Robertson Garden Services: A Touch of Grass Limited in Chelmsford

I’ve used this service three times recently for general garden tidy, weeding, and pruning - and more recently laying some slate and wood chip on the flowerbeds. They are very responsive when arranging dates for visits, they are professional and reasonably priced. Will definitely use them again.

Contacted RGS for some garden clearance and hedge cutting. Overall they did a reasonable job but i would not be using them again. Positive points - Good communication with quick responses on WhatsApp and Text with transparent and reasonable pricing. Friendly workers who checked for my opinion before going too far during the day. Avoided an area where birds were nesting rather than ingnore this. Negative points - Left at the end of the day without notice or checking i was happy with the final result. Parked on my neighbours drive without approval. Missed some bushes for no reason and had to be prompted on one occasion as if it wasn't included within the days work. Seem to hesitate to do anymore cutting once two ton bags were full of waste or to do anything by hand. Just seemed to be more focused on speed rather than quality. An example being i had to point out large stones on my lawn meaning despite this i will still need to rake my lawn before cutting it again.

It's about 2 years since Robertson Garden Services started to help us with our large garden. We are pleased to be able to recommend them as we have always been very happy with their work.

From the first contact to completion of the work I was very impressed with both Jamie and Jayne. I didn’t need a lot of work but felt still felt valued as a customer. The work was carried out with no fuss and communication was great. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them and have already passed on their details to neighbours.

Hideous company. Do not use if you are looking for someone long term who is reliable. They don’t know if they are coming or going. Could never keep an appointment or would send people and they wouldn’t do everything I’d asked for. Then billing was beyond confusing, they would try and charge me for services I hadn’t had, all carried out all over text message. I paid them for a lawn treatment. My lawn now looks worse than before, see pictures of just weeds coming up... So I finally said I’m sorry I won’t use you again and settled my bill. Then weeks later they come back to me with an invoice for £120 for a hedge trim service I never had. Company is managed so poorly and has caused me stress and anxiety accusing me of owing them money that I simply don’t owe. I have included some screen shots of how many times they had to apologise to me over how disorganised they were. The guys that arrive are nice and polite but the office management and organisation is beyond a nightmare to deal with. I wouldn’t have left this review if they hadn’t come back to me with another bill, but honestly it’s been so shocking I have to log this.

Really pleased with Meg and the work she carried out. She cleared and planted a border and left everything spotless.

I must say how pleased I am with my new lawn. I was extremely impressed with Meg & her colleague who worked tirelessly throughout the day. I cannot speak too highly of them and look forward to their next visit.

We use RGS for regular maintenance in our garden and shared driveway and they always do an brilliant job. Meg and Jamie are very knowledgeable and provide great advice and suggestions. Communication is excellent and their pricing is very reasonable. I would highly recommend using RGS.
