I tried their Canby blend soil for our garden boxes this year (they recommend this for gardens) and it has been the worst production from my garden that I have ever had!! DO NOT GET THE CANBY BLEND FOR YOUR GARDEN!! After the fact we have had a few friends that have told us that they had tried it in the past as well-with same cruddy results as us. Wish we would have known!
Drove in to the entrance. Talked to the gal at the booth. She directed us to the area with barkdust. Never saw a single person after that to ask for assistance. Instead we were seemingly in the way of big trucks and commercial vehicles. (We were in our SUV). If there was an office of some sort like in the past to talk to someone it was nowhere in sight and no signs to help. This business used to be friendly for people like us that just wanted around 3 yards of barkdust in our trailer. We bailed out and decided this place has changed a lot and gotten too big for the average consumer. We later found out that they charge more than "All About Landscaping Supply" over on Hwy 213. What a pleasant place to do business! And much better prices. Should have checked prices first!
Excellent customer service. Prices are fair with lots of variety of rock and stone.
I just called to see if they have organic raised bed garden soil. The lady that answered the phone told me they have what she called Canby 3 way mix. I then asked her again if it was organic. She paused then rudely said, that is just a word people put on stuff and it does not mean anything. I just hung up and will not do business with this company.
This team is amazing. The folks that answer the phones knows there stuff and all of the staff including the delivery drivers are friendly, fast, and accommodating. I greatly appreciate companies like this.
The staff were polite and helpful. They are located right off the hyway 99. Good parking area. The prices were comparable to other local stone and gravel businesses. They have a large selection of products.
The gal at the sales trailer is great. Always has a snack for my co-pilot.
Lots of interesting varieties. I like that I don't have to have a truck and buy huge quantities. I've bought small amounts of rock and gravel (already bagged), and they load it into my smallish car. I love the look (and low maintenance) of rock in my landscape!

Ive gotten 3-way soil from here -- as part of my planting -- for years. In the past, Id just bring my own four 5-gallon buckets and fill, then be charged a half a square yard. This time I rolled up and could see that the layout had changed, with now a booth armed with a woman. She eluded that now we had to use bags (they supply) and could not use the buckets, where then we are charged a specific sum per bag of X and nothing else. I agreed, rolled over there, grabbed four bags and could not distinguish which pit was what until a helpful man came over and let me know, in addition to walking some ways away and finding a shovel for me - as I had not brought my own since they were typically there in the past. While struggling to fill up a loose bag with a shovel in one hand, while holding the bag in the other, I finally managed to fill all of them and then placed them inside the gallon buckets in order to secure them to the rear of the rig with bungee cords. After returning to the booth to pay, the combative woman told me that because (she thought) the bags could not be tied at the top, she was going to charge me 50% more for each one and that someone else should have bagged them for me. She never told me this initially, nor did the guy who retrieved and handed me the shovel. Why not just allow people to bring their own 5-gallon, both for convenience, along with less overhead for the company -- seeing that they are all essentially the same -- then have a going rate for various materials in them?
Ordered 3/4-0, but what I got had a lot of round river rock it in. This is going to cause me a lot of problems and it seems that there is nothing I can do about it, since its in a large pile in my driveway now. I wont be doing business here again.

Poor quality materials and extremely bad service have been the extent of my experiences at this place. They also like to close 20 to 30 minutes early. If your advertised hours are open until 5 PM then you should stay true to that.

Always have what I need and staff is helpful
I took the day off to have some gravel delivered. After waiting for the delivery time I called to see how much longer they would be and come to find out they messed up my order and put the wrong date. The lady was extremely rude. She never once apologized. I have always used them and spend thousands of dollars every year there. I wont be going back.

Very few gravel yards or supply stores in the Greater Portland Area hold to small town values or have an atmosphere conducive to homeowner approach. You are either a commercial operation, or you dont get your rock. Canby Landscape Supply makes small purchase orders a convenient, friendly, and enjoyable experience. Ive missed dealing with the businesses from when I lived out in the country, but this business is a little slice of good Ol Americana that hasnt been tainted by the Portland sprawl. I will return, and often.

This place is as easy as it gets. I walk in, ordered 3 yards of barks dust to be delivered. Next day, boom its exactly where I asked it to be dumped. I didnt ship around on pricing. I can tell you this.... CSG is painless and timely to deal with.
This place is YUGE! Theyve got what you need. And have the nicest wheel wash Ive seen.
My New Go-To! Prices are better then CLS, and their 3 Way Soil is darker/better. Plus, they allowed me to get Best Pricing, when I committed to 8 yards, or more!

Best compost price around. Best compost too. Likely they let their compost cure longer because woody content much finer than other places. When you bring your own truck or trailer their cubic yard is very generous.
The woman at the checkout wrote down wrong order, so I got wrong product delivered right before holidays, so I couldnt exchange it. I planned my project on the long holiday weekend. I ordered beach sand which is white/yellow and rainbow rocks that are very small in size. Instead they delivered construction sand, which is brown and huge Montana rocks. Because of the large size of the rock, it was not enough to spread it the area I planed. It is also uncomfortable to walk on them and the dirty looking construction sand picks through the gaps of big rocks. I am very unhappy with order. I only used it because I didnt have time to exchange the order. The receipt showed the product names I did not order. Its is not delivery guys fault. Check your receipt before leaving!

This companys customer service is awful. I placed an order and it never showed up. When I called to inquire as to why it never showed up, the front desk lady told me that they had tried to call my number and it was incorrect and that they had tried to look up my address and google couldnt locate it. I dont know how they could have gotten my address and phone number incorrect. (Our home is on a main road within the community.) When I asked for her to repeat back and number and address that she did have on file, so I could try to understand what went went wrong, she told me that they had thrown it away because it was incorrect. What kind of business throws away the information of a customer order?! And when attempting to make a new order with them, she hung up on me! I called back and she put me on hold. And when she answered back she asked, what did you want again? Ive never had so much trouble ordering anything in my life! Save your time and your nerves and go with another company. Update: we went with another local company, who delivered the next day with no hassle at all.

A bit of a drive however when dumping dirt or brick/concrete definitely worth it, they typically charge $10 for a full trailer load. Overall one of the best places for product and value.
