These guys drive like jerks. One of them pulled out with a trailer right in front of me on 68th street on 5/10 after they pulled out of the marathon gas station at 68th and 131. When I had to switch lanes and avoid the rear end of his trailer the driver proceeded to scream at me telling me to slow down when I had th right of way and going 5 miles under the posted speed limit. Not a good represention of the company not was the driving of the driver safe.

Used them for one year of lawn mowing. They did a good job. Next year they sent me an estimate that I didn t want to pay that much this time. They have now harassed me saying that I owe them all this money even though I was mowing my own lawn. I ll never use them again.

Pay for snow plowing services - every time it snows, I have to call and email Jacks Lawn service to remind them that I am a paying customer and that my driveway needs plowing. Please plow my driveway per our contract.

Has some really unprofessional young guys working here. Parked behind my car at cross ceeek which is in same parking lot while smoking and cursing. I asked them to not do this in front of my kids while waiting for my son to get out of basketball and the guy cussed and flipped me off. Wouldn t recommend just by the rude employees in the parking lot.

We have invested in our lawn including posts with reflective tape on them to warn snow plowers that is where our lawn starts. Jacks Lawn Service & Snow Removal disregarded them, pushing them over and buried them multiple times. They continue to pile up snow on our lawn when it was the neighbors driveway they were plowing, leaving there yard totally unmarked. What respect do they have for anything but their profit.

If you are thinking of hiring a lawn service, do not hire Jacks. I have been trying for two years now to get them to adequately perform the services they have agreed by contract to perform. I have communicated with the company directly and through my condominium association. If I had any say, I would have discontinued their service last year. My most recent complaint is they have never cleaned the leaves from last fall, although several other companies who do yard work in our area had no trouble at all. The contract says they will clean all the leaves from the yards, but there is always an excuse with them. Last fall, the excuse was that they were waiting for ALL the leaves to fall from ALL the trees before they came out to clean up any of the leaves. Even after all the leaves fell, they did not come, despite several fair weather days during which the other yard companies came out to work. The weather forecast was for snow at the end of the week, so they waited until Friday, and got as much as they could. Now all the leaves are packed into the spring mud in our yards, and it is too wet to removed them. The grass is packed under the leaves and is dying in patches all over the neighborhood. I am embarrassed to have friends over from other areas, because no self respecting homeowner would allow their yard to look this way if they were doing their own work.

We were very pleased with their snow plow services. We appreciated the emails updating us about when they would come to remove snow!

This is now my 3rd winter season using Jacks for snow removal in my driveway. I really like that they use a tractor to plow instead of a pickup truck with a plow attached. I like the emails I receive from them, each time it snows, just giving an update and the times they plan to be out to clear the driveway. I work from home so Im fortunate to not have to leave my home early in the morning before they may have got a chance to clear my driveway. The only time I realize sod may have been dug up is the end of my driveway and it doesnt bother me. I think they do a great job. They mostly clear my driveway during the night.

They plowed my driveway this winter. They did a great job. Last year the previous company dumped a huge pile of snow over my mothers rose bush. Jacks heard my concern and kept it safe!

We have been customers of Jacks Lawn and Snowplowing Service for several years. We have been more than pleased with their attention to detail in keeping us informed during snow events. They email us with updates whenever it is snowing and it starts to accumulate. They plow after 2 inches have fallen, and they let us know when their trucks will be on the road. Often when there are larger accumulations they use a large snow blower to clear the snow, which keeps big snowbanks from being at the end of the driveway and we have better vision backing on to the road. They were so nice to work with they now do our lawn service!!!

We have used Jack s snowplowing service since we moved to Grand Rapids in 2013. The service has been great and I really appreciate that they send out email updates about when the snowfall reaches the 2 trigger and when they are sending out the plows.

After trying a number of snow removal services that didnt Iiv up to the terms of their contracts, I gave Jacks a try. I have been a loyal customer for 7 years now, and can say they show up when they are supposed to, do a great job of keeping my driveway and entry clear, and communicate often. We used Jacks Lawn Service and Snowplowing Inc. for plowing our relatively short driveway in the winter of 2022. For those with an obscured memory of the winter, we had precipitation in February on 27 days, two of which were a light rain. While most days the snow was light, we had some heavier snowfalls. Jacks did a fine job of plowing the driveway during most events. They put a sign in our yard identifying us as a customer and also put stakes at the corners of the driveway to guide the plows. We only had a small issue with the dirt being plowed alongside the driveway and Jacks planted grass seed in that area in the spring. Toward the end of the season, communication about plowing or potential plowing was less than the copious and clear communication at the start of the season.

We can count on Jack s for lawn and snow services to be done well and listen to our needs. Thanks!

Jack s has done a tremendous job for my elderly parents who are home bound. Their yard work crew has been responsive and professional, and they really did a fantastic job this summer with the clean up! They also do the snow plowing and we ve been very happy with that service as well!

Ive hired Jacks to mow our lawn for a number of years. Im on a tight budget, so I contract for the basic mowing service, and they do nice work. Being disabled, I dont have to worry about the appearance of my yard. I have also contracted snow removal service from them, at which they are equally dependable.

The driveway is always clear by the time I need to leave in the morning. I appreciate that they clear the approach to the mailbox and that they come back to clear what the city leaves - even when the city takes forever to clear the street. My only complaint is that their new equipment leaves a thicker layer of snow than before.

Jacks provided excellent service for lawn mowing and snow removal. We especially appreciated the edging of the driveway and sidewalk, which improved the appearance of our lawn. The service was consistent on the same day of the week. Jacks also plowed the snow from our driveway during the winter when the snow was 2 deep, but was unable to clear snow from our sidewalk, which I did myself.

They are absolutely wonderful for snow plowing. We have used them for the last 2 years and will be using them this winter.

Jacks snow removal plowed my elderly neighbors driveway today. The driver backed in, lowered the back plow and dragged the snow out into the cul-de-sac right at the bottom of their driveway. I called the company and they said they would call the driver to come back. He did come back! He ran over the pile of snow when he entered the cul-de-sac, pull all the way to the end and backed over it again. Then he left.

Very disappointed with their service and customer service.wont renew next year!

I wanted to share a good review. It s so easy to write in anger when a business messes up. But when a company does the right thing like providing great customer service and being decent, it needs to be shared. I have my mowing with them and anytime I have asked for a quote for additional services, instead of quoting the most expensive service, I get a real consultation that first suggest the most cost effective way to get what I am asking for. Not only have they done my lawn, I also had them enlarge my concrete patio with pavers that is pretty and I have gotten compliments. I work in a position where customer service is key to retaining clients so my expectations are pretty high and they have been exceeding those expectations. Decency, kindness and good service go a long way.

My home is in a development (Avalon Pointe) that uses Jack s to plow the sidewalks. My husband has always maintained our own sidewalks, and cleans them and then brooms them. Jack s every year goes down our sidewalk and tears up our sod. Every year before it snows I phone in and tell them to not take their machine on our sidewalks. Apparently whom ever is working in the office fails to tell the person doing the plowing. Please stop plowing our sidewalks. I m sure some people really appreciate you tearing up their sod, However I am not one of those people.

I signed up for snow removal services. So far in the 3 snow events we have had this year 2022 they have missed me all 3 times. I paid them almost 400 for the service. I couldnt get out of my driveway today due to snow. I also have a child in a wheelchair who rides the bus. If there was school on any of these days there is no way we would be able to get her to the end of the driveway. When they send the guy back out to get my driveway they dont even plow infront of the 2nd stall of my garage. I have asked for a call back from management and have not heard back. This is my 1st year with them and will be my last.

We paid for plow service this winter only to be skipped every single snow fall. Literally just watched the plow driver plow my neighbor and drive right passed my drive way. Excellent value if you want to pay for nothing. Our account was never set up to begin with even though we are a paying customer. I had to call back and ask for snow removal at the address that we signed up for snow removal service. I dont understand how that happened. Also even after making sure our service was straightened out we still have yet to be serviced from this weekends 2 snow falls. Ill be finding a new service for next season.

Plow snow from customers driveway onto/ across street pushing into other peoples property. Actually blocked a good portion of their driveway as they miss judged yard.

I have had Jacks for my lawn service, Snowplowing, and fall cleanup for several years. I have been happy with the jobs they have done, especially the fall cleanup. They even came back a third time to pick up the extra leaves when I asked. Snowplowing is done early enough so the busses can always get in and out of my driveway by 8:00 AM. I ve been very pleased with the service they provide.

I hired them to do a fall clean up on my lawn. They came twice and it was thorough, but the sidewalks and my neighbors yard were scattered with mulch from my yard afterwards. Also, I wish they would have reminded me with an email that they were coming on the days they did. They are usually good about communication however, most of the time.

The guys were quick and thorough at Fall Cleanup. We hadnt touched a single leaf before they came and had a spotless yard afterward. Every year we look forward to having one of the most leaf-free yards on the block because Jacks does the work for us.

First, used the Fall Cleanup service for the first time this year and they were awesome! Came home to a perfectly vacuumed yard. Not a leaf in sight in the yard, flowerbeds or around the garage. Worth every penny and will use them again next year! Second, have used the snow plowing service for a few years now and have always been pleased. In response to some of the other more negative review issues; yes, I too would love to have them take a double swipe at my drive for a cleaner drive but, with my single lane driveway, the service is just for one drop and drag and that s it. Also sometimes the snow is deeper than 2 at MY house (lot of drifting down my drive) and sometimes, in heavy snowfall conditions, I have had to leave for work before the drive was plowed but I understand that unfortunately it is not my personal plowing service and there are other factors that are considered. I have tried other companies in the past and their service was no different. So ideally I agree with you, I wish it could be more but I feel that Jack s tries to provide the best service they can, for all customers, and I believe the price is very reasonable. I have recommended them to numerous friends and they too have been happy with their services. Fall cleanup and shoveling are at the bottom of my want-to-do list so I m sticking with Jack s to handle those items so I can have more time to do better things.

Have used Jacks for snow and leaf removal for several years, and theyve done a thorough job, especially getting out to plow and staying on top of communication about it. The Bankruptcy Group that I work for uses Jacks for their snowplowing service and we couldnt be happier. We have been with them for about 5 years now. We have a four car parking lot with only an alley for them to push the snow into, which is not easy for a truck with a plow to get into. This is my 2nd year with Jacks. Im completely satisfied with my choice to use them for my plowing needs. Theyve been timely and efficient. I especially love the Snow Scoop emails that keep me informed of the snow weve gotten and their schedule for plowing. I wish I could comment on their customer service outside of plowing but theyve done so well that Ive never had a need to call.

They get closer to my garage and do a much better job cleaning out the snow boulders at the end of my driveway than my former plow service. The plow blades seem quieter, too, which my neighbors probably appreciate. The emails were a nice surprise. After every snow event they email you to let you know what they have done and what they are planning to do. That way you are not left wondering what to expect.

I have never had to call for service. I like the huge snow blower because it doesnt leave large drifts. Sometimes you could do a little better on the flare of the driveway apron. Overall, very good.

We have used Jacks for snowplow service the past couple years. Good communication via e-mail after snowfall to advise when the plowing will begin. Plowing is done well and timely. We opt for the plowing in front of the mailbox and had that part missed once the first year, but hasnt been missed since. They did come out and repair one area of lawn/sprinkler head that was damaged in the Spring. But these are things that are bound to happen at some point regardless who does the plowing. Very happy with the service provided.

With all the snow weve had this year my only complaint came on one of the days when I got plowed later in day and then city plow came and filled up end and I needed to get out and had to hand shovel. It takes a lot out of this old woman! But we still have more to get through so good job considering circumstances.

VERY unprofessional. They do lawn care for my apartment complex (which I am a resident in), and sent me a letter regarding old mail I threw away that had a old address of mine on the letter. Turns out these people go though the trash and if they find addresses that dont match the apartment complexes they send out letters threating to call the cops and press charges. They did not once check with my apartment complexes managment team to see if I was a resident there they just assumed I wasnt. I had called, and a woman there was not able to guarantee I wouldnt get a threatening letter like that, and wasnt able to explain why they go through residents trash.

Very timely and friendly service. Have used them for both snow plowing and lawn mowing (spraying for weeds and fertilizer for grass).

They damaged the concrete in my driveway during snowplowing and will not take responsibility for that. Said that my driveway was not installed properly and thts why the damage occurred during the snowplowing process. Also, I paid extra for 3rd car garage space but they pushed the snow into 3rd car garage than removing the snow. I will not use them again and will not recommend to anyone.

First year we have used them for our snow removal and so far we are very disappointed. We have shoveled 3x more than they have plowed because they either never did it, or came too late. When I call, theres always some excuse for why it wasnt done. I saw everybody elses company plowed today, but not Jacks! Why did we pay for a snow removal service if we are having to shovel ourselves? Im very unhappy so far. Hopefully the rest of the season gets better. In reference to Jacks response: I wouldnt have expected you to plow 1 inch of snow. There was 2 when I woke up and at the end of the day there was 3 inches. The company that plows the lots for my work plowed and I work very closely to home. I also noticed that other driveways of neighbors had been plowed; ones who dont use Jacks. Again, theres always an excuse why plowing isnt done either on time or at all. Im just frustrated that I wasted money on a snow removal service if we have to shovel anyway. If it gets better, I will be more than happy to edit my review and give a better rating. But at this point, Im very disappointed so far.

Ive had them for a couple of years now but will find a new company next year. I would give them a better rating if they actually came and plowed when the contract says. They say they will come when 2 falls but then they send an email (at least twice a year if not more) saying things like, only houses North of this street or the following Zip code South of this street. If it snows 2, then service your customers! Ill be going elsewhere next year.

Can I give no stars? I met with the driver before the season started to show him where to plow and put snow. Its a really easy drive to do. He has never done the job right. Its a double driveway and he doesnt drop the plow in the same place for both sides, which leaves snow I have to shovel to get into my car. If he would just drop the plow in the same place each time. Its almost like he does it on purpose. Too bad the guy doesnt take pride in his work.

Worst service ever! I used them for 1 season- they didn t come out to plow according to the contract and they damaged my fence and sprinkler heads with no repair. After calling them multiple times with no resolution, I gave up and hired a new service that I ve had for the last 3 years and never have had a problem with.

This is the worst company I have seen. Will definitely be finding someone else next year. They show up at least a day after snowfall then they use some inane huge tractor to do driveway which doesnt pull snow from garage line and doesnt plow the snow just drags it off. Then pulls it straight off and doesnt do the end of drive to mailbox, I have to shovel. I pay someone so I dont have to shovel!!!

Jacks has been consistent and thorough in their plowing for us the last 4 years. Thank you for the great support during the snow seasons!

We have used Jacks for multiple properties and multiple services. They have always been prompt and they do a great job communicating. During the snow season they send out Snow Scoop email updates to let you know when you can expect your driveway/lot to be plowed. This is super helpful especially during long snow falls. Id highly recommend Jacks service to anyone!

If you receive a card / coupon that says it is good for one FREE lawn mowing......they wont honor it. If they are printing these cards and giving them to companies to give out, then they need to honor them. NOT good customer service. Wouldnt have given 1 star if google didnt require me to.

Awful! We have used them for years (just a pain to look for a new company) for spring, fall cleanup and wood chips. First, overpriced! I received a bill for almost $300 because they had come and done some pruning and clean up, for that amount of money I should be able to tell that they came out, I couldn t. I called about the bill but they just said yes they had been there! Anytime I would call the office I was made to feel as though I was inconveniencing them by calling. This year when I asked specifically to have the leaves picked up before Thanksgiving (I was hosting) they said they couldn t promise but they would put me at the priority list. Weather was bad they never got out. The day after Thanksgiving they came and did my next-door neighbors yard and not mine. I called and asked them to call me for an explanation Still waiting!

Service was good, they did miss my driveway 1 time but quickly came and cleared it.

Have used Jacks for two years now winter and summer and they do a great job. Always in contact in case you have a problem or question and they respond to emails immediately.

Worst plow service and also the worst customer service I have ever experienced. If you are considering using Jacks service to maybe save a couple of dollars please re-consider. Our driveway was never properly plowed even after meeting with the driver. The back blade hit the edge of our garage door and was never fixed after I made several attempts to contact Jacks. I dont typically post reviews, in this case I felt compelled to share my awful experience with this company.

Customer service is not good. I have had there service for over 5 years, despite there horrible billing office. We have setup autopay several times. A month or so will go by then service stops. Every time we call its oh we changed billing or we dont have that card on file and we need payment. Hello in there thats why we setup autopay. So we can set it and forget it.... You would think after 5 years they would know we always pay our bills, sounds to me that that they are hard up for money or extremely disorganized. Either way there are more efficient better companys out there where taking care of your customers is more important.

Had snowplow service for one year. They did a decent job. Never received anything in the mail or email regarding signing up again. Finally received an email, but the prepay date had passed. Tried calling and speaking to the secretary who was downright RUDE, but would not honor the pre pay discount. She blamed it on us as customers. We are done with this company who does not have good customer service and horrible communication. Be very careful going with this company.

The Fall Clean Up service we got from Jacks Lawn was GREAT! Would highly recommend them if your needing youre yard cleaned up.

Dont even have a full driveway. He plows my next door neighbors which is attached to mine. It would take two passes without moving to a new address to take care of me, but not taking new customers, will put me on a wait list? Has no difficulty using my driveway for plowing of neighbors driveway though. :(

They wait for 2 inches to fall and then wait until middle of the night to come plow. If you are at beginning of route and it continues to snow you are out of luck. They send emails to give status which is good but in my opinion most of the time it is a justification for them not coming out to plow. The last draw for me was when they identified the issue of street plows coming after they plow and asked if we wanted end of driveway done again it would be $25. I am done with them. Will never use them again and won t recommend them to anyone.

Most unreliable plow service I have ever dealt with think they have plowed my driveway 6times this year and I had to call them 5 of them times to tell them they did not plow my drive I would not use them next year if they paid me

Bare minimum! Mower refused to touch the backyard based Im my dogs just having gone to the bathroom. Jason, the manager, called it inhumane to his worker. What???? Snowplow service is even worse. Have had them for 5 years without grass issues until now. Never will I use them again.

I used Jacks lawn service for Lawn work & snow plowing at my mothers house in Grand Rapids. Jacks is a life saver since I live out of town, and my mother had no complaints since we hired them. Highly recommend A++

First of all I called them as I wanted a burning bush TRIMMED and Spring yard work done. When the KIDS first showed up - they told me they didnt have the right equipment to trim the tree?? What?? That was the main reason for my order?? Anyway - they said they would have to come back for that ok whatever. Then the next thing I know one kid is blowing leaves around for a half hour while the other kid is back down the hill behind our house where you cant even see raking leaves or whatever is out there??? When they came back they took a chain saw to my tree before I could even stop them - they never once came to the door to let me know they were there and just started chopping! When I asked the kid what he was doing... he said he really didnt know how to do this because hes never done this type of job before?? What?? They completely butchered my tree and it will take years for it to grow back!! After all of this they had the nerve to actually bill me?? Really?? I told them they needed to at the very least credit me for the butchered tree they left me! They took a whole $100 off then threatened to send me to collections if I didnt pay! Do not use this company - you will be sorry!

Im very happy with the service that I get from Jacks! They do my lawn in the summer, and I have them plow my driveway in the winter. My lawn looks awesome! I cant do it myself and have it look so nice! In the winter, they plow my driveway, and they never wake me up, and when I leave for work my driveway is always clear. I wish that my neighbors would use them. Instead, they have some kid in a 30 year old loud junk truck plow their driveway. They might have saved a few dollars by doing that, but its very annoying! I never even hear the guys from Jacks when the plow my driveway.

Does not provide the service they promise at the time of sale. More than 24 hours since we received an email letting us know they would be out to plow and they still havent been out. We have tried multiple times to get in touch with them but havent gotten a response from them yet. We had to shovel ourselves out in order to make it to work. Horrible service!

Its my first year having service with Jacks Snowplowing and unfortunately, I am not pleased with their service already. If you have a commercial building that needs a snowplowing done, I wouldnt recommend going with this company. When we got our first snow storm, they didnt come out to our building for 3 days. I had to call them to make sure that they were coming to clean out our parking lot and I am pretty sure they had forgot about our building (probably because we were new). One unit in our building is open almost 24 hours and has a drive-thru service. So its very important that the snow plowing gets done right and make sure that their customers doesnt get stuck in snow. Unfortunately, the drive thru side isnt very clean right now and their customers are constantly getting stuck. I would think that because its a commercial building, they would take extra care and make sure the parking lot is clean since theres a lot of people coming in and out. Ive heard a lot of good things about Jacks and felt pretty good with signing a 2 year contract with them. However, I am very upset with their service and already waiting for this contract to be over already.

Satisfied with the service when it actually happens. Ive been missed on 2 consecutive snowplowing runs after notifying them I was missed on the first run. No response yet. I also had to contact them to have them send me a bill when I initially signed up.

My neighbor has hired Jacks to clear our shared driveway, the driver has been here only 3 times this year, why am I shoveling? Worst plow service I have ever dealt with! Dont waste your money on these guys!

3/3/2015 - Snowed heavy in morning. Not use to Jacks coming in afternoon so had a guests car in the driveway. Later around midnight, noticed Jacks had been here but didnt plow the whole drive. Didnt realize that it was due to the car being there. Called and left message. By 6:45 AM next morning, Jacks had already been back out and completed the drive. Appreciate the fast response!

My grandpa paid for there services and they came but went in and out of the driveway once nothing else drive off after never came after the city plows came down the street i did a better job with a snowblower so.. good price... bad service

I hired Jacks to do my fall cleanup after two other outfits had no-showed/no-called and snow was about to fall. They assured me theyd be able to squeeze me in that same week and, in fact, they were on-site at 8 a.m. the next morning. They had my yard spotless in under 3 hours and the price was super fair (likely less than had I city-bagged it all to the curb). Theyve earned my business every fall going forward.

Horrible, Horrible, Disrespectful, unethical, and hard to reach when you have issues. Jacks is the worst plow service out there, Run away. You can not depend on them to plow or to honor their commitments.

Quite horrible customer service. Called to get a quote to service multiple properties, the lady was a bit short and not knowledgeable of their services. She transferred me to one of the grunts, who of course had no customer service skills and hung up on me; said they were too busy to quote jobs at the time and I was looking at 2 weeks out just for a quote. Well, I will be servicing 13 properties through a different company. Thank you.

I paid for snowplowing service through Jacks for a rental property before finding out that the tenants had already ordered it themselves. They were very responsive to all emails and refunded the amount the same day with no hassles. They were very professional and prompt, Im going to make sure we use them next year for snowplowing.
