POOR communication and inconsistent service. 2 stars due to Nice service technicians... but 4 years in and paying annually in advance with mediocre service and results this will likely be my last. Showed up AGAIN with no advance notice today -in the rain- I have pets and was not aware so having to now clean them up from exposure to the treatment. Unacceptable and unprofessional.

As stated by others, they treat without permission (even though I have explicitly told them to mark my account for prior authorization to treat), poor follow up to phone messages, Office mgr (Trisha?) is snarky, yard has not improved after 3 years of treatment . Very disappointing,,,, looking for recommendations for new company.

Weve been using GrassMasters for a few years now with good results. Their pricing is competitive with other services, and they are reliable. Their customer service is 2nd to none, responding to questions or concerns immediately. As a result, I highly recommend GrassMasters.

Very courteous and on time

Been a customer of Grass Master for many years and always satisfied until last season .had a new tech and my yard was ruined by end of summer .if you like a good looking lawn I wouldn t waste your money on this operation .your yard could end up like the one pictured below also they do not check notes about your lawn and receptionist is very rude

My 80 year old grandparents have used this company for ten plus years and have always been satisfied until last year. They had dead spots all over the lawn and explained to the tech that when he came back. The tech said they had the wrong grass planted. Mind you they have lived here since 1967 and have never had these issues. The yard has always looked great! They weren t willing to come out and look when he called in. I am very upset that they ripped off the elderly. Do yourself a favor call someone else!

Grass master routinely only sprayed a portion of my lawn, I had spoken many times to the field tech about my weeds, bare spots, etc in my lawn and nothing improved after years of service. I eventually cancelled service for lack of quality and was reached out to by the sales manager, Steve. Who was incredibly unprofessional in his email responses to me, even though I was a multi year customer. I just want my lawn to look good, Im happy to pay for it. They place quantity over quality and do not care about your lawn individually, which is sad. Dont go with grass master, all of negative reviews you read about them are true.

Grass Master bought out my previous lawn care persons company when he retired. My lawn has slowly deteriorated since they began treatments. I called to ask for an explanation and was told someone would bet back to me which never happened. I reached out to a different company that has a 4.9 Google rating. They came out, gave me a plan and got my business. Sorry to have to change. I do not need my yard to look like Firestone CC but I certainly do not want to have the worst on the block.

Michael Clark applied the late spring application to our yard along with grub control. Michael was very polite and friendly. He took his time and did a great job treating the yard.

This company has a very unprofessional approach to doing sales. I wanted to make an appt to get my yard done. They just showed up and did the work without any notice or a scheduled time and day. When calling them to discuss the Sales Manager cut me off and would not let me speak. I will never do any work with them ever again.

Was scheduled to treat my yard twice each time they call to tell me the were coming and they never showed up to do the job .

After several years of using Grass Master, I still have violets in my yard. Two years ago, customer service said it takes a while, still have them. Otherwise, yard looks good.

We have been using this company for four years and have always been impressed with how quickly and effectively the treatments work and the well-kept schedule and timeliness of each visit. More importantly, we love the personalized service anytime we call, we talk to a person and the customer service is always impeccable. Even the gentlemen who come to spray the lawn are a pleasure to see, with personalized touches like noticing that my boys collect the flags after each spray, and leaving an extra one with the invoice for them you truly couldn t find a better company!

Always great service and, unlike others, they will ALWAYS call before they come out. Something very important to us as we have a dog and want her safe. Today, we forgot her ball in the yard, then my husband saw the man take his gloves off, pick it up and put it on the table so it didn t get spray on it. (Thank you! That was unexpected and most kind!). It s nice to deal with a company whose people actually do care.

Would NOT recommend this company to anyone! The office staff is beyond rude when I have called to discuss the issues on the lawn care hoping to get resolved. Tecnician has managed to kill off many decorative grasses in bedzones, multiple perinnials, tree lawn. We have had lawn care for years and never had issues like this, waste of money and time going with this unprofessional company.

This company is completely unprofessional and I would not recommend doing any business with them. They signed me up for services which I did not authorize and were completely rude when I contacted them requesting that they provide details. They said the previous homeowner had service with them and they were continuing the services they had without ever discussing it with me. The employee said it was not their responsibility to provide me prices even though I had never worked with them before. Beware of doing business with a company as shady as them.

Its a shame that this company was awarded a PPP loan of over $350k because they do not deserve to stay in business. Crystle in their business office could teach a MasterClass on how not to treat customers. These people are arrogant and classless for no reason. If you want to pay to have your yard look worse than it does now AND get the most pathetic customer service youve ever had then this is the lawn service for you.

Raised prices without notification. Treated lawn when they shouldnt have. Treaded lawn just prior to a massive rainstorm, phone service does not work properly at all. Fought with me on the phone 2 times and told me not to tell them how to run their business when I asked for a refund of the treatment. Stay away

Used this company last year and they did ok service. Pre-paid for this season in February and called in April as to when my service will begin. got the usual runaround from the office girl. Called 2 weeks later, same response! Finally, called in mid May and demanded a full refund! Would NOT recommend this company!!!

Grass Master has been handling my lawn maintenance (mowing, weed wacking, fertilization) for two years. They do a very good job. The company is always responsive to emails. Their charges are on par with the competition. I have no hesitation recommending Grass Master.

This is my 3rd year using Grass Master and to say Im impressed is an understatement. My grass used to be full of clover, crab grass and dandelions. Nows it just soft grass! It grows and its never been more green! No more dead spots, weeds or crab grass for us!

They did a good job spraying my driveway but the prices increased quite a bit with them. It was at least 15 dollars increase to spray my driveway. Wont get them next year. Too expensive. 2nd time they increased their prices.

Your technician took the time to explain what he was there for and answered all my questions. Very personable and helpful. Great job!!

Great service, friendly, always on time

Was really upset I wasn t notified about their arrival . I have an outside cat and was told in May (when I started the service) that I would be notified . We expressed we have an outside animal and have to be notified so we can get the cat inside. Luckily I was home today , typically we aren t home during the day , I saw the technician spraying my lawn and had to find my outside cat quickly to put him inside . Really not happy about not being notified . I did tell the technician he couldn t be here at this time since we weren t made aware of the day and time . We weren t prepared .

Waste a couple of weeks trying to work with this company. Numerous calls and emails. Never got a quote as promised and now they say they are not accepting new customers. So why are you wasting my time? It does appear they do most of the services listed on their website. I would not use them after this experience. Update: I read some of other reviews below. So glad I am not working with this company! I feel like I lucked out.

No wonder this company has a 1.0/5 rating on BBB. Crystal is a serious LIAR and God will judge liars. Shes unprofessional & argumentative, a gatekeeper that refuses to let you speak to other workers/staff or upper management about previous damage to the lawn and remedy. When my mother asked to come to their location to meet a manger with images and reports Crystal screamed NO and abruptly hung as we were trying to speak with her. Today, I called to report again fertilizer burn from a recent application they did a few days ago . Crystal, the liar, went as far as to say she closed my account because my mother and I threatened to harm people in her office which is a complete defamatory LIE, and then abruptly hung up the phone. She made this up to avoid accountability for the property damages this company has caused and has refused to let me speak with anyone else.

I asked for an estimate and havent received anything from them

Have them on camera not properly applying seasonal lawn treatments that I paid up front for. Sent an email outlining my concerns and received a phone call from the office saying that the reason the weeds were showing up in my lawn 4 months after starting service wasnt because they haven t properly serviced the yard, but because I was actually due for my next application! Don t sweat it, you re actually on the schedule for today believe it or not! Gave them a chance to make it right but nothing but excuses and do you think anyone bothered to show, either that day or on subsequent days? Not a chance. Nobody. Save your money and find a reputable lawn company to treat your lawn. These guys aren t it and I m clearly not the only one who s had this problem. Zero stars if I could. Horrible company that has essentially taken my money and offered barely a fraction of what they were supposed to in return.

The technician was polite and friendly. When asked about the condition of my lawn he explained what he was applying and its purpose. I stated that I was concerned about the brown spots all over my front lawn and he explained that it was a type of fungus that would resolve eventually. I also, stated that there was quite a lot of weeds on my backyard lawn and he stated he would treat it.

I have been a Grass Master customer for several years now, and this is my second review, over 3 years ago was the first review. I am still very pleased with their service, pricing and the people who work for them. A gentleman named Tony has serviced my lawn this past year and if there were any concerns, Id bring it up, and he would immediately address the issue with positive results, and a smile, as did the service tech before him! Tony is very courteous, considerate of my needs, concerns and does a great job, my lawn looks great! What more could a person ask for? I highly recommend this company. Yes, these days with less people in the job pool, it is good to know GrassMaster still cares for their customers from the courteous office staff to the grass care staff, now..if something could be done to shoo away all the squirrels digging holes in the mulch with their winters supply of nuts! They have a job to do too!

Hello everyone! Just trying them out. Gotta give them a fair shake. I have weeds of every kind, except for the ones you can smoke! So far, Im only sort of happy. Time will tell. $42 bucks an application. You can do it yourself for that much. It might save you the trouble.

Our lawn used to be beautiful. Then Dominion came through and ruined it. We used a different service for several years, and the lawn just wasnt great. Last year, we switched to Grass Master. The lawn looked better by fall, but, not where it used to be. After our first mow the other day, I am finally starting to feel like our yard is returning to its former glory. Some TLC by Grass Master has turned our grass green and lush. Thank you, Grass Master!

Should be ZERO stars. I usually dont but reviews on line put it is needed with this one. I waited for over a month after starting this service. no one came. During that time I would check it on the status and would be told (Im next week). It has been another 2 weeks after being told (no later than next week). Told again a month later, (I will make sure youre first in line.) waited for another week before calling. I called to cancel and was told (theyre coming today). All done being stringed along for over a month. CANCELED. Now Ive a month behind. Would have loved to support local businesses. Its a shame.

This Company came to my home and placed a flag in my yard without providing any services while I was home. I called to notify them and cancelled my service. GrassMaster continued to come and bill me for Services. I cancelled services again. They assured me my service was cancelled. A month later in November it was snowIng and my grass was covered in snow but GrassMaster came yet again and placed a flag in my yard without providing any treatment. I called again and spoke with receptionist to explain that I had cancelled my service but they claim they again have no record. I also explained the services were not applied to the grass as the yard was covered with snow and she stated they have a video of services.I asked to see video and the story was then changed to claiming they have no video however have a gps record.of the truck. I was home and witnessed the truck arrive, a man step out of the truck and place a flag in my yard and leave. I would not use this company as they will not always be applying the treatments you are billed for Unless you are home supervising them and they will not schedule visits only do surprise visits also they will give you a Very difficult time cancelling your services. I would stay away from them and use a different honest company. Once a treatment was applied By them and it killed my lawn and all of the grass turned brown for one month. Better off to do your own lawn treatments or hire an honest company who does not take advantage of people. If you call to try to talk to their office they will not listen or help you in any way.

Well, grass masters has been great taking care of my lawn for the last 3 years , I just called them and told them my lawn has alot of crabgrass this year, and ask them why, they said it was from all the rain this season and said they will specifically treat it with no extra charge to me , we will see if we can tell a difference, keep in touch

I was a loyal Grass Master customer since 2009 and had one of the best looking lawns in my neighborhood. In March of 2021 I sold my home and passed the information on to the new owners. When spring rolled around, Grass Master applied the first application and billed me. I said I thought it was a mistake and to bill to the new owners. They refused and since have been harassing me for payment. I refuse to pay and have disputed the bill multiple times. Now they claim they are in the same category as utilities and can damage my credit report if I don t pay. I reported them to the PUCO and the Ohio Attorney General. I went from a happy customer who referred them to neighbors to a disgruntled former customer due to how they have treated me. I cannot and will not recommend them due to their bad business practices. Do not use them!

Dont know how the company stays in business. Poor customer service and performance. Repeatedly called about weeds in my lawn and this is after five applications. When the lawn tech guy finally does come, he doesnt spray the weeds. I guess he just didnt care. It was only after I told them I was calling the owner, they sent a different guy out. He sprayed but we still have weeds. Needless to say, I discontinued doing business with them. Their company should be called GrassAssholes.

Mark S. cared for our lawn this year and last year. If we saw him, he would always speak to us in a friendly manner. If asked, he was always willing to share helpful advice and took great care of our property. Grass master would contact my husband in advance so we knew what day to expect them. We re pleased!

In general I feel GrassMaster has done a pretty good job and definitely better than the prior service I used. I really have only 1 complaint- I wish they could give me more than 2 days notice as to when they will be out. I have had ongoing issues with nutsedge in july/ august and would prefer the weed be easily visible when the technician comes out to spray. In order to do this I need to coordinate with my mowing service.

Fell off a little this year. Skipped one of my applications only to find out because the application before was still open on the account. Never received a phone call and unfortunately I never saw an email with all the junk email received I barely have time. A simple phone call would have sufficed. They use to call and let you know when they are scheduled to put your next application but I end up calling because it had been some time since they last one was applied...only to find out they had not come out because I had an open balance of...wait for it... $29 and some change. Overall I like the service but the customer service again fell off slightly for the first time since I have been doing business with this company.

I have had Grass Master for a number of years and they have always been professional on time and responsive to any request and a terrific value!

First of all they were to do the front and back yard. They only ever did the front. When I called and complained they always said the technician did do the back. Well I disagree. We were home and saw what he did. It also appears that they only spread water as the yard didnt show any improvement at all, plus there is a serious mole problem and they were supposed to do grub control. I would not recommend them!

They lie. But this time I caught them on our RING camera and as I suspected all along they were not really applying our applications correctly. I had called in the past and questioned how it could only take them like 10 minutes or less to do our lawn. I saw why this morning! Not to mention that I had called also over the summer to complain about how terrible our grass looked after them treating our yard for 2 years. If they pride themselves in their applications and yard care, perhaps they should leave a sign in the yards they treat as a form of advertising! This is how they handle pay in advance customers. Hope this helps someone else not have the same headaches.

Prepaid for 6 services for the season and they showed up April 1st and I called to inquire on June 9th about my second treatment that was past due and was told due to weather its been delayed. I commented that my neighbors all have had their lawns done by Grass Master for the 2nd treatment or other companies and was told I would be scheduled for this week. Not what was promised and not what I prepaid for.

I am a new costumer to Grass Master and so far am very satisfied. My technician, Michael, is very nice and helpful with information. When I first contacted the company to discuss my lawn issues I was extremely pleased with the information they gave and the plan they suggested. So far, so good!!!!

Our lawn was green except for a few spots. We called them out to fertilize it instead of doing it ourselves like we have in the past. Big mistake! Not long after the first treatment we noticed that the tips of all the grass blades were brown. Called the company and was told it sounded like they used too much fertilizer on it and theyd send a supervisor out to look at it. Dont know if he/she ever came, but the same guy that treated it the first time was sent back out to put lime on the entire yard. This did nothing except get all over out patio and cause us more work. Never again.

I recently came aboard with Grass Master after an absolutely horrible experience with Trugreen. There is comfort in knowing that this is a local, honest, reliable company whom actually does a great job (instead of a company that plants a flag on your lawn as they drive by). The staff and techs are first class and are happy to answer any questions or assist with any concerns. Another plus is if/when I call, a team member from Grass Master answers the phone in person. Their application reports are very thorough and informative. Other companies (Trugreen) force you to call their 800 number for anything and they will never allow you to speak directly to the local branch servicing your lawn. Give these guys a try, they are fantastic!

Very friendly very professional and do what they say that theyre going to do and you get what you pay for .Now that ive been A customer for almost a year now the service went down hill Quickly .i got a total of three treatments the first they did to start the season off was in the snow then two after that.called to ask questions why i only got three treatments and why my yard looks dead.My husband was told By a rather rude lady that my yard had fungus, My husband ask what isnt that your job to inform me of that in her reply was i will go ahead and cancel your service.if you want a dead lawn i Highly recommend GRASS MASTER.

In the standardized review the highest remarks were good service and good value. I have to say that we have received outstanding service at an unbelievable value. Another one of the questions asked about the professionalism of the employees of GrassMaster. The office people are excellent, they re knowledgeable and friendly. Today our technician Mike Page walked my lawn with me before he applied the fertilizer. He took the time to answer all my questions and explained to me what I could do to enhance my lawn. I give this company 5+ stars, they re that good in both product and service!

Grass Master has been our lawn service since 2009. Michael N. is our technician and he does an amazing job. If for some reason, I need to make some minor changes from the stand point of do not treat this part of the lawn this time, he listens and continues working!! The first two years saw the grass strengthening and the weeds decreasing leaving bare spots. However, now several years later, the grass is vividly greener and more lush than I would have anticipated. Originally, I had gotten the service to help with the ground ivy, clover and dandelions (my wife is allergic to bees) since I was not successful myself in controlling them. Now, I have the peace of mind knowing that my wife and I can enjoy being outside playing on the grass with our grandchildren without having to worry.

I was a longtime customer of the OTHER large lawn service but was incredibly disappointed with them last year. I had tried Grass Master in the past and decided to go back to a locally owned business. GREAT SERVICE AND PRICES WERE HALF of an other national company! Very pleased!!!!

I cant say enough great things. I learned from my neighbors who used them. We give them a try. My wife loved the outcome that was 3 years now. I cant remember all they do. However, whatever it is and as long as they are around. They will be doing our lawn.

I used Grass Master Inc for a few years up until 2013 when I started to get weeds in my lawn. So I cancelled my service, and today 03-01-2019 I get a letter from a collection company. WTH? They had been Paid in full.

Prices are way more than I think should be. Told them what I paid thru another company (half of what GM quoted me) and seemed like they didnt care and did not offer a lower price to get my business. The company I had before did not do one important thing that I asked which is why Im looking.

Best lawn care around. You actually get to talk to a real person when you call them, they dont bug you all the time for additional treatments, and any requests you have they fulfill the first time. Wouldnt have anyone else.

Grass masters has been providing us lawn service for years! It has been an absolutely amazing transformation in our yard. We have never had 1 complaint or concern in all the years we have been going through them. Our family members have been going through them as well with nothing but satisfaction in their services. This company is terrible!!!! I have been paying for services from grassmasters for 2 years now and my yard looks absolutely terrible, my lawn is more brown than green and is completely filled with weeds!!!!!! They are very overpriced as well!

I would never refer this company to anyone, their office is very dysfunctional they dont know if they are coming or going. There were to many promises made and broken by this company.

Poor customer service. My lawn was not in good shape before starting service but looked even worse after. Asked for a technician to assess- they did come out but were supposed to call before and all of my concerns were not met and no one attempted to discuss them.

Not happy with this company! I used them for 2 years and they raised their prices significantly so we went with another company. A year passed by and out of nowhere, they decided to come fertilize my lawn without notice nor permission and hit me with their invoice in the door. Called them and was not happy. They were very rude and hung up on me twice. Be careful when dealing with this company.

My lawn is terrible after 6 applications ,brown spots and weeds and now its full of mushrooms. Its safe to say I wont be back!!

Great company, my yard was full of clover, dandelions, and creeping charlie, after 2 seasons on the deluxe package not one weed. My neighbors lawn is full of dandelions in the spring and not one grows in my grass.

Management was NOT helpful on an issue we were having, and was actually down right rude. We have used grass masters for many years and unfortunately will no longer. She could have used a little more professionalism when dealing with me and at least tried to save us as a customer. What an unfortunate situation and we will be letting our friends and family know of the unhappy service.

Ive been dealing with Grass Masters for about three years. I was very pleased with the service and our lawn. Neighbors would comment on how beautiful our lawn was. Well my last treatment 7/26/17 I was told by a supervisor that they used the wrong kind of weed killer. For one thing we had very little weeds. So now our yard is mostly straw. It has many dead places in it, front and back. So now neighbors are shocked and wants to know what happened. Im terribly frustrated about the yard. A manager came by and put lime on it , and said for us to water it heavily. That of cause is water were having to pay for . I feel were not getting compensation for the damage thats been done to our yard. What can we do ????

We used a different company for several years and they could never get rid of the weeds in our yard. This is our first year with Grassmasters and our yard has never looked better! They have done an excellent job, not just with the weeds, but with getting our grass looking great. We would recommend them to anyone.

Last spring we hired GrassMaster to start treating our lawn. They came out and did a thorough inspection of my lawn and provided recommendations on how to get rid of our weeds and help improve the health of our lawn. We opted to go for the 6 treatment package of fertilizer and weed killer. To be honest I was skeptical. I had tried Weed and Feed applications my self and nothing seemed to work effectively. A few days after the first treatment I became a believer. My grass grew greener and after a few weeks the weeds started to die off. After getting our house re-roofed and re-sided there were a ton of dead spots in the lawn from the tarps and I was wondering if I would have to re-seed. Fast forward to this spring. My lawn has almost fully recovered. It is lush and green with absolutely no weeds and crab grass. I cannot say enough about GrassMaster and the services they provide. The prices are incredible as well. When I was doing it myself I was actually spending more on fertilizer and weed killer that was less effective. Plus now I dont have to lift a thumb.

I have been a 13 year customer!!! They overseeded my lawn last fall and it hasnt looked this good in the 30 years we have lived in North Ridgeville. I recommend them to everyone that stops and asks me who do you use for a grass service?

After using a national company who trashed my yard and or never showed up i switched to grass master and I love them. Weeds are gone and my yard is restored.
