Bill Baltes did an 11 zone irrigation system with Rachio controller and connected gutter downspouts to a new 4” drain to existing drain sump. Also added a small drain sump to a low spot. They also replaced 18’ of chain link fence with cedar and a 8’6” double gate. It all works great. I’m posting this review 3 months after the work was completed and after several long rains. I like Bill’s style, knowledge, integrity and the work of his crew. I’d use them again and recommend them to others. I’ve known Bill for at least twenty years as a customer of mine at a wholesale supply business that he frequented. So I know him as a customer and a supplier and creditor.

I must express my profound disappointment with my experience at Growth Spurts, especially with the handling of my pool heater repair and the apparent lack of accountability from the company's management, particularly its owner, Bill. From the onset in July,2023; when I handed over my pool heater for repairs, the journey has been nothing short of frustrating. The diagnosis provided by the company—that the malfunction was due to high pH levels—conflicted with my pool's consistently maintained records, which showed no such extremes. The ordeal took a turn for the worse when, after retaining my heater for over six months, it was returned in a disassembled state, dumped unannounced outside my gate. This not only showed a stark disregard for customer property but also necessitated additional expenditure on my part for its movement and potential reassembly. Compounding this issue was the lack of effective communication throughout the process. The only significant response from Bill was through a denial of my complaints filed with the BBB. It was only then, and not before taking and disassembling my heater, that Bill indicated the heater was out of warranty, being 2.5 years old. This revelation raises serious questions: If the warranty period had indeed lapsed, why was the heater accepted for service, disassembled, and then declared out of warranty? This experience has been eye-opening, and I urge potential customers to conduct thorough research and exercise caution before engaging with Growth Spurts. The absence of accountability, direct communication, and transparency from its owner, coupled with the disregard for customer satisfaction and property, is alarming. Please consider this and other reviews carefully before choosing Growth Spurts for your pool maintenance or repair needs.
