As an experienced perennial gardener, I was interested in some professional insights into my mature flower beds. I retained master hortculturist Antoni Basir to assess and provide recommendations for sprucing up my beds. Wow, did he exceed my expectations with his deep and vast knowledge of botany, plant placement and flow, appropriate plantings for sun stages, and so much more. What a treasure McNaughtons has with Antoni. Hes as professional and knowledgeable as it gets.

The best way to earn customer trust is to honor your commitments and make things right when issues arise. Last year, I hired McNaughtons to install sod and shrubs. Mike promptly visited, offered ideas, and sent a proposal. Despite their busy schedule, they managed to fit us in quickly. A few weeks later, some of the sod died (which wasnt under warranty), but Mike and his team promptly came out to fix it. About eight months later, one of the shrubs and several plantings didnt survive the winter. Once again, I called Mike, and his team returned to replace and replant. Often, it feels like you need to advocate for yourself because many businesses dont seem to care. However, with McNaughtons, thanks to Mike, I never felt that way. Well continue to use them for future projects.

McNaughtons has a great collection of standard garden plants, shrubs and trees, and house plants, and a notable variety of succulents and sometimes harder-to-find plants in the greenhouse. Landscape plants look well cared for and reasonably priced. Some greenhouse items are a little overpriced but overall healthy. I have to knock them on supply prices. For instance, bagged soil is significantly more expensive than other stores, and the selection is limited. I would only purchase plants here, and I dont see many people buying anything else. Customer service is friendly and helpful.

Seen this place mentioned all over the internet for rare tropical indoor plants and they certainly have them expect they are all over priced and dead, like worse that big box store clearance dead. It s borderline frustrating to experience. I felt inclined to ask if they had a clearance section or a return program for rescues but I left as I was too disgusted by the lack of care. No way would I bring any of those infested plant babies into my collection

There is a good selection of plants, a few which are on my wish list. However, most of them are poor condition... kind of what you would see on the clearance rack at Lowes. Its sad to see rows of rare dying plants. They really should make an effort to take better care of their plants or at least discount them so people might be willing to buy them and try to rehab them.

Such a treat to have this nursery close by. The Christmas decor during the holidays is amazing too!

Hope you enjoy scale on your plants! Definitely buy from here if you re trying to spread scale to the rest of your lovely house plant collection! The plant in question, an umbrella tree, that spread scale to my others was suspiciously half off.

Its a nice garden center, a bit pricey though. Theres so many pots in every size & color.

Very disappointed - misinformation and rude customer service. They pride themselves of providing a 50% back for shrubs that die within 1 year. The employee who helped me even said that if I could not bring the dead plant as evidence, a picture would suffice. Unfortunately, some of my shrubs died from the heat and the employees did their best to avoid giving the 50% back. They also treated me very poorly in the process, suggesting I was lying. I have also received conflicting advice from employees on which plants would work for my garden, with one employee contradicting the other one. It seems to me they are not very knowledgeable about the plants they sell.

Ive tried to buy native perennials over the last few years, and have been disappointed. You really need to go there with the latin names of the exact species you want. Last summer, they finally hired someone with a botanical background, and though I found no native perennials on my list, I bought other herbaceous plants tthat I still have. Hope he is still there.

I absolutely enjoy coming here from when I was a young child, but i can not get past some of the prices here. 670 dollars for a flocked 7.5 ft tree is just unjustifiable. If you need some lighter knick-knacks this is the place to go. If you have children and want to see a lovely Christmas walk through, this isnthe place to go. But if you are in need of something more serious such as a tree or a wreath, unless youre made of money, id shop elsewhere.

Not sure about the other seasons, but for Christmas it was wildly decorated and gorgeously setup! And a really great indoor plant selection in their greenhouse!

Their greenhouse is just awesome, great plant selection and great staff as well.

I called at 1pm 12/17 and spoke to a woman to confirm what time Santa would be there. She said Sunday until 5:30. When we arrived at 4:15 we were told Santa was until 4. Please train your staff as this was very upsetting to dress 2 kids expecting to get photos and then drive 30 minutes only to find out the info that was told to us only a few hours prior was wrong.

Walking through the warm greenhouse on a cold day is such a treat! Great variety, a little pricey but the plants are always healthy and pest free so it s worth the extra money. Staff is very friendly and helpful

I was able to find some the more trendy houseplants I have been looking for here. I bought a pilea, a peperomia and the old standby, a wandering Jew. They also had a great selection of planters.

Fantastic service, very knowledgeable. They had some plants you could not find readily at competing garden centers. Im a Master Gardener and can tell the stock is well cared for and watered regularly.

Its a family tradition to go here every year for the Gaudio Brothers (G Boys) Christmas animatronics. Lots of fun and always new. Plus you can visit Santa and get pictures.

I have frequented your property several times. However, I now live on the street behind you. Can you keep your employees in check? We dont cuss in front of my nephew. All I hear is expletives at all times of the day. I cant imagine what your customers think.

Update: I bought three elephant ears/colocasia a few months ago and they have all died. They were pretty expensive and they were tiny when I bought them, some only had a few leaves. I got home and they all had spider mites and mealy bugs, and Ive been trying for months to clean them and take care of them and now they are all dead. I have other elephant ears that are thriving, so I know how to care for them, its a bummer these were so bug infested they didnt stand a chance. This store is a wonderful hidden gem, and in some ways I would love for it to stay that way. They have an amazing selection of indoor plants, many of them rare and not at other plant stores. It is worth a drive from Philly over here, and worth the bridge toll on the way back just for a trip to this garden center. The prices also feel really reasonable on everything, although it is not a steal price wise - but I feel good about their prices compared to others I see in Philly. I would love to see a bigger variety of the smaller plants in 2 pots, but they do have a good selection already. While there on my second visit, I found some super rare elephant ears and was ecstatic. I was originally told I couldnt buy them from a younger employee, but the lady at the check out desk was very kind and found a man who could tell me yes or no officially. He corrected the previous lady and said I could absolutely buy them. Lesson learned... if its labeled Not for Sale or roped off, its not for sale. But if its not labeled, then buy the plant!

I have gone to McNaughtons on a few occasions because I enjoy the type of items they sell, but do not recommend them because it is difficult to get any sales assistance and the employees are rude and make you feel unwelcome. The owners do not care about the customer, just about making money. The prices are also pretty high for the items for sale. I dont need to be contacted, because this store can make it a better experience by training their sales persons properly and making shopping there a better value!

We needed indoor plants to decorate a shop we are opening soon. The greenhouse was spectacular! So many choices...great quality...and the staff was very helpful.

Took 4 kids for the Xmas GBoys animatronics light show ages 7-13 and 2 adults all charged adult tickets. No big deal there except the show is a tiny room with some 1970 looking plug in dolls and setup in I think 8 scenes that takes about 2 minutes max to walk by and the kids were as surprised as us 2 adults that this was it.... I was under the impression there would at least be a light show , some Xmas lights maybe with music or something to entertain for 10-15mins. The neighbors blow up lawn setups are a better bang for your buck in gas money....

My daughter and I, along with my 5 year old granddaughter visited your nursery yesterday afternoon for the first time. The visit started on a good note with your standard hellos. Our visit was primarily for houseplants and potting soil. My daughter asked about the location of the potting soil. After making a decision on the soil realized no carts were visible. I suggested to go inside to ask the sales clerk. My daughter returns with a shopping cart. Of course the potting soil bags were dirty & covered with some snow. We eventually got 2 bags in a cart. While walking back to the other building, my daughter hit a bump & the cart fell over along with both bags of soil. I see a man coming near us, clearly an employee, thinking we will be receiving assistance. Definitely not!! He just kept walking!? Clearly he could see we needed Help. Also, my granddaughter knew that her mother & grandmother needed assistance because she was attempting to lift the bags of soil. I don t know what policies you have in place, it s definitely not Customer service! Please don t use the Covid excuse! The 3 of us were masked. This is not the end of our miserable experience. After getting the bags back into the cart we made an attempt to enter the building. We get to the door, of course it s not a door with a door stopper I m struggling to open & hold the door & assist my daughter with the entrance into the store. (No flat surface) You would think the young sales clerk heard us struggling.No assistance. I asked for a paper towel or something to wipe our hands. The sales clerk struggled but found a sheet of wrapping paper. After the purchase, of course no common sense hits the young sales clerk to open the door or any assistance. My 5 year old does open the door. The point I want to make, particularly with the man that walked by us. Clearly we needed help! He had No decency to help his fellow man!? Why not? I will not be returning. I do not want to put myself through another disappointment of your staffs lack of human kindness!

I got rubber tree and philodendron Brasil from here last year around September and they are growing very nicely and went through winter well. I did visit over winter time around January. They didn t have anything outside but the greenhouse looked full with different kinds of plants. I love visiting here when they have plants outside. Also knowledgeable staffs. Deff going back for spring time

I love McNaughtons, they have a good selection of houseplants, potting soil, and pots. Ive never bothered looking at their outdoor plants so I cant really comment on that but the employees are always friendly.

First time here. Large Garden Store. Took a Bonsai course here for only $10 and a plant was thrown in. Worth going here again in spring to see what plants are offered.

I actually primarily went here for a spring craft fair. They seem to have a great selection and they were really good hosts for the fair. I cant say much to their customer service or quality since I didnt buy anything from them directly but it was a lovely place. Ill update this review if/when I go back and buy from them directly.

Wonderful experience great customer service

Pond section is an absolute mess. The nets are broken, the tubs are just holding sitting water and I found a dead fish (see pic) in one of them. Time for some spring cleaning??

Been purchasing from McNaughtons for as long as I can remember. Purchased 40 trees from McNaughtons at the end of last year. Were told that they were dug immediately before being delivered to our home. Many had brown areas. The answer given was shedding. Still the same-dead. Just spoke to Bill McNaughton. I called for a resolution. Was told that the fact that they parts of the trees were dead when delivered to our home was not McNaughtons responsibility.

Bill McNaughton should check his facts before responding. McNaughtons chose, dug and delivered 40 trees to our home. He confirmed that the company is responsible as to selling healthy trees.

I called the store 3 times and someone would pick up and hang up each time. McNaughton is McNaughty.

Just purchased few plants(rubber tree, string of hearts, philodendron Brazil, alocasia and some outdoor flowers) They are all healthy and thriving. This place is huge and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Also variety plants for indoor and outdoor. Deff coming back to get some more.

Some of the workers are so incredibly nice, however some are mean, unhelpful and dont care about any question you have. But worst yet, I ordered $200 of screened top soil dirt and it had millions of rocks in it. Ruined my backyard for my 1 year old daughter who cant play back there now. Wont be shopping there

Amazing place! I can literally spend hours here looking at the same plants. Great selection and fair prices. The plants are always healthy and well taken care of. I have purchased quite a few plants from here and they are all beautiful, no pest and thriving. The staff is always so attentive and helpful. I highly recommend this place to any plant parent looking to expand their collection.

Can t say anything about the Nursery itself but whoever was driving their pickup truck today nearly killed me after speeding up to cut me off and the slamming on his brakes. The truck had a lot of damage on the back too so itms probably not the first time this maniac has done this. I would never go here due to that driver alone. Especically because after I blew my horn at him he just shrugged at me in his mirror as if to say oh well sucks for you.

The wonderland was amazing. The provided snacks were out of this world espically the veggie pizza and wine. The store was immaculately decorated. I will be returning

The selection here is usually very good, whether you are looking for annual flowers for your spring garden, or perennial bushes for the yard. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. They also have a nice selection of Christmas decor in the fall.

I will never go here strictly because the people they seem to hire. I was behind one of their Fords driving home in the snow today. We were waiting at a light and the car behind me beeped. The McNaughtons driver must have thought it was me because he started flailing his arms around and then gave me the middle finger. Then as we continued on the route he blatantly tried to break check me IN THE SNOW. Thank god I was driving carefully and have a new car that could handle the fast breaking in the snow. I don t care how well this business fares, I will go out of my way now to go elsewhere. I will also go out of my way to let people know about this situation. I surely don t want someone working for me that s like that. Also, aren t you supposed to be representing the company you work for. You re in a company car! Business lost.

Friendly staff, very helpful. The Christmas animation show was very nicely done. Its a little dated for younger kids however the older crowd should surely love and enjoy it as I did.

The grandbabies, ages 3,4,5 loved the animatronics from Gaudios Collection and Santa was a gem...worth the trip!

They were kind enough to start the music for us in the middle of the week when we showed up hours early. My niece smiled her way through the display. How do you thank someone enough for doing that for a 2 year old. Hadnt been there in a few years...will make sure I go back next year! Thank you so very much for your kindness to a little girl.

Poor service, overpriced, owners dont care about employees once so ever. As for the customer, even less! You are simply money in their greedy wallets. Absolute disgrace of a business! I tell everyone to avoid at all costs, including licensed landscaping friends! Hope it bites the dust!

The worst customer service from their landscape guy Bob Ward. I had work done and need bricks glued that they didnt glue and tried for three weeks to get him to do it and he never showed. I also have a tree coming out or the ground and he has not come to fix that either.

Never made it to the nursery. Called them on the phone to find out how much for a yard of topsoil. Wanted them to dump it in my trailer. I have a landscaping trailer. Sorry no can do, wont dump it in my trailer unless Im a licensed landscaper. Nice racket forcing me into a delivery charge that cost more than the dirt I wanted to buy! Called up Ramblewood not only will they dump it in my trailer but theyre cheaper.

Dont waste your money on the G-Boys experience. It takes about one minute to walk through. I probably would have rated it 3 stars for the nostalgia factor if it were free like G-Boys was.

Took the kids to see their Santa and Christmas layout. It was very nice and one of the best Santas weve beet too. Spoke to my daughter about how her grades were and what chores she does around the house. Loved it!
