBB before he would return my calls or messages. He promised everything would be completed by May 17th and it is now one week from that date and not a single bit of additional work has been done. I recommend looking at the BBB site for the full reviews on Landscape Living Environments. I trusted this man, as the owner of Landscape Living Environments and took his word (as well as a contract) stating all of the work would be completed in a timely fashion and to satisfaction, and the only thing he did was leave me with unfinished projects including a fence that was never replaced (that Im now having to find additional funds to replace) and nearly $10k of my money. Please do not put your money or trust into this business.

Terry and his crew did an amazing job transforming our backyard from nothing but grass to an oasis of outdoor living. Terry was quick to respond, kept us updated and ensured we were happy with the results.

Terry and crew were very easy to work with in our efforts to enhance our front bed. We ve tried many different options but really believe that Terry s recommendations will be the answer. Affordable and reasonable, very quick to respond. I ll not hesitate to hire LL again!

The quality of the work on several projects ranged from very high to very low. During one of the projects damage done by a worker driving a skid steer was excessive and not fully repaired. The owner said he would return. But when bad weather got in the way the workers did not return and the owner did not proactively contact us. In the end we were on our own to repair and finish the work.

This is probably the first time Ive ever written a review, but I feel that it requires a review based on our overall experience. We had our front and back yard re-landscaped back in the summer of 2021. Terry did a great job in designing and drawing up plans. He has a great eye for seeing the potential and making recommendations on what plants will work best in the Texas heat/climate. We had some delays due to weather and labor issues so our project that was supposed to start in May 2021 did not get started until late July during the hottest part of the summer. We had to follow-up every week during that timeframe to get updates on when the project would start because we were not receiving any communication from Terry about our project status. We were trying to be understanding because we had made a large investment in the project and wanted it to be done well. There were some plants that we had to change out due to heat of the summer. We also wanted to change out a few plants for others, but they were nearing the end of season and Terry indicated he couldnt get those and would install them at the beginning of Spring 2022 for us. The signed contract indicated that there was a 1 year replacement policy on any plants that did not survive. We have 13 plants that need to be replaced along with adding 7 plants that were promised to be installed this season. We have called and texted at least 4-5x since the beginning of April. Although, Terry does respond it has been one reason or another as to why he hasnt been able to come and finish or replace our plants. There is always a promise for the next week and then that week comes and goes with no communication. Our biggest regret is paying the final bill without all of our requested plants being installed. I wish I could say that our experience has been pleasurable, but it has been very frustrating and it looks like we are going to have to finish the job ourselves. If the job is to be finished, then we need communication and a date for completion. We dont want to wait and have our plants planted too late in the season again.

Terry and crew did an excellent job updating our front landscape. We are very happy with the results and would recommend them!

Landscape Living made my mud pit front yard into a paradise. I liked making a plan with Terry and seeing on paper the layout and design. Terry knows how to use rocks, mulch, grass, shrubs, and border to enhance the look. The transition was amazing. Terry and crew were professional and good to work with throughout the project and I m happy with the results.

I knew what I wanted but they helped me decide on exactly what I wanted and needed. And worked with me so I could maintain easily with my skill set since I do not have a green thumb. Will have them back for more!!

Terry has been great to work with from design to the finished product. Always available to answer questions and make changes if needed. We are very happy with our new backyard and I would recommend this company to anyone.

After our initial contractor didnt stick within our budget and kept telling us we were all good, I had to find another. Finding Terry was great! Terry not only has done great work for us, the entire backyard and will soon do our outdoor kitchen, he conducted himself professionally. Everything was communicated, all the Is and Its dotted and crossed. Literally, any changes to the contract were specified, priced and communicated ahead of time. I will be using Landscape Living exclusively for outdoor projects from here on out and I recommend you do the same, you wont be disappointed!

Terry Anderson will not return calls for Warranty work. BEWARE and do not listen to his sob stories. Do Not pay him and expect him to stand by his word that he will return to fix the problems they have created. Our patio and fence are falling apart and I will have to hire another company to fix his terrible work.

Terry and his crew did a complete replacement of our landscaping. We wanted something very different from what we had, but we werent really sure what. Terry worked with us to come up with a design that is very creative, but also very beautiful, functional, and easy to maintain. In short, it was exactly what we wanted and needed. He and his crew was always very responsive, flexible, and professional. Terry was extremely good at figuring out how to do what we wanted, but to do it in an economical and practical way. We are extremely pleased with the results and highly recommend this company for your next landscaping project, whatever it might be.

I highly recommend Landscape Living. Terry was very responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. I had an outdoor kitchen built and a large rock bed installed. The finished product is beautiful. Terry communicated and updated me throughout the project. He made sure all work was performed to our liking and made adjustments where needed. I will be certainly be using Landscape Living for future projects.

I would definitely NOT recommend this landscaper. He does have a good eye for layout and design, but his customer service and follow up is horrible! His contract states that he will replace any plants that die up to a year. We have had 3 plants die and have reached out to him numerous times. He says he will take care of it, or hes been on vacation hasnt had time. Now he doesnt return our calls. Dont Use!! He does not do what he pitches.

I love my new flower beds, and Terry was really easy to work with! He worked around my weird schedule to meet with me and was able to come up with a design that included low-maintenance plants (I do not have a green thumb). I highly recommend!

Lost a few cherised plants due to the unseasonably cold winter we had this year, but they were under warranty and were replaced in short order once Mr. Anderson was made aware of the situation. Thank you for your quick response and good advice.

Landscape Living was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Terry gave us some great economical ideas to make our backyard landscaping so much more inviting and private. He was available anytime we needed him, and if we thought something wasnt right, he worked with us to make it right. The work started and finished on time and looks great! We will use this company again.

We were having new siding and gutters put on our house and we discovered behind the gutter downspout had eroded mortar. Trevor came over and did the repair for us by grinding out the loose mortar and packed in new. The repair was much needed and we appreciate the responsiveness in getting it done for us. Owner and workers are nice and polite, but the quality and attention to detail on my concrete patio was sub-par at best. To make it worse, the follow-up is some of the worst Ive seen. That stained patio is flaking all over the place which is due to bad prep and I have plantings that havent made it and are still covered by warranty. If you are looking at this company I would also recommend not paying them in full until job is fully done and you are satisfied. That was my mistake.

Landscape Living built a beautiful stone wall for our front flower bed and filled the beds with shrubs, plants and trees! The service was very professional and they built and installed everything to my liking. Details were very important to everyone working the site. I couldn t be happier with the results! They also installed three larger trees in the front yard and built a river rock bed in a smaller bed near our home. I highly recommend Terry and his crew with Landscape Living!

Our neighbors behind us hired them to put up a new fence between our houses. It took a little longer than expected and we had a few minor issues along the way but they fixed everything that needed fixed and the fence looks great. They stand behind their work and the owner was wonderful to talk to.

I had landscaping edging put in, and some trees and shrubs. The rock Terry recommended looks really good, and the plants are doing well about 2 weeks later now. The black mulch gives it a professional, finished look. Terry made sure I knew how to take care of my new plants at the end of the job. Highly recommended!

Terry was great to work with. Our backyard was nothing but dirt, and he helped us put together a plan to build a fun space for our kids to play. He really helped with picking the right trees, which was very important to us. Once the job was done, he personally gave me detailed instructions on how to care for the new sod and trees. Very nice guy.

I am so happy with Landscape Living Environments! Terry came to my home on Thursday to give me an estimate on a flower bed along the length of my back fence, and his crew was here on Friday to do it - and they did an amazingly beautiful job! Everyone was super professional, the work is high quality, and they were extremely friendly, efficient, and left everything clean. I love my new flower bed! Thanks to LLE for a wonderful new addition to my yard! I will definitely use them again when I need more landscaping work done, and highly recommend them!

We re new construction and have used different contractors for different jobs. Wish we would ve started and finished with Terry and his crew. The quality of workmanship is top notch. Every employee we encountered on the project knew the desired end result and it was delivered. My wife and I are currently dealing with a company that subcontracts everything and it s been a nightmare waiting for stars to align to finish a job. Terry apologized for being slower than promised (by two days) because it rained. There s a pride in workmanship among this company that s rare. Highly, highly recommend.

Just finished a job with Landscape Living and I couldnt be more happy. Quality work for a great price! I would and will recommend them to everyone I know. Terry had a great vision for my landscape and executed that vision.

Stunningly beautiful work! I met Terry while he was working on a neighbor s yard. I had a small job and was wondering if they could do it. I was extremely surprised at the reasonable cost of the job. They put in stone borders, with mulch and cleaned out the flower beds. The bed cleaning and mulching was so clean. We where so happy with the work, we added more while he was out here. The work they do is high quality with a cost that is refreshing reasonable. Honestly, I am not sure if I would hire them based on the website because the work is sooo high end, I would have presumed the costs would be out of range. Don t make that mistake and miss out on a great company with great results. Highly recommend!

Terry and his crew did a WONDERFUL job on my patio extension and building my pergola! This is something I have wanted since the day I have moved into my house and they more than exceeded my expectations!! Terry is a great communicator and kept me up to date during the entire project. There were some delays due to weather but I was never left in the dark and the project was still completed by the date that was promised! Beautiful, beautiful work!! We wanted to honor Native Texas plants and Terry put our plan into action. Yard looks great and makes our home look pretty awesome. Terry was great to work with and very professional.

Our experience with this company was not a good one. I would encourage everyone to do the following; Get a drawing of the design with details so they remember the design that was described and agreed to. Get a written commitment from them of the schedule of work from beginning to end in detail. Do not allow work to start unless it s to be worked on every day after start (barring bad weather) until it s completely done. They are taking your second payment on start and should work drag out forever you have no security Get a commitment from your salesman to have him visit your job each day to ensure the workers are following your plan exactly and any issues are resolved right away Good luck

Although the project took longer than expected, it was worth the wait. The stonework looks amazing. We also had our driveway moved and a large trellis built for privacy. The trellis looks amazing also and you would never know that we moved the driveway. We will use Landscape Living again.

Terry was very easy to work with and his crew did a great job. The recent rains held up the project by several weeks (obviously not his fault) and they ended up finishing the job on a Saturday morning to get it done. He responded to every text and call, which is practically unheard of with contractors these days. Once I get around to the backyard, Terry will be my first call!

I needed a porch and an enclosure for my dogs. No one wanted to tackle this because we basically have more rocks than dirt (large unmoveable rocks). I was thinking it wasnt going to happen until I had a friend recommend Landscape Living. They built my wonderful porch with railings and constructed the fenced in enclosure for my dogs including electrical fence.

Very friendly! Terrys crew worked hard and created the most beautiful backyard space. Some product came in wrong and he contacted me immediately and let me know. Overall great company. Great service. Would definitely recommend!

We initially contracted with this company in on 8/24/16 and work began 9/22/16. There was initial issues when picking our retaining wall stone. We had been told that we had many options to choose from and was directed to the vendor site to pick colors. However upon pickup of stones I was told only several colors to choose from otherwise up to 8 week delay due to back order. This was unfortunate but we decided to go with an in stock color to avoid delays. Work proceeded until 11/1/16 when I halted work as we were 6 weeks into the project and only the retaining wall was partially completed (retaining wall, patio and sprinkler system was contracted). In addition do to a design change that was unforeseen due to our slope a cost disagreement occurred. This continued till an agreement was made on 11/30/16 on cost and to continue. However during this agreement I asked to cancel the contract and I would pay for work done however it was refused and I was threatened with a lawsuit if I didnt continue. So I reluctantly continued and even expressed I was doing so as I felt I did not have a choice. Since 11/30/16 only 2 days of work has occurred. 1 was to compact the soil and the other was to add additional back fill. The lack contact with the owner Terry occurred on 1/10/17. He has not returned my messages nor emails. I paid a 30% down payment and 30% at start of the project. This based on the project breakdown has paid in full for the wall and nearly the entire patio cost. Unfortunately I have an unfinished wall and a partially demolished patio. At this point I have requested a refund for the unfinished work as 4 months (3 months if you take out the 1 month stoppage) was an unreasonable amount of time to complete this project and the lack of contact for 14 days is unacceptable. If you read other reviews here it seems they may have been for smaller projects. Im not sure what happened on ours other than maybe the project was two big for his team to handle. However if you also review him under the Better Business Bureau you with find additional complaints from 2016 that are similar to mine. Ive approached everything with them on the up and up and only wanted to be treated fairly in return. I just hope at this point the business is honest enough to realize the mistakes that occurred and refund/credit me for the incomplete work and allow both of us to move on. ***Updated 1/24/17 4:02 PM*** ***Updated Edited 1/24/17 3:47PM*** Business contacted me shortly after my initial post via email and indicated they will wait for me to remove all and any damaging slandering statements from any and all media sources before further communicating. In addition they indicated all communication and public statements will be made available to their legal counsel. In response to there comment on this review. I did ask for them to stop as indicated in my review which was 11/1/16 and this was resolved and work was agreed to continue on 11/30/16. In addition the comment was the project was delayed due to weather. Although there have been some weather days in throughout the project I have meticulous kept track of rain days and temperatures through out the project. Facts are that 124 has elapsed since the work began. 29 days were missed because I request stoppage to work out cost issues we could not agree upon which leaves 95 days that have elapsed. The business indicated in the comment they would provide a refund however in the email to me they refuse to discuss anything further until I remove my comments. I indicated I would be happy to update my comments with any resolution should one occur. I have stated facts in this review that can be backed by email correspondence and messages with the business. In addition to the tracking I have done throughout the project regarding freeze days and rain. I will not be recoil under the threat of legal action for providing the facts of what occurred in my project. Also research ALLIANCE LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION via BBB and Google reviews. Found these out as I did additional research.

Terry and his team did a fantastic job with helping us design our backyard patio. Were now looking at add a Pergola and some trees. Great job all around. Very easy to work with.

LLE did an amazing job of redoing our entire backyard and updating the front yard. They took our basic design and added artistic changes, implemented it with high quality work, and created a beautiful landscape. We have a lovely garden to enjoy and to entertain friends and family. We have received many compliments.

Terry and his crew have done a few different jobs for me. Flagstone patio. Fire pit. Retaining wall. These guys ROCK. Friendly and professional. But most of all, very trustworthy and communicated great throughout the job. Very happy with our backyard hang out area thanks to Terry Anderson and Landscape Living Environments.
