after speaking with a woman i. customer service last week. instructions were not given to the tech to speak with me before servicing the lawn. He was not aware of either problem i mentioned to the representative last friday. He suggested a supervisor come and see the lawn which is what should have happened today. Mentioned the weed issue and brown spots all in the yard front and back. It s like I never conversed with customer service. My lawn has more weeds than I would like regardless of the HOT weather and the BROWN spots thru out the entire lawn .I need an answer to these issues asap please! Had a lawn application done today and my lawn Specialist was very thorough and was helpful answering a question I had. People have commented on how good our lawn looks and I tell them that TruGreen has been taking care of it.

Have used them for years and they have always done an excellent job on the lawn. Great customer service and it is simple to make changes to account. I appreciate the no pressure sales and theyre flexibility to accommodate yard needs.

Sure hope TruGreen improves, especially since I have about 4 more visits left, all pre-paid unfortunately. My wife called me at work to tell me Zachery B. pretty much pulled up, never walked in our backyard, was in our front yard a few minutes, then left. My wife was sure he mustve forgot something, but he never returned. Theres not a single grain of fertilizer on our lawn. I called and a TruGreen rep said they would redo the lawn. Well see. The first two applications were done while no one was at my home, which now has me wondering if it was applied during those previous two visits. Hopefully you guys can turn it around and restore our confidence.

Just had a technician spray all my fruit trees with weed killer. He literally stopped at every tree and especially sprayed there base. The leaves have been curling up and I couldnt understand why. Never trusting true green again.

William is fantastic! Hes great at listening to you, hearing about any issues you may be seeing or are worried about, and then applying the right products to address the problem areas. He takes personal responsibility for your lawn and the overall results. Hes very detailed and conscientious about applying fertilizer and weed control. Have had TruGreen now for several years and wouldnt even consider another lawn service program. The TruGreen technicians like William and seeing the results (beautiful green lawn without ANY weeds) - says it all!

Very happy with our tech Nicholas. Very professional and neat. When finished he blew the excess fertilizer off our driveway and sidewalk. He left signs in the lawn and left the summary on our door. This is something that was not happening in the past.So far we are pleased with the service. Now we will see how our lawn progresses.

Where do I begin? Well let s start with me wanting to sign up again for my two homes. Kennedy (a sales rep) stated that there is a 5% increase this year from last year. Ok no problem. Except I paid about $426 last year for 7 treatments and aeration and over seeding. She tells me is $760 something or there abouts. I said that doesn t add up to 5% increase. She advised me that she will lock that in so when I call back to speak with someone else they can t change it. So I called my local manager back on his cell Pete (Carpentersville Illinois location) he said there s nothing I can do and to call back and speak to someone in billing. Pete stated that sounds like I spoke with someone in sales who is trying to get commission. Mind you I have been with Truegreen for 8-10 years now. I can t remember exactly. I also signed up my wife s house and have been with them for two seasons. During my time I have had to call back bc they leave my gate unlocked and I have a dog, I ve had to call back bc they don t go into my back yard in my wife s house (we have cameras) they always come back and do their warranty service. I even had to call back bc the tech only did half of my wife s lawn for aeration and overseeing this past season, again they came back for their warranty service and eventually it gets done correctly. Where my biggest problem is, I prepay every year for everything and I KEEP my receipts and conformation records showing that I paid. This past season Truegreen sent me to collections for an unpaid debt. I had to call my local manage Pete and explain to him that I did pay and here is my records. He stated you did and this is a mistake on our end and I ll get it taken care of. So what they did was cancel my service and when I called this year it shows me as a new customer and a RIP OFF of a rate. So long story is, this is a corporate company who does not care about customer service, they simply care about the amount $ they bring in. I guess I ll just be looking for a local small company to give my money to. Update 2-29-24. Nichole from corporate customer care contacted me and stated quickly that she can reinstate my time with Truegreen and I won t be charged as a new customer. It truly is sad it takes this much effort to have a company do what is right for the customer when I had no control over what happened on their end as far as payments. I also said I will change them from a 1 to a 3 star but will not take down the review as these are true constant issues I have had over my time with them.

The young man today ,Zachary?, was very nice. Very sociable. Poor guy had to make 2 trips. Came earlier neither myself or husband heard the doorbell.

Last year we had Trugreen come and service our lawn for both lawn care and mosquitos. We had to call repeatedly for them to complete the whole job- even with videao proof they were missing whole sections of the yard. We had to call for them to admit, apologize and fix HITTING OUR MAILBOX. Ive been told by 4 different people that our information has been placed on the do not call list. I have emails that our account has been closed. We continue to be solicited. If anything else, they are consistent.

Many years of excellent experience. Our lawn is usually visibly more attractive than our neighbors. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The salesmen for this company dont get the hint - we have very clear NO SOLICITING signs posted, our HOA does not allow door to door soliciting in our area - and yet, multiple DAYS IN A ROW - they send their salesmen to my door, even after being told we are not interested in their business or their service. The fact that their salesmen cant respect our signs or our answers and are this unprofessional tells me volumes about their business. Next time they come on my property I am calling the police. And, while I personally have not used their service - I have had family members end up with completely ruined lawns because of the chemicals they use. I am fairly confident they dont know what they are doing. If anyone actually reads this review this far - I hope this helps you avoid a bad experience.

Service personal acknowledged me when he saw me in the yard. Did not skimp on product. I do appreciate the email reminder before they come out. So I can set a reminder for me to keep the dog in the house. This is my second year and have renewed the service. One has to remember it takes multiple applications to get rid of weeds.

A year wasted. They are the number one Lawn company due to marketing only, if you want to waste your time and money on them, that is up to you. Very few customers service associates and manager who actually knew what they were talking about and even my free service I finally got after months of trying to get any help ..they completely destroyed. Steer clear if you can.

TruGreen came out to retreat for weeds which grew after first treatment. The visit was within the promised window and I was not charged since I reported the problem within the 30 days following the original treatment.

Just started using them. My service guy is Omar. He did an outstanding job. He listened to my concerns and even closed up my backyard for me, which he didnt have to do. So far, very happy. The weeds that were starting to come up are dying and my lawn looks very healthy.

My lawn technician Tony does a great job. He does my neighbors to the right and left of me, never does he complain (my ground is very bumpy) and our grass has never looked better.

I have an annual contract for weed control lawn care, our yard is on a heavy incline and the upper area not as easy to reach as the lower and was getting noticeably missed until we brought this up. They were receptive to our needs and are now taking care of it.

Both staff were very friendly and attentive to detail. They already knew not to spray my raised garden beds. TruGreen needs to provide safety protective gear (according to OSHA regulations) like eye shields, gloves and face masks because these chemicals are strong. If TruGreen cared about their staff s well-being they d create their brand logo gear free for all staff. Please take care of your staff because good customer s like myself notice this and will not continue supporting businesses who don t take care of their own.

I have never had any kind of lawn service in the past. This year has been very busy and I have not had time to care for my lawn like normal. I typically fertilize, seed, mow etc myself. I needed some assistance so I looked up TruGreen. It was quick and easy online for me to choose what I wanted done. I did not have to be home at the time. My lawn was treated, and I received a thorough summary of what was done and some tips on making my lawn even better. The convenience was very important to me. I did not have Dakota s phone number personally. I had a no trespassing sign on the property. So I reached her through my speaker on my security camera for I can let her know the no trespassing sign is not for Trugreen. Dakota humored me and talked with me over the camera and making sure all is good and if we needed anything else. I would like her to be our technician moving forward all the time.

Your 2 employees went straight to work. They listened carefully about where our electric fence is. Our electric fence still works perfectly after our aeration. Clear information watering was given. We are pleased.

They do not apply chemicals responsibly and ignore the laws for application. They have killed my garden multiple times from overspray on my neighbors yard.

Started off with a poor level of service and as of this week responded promptly and courteously to the problem.

They take the time to ensure they re using the proper nutrients depending on what s needed! They even did a special treatment to help with growth to an area we had sectioned off with new seedlings. Our lawn is already looking thicker and greener after a couple of treatments!

Believe the negative reviews. They can t follow simple instructions. Consistently asked for a receipt of what they found and what chemical was applied. After FOUR times of them not doing this I got rid of them. A bunch of clowns answer the phones for them also. This is one company where I don t mind hearing the robot speak compared to the people

I watched from my house as my Tru-Green Specialist, Miguel Zavalazamudio, treated my yard today. He was very thorough, spraying every part of my lawn methodically. While other Specialists usually pull their hoses around the corners of my house, hitting and bending my downspout extensions, not Miguel. I watched as he picked up his hose carefully when he needed to go to another part of my yard, leaving my gutter extensions untouched and unharmed. When Miguel was finished, I came out and thanked him for his outstanding and careful work and told him I hoped he would be returning consistently to service my yard. He was very friendly and personable. I really do hope Miguel will return to treat my yard or at least have him teach other Tru-Green Specialists the proper way to spray a yard. I will tell my family and friends about Miguel and his proper Tru-Green approach!

First of all they automatically renew their service every year . They don t ask customers you need it or not . By the time you realize that someone is coming for service , its too late because they don t give you an option to cancel the service after business hours . I called them and canceled the service last week but got a notification that someone is coming for service again . What a horrible customer service .

Horrible service and horrible weed treatment. They care less about your grass. All they care about is billing. See attached picture of what our lawn looks like after weed treatment. Weeds all over. I called for someone to come over and discuss how to rectify and ended up with bunch of people from various call centers across the country who wanted to get me off the phone. Their suggestion was: Wait for the next visit while the weeds are getting worse everyday and discuss the problem with the same guy who did not treat it right in the first place. They would not set-up a time. They suggested I should stay at home and wait all day for them to show up whenever was convenient for them. They are a greedy global behemoth who cares less about anyones lawn or customers. Only interested in billing you.

Well, i have been a long time customer of Trugreen, at two different resisdences. I quite using their service, due to some random not so good technicians. Decided to get the products from the big box stores, didnt quite cut the mustard. Now im at another residence and decided to give them a second chance. Well, I used them all of last summer and began first application and i have the tech on camera NOT hiting nearly 50% of weeds. So, the awsome part... the service tech (Cody S) answered all my questions and offered a plethora of knowedge about the lawn care. Even though the broadcast spreader was broken and could complete the service that day, as the equiptment was broken. However the time he took to breakdown the plans and what is the most effective one for my application. Thanks again Cody, wish i could request you all the time.

I dealt with TrueGreen for 2 years. First issue was when I had aeration done. Called and made sure the person doing the work didn t touch my freshly laid sod on one side of my house. He didn t pay attention to the notes and destroyed my yard. Manager came out and said they would fix it . Never did. Cancelled all other services except weed and lawn fertilizer. They couldn t even do that right. Lazy technician Antonio 2 months in a row, filled spreader to do one yard and skimped mine. Also never sprayed for weeds. Had to call and have re-service done both times, same guy same results. Just an awful company, bad management, and terrible service. I went with a local basis was, Weed Man and look forward to working with them.

TruGreen assured me I was only buying one year of service and then proceeded to show up the next year after I moved away from the house and do service and bill me for it. When I called they said they could cancel future service but not refund me for the service that was done at the home I do not live in. They said I signed a document that agreed to this, but could not provide me with the document. It was peak covid and I did not sign any documents agreeing to this. When they could not furnish the document, they said that they read me a script that I agreed to, but they certainly did not, in fact I recall very specifically asking that they do not do a subscription

Virtually no response dealing with a payment issue.

We ve been with this company over five years. We had an issue of taking off some of our property not having chemicals on it. They only adjusted my bill one dollar less! I called to chat about it I left a message no one called. I called customer service I was told someone would call me no one called me. We ve canceled our service with this company if they can t take care of their customers I do not wanna be with them.

My lawn, the TruGreen treated lawn, is on the right. My neighbor and I use the same landscaping service for mowing, mowed to the exact same height at the exact same times. Neither of us have a sprinkler system, so same amount of watering. Our only difference is who we use for weed treatment, there literally cannot be a more even comparison. My lawn looks burnt to hell and over treated. The back yard looks even worse. Gave them a full year then cancelled. Waste of money.

True Green will not ever keep there word about dates or about services they promise. Worse than that, they have a policy that customers are not allowed to talk to a manager or even anyone with any authority of any kind. You must talk to an operator and request for a manager to call you. They can take a week to call back. Please do not use this business.

Wow. Its true what many of these reviews are saying. I called and asked for a manager because of them missing a month of weed control and my lawn becoming overgrown with weeds. They actually told me that you cannot speak to a manager. A manager will contact me within 5 business days.

Been waiting for the manager bob to call back with an answer as to why we never followed through with his promise to take care of issues 4 weeks ago. They have missed appointments for 3 months in a row and I have still received no response from him, despite corporate assuring me that he would be getting back to me ASAP.

Overall I am satisfied. My grass is good but not great, especially in the back where there is a lot of shade. I think the techs should spend a little more time to ensure they thoroughly apply weed preventer. There are always weeds in the 8 of grass that are next to my sidewalk, driveway and near the mulch areas. Based on my cameras, each time a tech comes, the total time they are there from the moment the truck pulls up to the moment they leave is 4-5 minutes. Spend an extra 5 minutes and spray along all of the edges of the grass to ensure all the weeds receive the application.

Communication started off on a bad note. However, there was a super representative that made this experience go exactly the way I heard Tru Green Lawn care was supposed to work. They called after the treatment, left a voicemail, left a note on the front door and a sign in the yard letting me know they were there.

Service person is really good/great, he monitors/observes the lawn and takes care of it without our intervention, performs services 7 times a year.

My family has been a true green customer for years and I ve had many different lawn care specialist visit my and my families houses...Lawn care serviceman Brock is an AMAZING worker! He has great customer service skills and is way better then the last guy I had. One thing true green needs to work on is taking care of their employees. No employee should be out until dawn doing lawn work- and honestly I don t want anybody coming to do my yard after 5. It s weird and unprofessional, please fix this. Also- please fix your company vehicles, countless times I have these workers coming in really beat up trucks that always seem to be breaking down. Employees are great! Treatment is great! Customer service is great! MANAGEMENT- get it together!

Please stop having your lawn care techs show up past 5 PM that is just ridiculous, I do not want lawn care techs doing my lawn when the sun is going down. Absolutely unprofessional.

I called to have someone come to my house, look at my lawn, tell me if I have thatch or if its another problem and give services to fix the problem. The man whom I spoke to was incredibly rude. He insisted on selling me a package for over $400 before anyone even came to my house, looked at my lawn or answered any of my questions. And the man I spoke to completely ignored the fact that I may have thatch. So when I was able to get him away from trying to get my money and back on the topic of my lawn, I asked him what they would do for the thatch. He told me that the can aerate the lawn and that would take care of the thatch. When I said that aerating a lawn and dethatching a lawn are two different things, he said, If youre such an expert, why are you having trouble with your lawn? I was trying incredibly hard to remain calm despite the fact that the person I was speaking to clearly only cared about getting my money and was incredibly insulting. When I asked, If the problem isnt fixed, will I get my money back? He completely ignored me. He went on to say that nobody would come to my house unless I prepaid the amount which was over $400. He said that if I gave him that money over the phone, he would have someone at my house within 3 days to do an analysis of the lawn and start treating it. I asked if we could set up a date and time because I would like to speak with the person who comes out so I know whats happening with my lawn. And he flat out said that they do not do that. He said that I have to pay today and somebody will be out to treat my lawn through November. He went on to say that if I dont like the way they are doing business, I can go somewhere else. So I did.

This weekend I wanted to sign up to get my lawn fertilized and sprayed for weeds. I quickly hopped on the Trugreen website and signed up. Done. Moments later I received a call from a salesman telling me I could save $100 if I sign up today. I explained to him that I already did and asked if that $100 could be applied. Long story short, it could not. So I cancelled in hopes of signing back up and getting the $100 off. I ended up getting a quote from a competitor and went with them. Fast forward to today and I get a call from the Carpentersville location telling me about how they saw I cancelled and offered some discounts. I told him that I already signed up elsewhere and he immediately hung up before I could say anything else. Not the most rude thing that has ever happened to me, but what an awful experience Trugreen provided. Im glad they helped validate my decision to go elsewhere though. Thanks guys!

I am not a TruGreen customer, my neighbor is. TruGreen sprayed my lawn on accident. The worker never had to courtesy to knock on the door and let us know they did it. We have kids and a dog who luckily didn t get sick. We had just paid to have the entire 1.5 acres slit seeded this spring and whatever they sprayed killed all of it. I ve spent four days trying to get a call back, sat on hold numerous times for 45 min to 1 hour. Still have yet to hear from anybody how they are going to take responsibility for this issue and fix my yard. The first girl I talked to at customer service told me they sprayed nutrients that would help the grass, trees, bugs and plants. Nutrients? She was trained as well as the guy who couldn t read the address sign and sprayed the wrong lawn. To your reply: I m done contacting you. I have called six times. Maybe follow through with what you said you are going to do and return my call.

We were very clear that we had dogs in our yard and the gates needed to be locked after the treatment....well not once, but twice they left the gate open and one of the two times our dogs got out and it wasnt a good situation. We also had a weed issue in our yard, by the second treatment the weeds were still there and worse. We told them again about this and they treated not only the weeds but all of shrubs, flowers. etc. (It was like a you wanna complain about our service..here you go! ) So now we still have some weeds and dead shrubs and flower. Awful! This is your business, would never, ever recommend the franchise that works in the Fox River Grove, Il area ever!

Worst experience ever. DO NOT USE! FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! paid for the annual service and been charged multiple times within that period of time. Terrible service, WILL NOT use again!

I had aeration and overseeding service scheduled for 8/13. That is way too early for the season so I called on 8/11 at 3:20 to reschedule. I was told that the service for 8/13 would be moved to 9/29. Well, they showed up on 8/11 and started to service the lawn. My wife went outside and told them that the service had been rescheduled, so they left. I was charged $219 for some unknown reason so I called to resolve the matter on Saturday, 8/14. I was told that the charge would be reversed and it still has not been. I have had it with Trugreen and dont want your company stepping foot on my lawn ever again as your services are a complete scam. I also need someone to contact me in regards to this charge. I need my money back now!

I appreciate the alert messages before your tech shows up, arrives and departs. The techs are always friendly and open to discuss anything regarding the treatments. The services are good and I feel confident that the tech is knowledgeable on what he/she is doing, and if it doesnt seem to work in a certain area, you can request another treatment. Also if you need to call, the customer service representatives are friendly and always willing to work with you.

I hired TrueGreen for aeration and seeding and the couldn t have been more careless. They tore up chunks of my sod (not normal aeration cores but large chunks of my sod) and just left. Complete scam, I m done with this company, my lawn looks like garbage now thanks to your careless organization.

I like that my satisfaction is guaranteed. The two times in the past 3 years that I had a concern, Craig, a supervisor was sent out to address them and took the necessary steps to resolve the issue. Also great customer service from Nancy who followed up with me.

Yard looks worse than before service started. Emailed and called with complaints. No one returned calls or emailed back in a timely manner. They had a lead technician come out to look at lawn. He said it appeared to be over sprayed and was going to get with his boss about the situation. 2 weeks passed and still no response. In the meantime they core arriated and overseeded totally gouging and digging up various areas of my lawn. Terrible customer service!!! Bottom line is they nly care about collecting the money,not about customer satisfaction!

After dealing briefly with TruGreen Corporate Customer care, they have decided to refund me on all the charges back to my account. While I may not be using the service again, I have updated the rating based on my recent experience.

Worst customer service ever! I cancelled an aeration appt 1 week Im advance and they verbally confirmed it was cancelled. TruGreen showed up and performed the service and then proceeded to charge me $1,300. It took multiple calls for somebody to remove the charge from my account and they still have yet to call me back to resolve the issue. Their customer service agents over the phone are unprofessional, listen to music in the background, and have side conversations while theyre on the phone with a customer.
