They were supposed to come out Monday. A no show. They said they would come out Tues. Again a no show. It is Wed now. If they don't show up today, I will get another company and cancel my service with Lawn Starter for not doing their job.
I used this app because I was injured in a car accident and it was easy to schedule service in the app. The first service provider cancelled after I filled out the questionnaire about my yard, which isn’t a difficult yard to mow. The second service provider keeps rescheduling due to rain. It’s rained, sure, but not enough to prevent mowing the lawn. I think this is a setup to bill me a high grass fee even though I specifically scheduled this service before it was needed. Now, I have high unkept grass and am stuck figuring out how to deal with it. I highly recommend that you avoid this app so that you don’t end up in the same spot as me.
This company quoted me $47 over the phone. I initially informed them that the cost was outside of my budget and I have a small lawn (I rent and live in a duplex). I was told that if I shared my feedback I would be given a $20 credit to the initial cost, so I accepted the terms. They asked how long my grass was, and I told them to look at the submitted pictures. They asked about length, I told them I wasn’t sure, but at no point did they inform me that a long grass fee of an additional $47 was at risk of being applied. The individual who came out did a good job; however, when I downloaded their app and checked my cost, I was charged $104. When I called to dispute for lack of transparency, they informed me that the charge will stand. I will not be using this company again. While their app does outline the policy - I discovered - after having to search around the app a bit, the fact that this is not transparently discussed and readily available immediately upon reviewing the app is, frankly, a manipulative way of doing business. I’m sure I will now also be expected to continue with their 3 visit minimum. It’s taking advantage of customers, and as a single mother, I’m tired of companies doing business this way.
My yard looks very good. He did an excellent job of trimming around my flowers and bushes In my backyard. The back is sloped and has to be done by a push mower. It looks better than it did last season. Thank you for a job well done.
I had stopped using a lawn service several years ago because I never really satisfied with the work. As luck would have it, several out of town trips prompted me to look for someone to take care of the overgrowth and I found LawnStarter. With the exception of the very long intake call, the service has been top notch. My yard looks incredible and now I can't wait until Spring to have them re-do all of my planter beds in addition to the lawn care. 10/10 would recommend this service. Super affordable for even people on a tight budget, very friendly, and the work is exceptional.
The people who came to service my neighbor's lawn, burned my grass out cutting across my yard on a commercial size zero turn mower. I was able to get in contact with my neighbor and he gave me the info to file a claim. I took pictures, scheduled quotes; just to be told that the damaged areas would now not be repaired because it took too long to get the quotes... This happened in August 19th, 2023. I was not given any information on who to contact until August 21st, 2023, (the appointments for quotes were scheduled approximately 2 weeks apart) and was also advised that I would be attached to the neighbor's claim and not my own. Needless to say I'm not happy at all with this service especially when I wasn't even the paying customer. They just plowed and burned my grass out and no one cares to be responsible for it! Not to mention they never did a decent job in the neighbor's lawn!

If I could give less stars I would. Please do not pick this company. Patrick from Lawn Starters is the worst human being alive, said that I didn't care about my yard in the first place. Such a joke of a company. I called countless times and never got a response, emails too. Then for the $50 cut, bag and edging I wanted, I got this. They claim their was poor communication, because they won't talk to you. I got cited for grass clipping all over the street, THANKS LAWN STARTER. My husband is away on business for 20 days, I have a infant, I work 50 hours a week and I needed some help. Instead, I've been crying for hours because all my grass is now dead, I have a fine to pay and I have to fix this mess myself. I'm just trying to catch a break! I can't say enough terrible things about my experience. Chunks of grass where not cut. They missed stripes up and down my yard. I had 3 neighbors say "Laura is everything okay, your yard usually looks so good" I'm completely embarrassed to claim this as my home. They can't come fix this for 48 hours. Why would you want to leave this, it's a terrible look for your company. I really think my infant child could run a better company. You're a mess of a group. But S/O to Rachel for trying to help. You should go get a better job somewhere else girl.

I signed up on a Saturday and was given a Tuesday mowing window. I waited all week and nobody came to mow or replied to my message asking for an updated service time. I went with another service on the following Saturday and cancelled my account. But they are continuing to try to schedule service because they have a 3 cut minimum. Over promised and under delivered. Dont use them.

They were supposed to come out every two weeks. Of course every two weeks the grass is going to be a little bit higher. Its now been 3 weeks. The lawn crew keeps canceling. The weather was perfect over the weekend. And now Im having a hard time finding people to cut it because its so high. I have an HOA that will probably fine me soon. This is the worst experience Ive ever had with a lawn company. You cant speak to anyone directly. The only number I found says that theyre always closed. The first cut they didnt even get all of my lawn, they left a huge chunk in the corner untouched. One guy canceled on me because his son had a field trip. They dont use professional maintenance yard people. Do not use this company.
They never showed up for a mowing service that has been on the schedule; they kept messaging back and forth trying to crosssell and then just marked the mowing as complete with our grass still a foot long and charged us the fee. This is a clear scam. And their agent who was supposed to come to mow is now citing some random app issue but not responding to why she has marked the mowing falsely complete. We should have checked the rating before we went with them; anyone thinking of using them, BEWARE!!! They donot respond to messages, and puts you on a completely unresponsive support line !

A group went together and purchased lawn service for the rest of the year for a friend who lost her husband unexpectedly. The company was set to come a day before the funeral. They called to say then were on their way and then never showed up. I called 3x and was given a hard time and told they couldnt give me a time but only a date, the second time I called I was transfered several times and told they couldnt find the account at all. The next day they said they canceled for inclement weather. Which there wasnt any inclement weather. I think they were trying use the air quality as an excuse. Very unprofessional we canceled immediately and went with another company.
I have bi-weekly mows now that the grass isnt growing as long. Tell me why Im being charged for 18 long grass when its no where near that. When I message my mower, they will play stupid and act like they have no idea. When you talk to support they will act like 6 is 20-30 (Im not even exaggerating on that, Ive had them say that). $100 for less than 1000sf is theft. Do not use them.

They over charge. Lawn was grown for two weeks and they charged me an over grown fee only two weeks after I paid the overgrown fee the last time. I would not use them, you can find someone who does a better job for cheaper. They are not professional and don t do good work.

The people damaged my rain gutters downspouts and did not take responsibility for it. I had to repair it out of my own pocket. I requested services to stop and still had people show up when my lawn hasnt grown an inch and have been charged for it. I recommend looking elsewhere. These people arent professional.

I had scheduled service on my lawn for 5/3/22 - 5/4/22. It rained on 5/3 but not on 5/4 and there is no rain currently expected today or tomorrow - when I checked the app, the provider had changed my service to 5/6-5/9 without any notifications to me at all. My dogs have a dog door and I made it very clear when setting up my service that I need to be home for mowing to take place, and they did not even bother to confirm that these dates were available for me. I called and asked what was happening - they could not give me back the actual dates they had agreed to schedule me for and offered no apology or anything else - only to waive the high grass fee once I asked about it, since the rain yesterday would likely cause the grass to grow above the 6 requirement to avoid the fee by the time they would be able to fit me in. Very unprofessional company that does not care at all about keeping its commitments. Do not recommend.

So far i have had 4 no shows in a row even though they said they would be there that day. I even called their customer service line for information as to when the crew would be out to mow and was pretty much given the run around about a new crew. My neighbor and I both use this service and they are also in the same boat. My yard is not unusable. We did not have this issue last year but I guess this year they just dont care about keeping customers. I can not recommend this service. Find a better quality service for your yard needs.

Got my lawn mowed on Wednesday. Law starter (Daniel) dis a fantastic job and the lawn looks great. I had a lot of branches fall they picked them up and put them all in one spot for me.
Much to my dismay, I did not get any lawn care. Additionally, I do not expect further contact with Lawn Starter. Should I be contacted by them, or by anyone on their behalf, I will simply not reply but will delete the communication.
I have scheduled services since April 28th, it is now May 12th, and have NOT received service. They have cancelled and rescheduled every single time they were to come. Now they are saying are grass is too long and want to charge $300. They are JOKE.... Will never use this service.... Absolutely TRASH ....
Although LawnStarter s introductory offer was great, I ve had many problems with the business since. A few times I ve had instances where contractors are supposed to mow on a said day and they reschedule multiple times. After rescheduling multiple times, they ll charge a long-grass fee, which is often double the initial fee. My problem is that, this is an automatic service. I m not rescheduling theses dates and times. The contractors are. I just don t understand where the justification to charge an increased fee comes from in this case. The introductory offer got me in, but the quality of service plus the upcharges made me leave. Also, just FYI, there s a 3-mow minimum. They rely on your enrolling and then forgetting.
I ve used them for a few years now. Consistency is horrible. I ll get messages with reasons why my mowing is getting moved a few days then that landscaper will stop mowing the lawn. I have to wait a week for a new provider but who s mowing my lawn in the mean time? No one. Why pay for a weekly service that s not really weekly. It s more whenever they feel like showing up.

The work is sub par at best. They havent edged or trimmed once and havent mowed the entire yard. My yard looks like it has stripes because of all the missed strips of grass. Both times that Ive had them out I had to go back and re cut what they did. Low quality and overpriced.

I booked their services because they ran a special. That is how they rope you in. They sneak over and look at your yard and then say it will cost more. Completely unprofessional. Would not recommend unless you want to be scammed.
Went well for 2 months. I signed up for bi weekly service. The last service I was charged a 100% markup for long grass. Its absurd someone can sign up for a recommended plan and be charged double because the grass grew in a two week period. Also the measurement for long grass is completely subjective and based on pictures and somehow it can be a 50% to 100% markup...based on what? Would recommend cutting out the company and hiring directly with local folks.
Every time Ive gotten a mow (all summer bi-weekly) the mowers skip my front lawn, patchy cut job and grass along the sidewalks. Ive even had to contact customer service about this issue for EVERY mow... Ive been using them since April due to having a neck injury that doesnt allow me to cut my own grass anymore. Not everyone is able-bodied to cut their own grass and for EVERY time to be incomplete and uneven is ridiculous! And at $52 a mow?? I thought this was a professional service... Kwesi the mower had the worst attitude of any professional Ive ever dealt with. Had to show him what parts are grass and what parts are flowers... Ive asked for a refund for at least 1 or 2 of the mows out of many and customer service closes the ticket as completed. Dont get your services from them unless you want to be disappointed. I had to hire another company to fix THEIR MISTAKES! So friends beware.

I used the Lawn care service and I had one of the worst experience. The job was outsourced to a vendor and he mowed the lawn when it was damp and wet. There are tyre marks all over and the lawn look ugly. Every time, I call the customer care, they just apologize and they do not have an answer of when they would come and rectify the issue. I have called multiple times and sent them the pictures, but there is no response. very disappointing service with Lawn starters

Weve used them for a couple of months to mow a new build property. They are punctual and pay attention to their surroundings. We had a fiber line installed, but it hadnt been buried yet. I forgot to mention the new line was laying in the yard and came back in the evening, expecting the worst. They had moved the line, mowed around it, and moved it back. Couldnt ask for better service!

Awful service, constant no show on jobs then they tell me they will show up the next day and never do. One time they did half my yard and told me they would be back the next day, never showed up again. Always some excuse on why they need to push it out a day, a week, or 2 weeks. They still have not refunded me for not completed work that I was charged for. One of the least professional companies I have ever dealt with.

I hired this service when I had just moved into my home and didn t have a lawn mower yet. They continually rescheduled on me - not because of weather but because of crew availability When I complained and finally got someone to come out and do the work, they did a fine job. However, when it was time for my second service, same thing happened. Rescheduled. The date gets pushed out too far and I can t wait for a now that long, my yard will be out of control. Communication was not prompt when I complained about this issues. I have no idea why they assign a crew that is too busy to do the work, and then can t find a new crew when needed.

I made the mistake of not reading the reviews before booking this company for a biweekly mowing. After the first mow, I was pleased with the service. Once the 2 week mark had came and gone with zero communication, I decided to looking in the app to see if maybe there, I would find out a reason. I noticed I was rescheduled. Fine. No one showed again. I look again rescheduled. This time I reach out to there support team. I finally got a responsible and they mentioned a high volume which resulted in a delay in communication. I explained if i was to be rescheduled again I would just cancel. I was rescheduled again. I called. I was on hold forever but was given a option to hold my place in line and a call back when it was my turn. I never got that call. I emailed again to have it cancel. I was told again someone would be out and if not my service would be cancelled. I was also told the service would be on them. That night I got an email after 9pm from a crew member telling me, my service was yet again rescheduled. At that point I hired another company to come out( this was a Friday new company was scheduled for the mowing Monday) I left to leave town Saturday morning. While away I got text asking me to review the work. Then a couple of days later the company attemped to charge me for the service. I called. Same as before, long hold and then no call back. So I reached out to support again letting them know that the service was suppose to be on them as a previous email stated. I was told that the system will continue to try to charge for the service and there was nothing that could be done about it until its paid.( I stop all payments from there company so theyll be attempting to pull forever.) I wouldnt recommend this company at all. Very unprofessional business. Virtually no communication. ( However the mowing itself was great. I would give the person who cut the grass a 5)
This is a scam operation. There is no other way to describe it based on my experience and other reviews. I have been trying to get my service setup for a week now and continue to be rescheduled over and over again. I was charged on Tuesday for mowing that never happened (during torrential rains, no less). I have tried and tried to get things resolved but keep getting the runaround. The app shows different dates than the website, which are different than what customer service says. This is the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a company.
I mainly give review is someone is extremely good or extremely bad and this company is proving to be extremely bad. Lawn Starters is scheduled to come once every 2 weeks but it s been 4 weeks since they ve been here and they keep NOT showing up. They do not call you back or even care that we left them a messages informing them that because of their lack of service our grass is so long now that we could get a $100.00 citation from the city. If our schedules weren t so tight we would do our own lawn but it looks like we will have to hire someone else that is consistent and knows what they are doing. Next stop is to contact the Better Business Bureau, our friends that we referred and to cut ties with Lawn Starters.

I called a provider not associated with lawnstarter at 8:30am on 5/13/2021. My grass was cut by 12 noon. Do not use lawnstarter.
The customer service and reliability of this service is very poor. Not only have they rescheduled my appointment three different times in the last week, despite nice weather, today they claimed to have cut my grass, charged my credit card, and no one showed up to cut the grass. They are non responsive to complaints and make it almost impossible to talk to anyone in person. I would never recommend this service.

The lawn care providers cancelled often and no showed many times. Then my service was delayed because of it and they still charged me a tall grass fee! Once I messaged them it about it, it took DAYS for them to respond and then they refused to refund even though it was their fault. Overall, when without this, the service is terrible, the yard work is below average (usually mowers who don t take pride in their work), there s surprise fees and mowers cancel or no show very often. One time a mower no showed 4 times before just cancelling the project leaving me with no mower. I wouldn t recommend this app

Getting very frustrated We work 50 hours a week. Have 4 kids so we decided to hire a lawn service and landscaping. At first it was Monday, awesome! It rained no big deal so we got rescheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday. Tuesday rained...they rescheduled us for Saturday! We already have mile high grass this is horseshit. I message the company and no one ever responds. Im unsure what the heck to do other than wait because we do not have time to cut it! I have been trying to contact them every single day and have had NO response Update. It took a week to get a reply just to cancel my service. I do NOT recommend

I live in the city and have a small yard. I liked the option to communicate through an app with my lawn care provider and needed help with the lawn due to a back injury. Time and time again, I had a bad experience. They do the bare minimum to get the job done. Often neglecting to mow my full yard on the outside of my fence despite being kindly reminded before my service let alone ever edge like in the description of my service. Many times my crew just never showed up during the service time of 2-4 days. I kept giving them chances because I would have a new crew assigned to me after a bad experience and wanted to get established with someone good. I tried all summer. I recently cancelled my service after my latest crew told me they were on the way and then no showed. I was assigned a new crew that came out within a day. I explained the areas of my yard that have been an issue in the past. I unlocked my gates for the crew to mow. They stole my tools that I had out for another project. The company will take no responsibility. Mind you, I was home the whole time and saw the crew on my security cameras as the only people in my yard. The job wasn t even complete because they missed mowing my entire yard. Buyer beware.
Do not use this company unless you want to pay for services you do not receive. I used LawnStarter for over a year and set up regular mows / auto payments. I recently noticed that I had multiple lawn mowing charges IN JANUARY - when I called to ask them to refund $200-plus they rudely told me it was my responsibility to inform them within five days that I had been charged for services they did not provide. Absolutely absurd - exploitive and frankly unbelievable. After three phone exchanges I received a refund of $15.
Their lawn techs constantly cancel then come back after the grass has gotten to the point they have to charge you 3Xs the normal amount. They were great at first when I was using their services once a week, but once I cut back to 2 times a month they started cancelling all the time due to random reasons....inclement weather one day thats 65, partly cloudy that lightly drizzled in the early morning. Then comes back 2 weeks later with an outrageous price. Going with a new company from now on.

Let me save you the time and headache! Don t go with this company! I realized my account was put on hold over a month ago and called customer service. She apologized and said it was a glitch in the system. As a result, my grass was r cut for four weeks while they figured out what was going on. Then when a crew came out to cut it, they said it was too high for the regular fee and doubled the cost. When I called the customer support refusing to pay when it was due to their error in pausing my account that led to my grass growing so tall, they didn t reply. It s been a week. I ended up dialing extension 1 as if I was a new customer and they picked up immediately every time. Surprising how they re available to take money from people but unavailable to provide service for people who are already set up for an automatic pay. When someone finally called me back after 6 days, she said she couldn t help me and would escalate it. Mind you, someone else from sales from when I dialed extension #1 had escalated a week ago. Apparently a manager was going to call me back. That didn t happen. I even sent them screenshots of the automatic follow up email generated from lawn started that I had received from my initial call a month ago when I called to tell them my account was initially on hold. They emailed back apologizing but never did anything to help. They just apologized and said someone would follow up. It s been over a monthly since I called out this issue to them and nothing has been done. I have canceled my service. Let me save you the time and headache! Don t go with this company!!
I was given a special of $19 for the 1st cut and was billed $60. Was advised my grass was too high, when the person who cut it said it was not high to be charged a extra fee. My grass was not completely cut and the lawn person said they would come back an fix but never did. I gave 4 stars because I believed he would come back given his word but didnt. Im still waiting for someone follow up with me regarding my complaint.

I NEVER write negative reviews. I try to give companies and people the benefit of the doubt when performing services I am paying for, but honestly this is ridiculous. They were supposed to have a crew come out & mow our backyard ONLY on Monday. If due to inclement weather they would come on Tuesday. Understandable. Never came either day. It was then changed to Wednesday/Thursday. Here it is Thursday, and still no one. I called and asked why and they said it was due to an unexpected reason. Which would be fine if they hadnt already canceled 3 other times. 0 stars for this company.
We hired lawn starter because our grass had gotten out of control after our mower died. They made us sign up for a 3 cut minimum and made us pay a long grass fee on the first mow, both of which seemed totally reasonable. We were told a lawn care expert would come out for the first, extra pricey mow. A kid showed up with a mower hanging out the back of a sedan, not exactly a professional expert. He got through the grass but left it patchy and looking absolutely terrible, saying he did the best he could but it was too long for him. So the long grass fee doesn t actually pay for them to cut the long grass, it s just one way they clearly cheat people. The day for the second mow came around and we got notifications asking for feedback on the job done. What job? No one ever showed up but marked the service complete. I made sure to cancel the subscription at this point, even though we might have considered continuing. We were still locked in to the third cut, and what do ya know? No one showed up but marked the work complete again. They claim they re bringing lawn care into the 21st century with their app and online scheduling. Either none of those systems work correctly or they re just scamming people. This was a terrible experience. I would never hire this company again

I liked the idea of an app that outsources to a variety of locally-owned businesses and the $19 initial mowing fee was great. We explained over the phone there was a patch of grass over 12 and the rest of the lawn was 6. We had to commit to 3 mows after and pay extra for grass over 6, which was fair. However, the technician arrived, declared the entire lawn was over 12 and the fee went up to $120! Once the quote is received you either have to approve or decline. There is no option to text the lawn crew back to walk around the property with you, which is what I was trying to do so they would see the back of the property. I declined and immediately called the company but was told my account was now inactive and they would have to resend the bid which would delay the service. The gal wasnt very sympathetic or helpful and the updated pricing was more than quoted by other lawn services.

BObby is our guy that takes care of our lawn and he does an amazing job and takes less stress off my hands. Responds to text very quickly and listen to any of our concerns, very happy I went with this company to take care of my lawn.
They have charged my personal card TWICE even though I have updated the account with the correct card that should have been billed on the website and then on the phone this time. The representative denied stealing my money nor that they have an office at 52 E. Lane Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43201. They will let you recover costs ie changing my personal bank card to a totally different number so that this does not happen again. Lawnstarter wrote down my personal account number and did NOT put it in the computer and have changed it back TWICE. They take no responsibility for committing this crime, more than once and do not understand why I am upset.
Always on time, and very responsive about any schedule changes on either their end or mine. Lawn always looks good, and I appreciate them taking care of it for me.
Easy to use and on time
Christopher is very professional, with great communication and skilled lawn care. Christopher did a great job with our lawn maintenance and the yard always looked so nice! He was consistent and mowed the lawn to the frequency requested and was flexible when we had days the lawn couldn t be mowed. The edging was perfect. Never any property damage and all walk ways and surfaces were clear of any grass clippings.

Worst service ever keep canceling and rescheduling always saying their coming out and never showing up even got so bad that my wife and i who arent even in or new that we got fine by the state for not mowing all thanks to the spectacular service recived from lawnstarters
They set a 48 hour window and never showed up. I even called and the customer service rep stated that they could show up from sun up to sun down. They never showed up.
The app assigns lawn mowers very well and the mowers do a good job. You won t believe that there are mowers who do it like doing a professional turf.
Ive had a great experience with Lawnstarter. Lamont has shown up on the date that was promised. He has done a great job mowing both times. He also trimmed my bushes and they look better than they have in several years.
This is the second spring/summer season I have used Lawnstarter. The crew always shows up when they say they will. I asked for a new crew this year because I wasnt 100% thrilled with the job last years crew had done. Lawnstarter assigned a new crew and they are fantastic!

Excellent service. I did a Google search for lawn care in my area after my neighborhood lawn mower failed to show this spring. They charged me about what I was paying someone to mow my lawn. Never thought that an actual lawn care service would be just as cheap.

I initiated LawnStarter to cut my grass on June 21st. They didn t show up. I canceled my services with them. I ended up speaking with a rep and she talked me into giving them another try. So I did. In the meantime I had a friend cut my grass on June 30th because it was way too high. So the rep told me the next cut was going to be July 1st, I told her no I don t need it cut because it s already been cut. I scheduled it for July 12th. Well long story short. LawnStarter took a payment out of my account and said it was for the July 1st cut. I spoke with a rep yesterday and she lied and said that the technician cut my grass and had pictures. I told her he is lying and to look up the email communications between me and the company. I demanded to speak with a supervisor and she said none was available and proceeded to offer only partial of my money back. My experience with this company has been horrible! CROOKS!
I love cutting grass because of relax me the only thing I dont like is getting to someI lov and only getting a $28 payout and they be $60 $70 jobs.

I had called several local landscapers to come look a a couple of projects I had and was told theyd leave a quote, which i never got. These were top 3 Google search companies. Then I found LawnStarter . I received quotes immediately and Tyler has been great. He has shown up on time and has done a professional job mowing . I have other projects pending with him that include a spring clean-up , mulching and a mound removal that were all reasonably priced.
Terrible service & Zero follow-up. We scheduled the initial mow, just to see what it was and also scheduled the subsequent mow. The first time whoever was assigned didnt even show up and marked it as complete thus charging us. Then said well it didnt look high enough to cut. Obviously did not even see our lawn. Called and rescheduled, and again no one showed up and called LawnStarter and they had no clue what was going on or if the company was coming. So disappointed.
David and his team did an awesome job with mowing my lawn. I am so thankful that I found Lawnstarter, they are taking a huge load off my plate by taking care of my lawn. Pricing is reasonable as well.

I scheduled service and they missed the window for the service only sending a message saying we re not going to make it and have ignored all attempts to contact them since.
With the bad weather the season got off to a rocky start. Following my first mow the lawn looked great. Then tons of rain kept my service provider from getting back out in a timely manner. My lawn got really over grown. Every effort was made to get to my lawn ASAP. Once the weather allowed them to get caught up we are back on schedule and once again the lawn is looking great.

I wish I could leave 0 stars for no service at all. We have been waiting 3 days for lawn service; no crew has come. When I go onto the website, the scheduled service date keeps being postponed another day- now we have an ETA extended till Monday. I cannot get a response from LawnStarter- just goes to VM or I have the option to submit a comment on their website. This is our first time using them & we are trying to cancel. There is an auto-prompt that states we can cancel after three services. How can that be? We cant get any service! This would be a different review if LawnStarter would at least have the courtesy to communicate & provide some semblance of customer service. I would NOT recommend Lawnstarter to anyone!

I recently engaged LawnStarter to help mow my lawn. I was required to sign up for at least 3 services. The price quoted for service was very reasonable compared to other quotes! The first 2 services were by the same crew and they did a good job with the mow and trimming/edging. The 3rd service was scheduled for a Monday/Tuesday that week but was cancelled on Monday afternoon because I was told my crew was unavailable. A new crew was assigned to arrive Thursday or Friday that week, but didnt come until Saturday. At that point we were almost a week from when original service was scheduled for that week. That crew didnt do as good a job and my grass was uneven, patchy and not trimmed well. Based on the inconsistency with the service, I cancelled with LawnStarter and would prefer to deal with a lawn service directly. The service is a good idea but LawnStarter cant guarantee consistency and quality outside of the price paid for service.
If i could i wouldnt even give them one star. i sent them a msg to reschedule the first service and they showed up any way, the yard wasnt all that great after the mowing Ive seen a lot better, didnt even do the edging which was included in the pricing. Rescheduling service at the last minute without my approval. I Cancelled service completely, and told them i will call the police if they step on my property for trespassing this is how much I dislike this company. Do not hire this company, run as far as you can from them.
This is more a beware for contractors. My review is as a former contractor as of today. My one star is based off a few things I operate in Columbus,Ohio. I never spoke to anyone until today. Comunication is horiffic compared to other tech companys I use to suppliment my routes. I had a 4.31 star rating 89% on time rating with them so by far I am not perfect no one is. Top providers as of today is a 4.67 star rating with 85% on time rate. With the rain and neglect of yards we service I will say they have to have good contractors in this area. I serviced 5 yards where the custumers came out and told me to stop they have cancled service, so the time and work I did put in I did not get paid for. Today after the fith time I actually called guess what, I get told it is not on our computer which means it was cancled well it is on my schedule if it is there I will service it. But if it is off for them why would they not take it off mine, why I mentioned comunication is horrible. So with the guy I spoke with telling me it is my problem, and the pay is a joke for contractors. I made the decision to no longer service LawnStarter. This is my experience and Im sure if LawnStarter would have treated the conversation better I would have stayed with them just an apology would have been sufficent but to have this guy belittle me, I will not allow that. I will say when I called Customer service for consumers they were poliet and great but agian comunication is horrible or I would not have even had to search for a number to contact them. E-mails have never been awnsered that I have sent. So contractors be careful it is a great way to supplement your routes and I hope if you go with them your experience is better. They need to fix communications badly. Also I can only speak for the one gentelman I talked to but deffinetly he needs training.
If you want reliability and your lawn done right everytime then these are the right people. No more random unreliable guys doing my lawn again . And they even have an app so i can reschedule appointments .

People of Columbus save your money. This company is the worse Ive ever dealt with, they literally reschedule on us 4 times now and when they do come by they only cut half my lawn. When i called and told them about the unfinished work they still charged me and said they would come the next day. Its been 3 weeks now and my lawn looks like i live in the African Safari. So today theyve rescheduled again and saying theyll come in tomorrow. Now if im paying $54 for my grass to be cut i expect the whole thing to be done. Nope they honestly dont care, they still charged me for the undone work and want to keep Rescheduling on me. If it was up to me i wouldnt give them any stars smh. If your in a jam and dont have a lawn mower like me please find another company to do your work. This company is literally the definition of highway robbery.
This is the second time that I have used this company and I am truly grateful for the great service. I spoke with someone when I first signed up and his customer service skills were great! Ive had no problems with them coming when they say they are. All around they are great!
Great service and appreciate the communication. I recently changed from a previous company who just stopped showing up, would not return my calls and my yard went for several weeks without being cut. Tim was able to fit my yard in that first week and it has never looked better. Since switching, I have had nothing but positive feedback and wish I would have changed sooner!

First time home owners with a yard to mow ,big or small, need time to adjust to the inevitable fact mowing will be part of the home owners duties. I am no different and this is were Lawnstarter came in as a blessing. From the point of registration through scheduling it was all handled well by the lawnstarter team. Another notable feature is the lawnstarter mobile App, which keeps u updated with notifications and status on scheduled visits. The lawn starter certified mowing companies who come are thoroughly professional. Its been a good experience so far with Lawnstarter and hope it continues.

I recently signed up with LawnStarter for routine lawn work. So far, Andrew has done a nice job and leaves the sidewalk & driveway clear of clippings. They let me know when theyre coming, and then actually show up that day. I requested service every two weeks, but theyll come weekly if necessary. The app makes it easy to schedule/re-schedule routine lawn service or to add on other jobs like brush removal.

Yeah, no. Three stars bc the experience started well, but then devolved really quickly once I reactivated my account. I signed up for service when our mower broke and our tiny back yard was starting to get raggedy, had one good mow (with no upcharges even though the grass was pretty deep), then 2 weeks later the guy did someone elses lawn and charged me for it, which sucked. LS got me a new team for my last mow (you have to sign up for a minimum of 3 mows), and I appreciated that. I then discontinued my service because our mower was fixed by then, but reactivated a couple of weeks ago because we were going on an extended trip and didnt want to let the grass get too long. Then the BS happened. BUYER BEWARE. When you sign up, they inform you that if the grass is long (and the guy even used 9 inches as a concrete example) in most of the area to be mowed (that means more than 50% of the property to be serviced, in my opinion), you can be charged 50-100% more because it takes longer for the service. I get that. HOWEVER, my front yard was already mowed less than a week before we left, and the back wasnt, but it was definitely not in an unreasonable state. I just got my receipt for the 100% extra I apparently needed to pay for less than a third of my lawn being slightly long. If the guy was on my property more than 20 minutes (I was at home for the first 3 services, so I know how long it takes for someone to do the job), Id fall over in shock. There is little consistency between lawn techs, Customer Service is not very helpful, you have NO say if theres a discrepancy between what the lawn guy is saying and what you have to say about your property, and I think people should know what theyre getting into before they give payment info (which you cannot remove from your own profile, btw) to a company like this. Pay the neighbors kid. He/she wont charge you $80 to mow less than a fifth of an acre (the ENTIRE propery is 0.198 acres, and the house takes up most of it) like these people will. [Update: after complaining to Customer Service, I was informed by email that I knew about the upcharge policy when I signed up. I replied to them with my thoughts on the matter, and also posted this review, and I today I was given a 50% refund on the overgrown grass fee I was charged. So, overall decent company and idea, but youll get greedy lawn techs occasionally, you have to throw a fit to get CS to listen, and they keep your payment info on file, even when you discontinue your service. Do with that information what you will. Upgraded from 2 stars to 3 for partially providing satisfactory service.]

Simple and easy way to find quality and competitive lawn care service. I was paying 20% more with a large contract service and these guys results are just as good.
The price was comparable, or even less than other services. The ease of setting the service up was great. Just did it online, they sent me an email with the name of my lawn care person and within 4 days my lawn was mowed. Andrew did a fine job. I had the second mow this week and it looks great. .There is also an app and it looks like I can easily communicate with Lawnstarter if I have anything I want to add to the service, change mowing dates or whatever. Also, when I had other local companies mowing their guys who probably changed frequently damaged my fence, my mailbox post and consistently would leave my gate open no matter how many times I told them I had a dog and this was a big problem. I dont expect any of these problems having the same mower from Lawnstarter that appears to take pride in his work.

Chad has been the crew member that has done my mowing. He gave me a very good quote on my services. His very first mow for my property was a challenge to say the VERY least. However, he took it on without hesitation or reserve, and got the job done beautifully. He even got rained on in the process ,but finished the job nonetheless. He is excellent with communication, which I appreciate to the fullest. I look forward for working with him through out the remainder of the mowing season.

Was overwhelmed with yardwork and no time to get to it. Signed up online with LawnStarter and scheduled my first service, mowing and trimming/edging. They did a great job, left everything clean. I paid (& tipped) online and just had them out for a second service as well as hedge trimming. Another great job - very happy so far and now the yard work isn t looming over me!!!
Do not waste your money on this company. They are scammers. They delayed for weeks and when they did finally show, they brought too large a mower and couldnt get to my back yard. So they left and took a couple more weeks. They still charged me even though they didnt cut my yard! They marked the job complete and they charged me. If there was a zero star, thats what they deserve.
My husband and I are absolutely thrilled with the service that Chris and his team provide. We really couldn t be happier!
