Forever Green provided an incredible experience when they assisted in planting a memorial tree for our family. Their team was very accommodating, they guided us through the entire process, and scheduling was a breeze. On planting day their landscaping team, were punctual, efficient, and respectful of the significance of the project. I couldn’t recommend Forever Green more highly!
We had them come help with our grading issues to keep water away from the house. They were able to help us out and make our yard look amazing with some extra trees, plants and a patio area. The staff was wonderful and Mike and Bill were very helpful in answering questions and making sure we were happy with the final product. Overall great experience working with them.
I hope this review will help people avoid frustration with the so-called “Forever Green Landscape Designer Team.” Last August, I contacted “Forever Green Landscape Designer Bill” to trim my overgrown Rose of Sharon bushes and also remove unwanted plants in the front flower bed, then replace them with new plants. I did not hear any schedule from Bill before I left home outside the country. On 9/21/24, I saw a phone message left the day before that Forever Green folks would come to do the work. I quickly emailed Bill, saying that I was not home. He responded that he would make sure the new plants would be watered and taken care of until I got home (see pic). When I arrived home, I saw all the new plants were dead (see picture) and the Rose of Sharon brushes were bunched up—not much of the trimming was done (see picture). I called Bill. He came over and was so surprised that the plants were dead and the brushes were not trimmed. I was furious and said the work was very unprofessional and unacceptable. I requested the work needed to be redone and made sure he brought people who knew how. Bill came with two guys. They trimmed the bushes and replanted the new plants. They left an area of 3x3 feet empty in the front bed. Bill left these guys before the work was completed. If these were designers, they would scale the area before planting. I requested the crew to pass on to Bill that i needed a plant to be planted at that bare spot. Bill never returned the request. I do not recommend this place to anyone because they are not a designer nor credible!
Recently visited forever green and had absolutely no idea what to get or what I needed to prep for my garden. The staff took their time (almost closing time as well!) to walk me thru recommendations and answer my questions. Really was impressed with the level of dedication and knowledge.
I used to shop here for everything. I enlisted their service to limb up a maple tree. I was charged over $400 to snip 7 branches. They didn't even need to use a saw the branches were so small. I wouldn't call that a lumb up. Then I ordered three trees and had them planted. One of the trees has never been properly supported. I've gone back and forth with them on this over 2-3 years. They need to support the tree higher up the trunk. Not difficult. Don't need to be a plant expert to figure this out. As I've tried to get support from them on this I've been ignored, condescended to, dismissed, and straight up disrespected. One man came out and snapped the supports off and said he'd be right back to fix it. That was in October. The tree had to go through an Iowa winter with no supports because he didn't come back and fix it until spring. Terrible service. Gross attitudes. I'm not going back, and as my neighbors have seen it all, they say they aren't going there either. Lowe's is better for selection, prices, service, and for being treated like a human.
What a wonderful experience! I worked with Bill on the consultation, plan and estimate. Quick, easy, and reasonable. The crew was outstanding and made sure they knew exactly how/where I wanted things placed and they were so neat and respective of my property as well as the neighbors. Bill called at the end of the day to make sure everything met my expectations. I had a fence removed, a row of lilac bushes planted, and other flowering shrubs and plants installed. Top notch. Highly recommend.
I wish I could give anything more than 1 star right now. I love their store and nursery... but I can't for the life of me get them to communicate about having a job done by them! I contacted them THREE MONTHS ago. After 6 weeks of calling and emailing, they FINALLY sent a quote. I replied right back that it sounded reasonable. No response. 6 MORE weeks later, after I've tried multiple times to contact them, I get another email saying "sorry, here's a quote" with the same quote I received before. So I asked why we are in this limbo zone 3 months later... no reply as of now. I just want to be able to SCHEDULE A TIME FOR THE WORK TO BE DONE.

Great local garden center. Quality products and broad range.... just about everything you may need. They also do landscape work. They even have a butterfly garden and the kids can tag a Monarch in the fall before they go to Mexico.
Lots to choose from and a very friendly staff. They even have family focused activities at times.

Hidden gem!! If you have a gardening need, go here first. Super cute local place that also does some community events (plant your own vegetable garden, etc). Lots of interesting pots and garden decor, reasonably priced basic supplies, and a large lawn ornament/statue section.
Thanks to all who left reviews. It sounds like their shop is great but that the lawn and landscaping services leave a lot to be desired. Im looking for someone to plant a shrub for me -- unexpectedly cant do it myself -- but will look elsewhere based on reviews.
We had Forever Green put in a retaining wall for us. After about a year the wall started to separate. We told them about the separation. They said that they would come fix it, that was 2 years ago and its still not fixed
Excellent products for patio and yard
I have been here multiple times and have given them numerous opportunities. Every plant I have bought from here has had spider mites. Their plants are overpriced for being so infested with spider mites. One of the plants I got yesterday had damage from mites on every single leaf. Do not go here.
Super helpful staff....got exactly what I was looking for.
I bought a beautiful hanging plant on Mothers Day weekend. It cost $40 and looked amazing. When I got it home and hung it up I noticed the potting soil looked cheap. Each day the plant looked worse and worse. The plant was dying. I decided to repot the whole thing using better potting soil. After trying to take it apart I saw that it was very root- bound. Apparently the hanging plant had been around for quite a long time. There was no way of saving this plant. What a disappointment.
Do not use them for landscaping! You will end up redoing the work yourself!

In Fall, we had someone from Forever green to come over and visit our yard for a major landscaping project (to be done in Spring). When he visited, I asked him to take at least a few pictures so that he remembers the current setup, but he said he has a good memory and he will send me a couple of ideas with an estimate for each. Story short, I never heard from them. I could call and ask what happened, but it s their responsibility to call back and earn my business, or at least say they are not able to do the job.

Nice selection of smaller starter plants. Their larger plants are hit and miss and can be expensive.
We hired them to place fill dirt in an area in our backyard and seed it. They haphazardly threw straw on top so only areas with thick straw grew any grass. The dirt sank after about a week so we asked them to raise it up to where we had agreed upon. They said they would, but never came out. About two weeks later, despite watering it as directed, it never grew in the areas without straw and the ones that did burned right up. We sent them pictures and requested they fix the issue, and this time they just never responded after two attempts to contact them. Terrible service. We ended up having to buy our own dirt, seed, and straw from Lowes and redo the job ourselves. Completely wasted our money with this group.

They have a good selection of native prairie plants. Milkweeds, blazing star, baptisa and more. This trip I bought some great looking pots of pansies for a fall planter.

They was help me do my back yard. if they do good job I can understand why they charge me 90thousands,1;they over time not a week or a month, around half year they over, I wait a year for my outdoor kitchen. 2;have trees die in a few month. 3;The outdoor kitchen sink leaking water . 4;The vegetables garden didn t close well for Rabbit. 5; the broken fans, etc... I want to be kind with forever green. But every time when we use, we will find new problems. You know , every time when you want to enjoy your backyard and outdoor kitchen should be nice weather and nice mood. When you enjoy every time you find new problems from them. Make me crazy on this . Every Single Time. If google have zero star I will Choose.

I ordered 1 cu yd of compost and 1 cu yd of top soil. When ordering they told me they would be minimally mixed together. I was less than impressed when the product was delivered. Quality of top soil was far less than desired, It s got a lot of sticks, rock, etc mixed in and was highly compacted / more of a clay consistency, worried how my plants will fair this year. Upside; customer service and delivery man were wonderful to work with during ordering and delivery. UPDATE; I am a bit late in updating however, the nursery did reach out promptly to let me know there had been a mistake with my order. They rectified the situation quickly and I believe they were genuine in their response. I will order from them again.

Really good experience here today. I found just what I was looking for, a staff member pointed out a sale table (where I found more of what I was looking for!) and the lady handling the cash register couldnt have been nicer, except she wouldnt let me take the just-hatching butterflies out for a better picture - which played along with my joke about wanting to do it in the first place. Then she double checked to make sure the plants were priced correctly & all discounts were applied (a couple were missing tags) and then helped with the door on the way out. I got a good deal on some great looking plants (even the sale table ones werent distressed or root bound in the slightest) and the people were super cool. I forgot Forever Green had a garden center here and Im kicking myself now. Next spring it will be my first stop instead of my last

We had a terrible experience with their lawn service. We had to keep emailing them to get anyone to respond to accept us. We had 2 treatments from them and our lawn looks awful. We decided to cancel and go back to doing it ourselves. It is not worth the money. We also had requested information on landscaping and never received it. There was never any follow through. We have switched to Gregs Lawn and Landscaping and love them. One star is too many but had to choose.
Extremely poor experience. It took 4 weeks to get someone to come out and do an estimate for landscaping work. 2 weeks later, I had to call to inquire on the status of the estimate since no one had contacted us. The response was oh, someone should have told you we were busy. I was transferred to the designer who promised he would send the estimate to me the very next day at the latest. 2 and 1/2 more weeks went by before I finally received an estimate. This company has no regard for their customers or respect for their time. Extremely disappointed - this is not a place you want to be spending your money.
The staff is so helpful when in comes to plant selection for your yard. I highly recommend this place just for the added service that comes with purchasing plants from them.
