Update 11/13/2024: See attached picture from November 24. I am happy with the progress of the yard. I have had several people comment to me how good my grass looks. I personally aerate and overseed every year as well. Original: I started as a customer in the middle of last season. I previously did my own lawn treatments but decided to treat myself. The last treatment, which was in April really took out most of the weeds. I have noticed my lawn growing in thick as well. I believe the cost is reasonable based on previously doing my own treatment and knowing the cost and hassle of it all.

Today I received an application of a pre-emergent herbicide: Prodiamine--Stonewall 0.43% Plus 25-0-5 Fertilizer. A sticker was on my receipt stating to register online, all info will be accessible. Im not keen on having to keep checking a website to find out when Im getting treatments. It is too bad that your company does not take the extra step to notify the customer when their paid treatment will occur. Also, I heard from a potential new customer for your company, that they were disappointed that no one answers the phone for new customers in Delaware. Just wanted to know how folks are perceiving your company.

Hillside comes 3 times a year to put down fertilizer and weed control. My yard looks so much better. Have had a great experience with them. Always a pleasure to deal with them. Cody calls me the day before to ask if it is ok to come.

We have been using Hillside Lawn care for many years and our lawn always looks great. They have great customer service and respond quickly should the need arise.

I tried to maintain my own lawn with a Scotts program and weeds for the best of me. I got 4 estimates, and not only did Hillside come in the cheapest, but came recommended from a family member who gave great reviews and had used them for several years. The team at Hillside took my lawn from worst on the block to the best in under a year. They are punctual, informative, responsive with any questions I had. I am currently renewing for another year and dont ever see that changing. Great business giving great results at a very competitive rate. You wont be disappointed. Im now a few years into Hillside service and will continue. Ive recommended this company to several family members and friends. Add consistency of quality results to the list.

Having an issue with my lawn, asked them to take a look at it, they have taken soil samples and are awaiting those results before the situation can be addressed. So they are actively addressing the situation and said it would take 2-3 weeks to get the results. We will see how the samples tested.

Hillside was very responsive to my calling about quoting the Deluxe service. Mark Borkman was excellent as their sales consultant in going over their services. The unfortunate part is that their pricing was more than the service provided by their competitor.

Be careful when using this company. No one person or company is perfect. After three years a discerning pattern was noticed. Hard to believe it was by mistake. First year a very expensive service was performed (Aeration and over-seeding) without my authorization. When I questioned this they said they reached out by email but got no response. They took that as a yes for the service. Second year when Hillside sent out their yearly service the Aeration and Seeding was on the quote at a very low price. When I saw this price I called and questioned the price and I was assured this was no mistake. I jumped at the great deal and paid for the yearly service in full. When fall came around 2 week prior to the aeration and seeding I received a call from Hillside saying a mistake was made on the price of this service and they could not honor the price that I already paid in full for. They best they could do was a partial service. To top it off it was in a part of the yard where grass was killed by one of their previous application. Third year received the yearly offer with the same unbelievable price for Aeration and Seeding. I again question this and I m still waiting for a response. Needless to say their services won t be needed.

After this company took over (bought out) my last lawn care person, I thought they were continuing his outstanding service, until I noticed the ruts made by the machines across the hill in my backyard. I called and explained what was happening and asked they not go across the hill (creating the ruts) but go up and down (the last service did it that way). The woman on the phone said, I will make a note in the file . Well, we finally had the next application and the new technician made even worse ruts in my lawn. I have video and pictures to prove it. The kid tore up part of the hillside, knowing the grass had dew on it making traction tough. At one point he nearly lost control of the machine almost sliding down the hill. I will be canceling my service after the contract runs out. You gave your word it wouldn t happen again I did finally have a meeting with one of the consultants with the company and after a discussion, I agreed to give them one more year to demonstrate their dedication to the service. I will update this next fall.

I ve been using Hillside since last fall, after realizing the national chain I was using was skipping scheduled services for me. Hillside was quick to provide a quote and explain their services, and while more expensive than others, so far it seems worth it. My lawn greened up quicker than normal this season and already seems to be on track to exceed my expectations. Excited to see how this season plays out compared to my last few years!

What has happened to Hillside? For many years, they have taken care of our lawn. This 2022 season started off great. The tech, Devin, was very professional. Sadly, hes not been back. He acknowledged the need to control the violets before they overtake the grass. Unfortunately, as of today, our sunny front lawn is filled with violets. I emailed the company and asked if someone could help us out. The response? Basically, we know your lawn is being overrun. We could spray but, wont really work. BUT, we have a product we can spray n the fall for $185. So, my simple request became a sales pitch. So sad. Makes me want to cry. No longer would I recommend Hillside. Theyve grown too big and dont have any method to maintain long time customers. Our family has done business with Hillside for years. Our lawn looks AMAZING! It s lush, green, and weed free. Keith and Wes were able to actually effect positive change with our violet population. As I write, the pesky plants are gone! Thank you, HillSide.

Looking forward to our 2nd year of lawn care with Hillside. Our first year showed a much improved lawn. We had a bad bout of Army worms late in the season, promptly treated and overseeded, which covered all the damaged turf and left no trace of damaged turf. My tech, Kyle R. was outstanding in his personalized care of my lawn. We highly recommend using Hillside for your turf care... The cost of buying your own chemicals and doing the labor yourself is pretty compatible.

3rd year with Hillside after that national chain and their watered down. products finally made my yard look so bad, it was if I did nothing. After 1st year there was dramatic improvement and by year two it was stabilized and returned to the way it used to be. Covering almost 3 acres for me so its expensive but worth it.

Former lawn care pro here myself... I took care of my lawns fertilization needs for years, until it became harder and harder to find good commercial fertilizer on my own after a local supplier closed up. I refused to use whats sold in the big box stores... its garbage. I know, I used to sell it at a box store. But even if you did use whats in the box stores, what youre going to spend on that (or a good commercial fert... which is cheaper, if you can find it) is going to be just about how much you would spend having Hillside do it for you. No more hunting for the fertilizer. No more worrying about when to put it down (as its different from season to season depending on the weather). No more worrying about burning our grass up by accident. Simply put, for about the same amount of money, or just a tad more, let Hillside do it all for you! I like Hillside because youll get the same tech all the time who knows when its time to put down what fertilizer depending on the weather conditions that given year. If you go with a national chain service... the chemical lawn care folks... if you will... you wont know whos showing up, or when, to put your fertilizer down. Are they doing it at the right time? With Hillside, I know my tech, I can email, text or call him anytime; I know when hes coming, and I know what hes putting down. Hillside is moving to environmentally friendly fertilizers as well, and the results are nothing short of impressive. I still aerate, overseed and cut my lawn myself. But I let Hillside take care of the rest. I know itll get done correctly, safely and on time. Not having to worry about fertilizing myself saves me a TON of time too, and thats invaluable. It takes the thought process out of it completely, and saves the bunch of trips to the stores to find what I need yearly... not to mention the application time, which alone saves me many hours of work each year. Look at my photos... if you want your lawn to be as lush as a private golf club, look no further than Hillside.

Lost a discount this year and was charged $16 more than last year for first application.This somehow reflects a 3% increase. I was not advised of the price increase before they came out to do the work.

Weve had Hillside Lawn Service for 18 years and they have been spectacular. Our lawn looks amazing. We also have Hillside treat our trees and shrubs. Since they have treated our trees and shrubs, we have noticed a tremendous difference in the health of our plants. I would highly recommend them.

Ive been using HillSide for 8 years and have been more than happy with my lawn. My tech Matt always takes the time to answer my questions and is very knowledgeable. The best thing for me is when I call the office I can always talk to someone and not a call center! Ive never had a bad interaction with anyone there and always refer them to anyone who needs help with their lawn. Honest and quality company!

My surveillance cameras recorded the service they provided. It was a long one minute operation. Yes ONE minute! No service around the house on the outside lawn was recorded. I submitted my video to the company, and asked for the bill to be waived. Rob agreed in good faith. I just received a note from a collecting agency. Nice job Hillside!

I have just started this lawn service this month. I have a lot of weeds instead of grass. Since, I selected the deluxe program, and, it hillside just did the 1st application of weed control, I noticed my lawn improving already. I cannot wait to see my lawn in the spring with beautiful grass!

The Hillside Team is very professional and personal. You get the same people every time. We use their lawn services, tree and shrub, aerating and overseeing and pest control services. They walk the property prior to any application, are willing to explain the issues the find and corrective actions the take. All quality personal attention at a competitive price.

Lawn is looking its best. They are always, always available for any questions or concerns. They do take action if needed. Costs are very competitive and friendly service is always a plus.

I spent many years trying on my own to get the perfect lawn. I used premium grass seed, premium fertilizer, cut it to the perfect height, watered when there was a drought and I still couldnt get it right. When my lawn was overtaken by crab grass I gave up. Theres a house in my neighborhood who always has a perfect lawn so I reached out to him and he told me he used HillSide. I called them, Matt from HillSide came to visit, shared with me my missteps in lawn management and told me it will take a few seasons but they can remedy my lawn woes. He was right, it took a few seasons to clean up my mess, but now I can boast one of the perfect lawns in the neighborhood!!!

Without knowing about your new fertilizer,( Polyon?) I did notice my lawn was slightly thicker and greener in 2020. Keep up the good work.

Ive been a Hillside Lawn customer for more than 20 years and have always received quality service and my lawn always looks great. Theyve grown as a company but the personalized service is always consistent and professional.

Before Hillside I wasted a lot of $$$ trying to maintain my yard myself, it did not work. With Hillside I have a very lovely yard and I didnt have to do any of the work. My son also started using them and his lawn improved dramatically with one application.

The team is great, the service is the question. They show up and spray but compared to Scotts, their products and results dont seem to be on par

They do a good job but are way to expensive. I have tried other lawn services and never got gouged like this before .I received a $290 bill ,Merry Christmas to me.I canceled them and wont refer them to anyone. else.
