Rakestraw Lawn Care Inc in Check

I live in the same community as Rakestraw, I used to do business with them and was happy with the work and professionalism, but no longer. My main concern is how they conduct themselves on the road, this morning they were hauling a large closed white trailer while tailgating several people, exceeding the speed limit, and going left of center in several turns. I had my two young children in the car with me and they were so close behind me with a large heavy trailer they could have never stopped without hitting us if there was any reason for a quick stop. If they can't be respectful to those in their community while on the road, there is no reason to think they will respect you or your property while peforming any work.

Am in a neighborhood with Rakestraw as the landscaper for several years. While they were great before the pandemic, the past 6 months have been particularly rough with putting holes in vinyl siding and a riding lawnmower running through my front yard privacy fence breaking 3 boards. I was at home and he did not notify me of the damage, just went onto the neighbors’ yards like nothing happened. Ended up being late to work in order to flag them down on the next street and figure out who to call. The siding (4 months) and privacy fence (1 month) have not been fixed yet but I keep being told they will be. They may give a low quote, but you will incur significant damage to your property, so they aren’t as cheap as you think. My house looks terrible right now. Neighbors have property damage to siding, gutter spouts, and flower pots. Will update my review if things get fixed. Update #1: fence has been fixed 4 weeks after reporting Update #2: siding still unfixed 8 months later. Unable to find siding that color due to pandemic shortages. Update #3: siding was fixed 1 year after reporting.

Patrick and his crew have cared for Heavens Holler B&B for many, many years. We thank them for all their hard work and give a 5 star recommendation.

I think rakestraw is a great company and can give good value to the right customer, but for us is has been a rough experience, We used them for the seasons of 2019 and through recently here in 2020. I have told them probably 10 times not to use weedeaters on our property, it is in our contract with them, but they continue to weedeat and destroy our plants. I ended up terminating our contract with them after this most recent incident when about 10 bushes were destroyed. They are the most inexpensive company around, but in my experience you get what you pay for. I appreciate Patrick taking the time to come out and look at the damage and try to make it right, but it doesn't make up for 3 years of growth on a berry bush you have been carefully tending, we'll have to start all over with it.

Rakestraw does an outstanding job mowing our lawn each week. We especially appreciate the attention to detail with edging.

The mow crew that mowed my grandmother yard did an excellent job . They were there the same day every week. they did exactly every thing I asked them to do.

I called Rakestraw Lawn Care three weeks ago to give me an estimate on running a water and electric line to my barn. They came out to measure the area, and I was told I'd have an estimate the next week. After I never heard back from them, I called and left a message to ask about my estimate. They assured me I'd hear back in the next couple of days. It's been another week, and I've heard nothing.

These guys speed around in there trucks and are litter bugs. They left Riner Grocery this morning and let empty plastic bags blow out of there truck (at least 12 of them) along Route 8 while driving 10 miles over the speed limit on snowy icy roads. There were four guys in the truck and they kept looking back at the bags blowing out and did not stop to secure them or pick up what blew out. They only sped up in order for more to blow out. I would not use them as they don't care about the community they work in.
