You failed miserably Virginia green. You did a weed and fertilizer treatment but failed to make clear that there would be 2 charges. You had my money for aeration and seeding for about 5 weeks before you did the service. In this time frame my neighbor did his own seeding and grew a full yard of grass. I was told once the seeding was done that I should see grass starting in 3 to 7 days. Yes I watered the yard each day for 4 weeks. I was told not to cut the grass for 3 weeks. I still have not needed my lawn mower or weed eater because there is no grass. I was told my yard was a 2 year project. I should have realized you meant that I would need to pay for 2 years before I would have a yard full of grass. My neighbor has mowed several times since he and I started our yard projects. I was told by Virginia green that he got lucky. I thought Virginia green was the pros at growing grass. Don’t use Virginia green.
My lawn received fertilizer application yesterday and my lawn was covered with leaves. Without prior notification i was not able to blow the leaves off my lawn. Now that I have blown the leaves off I am not sure if any of the fertilizer got to the grass.
I'm not sure if it was the Charlottesville or Harrisonburg group that came out here, but clearly they don't check their schedule accurately and just start working on a yard without verifying it's the right house. They were evidently scheduled for our neighbor but started on OUR lawn because "the GPS took me here and my schedule says house #15"- you don't check the house number before working? It was supposed to be the house across from us. I would not have gotten mad had he just immediately taken responsibility for his mistake but instead he blamed it on that, then looked at his schedule and said oh yeah "oh I guess it is house #18..." and he just didn't take responsibility for it and made excuses as to why (like that he rang the doorbell and I didn't stop him before he started on the lawn...umm, I have a job and I'm busy and don't always answer the door for strangers that appear to be solicitors??!! I also didn't hear the door, because there was noise). My husband agrees; wish they'd just have admitted the mistake instead of excuses first, after putting holes in our lawn. I banged on the window that he was working *right in front of*, he didn't notice- I had to go outside and yell/he didn't hear me, and then jump up and down to get him to notice me and stop doing stuff to our lawn.
I would not recommend Virginia Green. Up front they appear great, however, do not hold to their promises. I initially had my yard treated for ticks, fleas, and mosquitos however it was ineffective. They promised to come and retreat however billed me for the service and did not follow through. When challenged, I was moved to several other “managers” and then told my grass was too high (although it was just cut) and then ghosted when I asked for where in the contract it advises of a specific height of grass and for pictures as my grass was just cut and the lawn service individuals only copy the same entry on each bill. I only knew they did not service my lawn due to a text discussion with the tech who also stopped communicating when I asked him regarding areas he was not treating and not doing the complimentary service. The lawn service is not effective in treating what it advertises to treat.
Virginia Green has been my lawn care company of choice for several years. The service has been outstanding in all areas including: scheduling service, the treatments themselves, follow up spot remediation as needed, detailed information to the homeowner, and ease of billing/payment. Everyone I've dealt with has been professional, competent, courteous, and all have been very patient listeners & problem solvers. Simply put: Virginia Green is genuinely worthy of a 5 star rating and have my unreserved & unconditional endorsement.
We have been in love with Virginia Green since we moved to Glenmore four years ago! We miss Trey who used to do our yard, but we are very happy to have met Hill today and he is also an outstanding worker for Virginia Green! We also enjoyed Jonathan for a couple years as he did all of our shrubbery, but it got to be a little too expensive so our son is filling in for us. There has not been an individual whether it be Joshua the branch manager. I think Jesse is in Midlothian and Dwayne is with accounts payable office that we have not liked. It has been a wonderful operation and we have greatly appreciate everyone’s hard work, especially during aerating and top seating which I hope we get Kevin again to help in September. My yard looked terrible, and they came out, after some suggestions and their chemicals, my yard has jumped back to life. Green carpet again Highly recommend them, you will be happy This is the before in May 2023 and then photo taken in November 2023 They really did a fantastic job. Ian is my lawn specialist and does an excellent job, he is also straightforward to talk to and will explain all the details. I have renewed my service, and they usually have a 5% discount in January–February. I highly recommend this service PS-use their grass seed, it works best and matched with the applications. Lawn is starting to take shape thanks to the Virginia Green folks. The poor excuse for sod the builder put down is finally starting to show signs of life

I tried treating my lawn myself for years: fertilizer, weed killers, whatever. It always looked ok in May, terrible by August. So I contacted Virginia Green. Now it looks like Augusta National. I dont know what theyre putting on it l, but it works.
I was really frustrated with my lawn until these guys, with all their local expertise, turned it into the best in the neighborhood! Super-nice people, and sensibly priced, too.

Virginia Green has gotten rid of my Wild Violet that had taken over my yard for years. It took a couple of years but the pesky Wild Violet is finally virtually gone from my yard.
We have been with Virginia green for over 7 years. While the technicians are very professional and do an outstanding job, the billing department is the worst. Just tonight my wife received an email that said our account is more than 45 days past due. I checked with my bank status and the first payment for 2022 was made on 18 March for service on 21 Feb. The service on 31 Mar is scheduled for payment on 18 April. Also the bottom of the bill states Your balance is over 35 days, service is suspended. I believe it would be better and more friendly by stating If your balance...
Complete turnaround of our lawn because of VA Green!
Weve been using Virginia Green for about two years now. We started with a VERY neglected lawn (more weeds than grass) and now we get comments on how good it looks. The weeds disappeared and the grass the grew in after they aerated/seeded is so green and soft.
All I can say is this, their TV ad is mindless, and extremely annoying. The sound is so loud, the music as grating ....please...please stop running it!!!
Great group of people who know what they are talking about - they maintain a number of other lawns in our neighborhood, too, and they all look great. Recommended!

Can you please tell your folks that handle Crozet to stop leaving marketing material in our doors? There is a clear sign at the entrance stating No Solicitation . This is not the first time this has happened. Last year, your sales person signed us up for service even though we did not agree to anything. Very unprofessional service. Very unacceptable. STAY OUT!!

Virginia Green does not seem interested in listening to you, solving your problem, or ensuring the products and services already sold atre meeting your expectations. They seem only to be interested in telling you what you are doing wrong and selling more products and services.

They show up when they say they are coming, dont waste any time covering the area, will answer any questions you have and have the knowledge for the right answers I feel they are reasonably priced for the work those little extras (tips) that you can do yourself to ensure the lawn looks great

I ve only been with them for a short while but signed up because the lawns they do in my neighborhood are spectacular and my fairly new lawn struggles. Their staff is very efficient and polite.
We have been very pleased with the company and the employees. They show when they say they will and dont treat the lawn when the weather is unfavorable ( like their competitor who we went with before) We have seen an improvement with our lawn and look forward to a beautiful yard!
