LawnStarter Lawn Care is dependable and does a good job. Its easy to communicate with them and their app keeps you in touch.

They are complete crooks nobody should ever consider working for lawn starter they made me return to a job because the customer didnt unlock there gate the first time I went and threatened to pull my pay if I didnt return whos going to pay for the second trip ? Not lawn starter and not the customer,,,no such thing as a tip!!!!!

I have used this company for several years. They are very reasonable, consistent, reliable and always go a phenomenal job.

This company put branches in the street and it is difficult to drive pass the branches. When I reached out about the issue, they didnt seem to care and have not corrected this situation that they caused.

This is unacceptable! You dont even know Im no longer a client

I have been living in my current home for 25 years. I have always done my own lawn care, but due to a recent back injury, I am no longer able. I figured I would give Lawnstarter a try and I am really glad that I did. They did a fantastic job and this was my first mow and was only 19 bucks. Ryan is really friendly and professional and I could not have been more pleased. I have some bush trimming services scheduled and will post a review after that is completed.

The services performed have been awesome. The team is responsive and when I had an issue with a missed service it was taken care of. We are very pleased with the work Kenneth and his team have done thus far.

Our lawn always looks great after Kevin is finished. We are very pleased with the services we receive.

Worst customer service ever! I hired LawnStarter towards the end of last year. We only had another month or so of hot weather. The crew came out and did an amazing job and made my yard look awesome. I ended up putting my account on a seasonal hold because the weather got cold and the grass wasn t growing. A few days ago was the first grass cut after seasonal hold. The guy came out and once again did a great job of cutting the grass, only this time he blew all of the leaves into a huge pile in the middle of my lawn and left it. It literally looked like it was placed there on purpose of being flat out lazy. I reported the issue and was told they would be out the next day to fix it. They never came. I called and the woman said they sent me an email stating they would not be coming back out because I did not order leaf removal. However the crew I had before never left the leaves in a huge pile. I told them there was no need to leave them in a pile. I wasn t looking for a leaf removal but the lawnmower itself should have picked up the leaves. They tried to charge me even more to fix the problem and was no help. I told them that I did not feel I should have paid for this because it was horrible service but they told me they could not cancel my service until I paid. I finally got them to discount my price and my husband and I had to take care of the pile ourselves. Worst customer service ever! Take your money elsewhere. These people will screw you big time!

This company is very unprofessional. I hired this company after reading their reviews, thinking they were a very good company to work with, their website looked great as well as what they offered. After agreeing to do a contract with them for weekly cutting they never showed up for the first cut. After calling them after days later a very nice person answered the phone and convinced me to allow them to send another person out.. two weeks later, even though it was much longer than promised I agreed. After waiting much longer and hopping they would show, however they never did. I finally hired another company and had grass cut, and looks great. Lawnstarter finally sent a person out 6/1/2022 to cut grass over three weeks after initially promised, I went on line again to cancel my contract and to add insult to injury they are mandating that I let them cut my grass three more times before contract can be ended........ Extremely poor service, and rip off techniques. I am so disappointed Cedric

On two occasions received notification that services were completed and they were not. Any communication was through their app which also seemed unprofessional especially after multiple reports that a job was not done. When I canceled the reps tone on the phone was almost like I was causing her an inconvenience. On top of all of this, here it is 2 weeks later and I was now charged $215.39 for services that were never done and according to them the disputes that I submitted didn t matter and because it is after 5 days from the date the services were marked completed they cannot do anything. Unfortunately for them, I am able to do more than enough to get my funds back .Please do not use this service!!! It is a ripoff of your hard earned money

This company address in Columbia SC is out of a student housing apartment complex. After calling the complex, they informed me no business operated out of the unit. Please research for yourself before hiring.

If I could give negative stars I would We gave lawnstarter a chance for over 3 months and had one of the worst experiences that I ve had with any service. Consistently crews would be assigned to our house (small front yard only, easy mow) and then we wouldn t hear from them and they wouldn t show up or would mark they completed the job when nobody came by. I spent hours on the phone with customer service with no help and just being told that they would send another without any guarantee they would show and was told one of the crews wasn t trained properly (unfortunate, but not my problem as a paying customer). I asked to speak to a supervisor many times and was told that they probably would not call me back because they are busy . We incurred fines by our HOA for our grass and yard being too long and out of control. The last straw was there was a month without any service or anyone actually showing concern or resolution to the problem. We just moved to this house and I m 34 weeks pregnant so mowing the lawn at the moment ourselves was not an option. I cancelled service but am still waiting to receive a refund as I don t believe that I should be paying for services I did not receive. Perhaps they are different and more professional in other areas, but I would STRONGLY recommend AGAINST ever using this pitiful service as it seemed more of a scam than an actual business.

I wish i could give 0 stars, first attempt I had a appointment set up, time came & went noone showed up not even a call. Next day someone else was assigned my lawn. Guy showed up, did not cut the grass and lied about grass being more then 6. I was left with a uncut lawn and my account was charge. I contacted customer ssevice and its his qord against mine, was told i can not get a refund. Will ne disputing with my card company. Never again

This is the first time in my life I have ever felt COMPELLED to write a negative review, to hopefully spare someone else the displeasure I went through. I booked with LS on 9-7, and when speaking with their associate, I told her that this is a *time-sensitive job*. May I ask why and how you normally do your lawn? Sure, I said, I normally do it myself, but Im having equipment issues and have an important event this coming Saturday (9-10) - is your company able to do this job by this coming Saturday? I was assured by her that they would be able to do the job by Saturday. I downloaded their app, I messaged the crew member to touch base with them and relayed that I needed this job done (and was promised by LSs representative) by Saturday. I notice that my service on the app has been delayed estimated Sept 11th-13th so I requested an appointment change to before Sat 10th, and whats really damning is that I saw a confirmation that your crew member has accepted your schedule change. Its been two weeks now and they havent shown up. The best part is, the crew member sent me some automated message three times the past week rescheduled due to Personal Problem. At this point I am beyond incredulous, Lawnstarter should be embarrassed to call themselves professionals.

Lawn looks immaculate always when serviced. Yard work. Huge job in my backyard and it was left looking like paradise. I am still in Awe. Nice view now. I really appreciate lawnstarter!

I made an appointment for someone to come and do my yard between Monday and Tuesday know one ever showed up . Someone did txt me and said the truck broke down and they will be over Wednesday, never showed up. Know body ever got in touche with me or send a txt or nothing. I cancelled this Lawn Service because of extremely poor scheduling, uncompleted yard work in my not requested backyard and no live customer service. I cancelled 4 days prior to the starting date because the service date kept changing and my yard was so severely OVERGROWN that I considered renting a goat! After receiving a cancellation email the same day I cancelled on the website/app some man showed up at my home unannounced on a Monday afternoon and let himself in my back yard with a weed wacker and went to work, didnt finish and woke me up. The downside is I never requested my backyard be serviced because Im disabled, theres no grass only weeds and I never go out there! I requested my front yard when I signed up for this Lawn Service but they were so unreliable I hired another lawn Service company who had completed my front yard and trimmed my bushes 2 days prior. My question is: If the grass cutter saw that the job he was sent to do was already done why didnt he call the company or ring my doorbell? As someone who worked in Customer Service over 20 years I expected better.

I ve been using this company since spring of 2020, I ve had so many inconsistencies with them. Currently I ve been waiting since April 5th for a cut I ve been rescheduled 4 times. I still have not heard anything as to when someone will actually come to cut the yard. I get apologies and a promise someone will come. They just sent a kid with a push lawn lower to cut an acre. He took one look at the yard packed up and drove off. I don t understand the professional crews they have hired.

I was a first time customer and I have been rescheduled 3 times never had anybody show up , bad communications . Terrible customer service most of the time nobody answer the phone . Very pricey, I was being charged almost 200 dollars and it s not worth it to spend money on a company who obviously don t seem like they care . Wouldn t recommend to anybody trust me save your money and time!

Update: I am updating my review to report that I did receive my full refund, after my Google review was seen by one of the company s Experience Specialist; Kat Kennedy. She apologized for my experience on behalf of the company and followed up with me throughout the remainder of the process to ensure that I encountered no additional problems or delays in receiving my refund. First post: I felt comfortable trying this company because of the 5-star rating listed once under one of their listings. I m just noticing the listing for 4.2. I was surprised to see that the company sent one woman with a push mower to handle my medium to large yard. This individual spent half of the time on her phone in her truck and listed the job as complete after only mowing the front yard. She rescheduled her return to finish the job twice explaining that her truck broke down. Because of the two rescheduled returns, I canceled the job; however, the company charged me twice the amount for half the job, labeling it a long-grass fee. I have since reached out to the company on three occasions, and on three occasions was told that my dispute would be escalated and I would receive a call from the supervisors. I eventually had to reach out to my bank to address the charges, as no supervisor ever returned my call.

I tried LawnStarter because I saw a neighbor sharing a $19 discount and I figured, why not. Our grass grows back really fast and maintaining it in this heat can get tough. So we wanted a little help bi-weekly. On their website, and on the app, when I ordered the service, it literally reads that the mowing service includes edging along driveways/walkways. The guy came to mow yesterday and did not do any edging at all. Then I get a message on the app that hes trying to charge me an additional $42 for edging and to approve of it. So I called customer service, the representative was very nice. He told me that hard edging was not included despite the description on their website and it not being mentioned as a separate fee. He said its considered an additional service which is why its not mentioned as a fee on the site, but meanwhile, their mowing service says it includes it. Its all very misleading. The rep also claimed that hard edging was a separate service because they dont always have the equipment because thats landscaping - meanwhile I look outside and check my security cameras... Guy came and did the edging. What? I turned it down the message on the app asking me to approve the additional fee for edging. It doesnt make sense. Guy doesnt do the edging. Then tries to charge an additional fee, and then goes and does the job without my consent/approval? Same guy that the rep claims didnt have the equipment in the first place? I cancelled my services right away. Will not be using this company again. As for the mowing itself, it was all right. Missed a few small spots, but for the most part, that was fine. Just the transparency about their fees/services and how they went ahead and edged anyway - it was just too shady. Id rather hire someone who is honest about their fees, what it all includes etc.

Scheduled to come between Tuesday and Wednesday Did not show up. Several attempts to contact person scheduled. Company was called several times and attempted to leave message with assigned company to message me. Heard nothing back and Lawn Starters representatives offered no solution and were rude on phone. Do not do business with this company. I received no message they were not coming or to reschedule. . They is no support or communication with Lawn Starters. I will cancel my services with them and better not be charged for service I didn t get.

Do not go on their site or click anything! I was looking around at different quotes and didnt even hit the submit button but somehow Im telling them over and over again to stop contacting me because its harassment at this point.

Poor job. Grass left everywhere. No clean up. Did not even try to come back after 2 days. Even company saw pictures and said he did not have right tools. But it was my 3 rd one so I cancelled all services. First 2 service crew said they added long grass fee because company was not paying them enough. It should not have to be this hard to get good service.

Just Don t do it. Poor service and horrible job at mowing our lawn .They are not consistent with there mowing. This week they may show up and your lucky if they show up the next. I ll just be nice and leave it at that. I could go on like the others here who have had a bad experience but I won t.

I would like to express my complete and utter shock at the lack of costumer service I have received from LawnStarter. The services I have received were woefully inadequate. Due to significant lack of communication, my back yard was not completed, and was later informed that my services would not be completed after I was informed the service provider would return later that day. Their customer service is horrendous and I would not recommend using LawnStarter for your landscaping needs.

Nicholas Murphy has rescheduled my service several times because he was trying to switch his route in order to save himself time. He was supposed to finally come today. I messaged him this morning to see what time he was planning on being here and he never responded and never showed up.

They did a great job! I was very hesitant to try this service. It seem too good to be true. Everything has been exactly as explained.

I m extremely dissatisfied with LawnStarter s service. The lawn crew came out and looked at my lawn on the day of service. Left without updating me but later sent a message stating that they didn t have the proper tools to complete the job which is one of the reasons I initially asked prior to them coming out. They rescheduled for a later date and a MUCH higher price than what was initially agreed upon,which to my understanding was for the full service but was later notified that it was just for cleanups only. I then rescheduled for a later date so I would be home to discuss the services that needed to be done prior to any work being completed. The NEW date of service was confirmed by LawnStarter. They still came out to my residence and completed partial service (cleanups) prior to the rescheduled date if service, and on the day if service sent an email stating that my service would be skipped BC it wasn t needed. I called in to customer service and explained to them that the crew came out prior to scheduled date, completed Partial services and that I would not be paying for partial services and requested a supervisor. I was left on hold for an extended period of time only to be told no one was available and they d call me back. I requested that my card not be charged until I spoke with a supervisor to get the issue resolved and full services were complete. A supervisor still has not reached out yet but of course my card has been charged. I ll definitely be disputing this transaction with my bank!!

Have tried to get in touch multiple times with no call backs to reschedule. They say they charge one amount and charge another. Will never be using them again. The actual mowing is good but the costumer service is terrible. I would give 0 stars if I could.

This is my second cut so far with lawn starters and boy they are top notch when it comes to your lawn. Very attentive to detail and always on time. The best part is that it s all through an App and you can control the entire thing at your fingertips (mowing frequency, Communicating to the crew, billing details, quotes for other lawn needs etc) I m am happy i made the move to lawn starters from a previous company that was flat out over charging for poor quality work.

Im extremely lenient and easygoing. I had a biweekly schedule for having my grass cut. Initially, they did well with my first 3 cuts. Then came the excuse of the assigned team having to replace a part on the mower and the contractor losing his keys--asking to reschedule. Sure fine. They never showed up. I asked for a new team, who came out one time. Ive been scheduled and rescheduled ONE MONTH (3x total). On the last day of the recommended two-day scheduled time frame, my services were cancelled. Each of those 3x I was informed a $15 credit was provided and that they were having trouble finding someone to cut my grass. But this company is a lawn care service, right? I got tired of being easygoing after one month of pleading, I just sought out another service. BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!!!!

This app and the customer service is horrible. LawnStarter just contacts local lawn care businesses to take care of your lawn but they dont pay the lawn care businesses enough to stick around so you never know who or what youre going to get. If you want good reliable service, contact a local company and have them take care of your yard.

The experience i have had with this company has been less than ideal. From people not showing up at all to literally doing half of the yard because lawnstarter does not pay enough for them to do the backyard. Definitely would NOT recommend.

First time signing up took 3 weeks to get a crew out to mow then I had about 3 good mows on time and now it s been another 4 weeks since the crew has been by I kept calling and all I get told is I was rescheduled over and over again would not recommend

Signed up for the service at the beginning of August. They were supposed to cut my lawn weekly and never showed up although my account said they would show up every week. Completely unreliable. Would prefer to pay a higher price for a more reliable company.

Despite rain throughout the day, they still fit in the lawn care, by coming late in the evening. I really appreciate that.

Okay so my mom called Lawn Starter. The woman was so friendly on the phone. So the crew came out and they agreed to payment arrangement and were going to come back that following Saturday! But they cancelled on us!!!! All because we needed to reschedule because of the weather !!! SO FREAKING RUDE!!!!

I just began using this service to take care of my lawn and my flower beds. The service is great. The service is very easy to use, and the work that they do is excellent. My lawn was mowed last week when it was full of weeds. It still looks great today since I am using the every two weeks option. My flower beds were a mess since there had been some concrete work done in front of my house. Soon after the providers left, the birds were sitting in the flower beds and singing a song. I recommend this service if you are looking for a user friendly lawn care service for regular or one time services.

Noah at LawnStarter communicates effectively with texts to keep scheduling clear. I ve always mowed my own lawn, started to use LawnStarter while I had issues with my mower, but he s been doing an even better job than I was myself! Now I plan to stick with them long term.

The gentleman - Romeo that cut my lawn did a very good job. He was knowledgeable and thorough. However dealing with LawnStarter was very much a hassle as they are disorganized and communications with them in regards to getting someone to do the job done was fretful as some lawn care people are only looking for a quick and easy job. Sometimes that is not the case and should be prepared for that. The home owner has to do their job also by picking up dog droppings, their toys and lawn furniture should be orderly. Otherwise the LawnStarter app is easy to use and convenient. Just remember its just an app to connect you with local lawn care services and they are not necessarily vetted. The people on the Customer Support line are just people that answer the phone for your questions and complaints and not savvy in handling upset customers and do not communicate well the solutions to keep customers happy. Its the lawn care crew that make all the difference. I will still give them another try as this is a young start up App company so I am keeping that in mind.
