I was scheduled for my first service on July 31. My service provider came in the afternoon and I open the door to let them know basically that someone was home. They started my lawn care after about a half hour. They just left leaving all the clippings and everything everywhere, not finishing the job at all. When I call lawn starters they informed me that the provider said that I canceled it in the middle of the service which I did not. I looked out the window and they were gone. They tried to reschedule me but no one still showed up , I was supposed to have the service done by that Saturday still no one showed up when I called Monday morning I couldn’t get through any of the outlets they had was disconnected. Thanks for nothing. Thanks for leaving my yard a mess. This is nowhere professional.
Would give 0 stars if I could. Had a set schedule of every 2 weeks and they missed my yard for a month. They went through 3 different companies and when the last company finally came out they didn’t do the back yard saying LawnStarter didn’t pay them to do that. I reached out to the company independently of LawnStarter and found out they were getting paid $30 of the $65 I was paying LawnStarter. Their customer service has been useless all 3 times I have reached out. A huge scam, do not use.
I have contacted LawnStarter FIVE times to try and schedule lawn service after my "pro" missed my mowing my lawn for a week. Each time I was assured I would be contacted by a new crew. It did not happen. It has been three weeks since my lawn has been mowed, so now I have to mow an overgrown lawn in a heat advisory. I have used Lawnstarter for three years, but will now look elsewhere. I am very disappointed in this service. 8-28-24 Update I talked to a customer service rep who was absolutely amazing. He went far and above "customer service" to provide a crew who was able to mow my lawn the next day. I appreciate the commitment to excellence of this representative!
I can’t even begin to explain the joke of a service this is. Do not use this company. 1st cut happens and that’s it. You’ll never see another crew cutting your grass again. No one cut it for 2 weeks after I spent multiple days rescheduling crews and they would just keep pushing out the dates while my grass was growing out of control. Don’t fall for this scam. I can’t wait to get a full refund and go back to paying more for a more reliable and legitimate mowing service. 1 star company, 5 star joke.
Lawn service was great at first, always showed up and did a good job. I haven't been able to get someone out in close to a month. They keep scheduling crews and no one shows up. I have reported the problem in app to no avail. Very disappointed as I loved lawnstarter in the beginning.
LawnStarter has been a positive experience so far. Easy to signup and Austin did a great job cutting my grass as well as trimming the bushes.
I was a customer for over a year. I had some unsatisfactory crews and one that was great. The last crew did a shoddy job but I did not take the time to complain. On the last mow, it was the worst job yet but, again, I didn't complain. I should have. The trick is they don't cut the grass as short, so that on the next mow they can charge a "long grass fee." Also, this fee increased from $25 to $45 dollars with no notice. I disputed the fee and raised other concerns but was only sent back an auto response advising me to upgrade my service to once a week to avoid the fee in the future. For a year I had biweekly mows without extra fees- now, all of a sudden, I need once a week service? The last mow, due to the long grass fee, they charged me $101!! What a scam! They absolutely stole my money and got away with it.I cancelled immediately after being a faithful customer for over a year. It may seem slightly lower than other services but they will take whatever amount of your money they choose without your permission and there is nothing you can do about it.
Horrible business model. Had many crews assigned to me and no one showed up. Several times they said they were coming and then I got a message that service was complete - with no one ever showing up at my property. The support team was great. Wish they could come out and mow my lawn. In 3 months I could only get my lawn serviced once! Keep looking for another service!

I emailed my service pro to move my grass Cut date up, received text from Jacob (Onekoolkat) that he would come out early. For reference: schedule cut was for Thursday-Friday, but pro stated he would come out the weekend before, but never showed or texted or called - I reached out to help@LawnStarter and relayed the below information, they rescheduled with a different pro for this week on Tuesday Wednesday- no one came. This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! This is POOR POOR POOR SERVICE! I will not recommend you to anyone and I ll make a comment to the BBB services! My grass is extremely over grown and now I see that -the company- moved my date to next week! Now not only is my grass overdue, I now have been put out again on not getting my grass cut. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This is the second time I ve used them with poor service!
LawnStarter has been a God send for my mother who can no longer mow her own lawn. Given that I dont live in the area, I can only subscribe to a service to assist her. LawnStarter, with Detric and his team, has done an excellent job!

Just awful communication
Very cheap but provider is constantly changing. the app is buggy. If you need to call your provider you cant you hace to text through the app. I find it difficult to explain my expectations over text. Plus if I need a cleanup or tree work lawnstarter charges me a 20% premium on top of their price. I had $900 dollar tree job which I paid $1080 for because of the middle man markup. Any money I saved over the year on cheap mpwings went down the drain right there. I switched to a local provider which is not all that much more expensive but I get what I expext from a lawn care company. I used them for about half a season but I feel like its a you get what you pay for situation. I gave two stars rather than one because its cheap but thats about all it has going for it. In response to the response from lawnstarter. No thank you. Ive found a quality local service. Gig economy works for a lot of things but I feel that in a contractor type setting you need to be able to speak directly to the person who is providing service for you. The contractors product is the work provided. The tech companies product is the app. I woukd rather only deal with the company whose product is the appearance of my yard and adding a middle man only deteriorates the value of the product.
Always fast and efficient. If there is an extra job needed, such as tree care, they are able to work with your schedule. I have used their services for over a year and am very thankful they continue to provide such good service.
we set up contract and now impossible to get set up with an appointment. no one responds or when you do get online says sorry you rescheduled appointment twice sorry??????? never had one set, cancelling. not worth the hassles
Was texted twice that Id be contacted via phone. I was told that none of the calls went through because it shows up as Potential Scam on my phone. Unfortunately this is not true, as I never received any calls. After finally getting in contact, I was randomly hung up on. It makes sense why there are sparse recent reviews. The whole discussion was basically a script.
Absolutely one of the worst companies I ve dealt with. They are cheaper than most options, but even so, I couldn t advise against using this company strongly enough. To start, after calling about 3 times, I have never gotten an answer and have waited up to an hour on hold to speak with an agent. I left a number for callback and either never get a call back, or got one days later and not during business hours on the east coast. Coincidentally, if you indicate you are interested in signing up, someone answers almost right away. After they re getting your money, it s extremely difficult to get a representative on the phone to help you. The crew they sent to my house destroyed an in ground termite repelling device by running it over with a mower, arrived late, completed half of the mowing, and none of the leaf removal that I had booked, but charged me for everything. LawnStarter has disappointed me in every department and does not deserve your business.
Terrible!!! Guy rescheduled twice and then never came. Got an email saying it was done and he never came. NO STARS DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
When I first signed up and my crew came out. They did an amazing job. But next 2 times not so good and I was charged for long grass. Even though when they came on my second cut, it was a 1 man show and he was late getting to me. And the third cut, they showed up almost 3 hrs late and thats after messaging me the day before, to say they will be at my home at 7:30am.
Im finding my way thru their universe of Lawn Care. A 3 visit minimum is their Starter service. I liked my Crew(Shawn) who actually did the work. I may like them better after three visits, OK? What pleased me most: I contacted them Monday morning. My yard was cut Tue.
I had a scheduled appointment with them and no one showed up. I texted through the app and there was no response. This would have been my first service appointment with them. I called the next day and they said oh I see no one showed up, sorry we will try and have someone there in 72 hours. I said no thank you.

I have waited over a month for my lawn to be mowed. Im still waiting. They keep canceling my service due to bad weather which has never been the case. There is no urgency or priority to how they provide service.
I requested service from Lawnstarter through thumbtack, where there were multiple good reviews. Service was rescheduled only to show. This caused confusion and worry. When I arrived home from work, my lawn was butchered. The grass was horribly uneven, the edging as part of the lawn care was not provided, and clippings were not blown off hard surfaces, such as my AC condenser. I immediately cancelled my service, to learn about the 3 cut minimum not being a guarantee, but a contract. I called support as the 3 cut minimum was not feasible for me at this time, nor was I aware that this was a mandatory contract for all intents and purposes. I was told by support that waiving it would be no problem and I would not receive additional service. Imagine my surprise when I am relaxing in my home and hear that my yard was being destroyed again! Do not engage with this company, they have been shady in multiple ways.
Destroyed two flower beds on two separate occasions. Got a $15 credit for my troubles. Not sure how they thought 3-4 foot jalapeño plants and sage bushes were grass.
They cut down my pineapple sage, jalapeno plants, and tomato plant. Weve been using them for several months, and today the person they sent cut every plant we had down. We immediately canceled our service. i do not recommend them, all they offered was a 15 dollar discount off of services. Those plants were 6 months old, and took a lot of work to maintain. I just had surgery so, I havent been out to weed them in a month, but they were still noticeablely plants, not weeds. Extremely disappointed.
They are a scam They mowed my lawn 1 time and charged me for at least 2 times, maybe 3. Next credit card statement may have 3rd charge. Working with bank for a refund. Dont use them.

I have had biweekly mows scheduled since March but the biweekly mow has never occurred. It is now August and the lawn has only been mowed 7 times when it should have been mowed 12 times. I have wrote to there support numerous times and they repeatedly try to get you to not cancel your order with them and they will schedule someone to mow ASAP. the last scheduled mow took 4 weeks to complete and this scheduled mow is going on 5 weeks. They do not have adequate staff to complete scheduled services and make excuses when they fail. In the 5 months of my service I have been assigned now 7 different crews assigned to mowing my lawn-some showed up, most did not.
I tried to hard to make it work. Almost every appointment was rescheduled. The lawn was usually mowed uneven. The crew was changed almost every time. If the crew showed up, they wouldn t complete the mow because they couldn t access the back gate....even though it was in the instructions 2x. Really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.
Brandon and his crew are just outstanding they ve been my mayor throughout the summer. Your professional prompt and do a very very good job. I highly recommend them

I only order their basic lawn mowing service, but they do a fantastic job. Edges are clean and tight pavement is cleared of debris. But it doesnt stop there, the customer service is responsive and works answer your questions.

Lawnstarter and Amador have been a great experience. They communicate via email and a phone application. I can reach them at my convenience and Amador did a great job clearing and cleaning up after my neglected lawn.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! I left a company I used for 3+ years and took a chance with LawnStarter...and I m so glad I did! I m blessed to have Alejandro as who I consider my own personal yard professional (even though he comes from a great company). So far I ve had regular mowing/edging, all my shrubs trimmed and leaves/junk from oaks picked up and I couldn t be happier! He did an EXCELLENT job!!! In addition to having a great lawn professional, the app to manage my account and requests is super easy and convenient. I highly recommend you take a chance on LawnStarter...you ll be happy you did!

DO NOT USE LAWNSTARTER!!! This service gets zero stars from me. A complete sham. The first time somebody came out they missed large patches of grass and did not edge my walkway. I requested that they come back and fix it but they never showed up. At that point I called and complained and I scheduled a new crew to come out and try again, but they marked the service complete and never showed up. I scheduled yet another crew to come out and they again marked the service complete but never showed up. So at that point I called and complained AGAIN...I agreed to schedule the service one more time and this time someone did come but they failed again to edge the walkway and missed portions of the grass. I messaged and asked him to come back so a fix was scheduled and he never showed up but did mark it complete...At that point I was done with Lawnstarter. They charged me for three complete services when I never even got one service completed. I canceled my account and requested a refund. This dragged out over a month and was a complete hassle and waste of my time. So frustrating...DO NOT USE LAWNSTARTER!!!!
