Norm Pitzer did a great job with our project. Our yard had cratered in spots after a tree removal with roots decaying over time. We assumed it probably had to be torn up, but Norm had a much simpler solution and put down new dirt and seed. Its been about 6 weeks now and the yard is looking great again. But he also went above and beyond and recommened we get our front walkway leveled before he started as this would provide an even better grading. And he gave us the name of the concrete company to do it and they were also great and did it for quite a bit less than I would have expected. Thanks Norm!

I reached out to Pitzer Landscaping for an estimate on a full front lawn and flower bed installation on my 65 year old home. Previously there was a very large Silver maple tree in the front yard that literally ruined everything as I felt hopeless for ever having a beautiful level yard because of all the damage the huge tree had caused over the years. I had the tree removed a year before I contacted Norm to see what he thought about transforming the huge mess that I had on my hands as the root system had invaded the entire area. After his consultation I decided to go with his plan and Norm along with his crew started on what I thought was almost an impossibility of the transformation. After several days of work the new yard and flower beds were installed and the entire property looked completely different from a week ago. More than anything was his attention to detail on all aspects especially not any running heavy equipment on the new driveway to keep from cracking. After the installation was finished Norm gave me very detailed instructions on watering the entire area and his follow up included several phone calls to make sure I was doing my part to get the grass to come up in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Pitzer Landscaping if you want it done right the first time. No short cuts were taken and only quality products were professionally installed. 10 out of 10!

I hired them to build up the area around the house. They were able to come out quickly and did the job in a very fast manner. They even found an issue w/ the drain on the sump pump (connection issue) I hadnt noticed that I need to take care of. Thankful for that as that could lead to some damage to the foundation. A quick trip to Lowes for me saved $ down the road.

We had a pool installed last fall and contacted Norm to replace the entire lawn this spring. Our lot is on a slope with a complex grade and he provided a quote to put in 100 tons of topsoil, seed and fertilizer. When we initially built our home 1 1/2 years ago, sod was put down over rocks and a hard clay soil and most of the sod was dead by the fall. Norm followed-up several times in the winter just to stay on top of it as we were also having some additional work done prior to the lawn being installed. Norm just completed the job and it looks fantastic. Rich brown topsoil, not shredded mulch or soil clumps, which some companies use as topsoil. And he made sure there was plenty of seed and fertilizer, so the grass will grow thick. Overall, he was on top of the process, explained why he was doing things a certain way and the value is definitely there.

I have a 100 year old house, so I also have a 100 year old lawn. Ive maintained it for the last 30 years, but lately it was just not doing well. I tried filling in areas with topsoil and seeding, but it just would not take. It needed a major overhaul, so I started calling for estimates. Most contractors told me what they were going to do, which involved killing everything and putting in one type of grass. I enjoy the violets, plantain, wild strawberry and everything else in addition to the grass, so I mentioned was concerned about keeping these. I was basically told by everyone that they didnt work that way, and that Id get things the way they wanted. Norm Pitzer was the only contractor who actually listened to what I wanted. He worked things out to where about 70% of the original plants would come through. He and his crew got things done quickly, covering the yard with the planting mix, then seeding over top. Norm left complete instructions, and even a sprinkler. This really shows how he was thinking about what I needed before I even knew I needed it. A month later, the yard looks great. The new grass has taken, and true to his word, all the other plants came through, looking bigger and better than ever. This also included the dandylions, but one good weeding session took care of them. The only downside is now I have more grass to cut, Ha-Ha. I would not hesitate to recommend Norm to anyone interested in improving their lawn and landscaping.

We needed some grading, filling, and new grass after some utility work that left our yard a mess. We reached out to Pitzers after reading their reviews and I m glad we did. Norm was responsive and did a great job. Communication was great and for what we needed, his pricing was very reasonable! Our yard is smaller, but they were very quick and thorough as they worked. Would definitely use them again!

I needed an area graded and filled where an above ground pool was left from previous owners. Norm was beyond professional, responsive and knowledgeable about the work to be done. And because of the weather and scheduling he was more than accommodating with scheduling to get the job done. I highly recommend Pitzer s for any job that you need.

Pitzers Landscaping is the best!! Mr Pitzer (Norm) and his crew saved my yard after extensive foundation work was done on my house. They graded, replaced topsoil, seeded, created a new mulched bed with dogwood, hydrangea, & boxwoods, and set up a temporary sprinkler system. Mr. Pitzer was great to work with. Excellent communication and great explanations about what he was recommending and why. Very easy to work with and coordinate with as his work had to be timed after foundation and drain work. He also took it upon himself to do one portion of the project early to minimize the time Id be without central AC...so appreciated!! Since project completion, Mr. Pitzer has checked on the landscaping several times and done phone follow-ups to field any questions and share information about how I can maintain the work thats been done. Cant say enough great things about working with Pitzers! The whole experience was extremely positive and I also feel that I got a very good value for the amount of work and care that was provided. Norm is the best! Hes prompt and reliable and equally as important, he was honest and straightforward about what went wrong with our lawn and landscaping. Norm, the owner, was a found gemstone. He addressed all the issues of my lawn and landscaping needs in a timely and professional manner. Basically he did a makeover while keeping it simple, looking very nice, and a big improvement. I am in agreement with all the other 5 star reviews. You are very lucky now a days to find someone who will answer your call, show up, and complete the job without a problem. I look forward to seeing my new lawn grow in.

I cannot say enough great things about this company. Norm, the owner, supervised the entire project in the fall of 2020. He is enthusiastic, energetic, knowledgeable, conscientious, and thorough. He followed up in the weeks after the grass was planted to make sure everything went according to plan and said he will return in the spring to do any reseeding if needed. They started by covering the lawn in high quality soil in which to replant the grass. They also suggested ways to reconfigure the lawn to avoid trying to grow grass in shady areas and artfully mulched the areas where grass would have a hard time growing. The grass grew in beautifully....so bright green and luscious! I could hardly believe it was my lawn! It was incumbent on me to water the lawn regularly after the planting, but that was an easy habit to get into. I couldnt be more pleased!

Had a great experience with Norm and his company! My lawn, after 20 years, had been eroding and looked awful. Norm put quality topsoil over the entire yard to bring it back up to a normal grade and seeded it...all in half a day. He was very helpful with explaining exactly what he was doing and why. He also gave us a detailed list of the maintenance we needed to do to help the lawn grow and followed up with phone calls as reminders. Cant say enough about Norm and his work!

Norm is the best grader in the Columbus area by a long shot imo. I had a water problem that required grading and I quoted it with four other companies I saw near the top on my Google search. All of the companies were reputable but its pretty clear from talking to Norm that he has more knowledge and pride in this space than anyone Ive met. He was ten times more detailed and hands-on than any other contractor. Some companies asked me to send them a picture of the area and they would send a quote. Norm was out there digging in the dirt to get a better look at my chimney during the quote by comparison. He also came by the day before to take another look at the site before doing the job which I thought was impressive. The work itself was excellent too. Hes as good as it gets in this space imo.

Norm, the company s owner, is a true professional. He is punctual, honest, experienced and extremely knowledgeable A large tree had been removed from our front yard. We needed ideas on how to fill in this area and what to do with the rest of our front, back, and side yard. We were open to suggestions and welcomed Norm s input. He presented us with options and thoroughly explained each one. We agreed to a plan that Norm and his crew executed perfectly. Their work ethic was impressive. Norm jumped right in and worked alongside his crew. He communicated with us every step of the way. Norm uses the highest quality products available for each phase of the project. My lawn had been overtaken by wild violet weed that even a professional lawn care company could not control. Norm came in and recommended a complete lawn replacement. He applied a herbicide to kill off the existing lawn, then applied a layer of high-quality topsoil and a heavy application of grass seed. Three weeks later I had a lawn that gained compliments every time I was out caring for it. The grass came in thick and plush and should look good for years to come. Im very satisfied with Norms work and his knowledgeable advice on how to best promote the growth of my new lawn

Norman and his crew did a fantastic job leveling and seeding our yard. Norman has always been communicative, punctual, and has made sure any of our concerns were dealt with. He came out after two big rains that catered the yard and dispersed the grass seed and cleaned it back up both times. The grass is coming in beautifully and we love our backyard. He also had some ideas we hadnt thought of for the yard which we went with and look great. Other neighbors have even been commenting on how nice it looks. Thank you!

I called Norm for an estimate. He was prompt, returned my call right away and came out to give us an estimate. He followed through with the job, keeping us updated on materials and even stopped by to make sure we didn t have any questions. Norm and his crew came out and laid approximately 16 tons of soil, put grass seed on it and laid some river rock for us. They were quick, cleaned up all unused materials and it looks great. I would highly recommend this small business.

We can highly recommend this Landscaping company. It is a family owned small business. We were fortunate enough to contact them to install sod and some seeding on our small Victorian village lot. They showed up on time and completed the job in three days. The quality of the work is excellent and they used the best quality soil and sod. Norm, the owner, is extremely personable and helpful. He found us the best sprinkler to use for watering and was very thorough on instructions to ensure the sod will take root.WeI can highly recommend this company for any lawn and landscaping work.

We needed to regrade an area next to the house that always flooded and caused leaks in the basement. Pitzer Landscaping responded very quickly to our posting. Norm is very experienced and creative and proposed a plan to solve our problem. He was able to begin the project within a week. His crew started promptly as scheduled, and was able to get all the materials for this project. The result was effective in improving the drainage as well as looking great. We felt like we had a brand new front yard!

I called to get an estimate and he said he would come by on Saturday. He never came and did not call. I tried calling several times with no answer.

Norman Pitzer was very responsive to our request for an estimate and scheduled the job precisely when promised. He answered all of our questions and provided very good advice on what was needed in our yard. They just completed a re-sodding job in our backyard which was very difficult to do because of multiple stepping stones throughout. Norman and his crew did a great job! We plan to use them for a reseeding project in our front yard next fall.

Pitzer Landscape is incredible! Called several companies with no or little response. Norm responded and was professional and so knowledgeable. We knew we needed a total restoration. All other contacts just wanted to sell us a plan to fertilize our mossy yard and lack of soil. These guys care and they do not skimp. We had a wonderful experience with Norm and his team. Pitzer s was one of the few companies that responded in a timely fashion to our call (we are finding that s a rarity!) and scheduled the work very shortly after. We were impressed with the professionalism & quality of work as well as the speediness. Norm assured us prior to and during that he would not ruin our yard and he was accurate. All dirt laid to properly grade our yard was done by hand! We had most of our yard covered with new dirt and Norm and his team did a fantastic job on the initial laying of dirt and seed. He also came back several weeks later to check on how the new grass was coming in, and laid more seed in the places that needed it. It was above and beyond! We highly recommend!

Pitzers did an excellent job on our backyard. We have tried several different ways to get better grass coverage and none worked. Norm was very straight forward and factual about what was needed. He got us on the schedule quickly and executed the job well. They placed down new top soil and heavily seeded the entire yard as well as a trouble area in the side yard. Everything came in great and he supported us by throwing down additional seed as needed. We would definitely recommend Pitzers Landscaping.

Norm is such a pleasure to work with.. Hes very knowledgeable about lawn renovation, is a straight shooter who does what he says hes gonna do and is very efficient at getting it done on time and budget. He and his crew were prompt to the job site, courteous, and hardworking .. They actually went above and beyond the scope of the job to get it right. Norm was concerned about causing any lawn damage to the parts of my yard he wasnt working on, and went out of his way to see that no extra damage occurred. They cleaned up immediately after the job was complete, and followed up by phone with me the next day, to discuss anything I may have concerns about.. He has encouraged me to call him to discuss any watering issues, or with other questions about after care of the newly seeded lawn. I have had a couple of questions and he has gotten back with me immediately to handle any issues. If I have any similar jobs of this nature in the future, Im not calling anyone but Norm !!

If you want it done right, Pitzers Landscaping is the company to hire. We needed our backyard regraded to solve a problem with standing water and uneveness of the ground. We met with Norm and it was quickly apparent that he knew exactly how to do the job right and he was able to get the job done very quickly. Now, several weeks later our new yard is looking great and a heavy rain has shown us that the drainage problem has been solved. We couldnt be happier with the process or the outcome - enthusiastically recommended!

We built a new home in New Albany and had a bad experience with our seed lawn installation in the back. Norman Pitzer and his crew came in and completely re-installed the entire back lawn. They did such a thorough job preparing the property and the lawn is already coming in nicely. He really cares about the end result. I highly recommend this company if you want the job done right.

Norm Pitzers is the best landscaping business we have ever used, bar none. Reliable, critical thinker who can figure out what is needed/where, informing us every step of the way. We learned a lot. He replaced our entire front lawn which was damaged by construction and tree roots. He was our second estimate and did twice as much work for not much more money. He showed up when he said he would and worked long hours to get everything right. Used best top soil mixed with manure and fertilizer. Best mixture of grass seed for the lawn, hand raked in. No cutting corners. Set up for tripods for watering (large yard) and checked to make sure they were properly placed by watching the water, given the breeze. Came back the next day to be sure of placement of the tripods. Came back at 2-week mark to check growth and laid more grass seed where needed (deer had walked through). Called to tell us not to water for the number of days that rain was coming, just let mother nature do the watering. Will return to keep checking that the lawn gets well. established. Knowledgeable, communicative, efficient. They cleared out everything in my yard. Leveled it, then put in sod. It looks wonderful and he has been extremely helpful with following up with questions after the fact. Could not recommend them more.

Rawlings does not perform the lawn services we were seeking. However, they responded quickly in letting us know and were very professional. I will keep this company in mind for additional services we are considering later. Very Professional and courteous.
