A Cut Above Landscape in Commerce City

I was happy with the service from ACA Landscape. They were in and out quickly to winterize our sprinkler system and the technician was very knowledgeable in answering our questions. We will schedule them again in the spring to turn the system on.

The professional staff found a schedule even when if it was late to do winterization, their website has a video to do a gravity drop with helpful tips to protect the backflow on your own, they have automated the tracking of their appointments and messaging to customers and their crew was very helpful in answering all my questions - overall very satisfied with their service!

They do a responsible job and are easy to deal with if there is a weather problem. I definitely recommend them.

Ive been using this company for a couple years for my lawn service I had an issue this year and tried to contact someone I texted, called and never got a call back. They did aeration on my front lawn but didnt even bother doing the back.

Had a sprinkler blowout. The crew was very professional, clean, prompt and efficient. I will be using them other services come the spring time.

ACA came out a week after I scheduled even though I waited until late in the fall to contact them. Then, there was a slight problem with my tenants not being able to turn the water back on. They came out and fixed my sprinkler head and came back 2 days later to fix my leak which was fast. I had a special hose so he didnt have it with him but was able to get it that day and come back. Great service!

Unfortunately, our HOA hired this company and they have done a terrible job all year. Dull blades, wheel marks, weed whack grass down to dirt, rushing every task they do. The lack of care at my location is astounding. Continues to be bad every week at my unit, and im talking about the basics took off one additional star.

Very helpful with my son in law having a sore foot. My first week was last week where he did miss two small tufts of grass with the weed eater but hopefully this week will be better. I am not home to evaluate it. They are very good at communication which I really appreciate. We got the middle pkg, but are at the end of the season. Looking forward to the aeration!! Today was the first mowing. They did a great job and they checked in with me first.

This was our first time using this company and it will be our last. We requested a quote to move two sprinkler heads and audit our system. We were told that it would be a $90.00 fee to come out and provide the quote, but that the $90.00 would be applied toward the quoted services if we went with this company. Period. Ultimately we went with this company to complete the work. Upon receiving the invoice the $90.00 was not taken off. I reached out to the customer service team who related that they have exceeded the allotted time on-site and later returned to complete the repair. As a result, the audit fee remains separate from the repair costs. Wed like to clarify that the $90.00 audit fee is only credited towards the final payment if the full audit time wasn t used or if there are remaining time unused. Of course they returned to complete the repair, is that not what getting a quote entails? They were at our house maybe 35-40 minutes for the quote and none of those stipulations were relayed over the phone when I initially requested the quote. That seems very dishonest and very misleading. I likely would not have agreed to the final quote and used this company had the information be told clearly to me. Therefore I cannot recommend this company.

We had service done to repair our sprinkler valve last summer, A cut above also did our winterization. Upon turning on our sprinklers again the valve is leaking which is likely due to error in the winterization. We have called and e-mailed for support multiple times to be told we need to determine when we can get you scheduled.. if I go online to book new service (which requires you to pay in advance) I can see they have multiple appointments for sprinkler services in my zip code available. We had given A Cut Above additional business for our lawn care, but now dont trust that they respect their customers or care about the work they do.

Our spring aeration and fertilizing went off without a hitch. It had to be rescheduled due snow, but that process was easy and transparent. Looking forward to them continuing to take care of our law this summer.

I have used A Cut Above for some sprinkler services as well as aeration/overseeding. Unfortunately, due to my own fault, I didnt see the results off the overseeding service I would have liked as I was still trying to figure out how to properly water, but I will leave this review for the winterization/activation services. Winterization was a breeze, they came out and did the whole process in a matter of minutes. Communication was great and price was reasonable. I also scheduled their activation a few months in advance as they fill up quickly but they are good about communicating when you should schedule this well in advance once you are in their system. They did the activation yesterday. The staff was incredibly friendly, walked me through most of my system and advised on how to water at different times of year/following overseeding/etc... Super knowledgeable overall. After they finished testing out each sprinkler head and ensuring coverage was adequate, they went on their way. Fortunately, I was outside doing additional work as a part in my secondary junction box in the back became detached either during the winterization or activation service and was DUMPING water next to my house which could have been disasterous. ACA was able to get another crew out within a couple hours and they got the part disconnected. While I wish the first crew would have caught this while they were there, the overall way the company handled this was A+. They resolved the issue quickly and stood by their work through the process. I will absolutely be continuing to use their services and will recommend anyone else would too as a result of their overall customer service, professionalism, and knowledge provided.

The time windows given dont matter, they constantly change them then they show up early and dont communicate or check anything theyresupposed to. Guy comes to activate sprinklers, shows up 10 minutes early and turns them on, never goes out back to check if theyre working and when we go to ask, his van is gone and he drives off without even saying hes done. Who knows if our sprinklers are working properly but will find out eventually and have someone else come out. Poor communication and rushed work.

Second year customer. First year service was great and scheduling was prompt. Once I signed up the ops team went ahead to schedule all services throughout the season. Based on that I booked full service and paid in full in Feb. Ops never scheduled my service even though it was supposed to start in April. I reached out to follow up 2nd week of April to get my services scheduled. So far only the mowing and sprinkler activation has been scheduled. I kept following up on aeration, fertilizing and over seeding and all I get is we re waiting for ops . All my neighbors have their yard already aerated and here I am, still waiting for it to get scheduled. I will never pay these guys in full again. Very disappointed with the lack of communication and follow up.

I am a renter and they contacted me without any refference to the owner and after they did the work they continued to send me the invoices, multiple requests to leave a review, etc. I ve asked to be removed from their mailing list and they keep asking for a review so here s you re review. Please leave me alone now. Also, I m not sure if they were the company who came to cut my grass today or if they were only hired for the sprinklers but whoever it was used a 10-year-old to cut the lawn and it looks like it.

Though I definitely appreciated the ease of booking and how quickly we were able to get service out, I am not thrilled with the execution of services. I had scheduled an aeration and overseeding for my front and back lawn, and the crew showed up on time to complete the services, however left before the backyard was even touched. No one came to the door to tell my why they left without completing the service I had booked, and I had to call into the company for them to tell me they didnt complete the backyard because I had weeds. If I hadnt have called, they would have charged me the full bill despite only completing some of the services I booked. I completely understand if they made the call that aeration would not have been beneficial for my backyard, but I dont understand why no one bothered to take the time to knock on the door to explain why they were leaving before they completed what I had originally booked. They seemed in a rush to get to their next job, and for that reason I think Ill use someone else who will actually take the time to recommend what is best in terms of care of my lawn.

ACA has been easy to work with and has provided quality work. Last appointment was for overseeding which included thorough aeration. Happy with the early results.

UPDATE (May 17) After connecting with ACA I can say I am convinced about their desire to make things right (even going above & beyond). Theyre replacing the grape plant and while they offered some remedies for the overseeding issue, we have decided to address that problem ourselves. You can tell they really are sincere about wanting to be a great business & so long as they communicate to their crews to be more careful/attentive they will go a long way. ================= Weve used ACA in the past for aeration (been a few years) and had been happy. This time I scheduled an overseeding as well. Hubby wasnt happy the grass seed was all in the garden hed recently planted and in the rocks surrounding the front yard. :( So that wont be fun once it starts growing. Also our grape plant that was looking really good this spring (& about 2 tall already) was completely torn up and I dont know where it ended up. So much for grapes this year (the smaller one that was only about 8 was noticed and avoided). I contacted ACA about this about a week ago as I didnt want to leave a bad review before contacting them, but havent heard back yet....

This is my 3rd time using this company. Their customer support is easy to reach, friendly, and helpful. It is absolutely worth hiring them to aerate and fertilize my lawn. Saves me a an entire day and they get it done in 30 minutes. I will definitely keep using them.

Arrived on time for aeration, had two large machines. They read the notes on the account prior to ringing the doorbell. Service was fast, and was cheaper than a few other companies I called locally.

I have used ACA for sprinkler shut off and turn on for many years. This year we have a different house and needed evaluation and repair on our existing sprinkler system. Burton and Noah were very knowlegable and quickly diagnosed our issues. We received a quote from ACE almost immediately. We have not yet completed the repairs because we are doing some additional landscaping first. I will definitely continue to work with them in the future.

**Update 5/29/23 - After someone finally arrived over a week ago, I was told they couldnt activate and audit the system due to a missing grommet. Pretty common part you should have in your trucks as a landscape company. I was also told Ops would have to call us to schedule a repair as they did not have any open appointments... which took a week for someone to call us back and then the first available was 3 weeks out.** Horrible communication with scheduling. 1st time block we had scheduled was 12-5. When we got the email it was routed to us with expected time of 0956-1156. Ultimately they ended up cancelling the 1st appt due to the recent rain last week, however I had to call to find out it was cancelled. If you knew appts for the whole day were cancelled why would you not reach out to the customers right away? The time block that was rescheduled for this week was supposed to be 7-12, I just got an email for routed time of 2:38-4:38. What is the point of even scheduling a time block if the routed time is outside of the time frame anyway. No consideration for people who make accomodations with their work schedule to ensure someone is home.

A cut above was nice to deal with, but we could not come to an understanding as to what I wanted vs their packages, I made the last call to them (I actually made two), and they never returned my call. So, sorry to say, I opted for someone else. Thanks anyway!

I LOVE IT!!!! We have been here over 20 years and have only been able to grow weeds and sucker trees. This is lovely!! I promise we will water water water and pray it takes. The team was amazing, on time, above and beyond, professional, friendly and they survived the 95 degrees!! They swept up, blew it out, took the trash and watered it all down. This vendor performed a yard cleanup service at the house I rent and I was really impressed. While I can t speak to pricing as the property management company handled this part, the company was extremely responsive and even sent me a link the day of the appointment that they were coming to track their location with a time estimate. They were within the later end of the time range but this was very helpful for me to plan my day. The staff was very nice and professional in interacting with them when they were here and they did a top notch job on the yard. We had a lot of suckers and vegetation taking things over and they knocked it all out and did an amazing job especially compared to a previous vendor that we had worked with. Their clean up was very detailed and they didn t leave any mess, I appreciated how thorough they were. I would definitely have this crew come take care of any properties I had if I owned any.

On my recent irrigation winterization Ferrari did a very good job and winterized my system in an efficient and professional manner.

I am changing my review below. Mike has gone above and beyond to try and make me happy. He has sent guys back out 3x and has reached out to me immediately each time I contact him. I really appreciate the fact that he wants to make things right. That is half the battle! Especially these days when it seems no one wants to work? Thanks! You have given me hope :-)) I hired them in August and paid $360 a month. Today they aerated my yard and supposedly seated and they broke a sprinkler line. The first time they came, they used a rider mower which I explicitly asked them not to. They ruined my front lawn and never repaired it. They are never here more than 10 minutes each time, and I am extremely disappointed with their service. My lawn is in disarray, and they have never once mentioned it. They supposedly seeded today yet I see barely any see on the lawn.. The company says the are going to save the client loads of time?? I have spent more time than ever having to constantly contacting them. No one tells you to water your lawn twice a day after seeding?? No intructions whatsoever! So disappointing for a service that claims they are there to take care of it all.

I called A Cut Above Landscape to help with winterizing our sprinkler system. They were the o my business to pick up when I called, therefore, got the business. The team was respectful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They went above and beyond by letting me know we should install a bleeder valve and gave us a quote within minutes. They were fast and efficient. We will certainly use them again in the future!

Efficient and professional sprinkler winterization!

They came out to blow out my sprinklers but for some reason couldn t figure out how to do it. Then the guy told me to go to the hardware store. My backflow valve they could not attach to for some reason? Honestly they are the supposed experts and now my system hasn t been blown out with freezing temperatures coming this evening. It Took two calls to get a refund for services not provided and they released a drain in my valve box and not sure if they put back. Overall they seemed to be in a hurry and couldn t figure out how to complete my job properly. So now I have to find someone else to come out. Not happy with their blow out service. They have Added hours to my day with multiple phone calls and now the problem of not having the blow out done.

It seems like these days its the exception rather than the rule to have a service provider that is responsive, proactive, shows up on time, and provides the services promised at a fair price, but that is exactly what A Cut Above Landscaping did. Ive been searching for a lawncare and landscaping provider that is reasonably priced and places an emphasis on service and professionalism for a long time, but I think that search is over. A neighbor recommended ACA, and Im so glad they did! Will definitely be using them again!

I forgot to ask about gravity draining a secondary pipe and they came back to my house to double check that everything was okay and functioning as it should. They could not perform the service and now cannot or will not reschedule me, and I have emailed them 10+ times to get a refund and they always say that someone will get back to me and so far I am still waiting for someone to get back to me and my refund. I would not trust them to come near my place.

Great experience with A Cut Above Landscape. They were very communicative and punctual. They also went beyond just doing the services, but explained some best practices behind the ways of doing different things.

Three appointments, and my sprinklers are still not blown out. First and second appointment, they forgot the larger air compressor. Understand forgetting it the first time, not the second. That speaks to poor internal communication. Also, they didn t even show up for the second appointment, just cancelled through email before they arrived. Third appointment, they had no idea what they were doing, and left because they didn t know how to proceed. I absolutely do not recommend this business.

I have now used A Cut Above for the last 4-5 years. They are fast, efficient, and have done a wonderful job with sprinkler blow-outs, and aeration over the years. They are cost friendly. Schedule online, pay online. Great Service, Great Experience. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Was able to get on their schedule quickly for a sprinkler blowout; the employees were very prompt and went above and beyond and pointed out a few things about our yard that was so helpful.

ACA landscape was able to help me blow out my sprinkler system really quickly and fix a valve that was stuck open. Normally, I do this work myself, but this year I couldnt figure out why it wasnt working. Not only did the service guys do the work, they helped educate me about the issue and let me know that I probably have a small leak as well. I would definitely recommend them for quick and friendly service at a fair price!

Where has this company been hiding ?? I m mad I didn t come across them last year when I was searching. Customer service is amazing. They answer the phone everytime you call. Great communication via phone and email, very professional. Price is unmatched. The actual service was also great. They work fast. Even when they made a mistake, they made it right. As mentioned by others, I have not used this business but Im writing this review because of their awful marketing. I got a flag in my lawn advertising their services but I find this highly unprofessional and purposefully deceitful. I assumed this was a flag installed by a utility company to mark things underground. I never gave A Cut Above permission to advertise or solicit their services on my property.

Its hard to get workers to properly aerate a lawn. Good plugs down the middle, but the perimeter ignored. However, contractor has promised to rectify shortcomings.

I have relied on ACA for my sprinkler system needs for several years and their crews have always been great but a few years back they changed their office/scheduling staff or outsourced it and their office customer service has gone down hill. They did my sprinkler activation this year on April 20th and all went well but that was all scheduled online without office staff interaction. Since then I have been waiting on a quote to add a sprayer head to my system (actually requested the quote last year during a repair and discussed it again during activation this year, both times I was told they would send a quote) and have reached out several times via phone and email but still haven t received the quote. No reply at all to my last two emails. I have always been pleased with their quality of work and the operation staff in the past but at this point I feel like I m begging a company for their business. That s not really how it s supposed to work. I m not sure what changed at ACA but it s not for the good and for now I would recommend folks look to other companies in the area for landscape and irrigation needs.

Used them for many years and now they became the worst company ever to work with. Customer service is absolutely terrible, communication is even worst and Jason (owner) seems to be too busy and too important now to even respond to concerns from clients that helped him grown his business for years and years. I don t recommend them and will never use them again.

Missed many areas when mowing

Have been using ACA for a couple of years. They were highly rated and did good work. Last fall they did my irrigation system winterization and blew off several heads from too much air pressure. When the system was turned on this year I had several valves that were cracked from freezing and leaking badly flooding the valve boxes because the water was not blown out properly. Now I am unable to use my irrigation system. I called the office to have them come and repair their screwup. As stated in prior reviews all I received was resistance and deflection by the staff answering the phone. I have yet to receive a call back and it has been 1 week. This is unacceptable. Not much else to say other than the owner Jason Hoke has lost complete sight of the customer in his bid to expand. What was once a highly rated sought after landscape company is now a deceitful money grabbing entity who could GAS about anyone but themselves.The office people George Maria, and Monica are flat out liars. The reviews reveal a downfall that I never expected. Shame on you Jason Hoke.........

Sprinkler blowout

I used ACA to blow out my sprinklers and the whole process was very smooth and professional, from booking to completion. They were also super accommodating because I was called out of town suddenly so wasn t able to meet at the appointed time. But ACA came back the same day at a later time when I arranged to have a neighbor help out. Their website and text updates were all great too. I would def consider them in future for more services.

They also do snow removal which was the only service that we used so far, and they very responsive. They really focus on customer service.

I am using the residential snow removal service. Fist Denver snow, they arrived early, cleared the snow quickly, applied salt. Great job, plan to use thru March.

Prompt service

This is the second year I ve used ACA Landscape to do a fall cleanup of my back yard. Lots of pine needles, assorted leaves and a garden railroad to treat carefully. They do a fantastic job.

Gentlemen were here before 8 am and had my drive and walks cleared in no time!!!!!!!

Scheduled a fall cleaning and had to reschedule several times due to snow and equipment issues. But they were responsive and once we settled on a date that worked, they did a great job!

The communication here...amazing! I get a text and email when my service is done with the exact time. They answer the phone when you call and have a question...and then follow up with the answer! Super polite people. Nobody likes shoveling snow (which is why I found these peeps) but the response time is great. Recommend!

Update Nov 2021: Foreman and crew were great. I called ahead and let the phone person know I needed a large amount of fall cleanup. Was told to book the max, which I did. The crew couldnt come close to finishing the work, the truck wasnt appropriate to handle the amount of cleanup and one of the crew was a trainee. I was impressed by the crew, but not by the handling of the scope of work. This year it will cost me double to get my yard cleaned up because of this. Nice people, showed up on time and completed the work they were supposed to complete.
