I tried using several of the other companies in Chattanooga for this type of service and all of them failed miserably. Grass Monkeys consistently does everything they say and my grass along with shrubs/trees are doing outstanding. I will be a forever customer as long as they keep this level of service up. I am very pleased with all that they have accomplished with my yard. I live in a house surrounded by pastures and i know it makes mine a little difficult to manage. Right now my yard is in the best shape it has been in a few years thanks to their service !! I would recommend Grass Monkey's greatly to anyone. Try them and you also will be pleased !!!!
After using Grass Minkey for several years my yard still has weeds! I have weeds in the back yard and in the front. I have called the office several time times to let them know I still have weeds and all they make are excuses. The last time i called I was informed that they had a very skilled guy, one of their best guys, that came out and if he said he sprayed my back yard then he did! I was home and watched and they absolutely DID NOT spray my back yard! i then asked if they have been spraying my yard why do I still have weeds? The office person said that wasn’t the issue!!! I think they use straight up water to spray my yard!!!
After several years of tolerating excuse after excuse why my lawn is full of weeds and brown spots I finally told them I was through.
We signed a contract with Grass Monkeys in October 2022 and paid them in FULL. Our first service was a couple days after, which went fine. That is where things went downhill. They put down winter rye grass which when it started growing was FULL of weeds. There was an issue with whether the backyard was included so I will ONLY talk about the FRONT. I have several cameras at my property and many times after they sent an invoice stating. That they had come to my property I reviewed my camera and NO ALERTS that showed Grass Monkeys. So the visit was questionable. My FRONT YARD was worse after they started treating it than it was with NO treatment. When I called to complain is the ONLY time they came out, and they gave me every excuse you could think of but never offered a fix. When they said they would come out it was NEVER on the day stated and it was NOT a weather issue. When I told them not to come back NO refund was offered for 12 months paid service which only 8 months were completed. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANY LAWN SERVICE.
UPDATE - I called last week and spoke to a lady in the office who said she would send my concern up to a supervisor. Currently waiting on a call back. In the meantime, I will post pictures of my yard and let the $800+ service speak for itself. I reviewed my records from March 2022. I was sent a standard Grass Monkeys email saying "you are scheduled for service tomorrow". They send a completely different email before seeding and aeration, telling you to pick up your yard, be sure and water every day for 2 weeks, etc. There was NO mention in the email from March saying they would seed and aerate the next day. The day of service, I received a text saying "your service is completed! The tech sprayed and fertilized. Will come back later in March and aerate." Again, ZERO mention that aeration was done. In fact, the text said they would come in the future and aerate. The lady in the office says the system defaulted and sent me that previous message again in error, but really aeration was done on that day. So my question is, how would I even know aeration was done? I was out of state for the month of March. You don't seed and aerate someone's yard without telling them. Dropping down to 1 star as I have yet to receive a call back. $800 rip off, taken for a ride with this company. ‐----------------------- I really wish it would've worked out. I purchased a year of service in spring 2021. They did aeration and seeding last fall. A freeze came right after. Last winter I received a call from them saying they would come and do spraying along with aeration and seeding in the spring 2022 at no charge, because they did it later than anticipated and a freeze came. Spring came and they did 2 rounds of service, but no seeding. Customer service was not the best as I was originally billed for the sprayings and had to track down proof that I was told it would be free. Now it is a year later, over $800 spent, and my yard is still patchy. I wish I could recommend, but I can't. -Ursula Suttle
I love the personal touch they give you in creating the best lawn ever. I went from dirt to the most beautiful lush green lawn I've ever had. My lawn is so beautiful. Thick and green. I've been using Grass Monkeys for about 4 years now and I will never use anyone else. The owner, Stephan and his crew take the time to chat with you and meet all your needs. I had Tru Green Grandfathered in on a contract and they were terrible. After extensive research and numerous quotes, grass monkeys got my money. They do appear more over priced than the competition, but you are saving time, money and headaches trying to figure out what you need to get to kill or treat the myriad of things that will affect your lawn. We get the same technician (Doug) that thoroughly explains what each treatment is for and tells us what to look out for. The lawn looks better than ever before. I highly recommend this company.
Requested a quote, they came and measured and then never heard back from them again. Go with a more professional company. **Update - They did get back to me and offered some compensation for their mistake. Changed rating based on interactions so far. Will update again if we use their service.

So happy with my lawn service provider! Grass Monkey s has done wonders for my lawn. I had a company previously and their service came with no instruction or guidance. My favorite thing about Grass Monkey s other than their customer service and reliability is their instructions on what I should be doing to maintain and support their treatments to my lawn in between each service. These instructions include how much to water, and how short to cut my grass! Could not be happier with my service.
You will not find a better company to look after your lawn. I had a disaster on my hands for years and the Grass Monkeys turned it around. I am so happy that I go outside at random times to admire my lawn. My neighbor is a bit annoyed (in a nice way) about how good it looks. The grass is healthy, green, not patchy. You will not go wrong with these people. They are top of the line.

PLEASE READ FOLLOW UP BELOW POSTED MAY 2, 2019 I moved into a house 2 years ago and the lawn hadn t been taken care off in years. I contracted with them last April and had the full fertilizer service all last year till now. I saw very little improvement with the lawn. Still lists of clover and weeds, plus the existing grass is still very thin. I do have dogs in the back that are not out side all the time and didn t expect much improvement in the back, but the the front still looks bad. I paid over 800 for the service and think it s a ripe off. Going to try another company. FOLLOW UP MAY 2,2019 I want to thank Grass Monkeys for coming and looking at my lawn today and coming up with a plan for making the lawn look better. I ve been using Steve Hupfer s Grass Monkeys for over 2 years now, and this review is way overdue! There are two things that consumers always look for when they need to hire a company for their services: Am I getting a good value for my investment, and will they stand behind their work Problem is, once the service is completed and everyone is happy, it s very easy to just say the company is the best ever and give it 5 stars. Heck, you may just get a discount if you do! But many times, the issues just don t seem to come around until afterwards right? Well, that s just not the case with Grass Monkeys. Steve stood behind his guarantee 110%!! He genuinely cares what his customers say, and was patient and understanding when listening to my concerns. When he said you need to trust me and I ll make your lawn beautiful I had my doubts, but trusting Grass Monkeys was the best move I ve made in a long time! I have one of the best looking lawns in the neighborhood and super proud when asked, how in the heck do you keep your lawn looking like that?!?! I just smile and say, ya got it get Grass Monkeys!
