I do not recommend hometown turf or essential pets as they will bill you over $1,000 for services that you never get done. Plus when you work for them and then ask when they plan on sending out w 2 you get blocked. All around bad service and employment.

I hired them in 2023 due to shoulder surgery. I take great pride in my yard and grass and always have. They treated my lawn 6 times, three of which it was pouring down rain while being treated. My front yard grass was destroyed by these guys. Had no intention of rehiring for two reason, 1. My shoulder is healed and 2. My yard looked horrible. I come home tonight 21 Feb. 2024 and find a bill in my mailbox for a years treatment that day !!! I did NOT want them in my yard again. To make matters worse I spread grass seed last week before snowfall on front lawn. Pretty sure the treatment they spread on top of new seed will kill it. Wouldn t recommend if you Love your yard.

Im new. Just received my first application today. Everyone has been very professional and courteous. Only time will tell how well they maintain the weed control. Im excited to find out!!!!

Never called to cancel appointment and said they do not service Montgomery County. I believe their marketing department did not know where to market the service when they called in January. Sure would have liked the free lime application they were offering.

My husband received a phone call from the company. Spoke with a gentleman named Tom. They had a great conversation and then got quotes from other lawn care businesses in the Tri-state. They had the best deal for our neighborhood and what we were looking for. We went ahead and paid for a full season up front with aeration, seeding, and grub control. Well see how the season progresses and if our lawn is well taken care of.

I have an irregular yard with some hilly areas. Some spots take a little more effort to treat. With their liquid application, I immediately noticed better weed control after the first treatment. Their personnel is friendly, responsive, and congenial.

Hometown Turf aerated my lawn and was willing to work with my seeding schedule. The timing of the areation was perfect. Update (May 18, 2023): Just received my 3rd application this season. Doing great. No weeds and lawn is healthy and growing strong.

I walked the yard with the technician and showed him what got done. He did half of what I showed him and thought I had left, so he split. I would not recommend them first impressions are lasting . Now Im getting statements from hometown turf. They are some serious crooks I would not recommend them to anyone . Do it yourself or hire Scotts

Had Josh aerate my yard. Saw a note I was going to reseed part of the yard. Took the time to go over some the bare spots several times to break up the soil for me. These guys are top notch. Yard has never looked better.

Quality service But a little slow on responding to application questions

Overall a completely frustrating experience. Started off with the first few treatments going well, but then their communication went sour. They repeatedly did not notify ahead of time that they were treating. Finally, they aerated in mid August when it hadn t rained in days, they didn t call to notify me ahead of time, and didn t really seem to care. I told them I was done after that, but got a call today from Tristan, saying that he was coming out to treat my landscaping for an additional charge. Didn t ask, just said he was coming out, after which I told him not to since I had concluded our relationship with them. After I explained my issues, he hung up on me. I m sure they re fine if you don t need to be notified and will work on their timeframe, not yours. A few of the techs seemed not very knowledgeable and dismissive. Paraphrasing: That s not a problem with your grass, those are spots from a dog . was what one tech told me.

A company that calls you asking for business is not a company to do business with, I learned the hard way. Called me and talked me into giving them my service for lawn Fertilizing. I called and canceled my other service. And then kyle called me back and said they couldnt service my area and hung up the phone and now wont return my calls. Now I lost the price I originally had with my other company. WOW Read the other negative reviews they are true. Horrible communication. Kyle has very poor communication skills.

In the last month this company has called me over 12 different times. After a few calls back to back on the same day I called the number back and they offered me lawn care service. I politely told them I was not interested and we ended the call. Two days later they called me again to which I told them I was not interested and had just spoken to someone and for them to not call again. One hour and 25 minutes later another person called and at this point I was very agitated. Fast forward a week and theyve called me again and I was not very pleasant with the person on the phone call. I would never do business with anyone like this ever, and I dont recommend anyone ever does.

This is the best my lawn has looked! I ve tried all the big companies but they were able to get rid of the grubs, control the weeds and they ve got my lawn thicker and greener than ever! And the guys that come out are clean cut professionals! Thanks for all the hard work

I just switched to Hometown Turf from one of the big companies, I always prefer to deal local when I can. They have very competitive pricing, but even more important, they offer SERVICE! Josh came out today to do my fall aeration, this was my first post sales face to face interaction. He could not have been any more pleasant and professional. They did a great job and cleaned up the plugs on the sidewalk and driveway before leaving. If this is any indication of whats to come I know I will be very pleased with my choice to switch.
