DO NOT USE TRU GREEN!! I started service with them about a year ago. I was hoping they would do what they said - show up and kill my weeds. A year later and my yard is worse than it has ever been! On top of that in the past month I have made over 6 calls to try and get them to come back out. Several no shows and multiple promises from management they still have not showed up. Some of the worst customer service I have ever received for a product that doesnt even work. They are theives.

Explanation of things that needed to be done were unclear and some very contradictory. One statememt made about my Bermuda grass lawn, when we have tall fescue grass. Weeds have not been controlled. When I called about areas of grass dying; person who came out couldnt tell me if it was army worms or what. Sprayed for insect control that day and told me he was putting out fertilizer.. Then I got a call telling me that fungus had been noted and they wanted to come out for fungus application. Fungus had never been mentioned before. Tomorrow they are coming for another fertilizer application when one was just done a month ago, The person who came for aeration and over seeding was the only one that I thought knew what he was doing.

Fred arrived at scheduled time. He was courteous and explained what he was going to do.

I am completely satisfied with the service and each application has helped my overall care for my yard.

What a absolute joke, day one with the sale over the phone we confirmed we will have true day down time would be given the day before never happened. I said at length this is a rental property it would be detrimental to business and a bad review from guest please come after check out at 11, I get a text this morning at 6:30 tech is in route, I call no answer then he calls and said he s on site, I confirmed through multiple phone calls to call me before going to property and need a eta before hand. Then the tech said I ll see if I can come later. No absolutely not absolutely don t give this company your time or money the inadequacies are mind boggling with simple schedules time slots Eta lack of communication.

I had TruGreen come out to help with my new yard. The sales representative that came out to give me my first quote got the type of grass wrong so when they came to service it, it got burnt. I called them and complained and said that my yard looked even worse after several services compared to prior to the first service. The manager came out to look and said the only thing that they could do is aerate and seed but I would have to pay for it even though they are the ones who burnt my yard. They had another sales rep, come out and attempt to talk me into more services and never offered to fix the damage that they had done. To sum it all up, they ruined my yard and asked me for more money to fix the problem that they created. You re better off going with a local service that actually cares about their customers instead of just wanting to cash checks regardless of results.

I wanted this service to work! We purchased a brand new home with over an acre of weeds. 3 months with TruGreen we still have a yard full of weeds. Seeding has been scheduled and canceled by them multiple times. No one from my local office will reach out to rectify this situation or refund me the money we have already spent. What a joke. Called me day and night for over a week trying to earn my business and its crickets after you gained a customer.

Since I started using them they had to keep coming back out to treat my yard it seemed like it made my yard worse than what it was. It seems like everybodys having the same problems and all they say is thank you well look into it but they literally killed my grass how will I be able to get that back

The absolute worst! They didnt let anyone know about Army Worms! My neighbor used Fine Turf and didnt have any problems. Its upto your lawn service to let you know if there is a problem. I have used Trugreen for years. They let me down. Use Fine Turf!

I am revising my review. This service was totally disappointing. They could never get the treatment plan right. I had to call numerous times to get someone to correct the issue. Every time, I was told a different story by customer service. When they did apply a treatment, it did nothing to improve my lawn. For a company that wanted to charge me over $100 a month for very little results. I canceled my account.

Reliable, knowledgeable, conscientious, and courteous. TEON J is an excellent representative for TruGreen. Would love to have service my lawn all the time.

Extremely disappointed in the services. Used them for 6 months and tried to give them time to make a difference in my yard and it looks no better. I have weeds everywhere and then they came out and started randomly spraying and killing the grass in my yard. Didn t even spray the weeds just randomly sprayed lines in the yard. Should have listened to the bad reviews before wasting my money. Do yourself a favor and find another company to take care of your yard. When someone came out to look at the weeds in the yard when I complained they said they made a note of it for the next visit and tried to sale me on mosquito treatment and said there was a large presence of mosquitos in my yard. This was a complete lie because I have used mosquito joe for years and have not seen a mosquito since I used them.

I wouldnt recommend this company to anyone. I signed up for their services at the beginning of the year because I had some weeds. They came out and sprayed and the grass thinned out. I called in after the first application to point out the poor results and asked that the next application be postponed. They still sent someone out to spray again. This time, the treatment killed 75% of the grass. I now how a brown and patchy (bald spots) lawn. I called in again and was told that a soil test would be performed. Months went by and I had to keep calling to get these soil test results. Once the results came in, no one called to explain what the results meant and more importantly no one could tell me what steps the company would take to rectify the situation. Ive been trying to get a resolution for several months now and even requested a refund on the treatments that killed my grass still no response. I did however, receive a call from one of their sales reps trying to sale me additional services to grow back the grass that they killed. At this point, it feels like they use this treatment to ruin peoples lawns, so they have to buy additional services to bring it back to life. Very dissatisfied at the results and the fact that I now have to battle with my HOA on the appearance of my lawn.

Like many others.... so disappointed. I wonder if they are even using fertilizer?? My yard looked 100 times better 3 months ago. Plus between the techs spraying pellets all over the driveway and sidewalk, apparently spilling in certain areas of the yard (large yellow/burnt areas soon after last service visits) and horrible communication, they dont follow directions on my profile (being told someone would be here on a certain day and no show/no call). I had hoped things would improve after the service manager calls but nope. Need to call again to get another discount for poor service and retreatment for these never ending weeds that they never treat effectively!

They are trying to charge me after I canceled my service.Because each time they came just for mosquitoes, they seemed to got worse and worse.Customer service is a joke.The lady was completely unprofessional and would not listen. They even came out several times to spray after the initial spray and nothing seemed to work.Customer service is definitely a zero

On 8/14 Mr. Donte Vance come service they note Mechnical spray , after 3 day on Saturday I call them to tell my yards is brown and die , they say wait sone one call back but no buddy call ?? Monday I call agian the guy talked and hang up thst agents Indian Trail . I call different numbers lady pick and I explain what s happened to my yard I need take care before too late , Today 8/20 Mr. Colin Lockhart came inspection , I m was not home he note need water , thirsty . I don t know how long he does this job? And how much experience he got? I would tell true green need see over them employees , and whst s they does. Cannot lier , Csn not excuse any reason? Have to be respectful what s wrong they did? My house have irrigation system , with well water , I drain water 3 hours in the morning , 3 hours in afternoon , should think no one uses more than that time , why note watter need ???? I am not a TruGreen customer, but a neighbor of mine is. I am 83 years old and was struggling to get up a hill to reach my neighbors house. It was a very hot day. A kind TruGreen employee saw me struggling and came over to help me up the hill, then walked me back to my own house. His name is Jose, and I hope his employer recognizes what a fine person he is.

The mosquito treatment really works. I ve tried to do my own in coordination with a pest control company, and for 2 years it didn t work. Last year and now this year, I ve barely seen mosquitoes on my property! One gentleman that works there named Kendell, does a great job, worthy of the bill!!

I was impressed with the Djares. I was worried about my yard and he spoke with me and advised me of what I needed to do on my end. He was very informative

I have video surveillance at my property (Ring) and upon viewing the footage TruGreen was at my property for four minutes, and did not apply product to my actual lawn. Trugreen also did not touch or enter my side yard or backyard. TruGreen walked the perimeter of my lawn creating a box around my yard (spraying along the road, spraying along the driveway) but not the actual lawn. Had I not had video footage TruGreen would have essentially scammed me out of my money. This would be a completely different situation if the staff tried to do the lawn and perhaps an inexperienced person missed some of the yard but the staff did not spray any of the actual yard. I have cancelled my service and will be switching to a competitor.

TruGreen Lawn Care is horrible. I paid them for 1 year of service. When they finish with my lawn I had brown spots, bald spots and weeds EVERYWHERE. If you care about your lawn DO NOT USE TRUGREEN LAWN CARE.

We used TruGreen two years ago and had some minor issues. We let them talk us into trying them again this year. They sprayed the wrong chemical on our yard and killed the grass in patches. Also, we have weeds galore! Will never use again.

I ve made a huge mistake. I had TruGreen for a few years and finally reached my breaking point w how poorly they treat their customers, and canceled. The next year I was promised many things if I gave them another try, and did. They were great for a few months, and then back to the same old story. Horrible communication, no personal care, numerous broken promises, completely treated as just a number. Definitely regret giving the second chance.

The technician you have makes a difference! Today I had Daniel for my tree/shrub insect and pest treatment. He was very thorough and had a smiling face!

I love these guys. They have taken care of my lawn and are top notch. I also have added services and received a discount because I use multiple services. The best thing was I just had a service done that had some things missed. After calling them, they immediately put in for someone to come fix it. Top notch, well worth the cost for a great lawn. The techs also offer great advise to help you understand how to improve the health of your yard.

Was long time customer. This branch is very bad, customer service, management don t care about there customer. They destroyed my lawn for a week can t even get phone call back.

I was able to finally meet the service specialist who does my yard. Shamario was excellent! He was able to explain what was being applied and how it will help my lawn. He was also able to answer the questions I had regarding my lawn.

As I dont have the time anymore to fertilize and do weed control, etc.. I have used TruGreen lawn service for over 30 years now and they help me keep my lawn weed free and green. :)

Requested an aeration last year and was clear it was to be a one-time, non-recurring service, which the salesperson was more than eager to agree to. The service only yielded 1/2in deep plugs, but i shrugged it off. Fast forward a year, and a technician shows up unannounced and my wife had to run out the door to stop him as he was aerating my yard again. She explained that we did not request service and he apologized and went on his way. He noted it was 50% done on his paperwork, but still marked the service complete. Despite speaking with the tech, and customer service, and a local manager who all confirmed I would not see a bill, a bill was still sent for $222 for the service. It took two calls after that to get a confirmation sent to me that the charge was removed. It was also explained that Trugreen only does recurring services and the salesperson should have told me that I could do a one time service, which he did. Trugreens business practices are horrible, i feel like they attempted to scam me by sneaking in an unrequested service. Luckily my wife was at home to stop them, or else i could still be on the hook. And even after all the rain we had several days prior, the few plugs he pulled were still no bigger than 1/2in. I would not recommend Trugreen to anyone.

I had to make three service calls for lawn service. The first call was they service the wrong house they tried bill me for it. The second call for the same service the technician stated that he could not find my home. I called again for service again and the technician stated that my address was not in the GPS, which is strange because I had a technician here two months ago and they found the address but no problem. FedEx UPS Amazon has no problem with my address.

Im truly so pleased to see how well TruGreen upkeeps my entire lawn and yard. Ive never seen a single weed pop up in all these months. Kudos to TruGreen and your dedicated team!

Did a great job and very respectful of our property!

I was very skeptical for the first year. My yard didnt look any better, it actually looked worse in some places. I felt like weeds had overtaken my entire yard. Then they aerated and seeded in the fall. We watered faithfully every night for at least 2 weeks after that to help the grass grow and get established. It wintered over and WOW!!! This spring my yard looks like a totally different yard. There are still areas that need help and that will take time. But overall, we actually have real grass and not just weeds! Its green and thick and gorgeous. Im so glad I didnt give up that first year. Because of these results, I will keep resubscribing each year.

My aeration service was mediocre, the tech showed up with a mud-packed machine and pulled plugs one inch not the requisite length of three to four inches. The saving grace of this service was that customer service was understanding and refunded my payment.

I ve had TruGreen in the past and gave them another opportunity again against my better judgement a couple of months ago. I signed up for their 7 application plan and prepaid for the services because this year I wanted to let a professional company do the job for me. The representatives I ve spoken with have been nice but the work by the technicians have been horrible. The first application was done at the end of February and I noticed after 6 weeks that I had many weeds growing in my back yard and my side yard. I called TruGreen to have them come out to respray the weeds and the technician Matt who came out was unprofessional, condescending and argumentative. He told me he wouldn t spray the backyard because it wasn t in his work order. I explained that was my problem area and that was my reason for calling in but he refused. I told him to forget about it and not do the work because he was being unprofessional and difficult. I immediately called TruGreen to cancel my service but was convinced by the representatives to keep the service and let another tech come out and do the job. The way assured me that I would have a better experience. The latest technician came out today and spent a total of 5 minutes on my lawn and still didn t do the backyard which I verified on my Nest camera. I called TruGreen again and this time I canceled my service with them. The representatives are very professional but they re not the one taking care of my lawn. All three of the technicians that came to my house did a poor job, didn t follow instructions and one was extremely unprofessional.

We ve have been a customer for 3 years and have nothing but excellent service. One gentleman Aaron has been to our home several times and has always been on time answered any questions my husband has asked. He takes his time to get the job done right the first time. I think I ve only had to call for a retreatment once since we ve been their client. Kudos to TruGreen and Aaron too !

Called Customer Service about a past due charge that I didnt even know I had because I didnt renew the service. If I wanted the service, I would have renewed it, but not when dealing with TruGreen. Customers beware of TruGreen Lawn Cares continuous service policy. If you do not call to cancel their service, they will continue to charge you for the service. You would think that they would call to verify or just end the service because it was not renewed, which makes me question their business practices. And they dont even have this cancellation option on their website. Be cautious .

Dylan, the Manager, started the visit by introducing himself and explaining the products being used for this visit. He reemphasized the time for pets to remain away from the treatment and when it was safe to be on the yard. Information was left outlining the application & contact info.

Why would anyone pay about $1000 a year to have a 20 year old come out and spray for 10 minutes when for less than $250, you can do it yourself and know who did it and who spent the time to ensure it looks good? Just doesnt make sense.

Luke Stawick is our specialist and he came early in the morning the day our service was scheduled and sprayed every square inch of our lawn. We thought with how rough our yard was that the statements made by Trugreen might have been too good to be true, but with Luke s help they all started to curl and die. He left us with a report of what to expect in the future and what we need to do on our side.

Things are going good. I watered like the suggested. They should of let me know not to mow for 7 days I believe. When I called they told me. The only thing that needs to get better at this time is communication on when they are scheduled to come to my place. They let me know day of service heads up needs to please happen before that please.

Will not choose this company due to the fact that their sales team has tried to call me 12 times in a span of 4 hours. No customer service.

The lawn service has been exceptional in carrying for my lawn! Today s lawn Technician Elias was extremely professional in applying the fertilizer to my lawn.The look of my lawn shows the professional care, by being very healthy with little to no weeds growing in it! I will continue to rely upon TrueGreen for keeping my lawn healthy and beautiful!

Although I like the professionalism she did not share some key questions that I had for her about the results of my yard thats the only complaint

I used TruGreen for 2-3 years in Charlotte and my lawn got worse over that time. Very disappointed in the experience and do not recommend. I canceled my subscription and explained to them why. However, to my surprise they renewed my service and I had to call again to cancel and they continued ask why when we had already discussed why...anyways, its a waste of money. I gave them a 2 because the app and notifications are pretty decent.

They std behind there guarantee by providing responsive service in between feedings.

I strongly advise you go with another company for your lawn care service. I paid upfront to get five treatments. I received my first treatment more than six weeks ago and I haven t heard from them since. Oh, and my lawn looks terrible. Full of brown spots, patches, and weeds. And you know we ve had plenty of rain here lately, so you would expect it to be lush and green, but no.

They started off great but slowly stopped paying attention to what the lawn needed and my instructions on which area of my lawn to address. Just the other day they said they were coming in to AERATE the lawn - in JULY! Who does that? I was not home at the time and they said they could not aerate because I had sprinklers in the lawn, which I do not. I have some termite traps up by the house and I guess they dont know what termite traps or sprinkler heads look like. I looked on my camera and saw them put some seed or something on the neighbors lawn but not mine - very strange. Also a very aggressive associate called me to tell me that I needed to address the bugs in some bushes by the house. I have an exterminator for that and do not need their bug service nor did I ask for it from them. He was very rude on the phone and I wound up hanging up on him. Im waiting for my contract to run out and will be canceling.

Lawrence pulls up accesses my lawn notifies me of anything I need to do on my part, tells me what hes doing on todays service and then proceeds. I truly see the changes that are being made in my yard already!

Today had the best service from Trugreen. Very complete and thorough. Great additional notes on the work order when finished, seemed to be more precise than the standard ones on past visits . All around Cameron was the best specialist we have had. Paid special attention to not overspray near the vegetable garden, two thumbs up.

The people who do the service are great and friendly, but sometimes there are misunderstandings as certain one-time changes are implemented by the homeowner . The normal service doesn t always resume as requested. Ask that question the next time a change request is made!

TruGreen continues to ring our doorbell after repeatedly asking them to stop. I made the guy show me the notes today and it clearly stated to ring the doorbell. These little college kids they have servicing our yard are just a nuisance with respect to a simple wish and clearly blatantly continue to update our notes to continue upsetting us by ringing the doorbell.

Van walked my property with me and performed in a conscientious manner. Professional. Positive

DO NOT under any circumstances contact Tru Green if you only have one question, or arent sure what you want to do yet. Tru Green does nothing short of harass you repeatedly to get your business... I made that mistake and have told three different representatives I am no longer interested and have been bombarded with multiple calls, and text from three different representatives now. I had to block their numbers after telling them I was no longer interested, and theyre still finding ways to contact me. It is so silly that I honestly have to even write this kind of review.

LeBron was very pleasant and courteous. He followed my instructions and I was satisfied with todays service.

Waste of money. There was no benefit to our yard and when they tried to aerate the first time- they wanted to do it in August when its 100 degrees and the grass is very dry - when they came back to do it in late September - it was done poorly. Both the aeration and over seeding. There was very little seed and sparse aeration. We called them back 3 times. Do not hire this company.

Absolutely awful. We have used them for a while and have been completely unsatisfied. I finally canceled this morning after my credit card being charged for an unapproved service that they came and performed while I was at work with no notice of any additional charges to the contract agreement price. When calling customer service about it they agreed to cover only half of the bill because the service had already been performed. I then had to call back after not receiving any confirmation of the reimbursement or cancellation of service only to find out that the customer service representative in fact didn t complete any of this on my account. I strongly recommend using some one else.

Erica was prompt with arrival today and responsive to my service request; however I noticed that the service vehicle was parked on the lawn that I m paying you to treat and was driven over an area that appears to be burnt (no growth).

The only thing is that it was too early, beside that everything was done in a quality manner.

I would give zero stars if I could. Buyer Beware! Your yard will look exactly the same or worse when you started the service and you will get hit with unauthorized charges for services you did not ask for or approve. I should have read these reviews BEFORE I decided to use this company. In October 2022, the sales rep I spoke to indicated ALL services/visits were covered for the first year if I paid upfront in full, which is what I did. Only for lawn service, no tree or shrub services. I never knew in advance when they were coming. I would get texts or emails stating they were on their way or at the house but those usually were the morning of the supposed service visit. Sometimes the tech would at least appear to walk/treat the entire yard, other times I am not really sure what they did other than walk in the back yard and plant the little flag. I already had a reminder on my phone to call and cancel the service before my one-year mark to ensure I was not charged for any additional services/visits. Needless to say I was shocked when I received a charge for a aeration and overseeding visit, which I was not aware was about to happen and sure was not aware was going to be an additional charge to me. I called customer service to question the charge because again I was told ALL services/visits for the first contract year were included if I paid in full. I asked several times to speak to a Supervisor and/or be transferred to a Manager that could make a decision to provide a refund. The customer service rep told me they had authority to make those decisions and proceeded to offer a $50 refund to keep me as a customer. I was charged $822, in what world is $50 considered a refund equal to that amount? So much for their TruGreen Satisfaction Guarantee. I also asked to have a Manager or Supervisor call me to discuss the refund and was told to not be surprised when it didnt happen but I could feel free to call back at any time. Now I m left with a back yard that looks the same as it did before we began service and I am out additional money for services I did not authorize them to perform. I will never use this company again!

We shall see if they can move up on the scale with continued attentive work and communication.

I have just moved and received my grass in very bad condition. Hire TruGreen services expecting to improve grass health within a year. I just hope so! The service has been punctual, professional and at a reasonable price.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!!!!! I am new to the area so I called asking if they mow lawns and the guy told me yes!!!!! We talked about mowing my lawn for a whole FIVE minutes and turns out they DONT EVEN MOW LAWNS!!!!!! He signed me up to have it mowed and ADDED the service to have fertilizer done. I get a $50 charge on my card the next day saying they came out and put fertilizer down and they DID NOT COME. Nobody came to do anything they are liars!!! NO knock on my door or no text in advance because nobody came!!!! I can t even get my $50 back and I would have never made an appointment if I knew they only fertilize and don t mow lawns! Having my lawn mowed was the whole reason I called! LISTEN TO ALL THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS THEY WILL SCAM YOU FOR YOUR MONEY I WAS SCAMMED!!!!!

Isaiah and his teammate were excellent in doing the aeration and seeding and paid attention to detail. They even told me how many times to water. Tony the fertilizer guy was amazing. Great customer service overall.

Were done here. Have had a few instances of afternoon service window of 5 hours that was missed. It happens. Nail in coffin, I had discussed with TruGreen SEVERAL TIMES, liquid application only. Tech showed up with granular, I told him no. He left, and TruGreen billed me $100. I told cust svc, If I pay for it, yall arent coming back. They cut the bill in half, and cancelled my lawn service. Now, Im paying $50 for a service I told them multiple times, I didnt want.

Do not use. My lawn has never looked as bad. The Technician Broke a fence post and I m still waiting to hear back from them to fix it. Never again

Horrible service and communication

This is by far the worst company. They have RUINED my grass. Not to mention I have been trying to get in touch with my maintenance manager for 2 months and have received NO call back or email from him. His communication with his clients is a PRIME example of the service you get when using their company. I am cancelling service now and will give NEGATIVE reviews to anyone that crosses my path about trugreen. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND QUALITY OF WORK. We were about to move forward with a different landscaping company when your specialist Cory rang our bell. He was so friendly, knowledgeable and confident in Trugreens services that we had no choice but cancel our original service and immediately sign with Trugreen. And he was right about everything he told us. The specialists that have come out are efficient, friendly and do a great job with every visit. We have been impressed by the portal where we can get updates on our lawn care, and see what our plans next steps and services include. Thank you for the great experience so far! And an extra shout out again to Cory- he was truly PHENOMENAL!

Signed up for lawn services and tree and bush maintenance. Our previously new sod yard now looks like this. I lost a dogwood tree and our weeping redbud is also on the way out-- completely understandable if they never received any fertilization or pest management. After watching our latest service visit and realizing they did a single pass through my lawn and did not treat the trees and shrubs at all, I can now understand why my lawn looks like a weed bed, and I have one completely dead tree that had to be removed and the other is on its way out. Absolute worst company ever. Do not recommend. This was a green lush fresh sod lawn a year ago. I am out hundreds of dollars for services I did not receive and hundreds of dollars of dead vegetation. You be the judge.

Stay away. Waste of money

My yard looks worse than it did before I spent $800 with TruGreen. They offered to send a specialist to check on my lawn and see why I wasn t satisfied. The so called specialist left a message and said that trying to kill the weeds would damage the seeding they completed few weeks back. My yard is FULL of yellow spots and FULL of weeds. I would NOT recommend this service. They say your satisfaction is guaranteed. Well, guess what? It isn t and you will literally just trash your money

Beware. I do not subscribe to TruGreen, never have. I have a neighbor 7 houses down the street that they were supposed to service. Instead they fertilized my yard and threw my soil balance off. I have already done my seasonal lawn application and maintenance. Holding my breath this has not damaged my turf. (Side note, the amount of Nitrogen they used is extremely too high for the time of year and the Phosphorus and Potassium levels were way too low for a proper application.)
