The 2-man team who installed our new 50 foot wooden fence were unfailingly cheerful and patient with site clearance problems and the final result was exactly what we wanted. Actual Landscapes would always be our first choice for garden projects.

Called to enquire about design and implementation. A lady took my email, number and address and said one of the designers would call me back. Never heard since. Very poor.

I know that they take money s for plans, given the pandemic, they had time, and then do not supply or respond. They do not even reply to emails why? Can you not even do that Rory? Time waster talks a great game, sadly, with no response after receiving ££££

Actual Landscapes are now in their second week of a decking replacement project using porcelain planks. Rory previously visited on a number of occasions during the planning stage. His professionalism, knowledge and advice was invaluable and all is now coming to fruition. Mark and Lewis are punctual, considerate, tidy and knowledgeable and have been working hard in hot conditions. Will post an update when project completed.

We requested something a bit different, in that we wanted a garden with Japanese themes. Rory listened really carefully and took that forward, creating a design that he then put into play with real enthusiasm and inspiration. The team were fantastic- so friendly, incredibly hardworking, and conscientious. They were also very thoughtful when dealing with our neighbours, which we really appreciated. The result couldn t have delighted us more- we are so thrilled and look forward to seeing the garden settle in and grow as the years go by. It s a wonderful space for our family. We wouldn t hesitate to recommend and however big or small your project, you are bound to be very happy!

We asked Rory and his team to give us something a little different. Rory listened to what we wanted and came up with an inspired design. Then he became our project manager as his team turned design into reality. A great bunch of guys. Friendly and trustworthy and they really know what they are doing! Highly recommended.

We were looking to redevelop an average-size garden in a rural village. Our brief was an imaginative design using local, natural, and recycled materials (where possible.) We wanted a garden which felt in-keeping with the house and its surroundings. While we were initially impressed by Rory s enthusiasm and experience, overall we had a poor experience. After the first consultation, Rory missed several appointments and then lost his designs for our garden. Despite paying thousands for his design, we were only able to see it on Rory s iPad and we never received the paper plans we d paid for. Although the designs contained some good ideas, they lacked the depth and details on planting we d expected. Also, our options for materials were limited to those provided by Marshalls. This association with Marshalls limits what Rory is comfortable suggesting and he is willing to work with. We d expected this to be an expensive process and were prepared to pay for quality. But, when Rory gave us an estimate of £80k we were staggered. It was double what we d expected for an average-size space. We asked Rory for a revised estimate and a plan which included more local and recycled materials he left, and we never heard from him again. So, how did it all turn out? We hired a team of local stonemasons and landscapers who worked through the winter to completely clear the site, remove 120 tonnes of material, build raised beds and seating from recycled limestone, and hand-lay a driveway and paths. While we are over budget because of changes we decided to make along the way we will have spent less than half what Rory estimated and we have a new garden which is much closer to our brief, and feels right for the area and our house. Pros: Some good initial ideas Cons: Overly expensive. Poor service overall. Too tied to Marshalls products. Edit: To clarify following Rory s comments below: Our garden was developed by highly recommended stonemasons with over 30 years experience, not cheap local handyman installers. The driveway materials used were of the best quality combined with locally quarried limestone and slate. I suspect these will last for hundreds of years, so Rory s quip about a 10 year warranty is pointless. We would ve been happy to have further discussions, and asked for a re-quote, but we never heard from Rory again. Rory, rather than reply to criticisms with critical comments as you have done several times on Google I suggest you accept feedback graciously and with a dose of humility.

5***** fully recommend. Actual Landscapes transformed our sad and uneven small open front garden and doorstep space into a sleek, modern and enviable area! All team members were really friendly and the drive was kept super tidy each night. We looked at several landscaping companies and Actual Landscapes caught my eye in particular for their attention to detail, innovative designs and finish quality (I did not want a buy cheap, buy twice situation for this project!). This is not a cheap or quick process, these guys are in demand, and for good reason! Ultimately, you get what you pay for and when we look at the groundwork that has gone in to our design, we are genuinely confident that with a little upkeep, we will enjoy our front garden for many years to come. Weve had a massive positive response from the neighbours too who are all in awe! We will be using Actual Landscapes again when we come to transform our drive! Thanks guys!

I cant fault the design or the effort put in. Sam and Mike who did the work couldnt have worked harder and were a pleasure to have around ,even the neighbours commented. But there were a few snags . Rory was good at getting things sorted but where I was hoping to have it done for the summer it will be at least the end of August. Which is a shame as it spoilt it for me. I just expected to have top service for top dollar. But having said that Id use them again but have different expectations

Actual Landscapes transformed our miserable, tired looking garden into a vibrant, yet relaxing haven. Its hard to believe the transformation in just a few weeks and friends and family cant believe it either! Rory is a very creative guy and gave us four design options (all of which were excellent) but Im glad we went for our chosen design. We threw a few curved balls at the end of the project but Rory was always accomodating and professional - and has the patience of a saint! The two guys who worked tirelessly (Sam and Mikey) had all weathers to contend with (baking heat one day, torrential downpour the next) but were always professional and hard working and a great laugh! Needless to say, highly recommended!

Very disappointing experience - paid a deposit and had to constantly chase to get a response. Turns out they were too busy and wont return my deposit and are hiding behind their terms and conditions. Make sure that you have a year or two free if you want to use them to design your garden.

From initial consultation to finished article I cannot fault Rory and the lads from Actual Landscapes. We started off with 4 concepts which we then tweaked and fine tuned to find the perfect garden and it was executed to a really high standard. Actual Landscapes did a fantastic renovation of our age old dystopian garden in 2018. The lads on the tools worked seriously hard throughout the day, to the point where bit progress could be seen on an hourly basis. Materials used are second to none, I doubt you could find better! Finally, Rory is a true gentleman to deal with. When organising plans for the garden, the designs he supplied for different outcomes were professional and he talked through each individual feature. The finished result is sublime, can t wait for Summer BBQ season!

I cannot say enough good things about Actual Landscapes.
