The Lawn Doctor representative answered my questions concerning my lawn. He was courteous and knowledgeable about lawn care. After putting down fertilizer and weed killer he left a receipt with the description of the work that was done for that day. I like that so, I can share this information with my husband. Our grass is thick like carpet and stayed green all fall and winter for 2023. Neighbors have commented, “Your grass looks like carpet.” Before trying Lawn Doctor, our grass was thin, brown and weed infested.
Lawn Doctor has been great! April in the office is very nice and knowledgeable. The yard technicians have been great as well. They both spent time with me explaining their process and giving strategies for success in achieving a truly nice looking yard. JB
I am very disappointed with this company. They charge way to much money for their so-call service(s) that show no results. Their so-call "technician" typically spends five minutes or less riding around yard and as far as I can tell, there is nothing sprayed to control weeds. I think these people are a total fraud. I've given a one-star rating only because this survey would not advance to post without at least one star. Save your money and hire someone else.
We have used Lawn Doctor for over 12 years. Our lawn is one of the best in the neighborhood (stated by the neighbors) and the property is a rental. I recently had a concern about a certain type of grass growing. Lawn doctor sent a technician out within the week and addressed the problem and followed up with a phone call and written documentation. Great company with exceptional service.
1st 6 months they were great but then it was a nightmare. Came out one day to fertilize and only did half the yard in the back. They use a machine and I think in some places it was not able to get to certain locations so they just did not do it. They also treated for weeds and nutsedge two months later yard was full of weeds and nutsedge and office manager said it was cause of the heat and I explained neighbor used a competitive company and his yard look fantastic. Maybe cause he is two doors down he gets different weather. Now I have to spend $$$ to get the yard back to par.
I have been with Lawn Doctor for over 7 years and am very pleased with the service. My lawn is noticeably more healthier and vibrant than many of my neighbor's. The company always call and inform you well ahead of time before coming to do services on your lawn. They are professional-- leaving a summary of the services applied that day, maintenance details, etc. They offer flexible payment options, and are reasonably priced. Overall, good company, good services and fair pricing.

Ive used this service for more than 5 yrs. They have prevented weeds from taking over my yard. Since they have been treating it, it has grown very green, thick and plush. I would recommend them to anyone that has a struggling yard.

We contracted with Lawn Doctor because weeds had taken over our lawn. In a couple visits, my weeds are dead and the reseed has been growing well. My yard looks a lot better now!

I regret having Lawn Doctor of Greater Chesapeake powerseed my yard. The results were not good. I honestly could have done a better job. They acknowledged that the yard needs to be addressed and are now asking that I invest more money for them to fix the issue. They want me to pay for the first treatment of fertilizer before they come back out. Unbelievable!!! I do not recommend having Lawn Doctor of Greater Chesapeake powerseed your yard. I should have listened to others and hired ALM to slit seed my yard. My neighbors are eager to find out how it turned out - they are interested in powerseeding. Needless to say, I will advise them to save their money.

We started using Lawn Doctor a couple of years ago after noticing that our neighbors yard looked really good and getting a referral from them. Our lawn now looks the best it ever has! The slit seeding method really works! This company has excellent customer service. The ladies in the office are great. The owner will come out and talk to you and answer any inquiries you may have. They are prompt and efficient.

Hate to admit it, but once I turned over the lawn treatments to the Doctor, my grass has never looked better. I had been doing it myself for about 20 years, and did a good job. The costs of the service compared to costs of buying the chemicals yourself is very comparable. I will always use the Lawn Doctor.

Poor Customer Service! I hired Lawn Doctor to try and help my lawn grow. I spent an hour on the phone with one of their sales persons to try and make sure I setup the best service for my yard. They do not do any other grass besides tall fescue and they do not do customization. Whats even worse they do not keep their word. I was promised two core aerations and a fall seeding with their patented power seeding. When I called to ask when the fall core aeration and power seeding was to be scheduled they did not have it in their records. I unfortunately could not find the paperwork the guy had made these promises on so I had no backup. So I paid for very expensive weed and feed. So if you hire them make sure you have official documents so that you get what you paid for! I did for my cancellation...
They not only got our lawn to be the envy of the neighborhood but the tech stopped during one of his visits to give me tips on how to take care of my lawn between visits. Well worth the money.
