I hired Johnny on the spot for landscaping, clean out, painting and other miscellaneous projects around my grandmothers house. The first two weeks Johnny on the spot was on it! One of the hardest working people I have seen. He cut back over 20 years of over growth. The property never looked so good so I thought ok I found a company in Coos Bay that I can hire on a consistent basis to help with not only landscaping needs but “what Johnny said was everything else.” He originally only bid the job for $900 but I ended up paying him $1,500.00 because I know how hard he worked. After this I started him on phase 2&3 of a 6 phase project. From there it did not go well. In 21/2 weeks he was supposed to do a few things here and there for me and then paint the exterior of my grandmas house. Within that two weeks he asked me for money several times without completing any work. Our deal was that I would pay him $500 to start the job and then the rest at the end of the job. Everytime I turned around he asked me for money, he would give me an excuse as to why the jobs were not even started or finished and then he would be unprofessional and rude and call me names. It got so bad I couldn’t even talk to him in the end I had to group text his girlfriend Amber to check in on the progress of his work. Today was the last straw with this company. I was promised by Amber that yesterday and today Johnny and his crew would be at the house and get a bunch of things (that I already paid thousands of dollars for completed) this didn't happen. He was at my house from 9-3 and got literally nothing accomplished dumping trash on my property before he left because I told Amber that if he didn’t finish painting the house I was done. I am from Coos Bay Oregon I understand it rains there a lot. However we had talked about painting the house for over 2 1/2 weeks!!!! That should have given this company enough time to figure out their schedule and get this job done. They did not. Johnny starts projects and doesn’t finish them. Not even all of the landscaping I hired and paid him to do is done! As far as Amber goes …. She is great the glue that keeps this company together. A hard working mom of two who always did want I asked her to do and more. She sent me paid invoices right away, went to the house and took pictures for me. Her communication is spot on. I would hire her on the spot unfortunately not Johnny. I am a very successful business owner myself and have multiple properties that I manage I even offered to help mentor this company who is just starting out but I just couldn’t continue on with the disrespect, the excuses and the constant asking for money from Johnny and the fact that he never finished anything. I wish this company well maybe growing pains maybe Amber just needs to get rid of Johnny and call it Amber on the spot I don’t know but Johnny needs to learn how to communicate with his paying clients in a more professional manner. And how to finish the projects he starts. I personally would not hire Johnny for another job again. He can’t be trusted to finish anything. In 4 weeks I have 1/2 the landscaping done. 1/2 a house painted, garbage left on my property and 100% unfinished projects. I paid him a total of $6,100.00 they are lucky that I didn’t fire him sooner and that I am not honestly taking them to court to get my money back. This is all because I feel bad for Amber and her two kids. Wish things would have turned out differently I planned on keeping them on full time but can no longer do this.
They came by to pick up some things I posted on marketplace and offered to do the yard and gutters while here. Did a fantastic job, the yard looks great, driveway looks great, super happy with results and definitely gonna have them come back for more work around the house.
Prompt and courteous service. Did a great job weeding flower beds and yard clean up.
Hire at your own risk. Don’t advance pay. And keep track of your tools. After first day of work his wife asked for a $100 advance. Against my better judgement i loaned $50. I was unexpectedly hospitalized later that weekend and had to postpone his next work day. He said I wasn’t really in hospital but just trying to deny him work so he wasn’t going to repay the advance. He had also taken a tool home, likely by mistake. A month of abusive texts followed until I asked police to intervene. Didn’t get the tool back nor all of the advance. And the gutter he “cleaned” is running over in the middle.
Very easy to schedule, great communication, professional, and accommodating. He performed lawn mowing, weeding, and exterior window cleaning. Highly recommend!
