The company responded quickly to my inquiry, came the next day to provide an estimate and work was scheduled in the 2 week time-line that was promised. The workers were polite and readily answered any questions I had. Work was completed in a timely fashion and was beyond expectations!

I had an area of mulch around six spruce trees enlarged. This involved removing the King edging and reinstalling it to enlarge the area width by three feet. Then the fabric was installed over the new area and then the entire was covered with mulch. The crew worked very hard in 90 degree weather. Superb job at a fair price.

Not a lot of plowing done due to lack of snow!! But they have plowed 3 x which is pretty impressive considering the lack of snow. GREAT email communication when there is some snow expected as to what we as customers can expect. Ill be using them every winter from now on.

J & R seals my driveway and snow plows my driveway. They are VERY neat when sealing. Nothing on the grass or paved walk ways. Also, the staff is VERY friendly and professional. When snow plowing, you get email updates on when they will be in your area, when a storm is coming and there plans to clear driveways, etc. You are kept updated about everything - sometimes more than once a day. My driveway is always cleared before I leave for work, and when I get home from work. the are clean, clear as close to your car as possible without hitting it, and NEVER have they dug up any of my grass. I had a situation where I had cars in my driveway and they were only able to do the end of my driveway. I called and left a message. The owner called back and I asked if he could send someone over to clear the whole driveway and to let me know when they would be there, so I could get the cars out. He had someone at my house within 10 minutes. How can you beat this kind of service? I highly recommend J & R and will continue to use their services! You should too!

Quite a change from my last plow company...always came early so I could get off to work on time, returned to clear the driveway as nabt tunes as necessary, cleared a very bumpy driveway nicely, followed the boundary stakes nicely, left very little damage to the lawn (and fixed it). The communication regarding current and expected weather that would affect the service was excellent and timely...not only were emails prompt, informative, and up to date, but they contained helpful suggestions on relevant topics affecting the service and with a touch of humor! They truly appreciate their customers! I highly recommend J and R!

The J&R team did an amazing job replacing our old carpeted stairs with beautiful oak treads and an oak landing. They were meticulous in the details as they carefully filled in edges. They put in white Formica risers as requested which show beautifully. We will definitely use them in the future.

Nice experience with J&R. Had them resurface the parge around the foundation of the house. Price was WAY better than I was expecting and the guys did top notch work. We have used J and R for driveway snow blowing for the past four winters. I highly recommend them. We have been absolutely happy with their service every winter. Not only do they do a great job keeping our driveway clear of snow, but we get multiple email updates during snow events to keep us up to date and informed about what they are doing and what the plan is for the remainder of the day/night. They even come around at the end of the snow event after the town plows go through to clean up the end of our driveway. We are very happy with the service.

J and R Lawns & Landscapes recently came and gave my front lawn a do over. It was in a bad condition that they helped to make better. They did an excellent job of pulling weeds, trimming bushes and tree, edging, and putting mulch down Looks like a whole new front yard. I have never been able to evenly trim a 12 foot tree. They brought the tallest ladder and longest pruner I have ever seen. The tree is beautifully shaped.

The worst plow service I have ever hired. They dont show up for hours, the company is obviously overbooked & understaffed. Elderly ladies, single moms, I DO NOT RECOMMEND! You dont be able to get out of your driveway!

I spoke with him a couple of times during the process and he was very helpful in answering my questions, letting me understand how the lawn will improve over time and very pleasant while listening to me. Excellent customer service. I had to leave prior to him finishing and when I returned home, it was obvious that he prides himself in leaving the lawn in the best shape possible.

Although I was nervous to see my poor lawn being plowed up in preparation of fresh soil being laid down and then having seed sprayed down the expanse, it was needed. My lawn was spotty with both soil and grass. J&R were very professional in their work, which took them all day to do. They reassured me grass would grow and I would have a good-looking lawn as a result of this work. I was given very good instructions regarding how to water the new lawn and even received some good suggestions about the type of sprinkler to use Im order to cover the huge expanse of newly laid soil and seed. It has not been that long a period of time and most of my soil is now enjoying what appears to be a close-cropped haircut! My new grass looks good, perhaps too good because local squirrels are already planting their seeds throughout the area. I am sure, though, I will be able to mow down any trees that may germinate in the spring. I was told not to mow the newly planted area until my grass reached 6 inches. If the grass keeps growing as it has been, I may even get oneowong before putting the mower away for the winter! Thank you, J&R, for the wonderful work you have done. I would never have thought to blend 3 types of grass to begin with. Thank you for the helpful care instructions you provided. From the boss on down the guys at J & R were professional, courteous, and excellent craftsmen. I had two teams working on a one day project that became a nughtmare week of rot discovery w mold and carpenter ants. Since I am a self employed poet/artist I was worried about being able to afford it but they worked with me and after a week of all the guys answering all my questions and being good sports w my picture taking I have a beautifully waterproof, mold and rot free chimney wall and a gas fireplace as well. I had such a bad draft in my liv rm candle flames went horizontal. Now after 3 layers of i sulation and new board I am warm as toast. And all the guys love pets and treated mine like good friends. We will miss them!

J and R did a great job aerating my lawn and over-seeding it. Then they came back a few weeks later to apply the starter fertilizer. My lawn looks so much better than it did!

To anyone that is looking for a company to do work on their driveway, I would highly recommend these guys. They do beautiful work at a reasonable price. I was in a pickle and needed to have my ground leveled because we put in an above ground pool. My yard was off by 1-2 inches but that amount was enough to put the entire pool in jeopardy. I called J&R and they were able to come out in a few days and had done the work quickly and efficiently. I was very impressed and was pleased that they fit me in so quickly. I am a satisfied customer and will use their services again.

While I was out of state for the Thanksgiving holiday, J and R Lawns & Landscapes did the final fall cleanup and disposal on my residential property. I wanted to change (update) the landscaping on the sides of my home. When I saw the J and R people working in the neighborhood, I decided to call them. They were able to give me suggestions for low maintenance shrubs and combined with shrubs that I was thinking about, we planned the landscaping. The crew that arrived were the perfect team. I liked the following: -Able to request estimate via email. -Estimate was set up and completed within 24 hours. -Receptionist called to confirm and remind me of appointment for estimate. -Crew arrived when J&R said they would arrive. -Crew arrived around 9AM, which was a good time. Not too early to interfere with me leaving for work, not too late to interfere with me trying to take care of after work responsibilities. -Foreman checked on work within 24 hours of completion and asked if there was anything further needed. I advised there was. Foreman told me what he would do and when he would have it done. He was true to everything he said. -No hidden costs. The quote and bill were identical. -Received bill after full completion of work. -Able to pay the bill online.

I was very impressed with the way they returned your calls and was able to assist you immediately. I had a last minute party at the height of the season and they were able to accommodate me and did a fantastic job. This is our second year having the guys from J&R cut our lawn. Im always impressed with how polite they are and how quickly they get the job done. Theres usually two guys, one in the front yard and one in the back, then one goes back around with a trimmer while the other finishes up. Our backyard tends to flood near the back fence and they always check to see if I want them to leave it if its really wet, so they dont tear up the lawn. Would definitely recommend this company.

These guys are just horrible! After one season of plowing my driveway, they completely destroyed my lawn (driving on it while it was wet), scraped a layer of my newly paved driveway, came late all the time (or wouldnt come until I called and yelled at them), only came once early in the morning (before the street plows came through) and then wouldnt come again, so I was not able to get out of my driveway, and was late to work. Just a horrible, atrocious service. Stay away from them. Spare yourself of a headache and hire someone else. There are much better and cheaper services around Syracuse area.
