Spring Rise Landscaping LLC in Chambersburg

In May of 2024 we had Spring Rise clean our Koi pond filled with over $4000 worth of Koi that we have had for over twenty years. This was only our second time working with Spring Rise as our previous pond caregiver recently retired. They left our fish out overnight in a container that was not suitable for them, and they suffocated to death due to the lack of circulation in the water. In the morning we found the fish floating. While the fish had been removed from the pond for previous cleanings performed by different companies, they had never been out of the pond in a small container for more than a few hours. It was a traumatic experience for our family as well as the children in the neighborhood who loved to visit the pond. Spring Rise charged my family for the dirt to fill in the pond. It looks like a massive grave. While they did provide a discount, it does not cover the financial loss we experienced from losing our Koi as well as the emotional loss of our beloved fish. In speaking with the owners, there seems to be little to no remorse for what happened. They made money off of killing our fish. I recommend staying away from Spring Rise Landscaping, especially if you are a pet owner.

Lousy followup. Lousy quality of topsoil. Incomplete removal of old pavers before laying down topsoil that is essentially gravel and clay. Failure to take responsibility for the work. Update (8 April 2024). Spring Rise made good on the promises to restore the landscaping. New (and more appropriate) plantings there installed. All very wrll dine. Excellent communication this time.
