Gilliland is a local business that offers a range of plans including more eco-friendly options. The plantains and other broad leaf weeds were out of control in our yard and our yard was a mud pit in the winter and spring. We needed grass for our kids and dog to play in and opted for an eco-friendly package and the grass has looked great ever since.

Gilliland has been great to work with. Overall, I have been impressed by some of the personal touches that they apply. In season they are timely, but even in the offseason they stay in contact regarding your service. Our lawn is still somewhat a work in progress, but every year it has gotten progressively healthier.

Excellent quality of work, professionalism, and responsiveness. Weve had them do several large projects (landscaping, replace a fence, and build a seawall along our lakefront property) and we also use them for weekly and seasonal mowing and maintenance. During the seawall project, Im sure I was a headache as a customer, but they were patient, listened to my concerns, and provided me exactly what I was looking for.

Very expensive. Finally called me back after 3 weeks to basically tell me I couldn t afford them. I did not want to spend over $3,000 and they told me that would barely cover the removal of plants and maybe only do one side of the house. I recently moved from Pittsburgh and $3000 was enough to do the entire front entrance of our commercial building. Price out of range for us and I would think for most people.

We used Gillilands after our grandsons went off to college. They did a very nice job and came on a regular schedule unless it rained. They were good about cleaning up the area after mowing, and the gentleman in charge of the group was kind and professional with our particular needs. We have used Gilliland Landscape for two different projects - landscape design and plantings in the front of the house and a two tiered patio with sitting bench in the backyard along with drainage work to take water away from the house. If you have done construction projects before, something always seems to pop-up out of the blue that needs to be addressed and can cause stress during the project. Our projects were a couple of days and a couple of weeks and at the end of each day, the crew would go thru and clean up around the house and the areas they worked so it looks like its just a normal day instead of a construction zone at your property. We had them remove overgrown bushes, etc.around the front and side of our home. Then they planted new shrubs, flowers, etc. and put down medium river stones. Very professional, hard-working guys. We are extremely pleased with the result!

I used this company to put in a new retaining wall under my deck. The old wall was leaning out and I was concerned it would damage my deck above. I contacted the company and the owner came and looked at the wall and suggested how he would construct the new wall, He indicated that he had a number of jobs and gave me a time frame as to when it would be done. He kept the forecasted time and the old wall was removed and the new wall was put it. The crew working on the job was very skilled, cordial and did a terrific job. I would not hesitate to recommend this company for consideration for landscaping work to be done at your home or business .

We used Gillilands Landscape to redesign and construct a retaining wall by our firepit. When we moved into our house we determined that a retaining wall that surrounded our gas-fed fire pit was over the property line. To fix the issue, we had to remove the existing retaining wall and reconstruct it so it was on our side of the property line. James Gilliland and his team did a fabulous job in helping us to re-design and re-imagine what our retaining wall could look like along with it being landscaped. James took the time to come to our house on two different occasions to talk with us regarding the design, taking into account the slope of the design and answered all of our questions. His assistant, Sara Sorbera, helped us to put together the documents that were needed for our HOA and walked us through the costs associated with the project. She was fantastic. The crew that worked on our project was attentive, through, punctual, and always professional. We couldnt be happier with the finished project and our association with Gillilands Landscaping. Gilliland treated our lawn the entire 2019 season and made some recommendations as to length of cut and bagging or not bagging our clippings. Our lawn looked better than it has for years. So happy I switched to Gilliland. The pricing is great and they are very flexible when it comes to scheduling. We have a gated back yard and they would always contact us before the visit so we could unlock the gate. If we couldnt have the gate unlocked for them, they were always willing to reschedule. We have worked with James and his amazing team on two major projects and just cant say enough about the quality of their work. Our first project with them was a retaining wall that went up while our house was being built and when we saw the local code people, they said the whole office was talking about its quality and design. When you can impress code people then you are really working with the best of the best. This summer they worked on a patio, fire pit and major landscape plan. We were able to witness firsthand the work ethic and creativity of their hardscape and landscape team. The final result is beyond our expectation. We had major paver work down on our previous house in NY and we thought that company was great. Seeing the attention to detail with Gilliland Landscape made me realize how lucky we were to have them as our local experts.
