Gregs Lawn & Landscaping replaced an old retaining wall for me. They did a tremendous job and exceeded my expectations! The new wall looks incredible! June 2024 - Gregs Lawn & Landscaping installed a new retaining wall along the North side of my property this time. The crew that worked on this wall were all top notch, friendly, and very professional. Bruce Palmer, Johmoy Russell, Kirk Hamilton, Steve Laing, Paul Roach, and Ralston all worked on the project and did a tremendous job! They all need to be recognized for the work they did. I greatly appreciate their hard efforts in getting this project completed! I will continue to use Gregs for all my landscaping needs and highly recommend them to everyone.

John runs the irrigation service and is super knowledgeable and professional. His team is responsive and willingly makes minor adjustments. Very hard workers. I recommend them highly and without reservation. I couldn t be more satisfied.

Last week when Josh K. and Jakob N. came to work on my landscape, they worked very hard all day and did a very good job. They were very polite and answered my questions when I asked. They even picked up all of the many flags that were in my lawn from the utility companies and even took care of the weeds under my deck. They left the yard clean and neat. It was a hard job and I was quite satisfied with the results.

I have been using Greg s Lawn Service for many years now. The staff is always helpful, courteous and knowledgeable.

My mom lives in a condo for which Gregs lawn and landscaping does the mowing / trimming as well as snow removal. They ran over her brand new gutter downspout and reinstalled it upside down and backwards so it is still crushed, and should have been replaced with a new section. Property management company has contacted them a second time and nothing has been fixed/replaced. Theyve also taken huge scoops out of the landscaping with their snow equipment on multiple occasions.

Jesse is the only one we will have maintain our yard. He is caring, professional, and honest. Always does a fantastic job.

Gregs Lawn did an awesome job of clearing the first snow fall of this season! Mike, with Gregs, has cleared our snow for quite a few years in Marion and always does a great job. Glad we have continued to trust Gregs Lawn for our needs and we plan to do so for many years to come!

On my way home from work I needed to stop for gas at Murphy USA, I was hesitant at first with all the snow we have had but I was very pleased with the care the driver took into his plowing so on my way in i told him he did a good job and he handed me his card! Thank you Mike K!

I was so impressed with the team from Gregs that cleared snow this last week. My condo complex has an intricate set of walks and pavement, and it takes a conscientious group to get the snow moved. Mike H, Ismail, and Levi labored for hours to clear and salt our area, and returned at least 2 times to keep the drive open. THANKS GUYS!

Ive worked in property management since 2010 and Ive always had a hard time finding a reliable lawncare company. Weve used Gregs for the last two years and I hope to continue to use them in the future. Weve had very minimal issues (stuff happens and theres always a bit of an adjustment period in the beginning of the season no matter who you use) but when we do, Zach is always just an email away. When I reach out to him I always get a very quick response and quick resolution. In the past Ive had to call back lawncare companies over and over for the same issue and thats not been the case with Gregs. Thanks for helping me to keep Granite Valley looking great, you guys! :)

Watch billing practices. They did good work on our retaining wall project. But they billed extra without getting our approval and then used a deposit we paid on another project we were going to have them do to pay for the unauthorized billing. Needless to say we cancelled the other project with them. I lost all trust in the owner/project manager.

Our HOA had the pleasure of working with Gregs Lawn & Landscaping for a major drainage project that we needed to keep moisture out of basements and away from the foundation. As part of that, Greg reached out to the company we hired for gutters to coordinate that effort. He kept up with our progress and followed up when we went with another contractor and continued communication with us. His company wanted to maintain the integrity of the project and did not go silent after completion and getting the invoice paid. That showed me that we were working with a different sort of company and I mean that in the best way possible. One that wanted to stand by its work and also preserve it and see that it fulfilled its role optimally.

This is a scam. Used this company for a couple years my lawn still looks horrible. Wouldn t recommend.

They mow the lawn next door . but everytime they do they run there equipment through mine and do damage

Nick and his team are top tier! I called in for some weed removal, mowing and general maintenance that I didn t have time to complete myself and they were out within a snap of a finger (not literally, but it felt like it). They made me feel like a valued, life long customer, even though this was my first time contacting them! His team took care of my needs, were professional and respectful of my property. They do our snow removal and lawncare and are NOT good! For example our walks are often not plowed until late in the day AND with their giant plow our garages are now snowed in! The plow they use is way too big for the job, it has destroyed our driveway and is ripping up our grass/rocks. n the summer theyve knocked over flower pots and just leave them, they blow leaves under our deck instead of out into lawn. I do not recommend them at all! My name is not on the account so I wont show up as a customer

This issue has been resolved they were very polite and the employee that removed the pile went above and beyond. Thanks guys!! I have contacted Gregs twice over the last 2 snowfalls. The first time (1/26/21) I asked them Politely not to do it again after they put a huge pile of snow in my front yard from the parking lot that they plow across the street. After the very next snow (1/31/21) The added to the pile doubling it in size and this is not just against my curb it is at least 20 into my yard. This time I ask them to go get the pile out of my yard and they said they would but as of the time of this post the pile is still sitting there. Please come get your pile of snow before it turns into saltwater and destroys my lawn.

Ive tried to contact an employee several times through phone and email-(I believe his name was Nick), terrible service and not responsive to my questions at all. Pretty rude to not reply and he could use a little bit of professional training. I wouldnt recommend.

This would not let me give negative stars. Read the reviews people because I failed to! The are completely rude. The guys that do the dirty work are good people but are with a bad company ran by bad morals. They do not care about you. Greg would never see me in person and did not care when I was not happy about the outcome. Did not follow the proposal. I asked several times for him to meet me at my house never would. I complained that there wasnt any scetch or measurements at all. The Wolf said this is not a high end job that I would bother with any kind of drawing, I only do that for $20,000 jobs. I would not sign off on the job. He still would not come to discuss what wasnt right and threatened me to pay. He hangs up on you, is rude, and shows 0 respects. If he thinks the job is good enough to him than he wants paid. Quite the false salesman.

Ricky and Steve represent Greg s Lawn and Landscaping very well at Timberlake Estates. Ricky and Steve consistently mow and trim the many acres in less than one day leaving the lawn manicured until their next visit. Thank you Ricky and Steve. Your efforts are appreciated.

I have been using Gregs Lawn and Landscaping Services for almost 20 years. Once again they went above and beyond our expectations from the recent snow fall. I highly recommend them for lawn and snow. When ever you need them they are there to help. Thank you for taking care of my property!

Witnessed them use a spreader right along a neighbors fence and spray yellow pellets through the fence and onto their dogs. They also have routinely mowed 10+ feet into my yard and have taken out hundreds of dollars worth of plants and broke my compost bin.

Ten-twelve years ago we hired Greg s Lawn Service to care for our yard. They did an excellent job. We had the best looking yard on the block(s). So recently we hired them again different house. Somewhere, sometime between then and now their services have declined. The star rating is for the beautiful retaining wall they built, ground leveling and the brick pathway they restored in our back yard. They work well with heavy equipment. It s the fine-tuning they apparently find unimportant to a home-owner/senior citizens. So for three weeks with a leg brace (waiting for surgery) and ignoring medical instructions while I wait, I ve hobbled around in pain cleaning up rock, raking up twigs and spraying weeds, etc. My husband completed the step construction, moved dirt, hauled debris away etc. We were told to call them if we needed further help. We tried three times. Calls have not been returned. Disappointed puts it mildly. We re looking for another lawn service to help with fertilizer, seeding and weed control.

Once again they also dont return calls

Would not even provide me with an estimate for yard overgrowth.

This is a service that Watts group uses. They are terrible. They put a rock through the back window of my handicapped van, looked that they broke it and then walked away, expecting us to pay for it. A lady walking her dog watched them and told us. Then they denied it. Snow removal. This morning it was 7:30 before they showed up. I tried to get to work this morning on time and was stuck in the driveway. They had someone who was here early and cleaned the inter sidewalks apparently since they are late we are to walk to work. Anyway, I am 73, same handicapped van, I had to shovel my way out as two men who finally showed up watched. Didnt offer to help, they watches as a elderly woman shoveled her vehicle out. This is who this company is, they discriminate against women, elderly and the disabled. Who would like to claim these men and have a company declare they are community minded.

Didn t need any work at this time I was told. Interesting for a company that provides snow plowing.

These guys dont shovel your sidewalks or plow your parking lot on any kind of timely manner. This winter, my apartments parking lot is a disaster. Gregs doesnt plow it in time, so the tenants cars get stuck all over the place. It looks like a demolition derby in the snow. Their staff told me that they dont care and wishes their owner would drop our apartments business. Stay Away from this horrible business.

Very good company. For anyone who complains about company doing work on their property and dont want to pay. I do believe there is a contract that is signed so any work there is subject to being paid. Greg is not hard to deal with. He is a businessman and any business man expects to be paid for work done especially if it was done under a contract. Absolutely would recommend to friends and family.

If you want top-quality lawn care services this is the place to go. I dont have the time in the day to take care of my lawn and was looking for someone to get the job done right at a reasonable rate and Gregs was able to provide both. 5/5 definitely recommend for maintenance work

They mow so fast on wet grass that it looks uneven and he drove on top of my newly grass. More than once they didnt blow the clippings from the sidewalk and steps. They do show up.

We are still waiting for snow removal for our driveway and sidewalks the next day after the snow and it is almost 4:00. We expect some delay after a big snow but after a long wait and two phone calls - nothing. We live in town in Coralville, do not understand why it would take so long to get to us. They clearly are not prepared to service all their customers in a reasonably timely way.

I could do a better job with a butter knife than these guys do with their mowers, they rush, leave lawns looking like trash, and damage structures. Dont even want to talk about what they consider snow removal. What a joke, dont hire them.

Id requested lawn mowing and fertilization/herbicide services from Gregs Lawn a couple of months ago. During the first mowing, they cut areas too short killing some of my lawn and they damaged my trees to boot. I informed them of the damage but gave them a pass, because my lawn is very uneven so I trusted theyd do better the next time. The next time, the lawn had barely grown and I had been told by the office that they wouldnt cut if the lawn was too short because it wasnt healthy. Needless to say, they mowed the lawn anyway. Far worse it had rained recently and when they drove around my lawn with their mowers, they made massive divots in my yard and tore up large sections. At this point I was done with them. That day I informed them that I would be cancelling all services and that I shouldnt have to pay for either of the mowings which had done more damage to my lawn than I owed them. I also asked if they wanted to do anything to make right the damage to my property. I never received a reply, but found out that someone from the service came over to my house without notifying me the next day and tried to clean up some of the areas and spread seed. They managed to get into my backyard which was locked which seems legally problematic. Almost a month later, I get home from a vacation to find an invoice in my mail box for a fertilization/herbicide treatment. So Gregs Lawn again came onto my property without notifying me and attempted to charge me for it. Since I had already cancelled all service there was no way I was paying for it. It speaks to the competency and organization of the company that after so many mistakes they manage to mess up again almost a month after Id finished with them. Consequently, if I could I would give negative stars to counteract the positive reviews and save other people some trouble.

Immensely subpar quality of work and incessant self victimization when criticized about said quality of work. Really had such high hopes but will gladly take my business elsewhere.

I hired Gregs for snow removal last year. Several times the plow driver dumped so much salt on my driveway that I felt as though my property was an extension of the Dead Sea. I called the office several times asking for that not to happen again, but it did. My driveway has little holes in it from all of the salt. When I adressed the issue with the owner, Greg Scharf, he told me he would file a lien on my house if I didnt pay him in full. Good friends of mine reported a similar encounter with the man. Scharf is not a reputable business man and not a good person to get involved with.

Great company to do business with

Gregs damaged my property while doing work and they would not take any responsibility. I had spent thousands of dollars with Gregs over the years, and had intentions on spending thousands more. Greg could care less. When I said that I would no longer be doing business with them if they didnt cover the damages (which wasnt that much $), the owner Greg, basically told me to take a hike. They will never get another dime from me. They do not care about their customers at all. Since this happened to me, Ive had several friends that tell me the same story about them.
