Worse service I ever received, only cut some area of the yard so now I have to pay a second time for someone to come and fix their work. The areas that was “cut” is still high. I called to cancel any future services and they’re refusing to stating they force customers to get at least 3 cuts to cancel services. I guess that’s what you have to do when you know your service sucks. I’m contacting my credit card company to block any future charges.
We have had a horrible experience. We just moved from Nevada and bought a home in Lorain. We don't have our lawn equipment yet and signed up for grass cutting, having bushes trimmed and help clearing the back of our property. They quoted one price which we agreed to, and within a couple of days, we were contacted with a different quote that was almost double. There was serious miscommunication between the company and their contractor. We finally decided to cancel all services except the obligation for 3 grass cuttings. They charged our account for the full amount of the services they never performed. We are talking over $700. I see a lawyer in our future.
I started with this company being as they claimed to move and haul away debris. I got a quote for the clean up, they came out sounded like all that was done was using the weed eater a bit. Anyway, I complained, and all that happened was they replaced the provider and credited my account with them the amount I paid for a job that never got done. This week, I had yet another professional come out and cut the grass and I was notified of a "long grass fee" which more than doubled my bill. This company is a RIP-OFF, stay far away. When they do cut the grass, it the bare minimum. I had weeds growing around my garage door I had to specifically ask, same thing with weeds growing in the driveway. Lesson learned, I'll be more thorough with the reviews. Bear in mind also if you use this service you will NEVER have contact with the person who is cutting your grass. What is it with people today that they are afraid to use doorbells and actually let people know that they are there, or when they are done.
The "pro" was rude and refused to wait for me to move the car in my driveway. He said he didn't have time and left. Just unbelievable. I canceled the order. Took all afternoon to get a hold of someone from customer service. I ended up on hold for over an hour. I rarely write reviews but I definitely felt the need to do so today.
I'm obsessed with having my lawn maintained weekly. In the past, I've had someone cut my grass but without the edging and clean up work that makes the yard look professionally groomed. I found LawnStarter advertised on the app, Next-door, so I decided to give them a call. The outcome of their service is 100% better and I've had many neighbors notice the difference as well. The technician does a very proper cutting and also takes the time to do edging and clean up details that make a difference in the appearance of my lawn. My husband is allergic to grass so having a very good outside service is important. He even approves of Lawnstarter and that's a relief! Our technician's name is Joe. He's always on time and seems to really care about the quality of his work. I highly recommend this service.They also have excellent customer service.
I recently started using LawnStarter for my weekly grass cutting, edging and clean up, because my former service raised their prices, and it became almost unaffordable as a senior on social security. The quote was not that much less, but I decided to give it a try for several reasons: - they do a very good job of communicating with the customer. You have the opportunity to tell them exactly what you are looking to have done and give specific instructions - all through the app on your phone - I was 'introduced' to Demetreius prior to his arrival, and since I was home when he got there, I was able to go over my instructions and answer any questions - you only have to commit to 3 cuttings to start; and there is no long-term contract - your card is not charged until 2-3 days following the service to give you time to review the work (and complain) - and get it right if necessary - I like being able to pay weekly, again via the app, instead of a monthly invoice; easier for me to budget Overall, I am happy so far and looking forward to see how the season progresses.
I've always cut my own lawn because I assumed a professional service would be very expensive. When I hurt my knee, I contacted LawnStarter for an estimate. I was stunned by how reasonable the cost was. They fit me into their schedule and did a fabulous job. After my knee healed, I decided to stay with them. They do a much nicer job than ever did; it frees up my weekends; and the cost is very affordable. Very professional and I highly recommend them!!!!!
This lawn service is too expensive. They raised my price to $46.99 per cut, which is generally once a week. It’s not an oversized lot, not any shrubbery, nothing but cut, edge and clean up the clippings. I’d need them to save those clippings so I’d have something to eat! They have a great communication platform where you can text straight to your crew, but it’s only as good as the users make it. Not used to it’s full potential. Fortunately I found a more reasonably priced crew. One that’s not corporatized and charging for the staff wages on top of your lawn care. And these guys slip in a share of their liability insurance in case the crew damages your property. I call that corporate overhead and it’s the company’s expense. If I want insurance, I’ll buy it, but there is no option here. If I weren’t disabled I’d do it myself!

They charged me $38.99 and never cut my grass! They wont give me back my money, they say theyre going to send someone to do it. Ive already moved from that house! They STOLE $38.99 from me. I have to work about 3 hours to earn that much money! Horrible service!

Do not weed wack they fail to do the job and when you call 30 min to answer phone. Do not use this company. If you have had the same experience as I I urge you to call attorney General and the BBB.
Terrible, used for almost two summers. Never consistent. Different crew each week most did half the work. They never came on the time frame of those days. I finally stopped using them when they skipped my back yard for three weeks and only cut half of the front yard.

I have used LawnStarter for about 3 years. My provider Willie does a good job on my lawn. I am very happy with the company and my provider, I highly recommend both.
This company will show up and mow your lawn or whatever you ask them to do, but they are clearly trying to get you to pay them and avoid the risk of you, well, not paying them, by intentionally not communicating. I paused my mowing in November to re-start in the spring. When I opened the app to schedule something soonish, I was shocked to see they already planned to re-start this week. I didn t get any kind of email that my pause was auto-lifted and my grass isn t ready this week. I was MOST shocked to see that the price for their scheduled mowing again, this week and *without any notice* was TWENTY SEVEN PERCENT HIGHER than it was. They raised my prices from $33 to $42 WITH LITERALLY NO COMMUNICATION. Even inflation isn t 27% since November. Scam. Will be canceling as soon as I secure another service which is difficult to do in late-April.
Always on time and efficient. I barely notice they are there which is important to me bc I work nights and am usually sleeping when they are there. 3rd year using this service! Happy client.
LawnStarter Lawn Care did a tremendous job!!!! It was my first lawn mow of the year and they had overgrown grass with which to contend. They did a great job mowing and edging. They also blew away the residual grass that was on the sidewalks so everything looks neat and trim. HIGHLY RECOMMEND; A+++++
Excellent service!
I was charged for 3 cuts that they never did. They charged me for service in the middle of December and January when I was buried in snow and my service was supposed to be paused for the end of the season. They refused to fully refund me and attempted to avoid refunding me at all. Outside of this being a dishonest practice, its horrible business. I planned on keeping that service for the foreseeable future, but was forced to cancel after such a bad experience. So they traded the revenue for 3 cuts and gave up all my future business in exchange. Not to mention any recommendations I might have made to use their services. Not too smart.
2nd year using Lawnstarter and I love that its so easy to use, you can increase or decrease service as needed, my yard always looks great and if any additional work might be needed like leaf clean up, they always recommend it and send a quote for the work. Im very happy with the service.
I was happy with the level of service I had received. But the crew changes became a bit too much. I couldnt be sure the crew that knew my yard would continue. Granted, lawnstarter did find new crews to take over, but then I had to make sure the new crew learned all the things I wanted for my lawn. This became a bit of a communication time sink.

My yard is slightly challenging to cut because I have a container garden in the back and the footing is rough near the fence in the back. I have had services before who used a weed Wacker and damaged my containers. Elizabeths team was considerate if that. They did not get too close to the containers and finished the cut. The rimmed and edged the yard. They showed up when they said they were going to, which is big for me. Ive had trouble getting people to show up when they say. I gave Elizabeth 5 stars.
My last lawn guy was too infrequent. LawnStarter is on time, every time. My wife likes the professional who cuts our lawn. If she likes him, he must be doing a good job.

Scam! Do not use! They didn t do the work hard to get them by phone and when asked for the refund they hung up three times. They aren t located in Cleveland. They hire supposedly subcontractors.. big mistake but we ll reverse charges on credit card and block them from further charges. Filed a complaint to warn others.
These guys are great. They communicate, theyre prompt and they do a really good job on the lawn.
hired lawn starter to remove debri, put out mulch and trim bushes. They rescheduled me 5 times and then sent me a review. When I gave them a bad review for not showing up 5x they removed me from the schedule. It seems they cherry pick the jobs for the most money and push back or cancel projects that dont make them enough money. Very unprofessional.
Im usually too busy to do my own lawn so Ive relied on LawnStarter for 2 years now. Derrick this year has been wonderful, letting me know if he needs to switch days and coming early if my lawn got a bit long. Price is not bad either, Im very happy!

I have had Charles from Lawn Starter now my lawn so far this summer. He does good work, and communicates if there is any problem. He is thorough, and trims edges, then cleans with a blower.

Its incredible one person can do all that. Very proffesional, very detail in his work, corners, edges. And cleans up. I have no complaints. I only wish I heard about him when my mom was here. Her previous law service, left clumps, uneven cuts you can see a wave. And trimming for get it. They came in with a lawn tractor cut the grass thats its. Grass close to the was left. And oh yes they knocked over hot lamp post.

The service started off great, then I was charged for a service that was not done. I called Customer Service. I was told everything would be fine, but I have still not gotten my services. This is not cool. I will not use them again and would not recommend them. I will I could give ZERO STARS!!!

Orig review (see edit below): They roped me in saying they charge me $50 to mow my lawn and remove leaves, then I find out I have to pay them $50 a visit for lawn mowing, even in the winter months-WEEKLY!-in order to have the privilege of paying EXTRA for leaf removal. The salesperson who sold me on this service assured me more than five times that leaf removal was included with my service. They either don t train their employees, or they are ripoff artists. I suspect a little of both. EDIT: Several days later, the company reached out to offer a one-time free service and they apologized for my poor experience. Not exactly acknowledging their fault, but close enough. Their service requirements remain baffling to me, as plenty of people in NE Ohio need leaves removed this time of year, but few people need their lawn mowed. So, Ill retract my ripoff artists comment above, but I have to say there is clearly a breakdown in the way they communicate their bizarre and bureaucratic service requirements.

Somehow this company got my phone number and won t stop contacting me about an address I do not live at. I don t even live in Ohio. I have asked 6 different people at this point to remove my contact info and stop contact but EVERY DAY I get texts and phone calls that interrupt work. Extremely annoying and unprofessional. Also countless reports of spam once I looked up who/what they were.

I hired this company to mow my lawn on Thursday. Was told they would be out Friday or Saturday--They never showed up. I called on Monday and was told the 1st provider had cancelled, they are a service that uses multiple contractors, the new crew would be out on Tuesday or Wednesday. I had requested a supervisor call me---never happened. Had difficulty cancelling the contract---Buyer beware.
Complete rip off! Beware. First they charge you $10 for lawn care and whatever you sign/agree fine print has agreement that makes you get additional lawn care for $49/lawn mowing. Complete shady company
BAIT AND SWITCH!! Their website clearly offered the option of a one-time mowing service only. However each time I called and communicated with them by text they indicated that they had a 3 mowing service minimum which was never indicated anywhere on their website. Even after sending them a photo of the website details they still tried to force me into a minimum commitment of 3 mowing services. I only needed one Service. As a result I told them to erase our info and not to contact us again. I do not like being tricked and I dont like having my time wasted. Nowhere on their website was there any indication regarding a 3 service minimum. I initially saw their listing on nextdoor.com. I hope that others are not tricked!
HI. Rarely do I leave reviews. That said, this was MORE than deserving. Consider this an UBER of lawncare -- meaning they dont have their own staff. They engage others as needed, but clearly not well. Called on a Wednesday, was given a window between Monday-Tuesday the following week and was told I was committing to 3 cuts. Problem is the first one never showed up. No call, no notice, no nothing. The rely on someones willingness to pick up the job and dont bother to track anything about it until after the fact. They offered a reschedule, but it again would have been another wait and see. They apparently cannot reach out to contractors in the area for availability or willingness to do the job. Seems to work well for some, but clearly not here.

My lawn looks 100% better than it did before Willie and his crew got to my residence. They were courteous and pleasant. They made sure that they cleaned up completely and that I was satisfied with their work before they left.

First time they came out the cutters claimed they would not cut my back grass because it was 9 inches and stated there was an additional fee of $50 and just left without talking to me first about it, instead they send me a message online and state that they would not be back for 3 additional days, my grass was actually 5 tall, they cut the front but left 6 patches where they did not cut! and did not edge at all, they send out another crew a few days later and these people never even told me there would be any additional charges until they were done cutting and asked me to pay $50 more to pick up the grass clippings! so one TERRIBLE CUT cost me almost $80! and they try to tell you if you attempt to cancel that they have a contract for 1-3 additional cuts and then they will cancel! LMAO! BEWARE people, choose someone else to cut your lawn! I will be posting these reviews EVERYWHERE so that no one else gets caught up with this service!
John Rogers came out to my property after another crew did a hack job on my lawn. John was friendly and professional from beginning to end. His work supercede all expectations. I highly recommend him and the app for other disabled veterans or just general populous. The app guarantee that you get your moneys worth. Very attentive management and team. I truly appreciate your no tolerance for lazy workers. Keep up the great work.

My first cut was great. After that it was sub - standard. I probably could have done a better job if I cut it myself. They also after I did my three cut minimum went into my account and charged me for a fourth cut after I had already cancelled their services. Lied and said they did a fourth cut on my yard which they never did. Im very disappointed in this company and their standards of how they cheat customers. If I could have given zero stars I would have! BEWARE IF YOU USE THIS SERVICE!!!
